Iplehouse CREAA Doll

Apr 10, 2018

    1. This line made its debut in early 2017. The dolls (both male and female) have elongated bodies with delicate limbs, which makes them stand out from Iplehouse's more realistically proportioned lines. So far there are no basics. Each doll has been released for a limited time. The sculpts have been fairies/elves, humans, and one frog. Here are the stats:

I hope owners (both current and potential ) will gather here to discuss their dolls. I have Leah (elf version) on order and will share photos when she arrives.

    2. Looking forward to owner photos!!

    3. I do really like the kind of weird and fantasy aesthetic of this line. It's not in the cards for me at this point, but maybe in the future. I'll definitely hang around and oogle the owner pictures when they happen though!
I can't wait to see your Leah when she arrives @vermont chick her sculpt looks so delicate and lovely.
Also the clothes they have for the creaa line look amazing!

    4. Funny you should mention the clothes, @TatterPunk - Her outfit is what drew me to Leah in the first place, especially the short cardigan. I want to examine it closely to see if I can make something similar for my other elves.

What really cinched the deal for me was a quick look at the patterns available for Evangeline Ghastly from: Designs by Jude featuring Fletcher Pattern Company. Except for the bust, the measurements are the same. Hopefully the bust line won't be a difficult alteration to work out. Shoes are another issue. A lot of dolls have the same foot length; it's the width that may pose problems. I'll have to wait until she gets here and see.

The aesthetic of this line reminds me a bit of Doll Chateau with its exaggeratedly long limbs. DC is a bit extreme for me (not to mention most of their dolls look rather unhappy) so I'm glad to have a gentler alternative from Iplehouse.

I plan for Leah to be a muse/love interest for my Soom Idealian51. He's a lot thicker all around but their heads are the same size. She'll look especially ethereal next to him.

    5. I like these dolls because they remind of Rosette dolls... And love the long lanky look. But sadly my doll funds are tapped. So I hope to moon over owner pics of them :)

    6. @Chehime - They do look like Rosette dolls, now that I think of it. I had a Rosette years ago but sold her, sadly.

    7. OOoh @vermont chick I bet she'll look amazing with your ID51! I am sooo bored tonight. No one seems to be posting in any of the threads I follow -flop-. And we need more people here in the CREAA discussion!

I'm wondering when they're gonna do the bigger CREAAs. . or if they still plan to at all. It seems like there's a huge market for the mini sized dolls lately. Also, I like how weird some of these dolls have been. Like frog boy. I love the frog hands. And the first one Psyche I think it was? With her creepy lidless bug eyes. They definitely seem to lend well to people who want dolls as the fair folk.

    8. Yay a thread for the CREAAs! Thanks @vermont chick :)

I've been thinking about getting Leah too, but I kind of should be saving for other things... :huh?:

@TatterPunk I love the odd stuff they've been doing too. I was hoping Psyche would come back, looks like I missed my chance there.

    9. Thank you @vermont chick for starting this thread and congratulations on ordering Leah! Look forward to seeing her when she arrives.

I fell in love with the Frog Prince but felt he wouldn't fit in my collection and now regret not buying him. First time that has happened. I asked Iplehouse if they will ever sell him again, including the frog parts, and said they probably will just not sure when

    10. That's good news if Iplehouse plans to re-release the frog prince, @LunarWolf. Maybe they will plan a re-release of Psyche for those who couldn't decide on her at the time. She always reminded me of a little alien. I wish I had ordered the second release of Zinnia--I really like her. Not a fan of the curlicue resin heels they offer, so more shoe options would be appreciated, too.

@TatterPunk - I don't remember mention of larger CREAAs. Iplehouse sure is branching out these days!

    11. @vermont chick If you look in the body reviews section, there's a section for Creaa-S as well as the current Creaa-J dolls. It's still there, so they either still have plans to do it or they just haven't taken it down yet.

    12. Aha! I hadn't looked there. I also see a CREAA-K for a Kid, perhaps? Funny. It's my impression that this line is not all that popular. I guess Iple has high hopes.

