Iplehouse CREAA Doll

Thanks for the information. I have a Creaa girl who doesn’t get much play time due to lack of clothing. I would be interested in hearing what they have to say about future clothing options.

 

They only said clothes are "out of stock." From the response, I wouldn't count on them for future clothing. I bought the dress they offered so she had something. I guess I need to review some of the boxes and boxes I have here and see if anything else fits...

 

I'm using Minifee skirts, shoes, socks, tops (but sleeves are short). Trousers and jeans are a bit short, but still could be used...

They didn't sound very encouraging about the future of the Creaa line either. Sadly. "No current plans" but of course, they never said never...it's a bummer. I don't know what these companies are thinking of. They put out those limited outfits, offered two others and left it at that. Since it's non-standard body size, I would think they would realize that they need to put out a few things to get people going. That also helps to sell the dolls.

 

Yep. I was lucky enough to get almost all outfits for my Creaa family (I don't own only Psichea's fairy set, Lev's jeans set and Elisisa's set. In my opinion the best one for girls is a first gift set (Psichea's second dress) and Pandora's set is the best for boy.... But I really wish I could found Lev's jeans one.....

CREAA!

 

I've long admired the CREAA dolls and been sad they seemed to be no longer available. When I saw they were being made again, I had to go and look at them all again. Now I'm torn between Elysia and Chloe, and have no idea what resin tone I'd want.

 

Just got my order in, so they're on Korea time (obviously... but still good to know). Sale ends September 4. I grabbed Elysia in WS. The bat wings sold it for me.
They also restocked their CID shoes, and there was a pair of black "fairy heels" (feet included) that I just - I just had to have them, y'all.

 

I don't see where you can order the bat wings? They don't appear to be included with the outfit? Where do you order them?

My wallet is insanely happy that the incubus outfit doesn't appear to be sold separately. Wisp would wear the hell out of it if it was.

Yes, I did. Wisp wouldn't be caught alive or dead in that outfit (he's a soul without a body as he has already died but he is not a ghost). The Incubus one, he'd wear in a heartbeat 100%. He must never see that Iple page or he'll hound me to death to find it for him.

 

Hmmm..................I don't see the option to order them with Noel either. There are no horns or wings pictured with his outfit or in the drop down boxes. You mean you have to leave a message on the Q&A to order them separately with him or any of the other dolls?

 

I've decided Elysia is the one I want to add to my mini-gang, but am still debating between Special Real and Peach Gold.

I placed my order for Noel in ebony with his outfit. I'm so happy!!

I'm not against gluing magnets to the back of my doll, either - it looks like they're attached magnetically. Just FYI.

 

I'm super in love with the Chloe mold. I see they also have fantasy hand options with claws. Really considering getting her in gray resin.

I've been looking all over Flickr and Instagram, etc for pics of these girls. Seems they're pretty rare and not a lot of owner photos out there.

Can someone explain the feet situation? It looks like she only comes with high heel feet and there are several different types that fit into plastic shoes? There appears to be 4 heel options, one of which is a full boot shoe that fits to the ankle joint, the other 3 are weird shaped wedges that fit in the various heels. Am I seeing that correctly? Does she not have fully formed heel feet or flat feet? I'm a little confused about the feet.

Also, does anyone know what "Creaa J" means or is referencing? I'm just curious.

As for the feet: when you order a doll, each doll comes with a set of flat feet and heel feet. Interesting that they don't offer those for sale separately in the option parts section, because they do for all of their other dolls. The weird half-formed feet are included with certain pairs of shoes that you purchase - I believe the idea is that you can just swap out the shoes without having to fiddle with the tiny ribbons that attach the shoes to the feet.

Gray resin sounds amazing, and if you order one, I would love to see pictures.

@JinCIncy - I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I finally heard back. No wings. It won't be a deal-breaker for me - I want the doll. I'll just have to 3D print something or try to DIY it.

 

I bought a pair of girl heel feet for Wisp since he's very fem and says the heels make his legs look amazing (to be fair, that's true). But this was also several years ago so....

 

Thanks so much, that is extremely helpful. I thought it was really weird if she'd only have heel feet. :P I'm so happy she'll be able to have flat bare feet. Even though the heels are really innovative and very cute. I love when companies think of stuff like that.

I'm really interested in the gray resin, it's very cool to see how inexpensive it is in comparison to other companies too. Usually it's $60 and up, but Iplehouse's is only $17! I'd be happy to share some pictures. Haven't seen too many gray Iplehouse girls myself.

