Iplehouse Discussion (HID -male and female) part 2

Awesome because I'm going to be using EID fantasy hands for one of my blokes!

 

they might look odd on a HID... the arm size is an okay fit to the blocky 'man hand' but the fantasy ones are slim(ish) and might look even more slim on a HID... try asking iple if they could do a photo of fantasy nands on the HID for you. tell them miss matched color is okay, and you just want to see how they look with the body. it's an idea that could save money if you don't like the aesthetic. if you are not too worried of the cost they shop away.... just show us too LOL

 

Had a feeling you might say that. Yeah I might buy and mod a pair of HID hands if the fantasy ones don’t fit

 

@Muraki88 They are exactly the same except the fantasy hands has long nails, which is why in the photo the knuckles might look like it is shorter/higher because the nails are lifting the hand up slightly

Here is a comparison of them both (fantasy hands in regular Real Skin, HID default hands in Glow Real Skin) I messed up and ordered regular real skin instead of the glow version, so the right pair is coming up once I can figure out which doll I want to get in this event.



The fit is perfect on the HID body too, just like the default hands fit

Yep I had the same problem, I had to use their search to find things like horns etc

 

HID Baron is here! He's in the "new" Dark Brown because I wrote Iplehouse when they made that announcement about changing resin colors and asked if he could be made in the darker resin like I wanted when I ordered him, and they said that he would be.

He's got the "white + beard" faceup, and it looks terrific except right under his bottom lip, which is probably pretty hard to paint. He came with those little scratches on his face. They might come out with Magic Eraser, but I had to put him back in his box after this photo because he's a Christmas present.

Congratulations, he looks fantastic . Sorry to hear about the scratches, but let's hope you will be able to remove them with Magic eraser.
I would like to ask - could you please try his head on EID body (after Christmas - as he is a Christmas present?)

I would not do magic eraser on body until you try it first on a non obvious place. Lt brown sanding is obvious when it done by Iple, so you may not like what it looks like when you have done it. test it under his feet first.

I just reread they are on his face for sure , you definitely may not want to do it then with his face up. Magic eraser takes face ups and sealant off. It's like microsanding. I would not recommend it.

 

I can definitely do that after Christmas, LOL. My hubs taped up the box and wrote on it to discourage me from peeking until then.

Thanks @Bren! I've sanded Iple faceups before with no trouble, but I can definitely see where Baron's been sanded near his wrists and there is discoloration. I may just leave it alone, then.

 

uh... magic eraser is 'sanding'? O_o i did not realize this... good thing my store never had any when i wanted it? lol yikes

OMG he's beautiful! is this the matte or glow? it has such a warmth... I like this color!... and im not that into the darker resins.

 

I took a Magic Eraser to my Harace’s face (with an Iplehouse faceup) because she headbutted a window frame and got white paint on her face, and it did no damage AND got the paint off. I think the point is to be careful with darker resin shades. :/ You can use it on top of body blushing too. Just be careful!

Thanks! Baron is regular matte AND the darker of the “new” browns. I love the darker shades, especially if he was going to have white hairs. The glow brown hasn’t been available since early 2017. It was late in the day so the light wasn’t good but I’m not allowed to take more pics.

 

I hope you could do a box opening of Baron or take more photos of him after Christmas. Boy! That was a quick delivery! It feels like only yesterday when I saw him on Iplehouse website. Back then i couldnt afford him. Looks like he's on my wish list. He reminds me of my old Rex that i foolishly sold away and now regretted it.

 

Can’t wait to get my EID Baron! He’s a reshelling of my old YID Barron.

What a gorgeous doll, that skin is amazing!

 

Does anyone have an HID Scarlet and/or HID Arvid? Problem with the doll choice is you have no idea if a certain sculpt will work on the big HID man body or not, and I’m trying to shell a couple of OCs.

My character Rihara is a winged demon who is fiesty and sarcastic, and I’m torn between elf grace or Scarlet.

Her partner is a big male demon who’s a military dude, kind and caring but straight down the line. And I was thinking HID Arvid or Bane but I can’t make up my mind!!

Any help would be amazing in terms of photo reference for these combos.

@GreenTeaSlug - Yes, that just about fits her in all the right places! She is a lovely dramatic Doria.

And I would be so tempted if Iple did a HID size Gladiator! Though, I already have a HID version of Elle on order...so it would be nice to get just an outfit. And I know that wouldn't be the case.

@luluna she was getting a little fed up wearing all the SID men jackets and shirts lol, so its nice to finally find that some of the EID women clothing fits.

I think the good thing is that Iple has recently let all other FID's get the clothes with each doll (Carina for female FID and the soon to be released Ron for the male FID) + SID Dane warrior with head choices, I think there will be a good chance that the next female warrior or future limiteds will have head choices

For those of you with the Hercules Baron, i would be so grateful for some well lit nude/semi nude shots showing his range of motion and posing capabilities. I'm 99% sure I'm going to get him at this point, but the main reason I buy dolls is to use as artist's models, so poseability matters a lot to me. I know iplehouse is not exactly known for being industry leaders in this respect, but I'd just like to know what I'm in for before I commit. Thank you so much!

Hi there, I'm hoping to put a SID Eva on a HID hercules woman, and was wondering if you could post photos of your Grace's neck, especially the back, so I can verify that the neck hole isn't too small for a HID body?