    13. I think the Creaa-k is newer since I don't really remember seeing it. Perhaps they're more popular among not english speaking folks or people not on DoA?

    14. There must be a market for dolls with long skinny limbs or else Doll Chateau would have gone out of business long ago.

    15. So true. I love DC but I'm currently into the more realistic looks. . . though the Creaa ones may worm their way into my house next year maybe since I do love me some weird fae creatures, and these have smaller heads than the Doll Chateau ones, so they'd fit in better with my others.

      • x 1
    16. Wow, I missed this entirely! Was just now looking at some IpleClothes and saw the Creaa line. I had no idea. If I had seen that Zinnia from last fall I would have nabbed her in a heartbeat. This looks like a line to pick up where Soom has left off by killing off the Rosettes. While I like DC I do like the looks here from Iplehouse. Which the first time in a long time I've seen an interesting doll from them....

    17. Well, just when I was all excited about the possibility of buying Evangeline Ghastly patterns for Leah, I go to Fletcher Pattern Company and find a notice that the store is currently closed. Closed temporarily? Closed forever? Gone on vacation? Gone to the moon? A little more info would have been appreciated. :pout:

@dollhausen - I wondered if the Rosettes were completely gone. It seemed like there was talk about their return a year or two ago. I'm glad we have CREAA to fill the gap. Now we just need more sculpts, especially basic ones that you can order anytime.

    18. @vermont chick Well, nuts! I was actually just going to ask you if you got the chance to buy any of the patterns before the shop disappeared. I am kicking myself that I didn't :( All their patterns are gone from Etsy too and blessed if I can find any leads about where they've disappeared to/for how long...

    19. @eland - I'm kicking myself, too. So many times I haven't bought patterns because I assumed they would always be there when I wanted them. Her patterns are gone from Amazon and ebay, too, except for one on ebay which is a re-sale.

Adams-Harris Pattern Company Adams Harris Pattern Company has patterns for Evangeline, too, but so far there are only two of them. I don't know if she has more in the works.

    20. @vermont chick :sighsigh... me too. Thought I'd at least wait until I ordered the doll before buying the patterns, hah! *sad trumpet sound*
Thanks for the link, I won't dawdle this time! I found a seller called Raccoon Rags who has a couple of patterns, and over on a blog called Wild Imaginings I found a couple of free patterns (no instructions, and unclear to me at this stage if it is for the taller Evangeline or not - but hey, free is free)

    21. Thanks for the links @eland. I looked at Raccoon's Rags--I like her patterns. There is good basic stuff on Missy's Imaginings, too. Like you, I wish she would identify which Evangeline she is using, because I can't tell just by looking at her. There are some instructions on her blog. She also shows how she drafts her patterns. Using anyone's PDF patterns will involve some trial and error, because I can never get PDFs to print to the exact size. Not to mention any Evangeline patterns will need some bust reduction for use with the smaller chested CREAA. All of which means I can't sew anything until Leah arrives. I expect her first outfit (other than the Iplehouse outfit I ordered with her) will consist of a crocheted top with a handkerchief skirt.

    22. @vermont chick I feel you on the pdf trial and error thing. My plan is to try out a pattern on my Dollzone Hermit and see how that goes, while I churn my way through the layaway. (I envy your crochet skills!) The good news though, is that Designs by Jude just replied to my messages to say the store was closed due to surgery but that they are back!

    23. @vermont chick Thank you so much for starting this thread. I have Wisp, Creaa-J Lev. He's just... scrumptious.
[IMG]IMG_0578 by ID Locke, on Flickr
The outfit he's wearing in the pic is one I made for him out of a dress sock. He's also got the default face-up minus the beauty marks Iple seems to adore. His eyes are ones I made for him.

If anyone wants to see him next to other similar sized dolls (boys only, I have no girls), I can do that. His partner is a SD Vito Azreal skull head) but I've also got some Soom ID51's and an Iple FID. I can also go with shorter boys in the more traditional MSD height range as well as SD's in the more typical heights. I've got tinies as well although most are mature tinies. Actually, I go have a pic of him with other dolls for height purposes....