 

Seeing the what does CREAA_J mean asked, I do not have a 100% answer, but it's my understanding that the Crea part stood for creature. No clue what the extra a is for, however the J is the same use as in JID, which is junior. If you look on the size chart for body review Iplehouse has a listing for Creaa-S, Creaa-J, and Creaa-K dolls, but has yet to make the bigger or smaller sized ones.

 

That makes sense - but that's also a shame. I would love to see Iplehouse's take on a larger version of the Creaa-J.
I love big dolls, so... A 60+ cm Creaa would be amazeballs.
My wallet, however, is relieved that they haven't.

@QuietYurei - that is pretty cheap! Fingers crossed that it's a good color. I don't think I've seen a gray Iplehouse either, come to think of it...

 

I have a terrible weakness for grey resin so of course I have an Iple grey. I have a grey FID Claude vamp. The grey is a lovely soft dove grey. This isn't the best shot for representation of the Iple grey (from a few years ago) but it's the only one I have on hand with Vale and Wisp together in the shot. Wisp is WS and is 3rd from the left. Vale is the last doll on the right. In reality Vale is a little bit darker than he shows in the photo but my camera insists on "correcting" colours *sigh*. I have singular photos of Vale that show the grey colour better but he's OT for this thread so I didn't post one here.

No problem. I'd offer to take a pic of Wisp and Vale together but I'm still in the process of unpacking boxes of stuff from my brother's house. I can access my dolls but it's an effort to do as I need to move boxes of stuff to get at them easier.

 

I'm disappointed that there are no shoes for the boys. Has anyone found a good fit for them? I'm looking at human Noel in grey with the Lev outfit.

 

According to their website, the CREAA male foot is 6.2 cm long, and the male JID foot is 6.5 cm long. That might be a fit?

 

OOOh, you are quite the sleuth @MaleficentMrsofEvil ! Perhaps. Might be worth a try. I've got so many different szes here, lots of MSDs. But, that's one skinny little guy. Maybe a girl's shoe? Thanks so much for the idea.

I just ordered an Elysia in Peach Gold with a wig. The current shipping prices though- yikes.

Shipping at $98 for me That is objectively the most expensive shipping I've ever paid on anything lol. I wouldn't tell anybody besides another bjd collector I did that. XD The dolls make us crazy, I swear.

 

That cost of shipping is ridiculous for a Creaa-J. I've paid less than that when I bought my Soom Euclase (with human and fantasy parts) in the full Soom box coming from Russia. He is both much bigger and heavier than a Creaa so something ain't stirring my Kool-Aid. I think Iple needs to look into using a different shipper.

 

It appears the only option they are currently using is EMS for the US. I did add some wigs, with just one doll it would have been about $88. I'm definitely not a fan either but I didn't want to miss out I wonder if it's worth reaching out to double check on the cost with them.

 

Someone in a FB group I belong to for Iple dolls ordered 3 Creaas and the shipping at check out was not the shipping that Iple later messaged them to say it was different. That person was told shipping was actually $286. They cancelled the order because that is just not right both from a purchasing stand point (what was initially charged) and the total of the revised cost.

 

Iplehouse shipping prices are based more upon the cost of your order than the size and weight of the actual box. I have personal experience with this. I ordered some clothing and hands/feet from Iplehouse. My items came in a box that was about 6 inches long, 6 inches wide, and 4 inches tall/deep. The entire box weighed less than a pound. Shipping cost more ($90) than what it's going to cost me for shipping for one CREAA-J doll ($70).

I don't know if shipping out of South Korea is dependent upon the value of the contents of the box. All I know is shipping from Japan and South Korea to the US is prohibitively expensive, and it makes no sense to me. Mandarake (Japanese consignment stores) shipping prices work the same way. For example, a couple months ago, I purchased a used BJD (Allegorica Evelyn) and an expensive playline doll (Momoko) from Mandarake's website at different times. Both were the same price, but the BJD weighed almost twice as much, and the BJD box was easily three times as big. And yet, I paid the same amount for shipping for both orders.

How does that even work?

I believe that shipping costs are largely the reason why Alice's Collections doesn't partner with many Korean or Japanese BJD companies. (Most of the BJD companies that ACBJD offers are Chinese.) I know that Denver Doll Emporium and Doll Peddlar have basically stopped accepting pre-orders for Korean BJDs because the cost of shipping was just too high for them.

In the US, the value of the contents only affects the cost to insure the package. The shipping price is determined by the size and weight of the box.

