Thank you. Yes. I agree. Yours look so different that if I hadn't seen you named him Dean, I wouldn't have known. I think he has a Custom face up and it looks gorgeous on him.

And this, kids, is why owner pics matter. From his promo pics alone I'd never have guessed Dean was that handsome! (Good thing I have Mike shelled, he could have been some serious competition for Omar )

 

Ever since I have seen Eric I have thought that they could be twins, and on some occassions I've gotten them mixed up for a moment or two. It's funny, I have heard some people say the same thing of smirking/smugness from Claude, but I've always loved both of them. I have never seen them that way, and perhaps it's because I love their smiles.....

I agree with you wholeheartedly. Owner's pics have been the reason why I've totally have fallen for a certain face sculpt after not feeling anything with the companies promos.

 

I love owner photos and I love to see one off face ups too to see the possibilities in a sculpt.

Owner photos really are important. Different people can style the same doll in so many different ways, and really showcase a doll/sculpt's potential.

 

@LyanneNZ, she is stunning! I love that skirt.

Re: owner pictures, it's true! I'm trying to get better about photographing everyone in my collection more often. Iplehouse sculpts are gorgeous, but sometimes it takes seeing them with custom faceups or different styling to see their true potential.

Iplehouse has such amazing dolls!

 

Hi all. Today I've just hit 10 weeks in my wait for my new EID Jessica. When she arrives, whenever that might be, she will be my fourth Iplehouse girl. My first was Rhiannon, my original old style YID Freezia, who came to live with me way back in 2009!



So who was your first Iplehouse doll?

 

@Tonto65 My first Iplehouse doll was my EID Carina back in 2014!

 

tomorrow.... tomorrow I will have help and can get my new still in her box (sorry sweetie) SID Kali out and 'dressed'! and my friend who can see can take some better pics. I have been having more trouble seeing the last year or so and it seems i crossed the line and now am technically 'white cane' legally blind (for me that means blurry) so for the next year pls pardon any crud shot while it relearn how to take decent pics. I even mentioned to the CNIB lady that maybe a group for ppl like me could be made. Cuz I already know there a more than a few blind and visually impaired ppl who still love taking pictures! But for now my freind will help while she is in from out of the city. And yes i got the full set and yes i got the scythe... but it's not blushed.. but omg it's... huge O_O

 

Oh Lady Tiku, I didn't know that you were going through that! I'm sorry to hear it. My mother has also gone blind these last 5 years, and it was hard at first, but now she just takes it in stride. I know there is no choice but staying positive and happy makes her, and you, my heros!

But oooh, Kali is going to be gorgeous! I'd be happy to see even fuzzy pictures! So awesome!

 

I wonder if anyone here can help me with comparison photos?

I would love to see the male Iplehouse nYID body next to any regular SD 60cm boy body (such as Volks, Luts, Soom etc). I'm considering the nYID body for a floating head of mine, but I'm unsure just HOW big it is compared to a 60cm body... I would really appriciate it if anyone can help with photos x

 

Heehee My first Iplehouse was Louis. I just had my Gentle Soori painted by faceup artist in Asia and I'll try post him here when he arrives.

I sure do! I just bought a Migidoll body for my GSoori since he came to me as a floating head. I just bought some outfits from Volks for my Louis as well.

 

@Tonto65 Yes, I still do! Thinking about getting her a new faceup (she still has her original) but I have to focus on my blank heads first.

 

I still have my first Iplehouse...Carina. Her skintone is creamy now and she has had a couple of different face ups. I've never let an Iplehouse go

 

@Tonto65 My first Iple was EID Carina and she is still living here since 2011! Here she is with my last Iple arrived this March, FID Carina! (I really like this sculpt!!). As you can see, the EID has become creamy-yellow. Also, she still have her original faceup from Iplehouse. And I still like her a lot!!!!!!!!

Carina was one of the first sculpts I contemplated (along with Eva) - somehow I never got one because I found Bibiane ...



That aside, I love the mellow colour of the old resin. I'm not a fan of too pink undertones and I really like how some resins "age".

 

Your Bibiane is lovely and I totally love the old French resin color that Iple use to have on their older dolls.

 

Fooled ya, she's actually one of the first ones in the new RS, without the French resin. (As in, I had no idea the formula had even been changed until I saw her next to my old RS Felix.) The colour is much "flatter" in person, but she photographs nicely.

 

@Jany I guess you did. I got confused when you said she was the old resin which is how I distinguish between the new formula and the old. And yes the new resin is more matted.

Aw, I haven't bought an Iple doll in awhile, so it's been some time since I haunted the IH threads...but randomly peeking in here today has made me quite sentimental! I love looking at everyone's 'first', because while I've had a lot of dolls come and go over the years, I've never parted with my first Iple boy. I know that most people are all about the girls, but I fell in love with Barahan's sweet face back at the beginning of 2009, and I just had to bring him (followed by a slew of others) home.

Sad to say, that was an early photo - and my skills have not improved at all since then. But if I am ever forced to choose a favorite company, this would be it. The girls are stunning and the men are gorgeous...and the style is so unique that I believe I would recognize it anywhere, even if I had never seen the sculpt before.

@Bren ...just have to say, that is the most amazing Miroku cosplay ever!!

@celga - Another first lovely Iple...like you I was first attracted to the Iple guys.

My first Iple that I ordered was Akando. I still have him....and love him.

While not my first Iple doll (that was an old YID tan Lion, who I don't know if I have any pics of saved), My first EID was Strongman Luo............he changed my whole course of my collecting, so I think of Khalid (Luo) as my first significant Iple.

Thank you so much!!! The fit is a little iffy because it’s not built to accommodate her chest at all, so it juts forward, but it still looks good in pictures.

 

It still looks pretty damn good even if the fit is not 100%. Would perhaps an undergarment of some fashion help disguise it a little?

 

I think that would, and the angles you take the pics at really makes a difference too! Next time I have her in it, I’ll get a sideways pic to show you!

I’m right there with you! I actually recently dyed my hair black for the first time, so I’ve been enjoying half-twinning with Liriel, in which her makeup is always better than mine!

 

Unfortunately, I'm just too old now I'd look ridiculous. But that's what I have dolls for, LOL.

 

I didn't think I'd get super into boy dolls but I just watched Lomi's Playground's series on youtube about how she customized her EID Strongman Luo I think, and all I gotta say is wow. So impressed by the body construction and sculpt, even before the mods put on. But man... he's HUGE!

 

If you think EID is huge, you should take a look at HID.

Luo is a great sculpt.