I will be honest with you. He is sturdy, but he is also very top heavy so carrying and posing can sometimes be awkward
The body is nice to look at, but it is more mannequin and less like the traditional BJD.

The body is very sturdy and can hold the pose, but not much posing compared to for example LoongSoul. So he is like the real body builders in terms of flexibility lol

The female HID is a different story however, to me it is V2 of the EID woman and improves on look and posing.

@LyanneNZ Aaliyah on HID looks so natural that I hope that one day Iple does release HID as a basic and has her on offer

Just thought I would share a present that I got for Christmas.

Well, the HID women sold out exactly at the moment I was pulling out my credit card to buy one T__T I spent too many days waffling over head sculpts and skin tones! I asked support when they might do another sale, bc this really is my grail doll. Anyone else miss out? Misery loves company after all....

 

That happened to me one year. I didn't account for the time differences between our countries and I waited for the last minute tho in reality it was a day too late. So now I do it two days because what date my country may be isn't necessarily what South Korea date is.

So I do sympathize with you about missing out. Hopefully you will be able to add her. You can always try to get her thru CDS. They have HIDs available every month 1-15 South Korea time.

 

CDS? I'm sorry, I'm new to this hobby and am not sure what you mean. Do you mean doll choice? That's how i first found out they were out of stock T__T

 

Yes. Sorry. CDS stands for Custom Doll Systerm Aka Doll Choice.

This month it is closed because it was open all last month. It will again be open in February. Take a look then from the 1-15 and you will see that they are there. So you still can get her. BUT unlike LE dolls or Basic dolls. CDS /Doll choise will not do layaway and you will need to pay for the doll all at once.

What doll are you getting? I have a Bella and a Lahela as HIDs.

 

I'm getting an Eva head on a HID body; the company said it should look fine. I'm also getting an EID superhero male Bichun, both with glow SR resin. I'm a comicbook artist and use dolls to pose as my characters for my drawings, so I love iplehouse's realistic bodies.

 

@Celine_Loup I'm glad Bren was able to allay your fears! Hope to see your new girl soon. Now that I have a HID I can see that many of the heads would look great on it. I like the extra height a lot! Those end dates come around so fast and I do the same..I dither about my choices and then am too late! I'd love another HID at some stage this year too.

How exciting, both of those sculpts are great. I do love the superhero body, but I got to tell you that it's more resistant to posing in my experience than the Model body. But both bodies are just gorgeous. Are you thinking of getting the superhero with the strongman's arms? a little more definition to them. I too love iple's realistic bodies.

What a beauty. You always know how to pose your doll to their best advantage.

 

@Bren *sigh* yes, I've heard in general about Iplehouse's posing limitations. Unfortunately this really is the only doll that will work for this character---he has to be almost the same height as my HID character, so, short, and he has to be built like a brick shithouse so that he's thicker than my 80cm Loongsoul character. The three characters form a polyandrous triad, so it's important to get their proportions right since they'll be posing together a lot. I post all the art for this project to twitter at @celineorelse if you're curious. And yes, I'll be getting the strongman arms I'll just have to use my training to compensate for the limited posing; I'm hoping it will be good enough. Iplehouse's commitment to realism blows me away, I just love their bodies and can't wait to blush them myself!

Lyanne, I wish I could just look at photos of people's HIDs all day, they're so beautiful. Your girl is gorgeous and so BIG!!! I love that about these dolls. Is that the SR skin? I'm getting my HID girl in glow SR and my EID superhero in SR, and getting a custom sculpt through Simply Divine for his head.

 

if it's to go with an LSoul. have you looked at Soul dolls? the Tera Zenith... he has a narrow waist but his shoulders firt EID tops (with slightly longer arms. He does have an 8-9 head size but looks fine with my HID man, and he's 75 cm too.

 

God, what a gorgeous body, thank you so much for this recommendation! I would buy this in a heartbeat, but I actually meant I need this character to be around the same height as the HID woman doll; they're supposed to feel like they're equally matched physically. So she's 65cm and the EID superhero is 68 cm. There's supposed to be a significant height difference between the two men, because the 80 cm is shelling a character with superhuman strength and a cultural emphasis on patriarchal values, so I designed his character sillhouette to physically dominate the others (which makes it more fun when the other two mop the floor with him).
*sigh* If only the Tera Zenith came in a 60-70cm range, he'd be PERFECT.

 

My Aaliyah is a light brown skinned doll The glow SR is gorgeous and you won't regret it! I have a friend who has a GRS HID Doria.

 

you need the old Zenith body... SH Dexter with zenith man similar body type to tera... My Marauder and my EID woman literally share clothing lol. M is paired with my IH Bliss. the hands seem off but I'm used to it lol he was my first lol. I have All but the LS guy but i have 'paired' M with an LS guy and it didn't seem too bad (M was not impressed though)

I took a look but all i could find on the Souldoll website was the new zenith body, which is too slim with a chest of 29 cm :/ I need a chest measurement of at least 36 cm to be the right proportions. The EID superhero has a 38 cm chest, which is perfect. Sorry to be so picky! I swear it's for legit professional reasons.

She is resorting to borrowing a man's shirt while she waits for me to draft patterns and make her some clothes. I was making something just for her but already I can see it will fit EID and not so well on her...will try again soon.

I'd happily upgrade all my girls to HID bodies if I could! I love it.