Sorry if I'm getting a little off-topic here, but it's a puzzle I've been pondering over for a while now.

 

I know shipping prices went a bit crazy for a while but it seems like most places are getting back to a more normal range. But I've also not ordered a doll from Korea/Japan in quite some time.

Here in Canada, the shipping is calculated by the size of the package, weight and where it's going. How quickly you want to get it wherever will also affect price as well as if you want more insurance than is provided. For receiving packages, it's a dice roll on whether or not you get nailed with Customs fees. Anything over a $20 value is potentially subject to fees. If the item is marked as a gift, the threshold increases to $60. The two cannot be combined to increase the non-taxable amount to $80. Customs fees in Ontario are 15% of the declared value of the package so dolls insured for full value can get even more expensive if Customs holds your doll hostage.

 

I'm grateful to live in the U.S. when it comes to Customs fees, as collectable dolls like BJDs are still classified as "toys" and are exempt from them. Especially when I have to pay an extra $88 for shipping. I think the previous record was $40.

 

So far, my most expensive Customs fees were for my Unidoll Ark at $113CAN and my Soom Vesuvia Poison Kiss at $119. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to which packages get dinged either. I've had dolls that I feared would be held hostage that scooted right on through while other I would've thought were beneath their notice get stopped for fees. I also firmly believe I'm on a list with Customs now as I'm running about a 50/50 chance of them smacking me with fees.

 

Do you know what clothing is good for them? Ordered one.
Also the shipping to Zone 3 region was 170usd almost half of the doll's price.

 

I'm sorry- I don't know either. These will be my first two.

And yeah - shipping is pretty pricey! I feel your pain.

She may be able to fit into Doll Chateau Bella sized tops but I'm not totally sure.

I think it will be more a guessing game once our dolls arrive since it doesn't seem like there's a lot of clothing information out there, probably since the release periods were short and years apart.

 

I can say that finding ready-made clothes for the boys is tough because they are such skinny, lanky guys. I make the clothes for Wisp (Creaa-J Lev) but even so, everything for him is custom made for him pattern-wise because of that extreme lankiness.

 

I can understand that, that line is pain to dress.
Do you make your own patterns? Can you share some (if that is possible). I have troubles making patterns, tried various methods and it's always a failure.

 

Because of the style that Wisp prefers, most of what he wears is basically skin tight. I achieve this by using knee-high/mid-calf dress socks with interesting patterns. I cut the foot part off, pull the sock up his legs do the top cuff of the sock will be at waist level, put a pin about 1/2" down from his crotch and then cut the sock in half length-wise from the bottom to the pin. Sew the seams for the inner leg and then make darts at each outside hip to make the top of the sock fit his waist. I'll finish off the cuffs with satin ribbon or whatever other trim I have that goes well with the look.

The jacket is usually made from the other sock and follows sort of the same method. It's a terrible way of explaining it, I know, but I honestly don't have a pattern for his clothes because I usually use dress socks for him or little girl's 1-piece bathing suits since it's also thin and stretchy material.

He is so stylish!!! I missed the black gloves. Begged Iplehouse to let me jump in late into pre-order, so nothing was on offer - just a doll. I have asked them about CREAA for at least three years, they said they are planning and I have missed the pre-order because I've been closing the contract and wasn't sure what my name was)).

 

He's kind of a diva and pushy as hell (but not obnoxious about it). Took me a couple of tries with his wig, too. Funny enough, he's wearing one a friend gave me because her boy rejected it. I hadn't pictured him with hair like that but as soon as I tried it on him, that was it. His eyes were easy and he was happy with the first pair I made him.

The black glove hands and girl feet fit him perfectly despite being girl items and him male. The feet are ever so slightly a different shade of white but I also bought them well after I bought Wisp (when he demanded heeled shoes). He has black superfine glitter that I coated his lower forearms in that goes part way up his forearms as that's part of his character looks.

Finishing my Edwardian dress and was thinking of making something for Creaa girl. Anyone can help with a basic top pattern?
I guess her torso is about 6cm long, right?

 

My Elysia elf arrived today! The Peach Gold resin is lovely, the wig I ordered with her fits perfectly, and I fortunately have have some clothes that fit her slim lanky body. DDE's Iced Tee short sleeve tops fit well, though the long sleeved version is short in the arms.

 

Minifee items quite suitable. My dolls have high heels and casual clothes… only one point… long sleeve would become 3/4… and same for trousers
So pls be aware.
But still minifee sized items are OK (for girls only!!!)