    24. @eland - That's great news! I wondered if there might be a medical issue involved. Now I can get out of panic mode and consider carefully which styles I want to try for Leah.

@Iron_Dog - Love your Lev! :love Did you ask Iplehouse to omit the beauty marks or did you remove them yourself? I usually don't care for beauty marks myself, although I did give my Dollshe Fashion Saint a liberal sprinkling of them. Sometimes the sculpt just seems to demand them. The only thing I find off-putting about the male CREAA body is the very fragile looking ankles. Do you find them to be a concern?

    25. I did ask them to leave them off and it wasn't considered a custom face-up. I honestly believe that they just took the white Lev used for the promo shots, wiped his face-up, did the one I asked for and fired him out the door to me as I got a shipping notice for him about 3 weeks after I placed the order, which is crazy fast.

When I compare Wisp's ankles to Vale's (FID Claude vamp), I'd say Wisp's are just as steady as Vale's. He's actually quite a reliable stander and I can plunk him down anywhere with very little fiddling around and he's solid. He's got quite large feet in relation to his body/limbs so that probably helps him be so stable. He is very lithe but he's also got a surprisingly decent sense of sturdiness to him when you're handling him. The one doll that I have that always makes me feel like I'm going to snap his legs/arms is Sondo (Akhmel Nathan). But Sondo also makes Wisp's limbs look beefy *laughs*.

If you click on the ID Locke link next to the photos, there's more there with Wisp that I did as a sort of review of his body. One of the shots shows his feet in relation to the feet of the other dolls he's pictured with above in case you're curious. I can also take some shots of his ankles specifically if you want/need me to. I'd post the pic but Flickr is being a jerk and when I thought I was signing in to my account, it was actually making me create a new one. WTF!?

    26. Hi there!

I just recently ordered Leah (fairy version) from Iplehouse! To be honest, she was sort of an impulse buy.... but when I realized she was limited, I just had to snap her up! What really drew me to her was her very elegant body! Not to mention, her sculpt is very beautiful as well. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford her outfit, which I really wanted! Looks like I'm going to have to sew some clothes for her. This might prove kind of difficult with her proportions, but I'm sure I can come up with something!

I will definitely update with some pictures when she arrives!

    27. Congrats on ordering Leah, @destinybjd. I have her on order, too. Did you order her with face-up? I selected the fairy sculpt with the human face-up. I hope that doesn't confuse the artist too much.

Great group of photos, @Iron_Dog, and not much overlap with Iple's own pose photos. I'm glad to hear he's a reliable stander. At the moment the only thin-limbed doll I have is a Doll Chateau tiny Ada, whose four legs tend to go out from under her like a moose on ice skates. She's the reason I'm a little leery of the long skinny legs.

    28. Thank you, @vermont chick! I ordered her without a faceup, since I plan to commission one from one of my favorite faceup artists for her. And I'm thinking there are others who would like the human faceup with the fairy sculpt, too! I also prefer that faceup to the other one, if I were to choose!

    29. Hello everyone!
Let me introduce my sweet couple: Aja and Clive =)

    30. They look perfect together, @Helgovochka. Would love to see some close-ups if you have any. And where did you find shoes to fit Aja?

    31. Sure =) Today we were walking in Botanical Garden were sakura was blooming...

Actually it's quite random shoes that I've found on Russian community...My opinion that JID shoes might suite well. At least as on the Psyche promo there were some kind of JID shoes (and yes, these shoes still a bit big...)

    32. @Helgovochka That blue wig is a great choice, she looks so fresh and unique. They are such a sweet couple, fragile somehow.

    33. Thank you for the photos, @Helgovochka. I hope Iplehouse re-releases this version of Sara. She has such a lovely face. I'm very sorry to have missed her.

Most of my JID shoes are high heels and I see that CREAA girls come with flat feet. Hopefully something in my collection of shoes will fit her; if not, I'll have to try making her some shoes.

    34. Yay, thanks for this thread!
It's kind of trippy though, hearing my name so often - Leah. lol I was tempted by her, and would have gone for elf sculpt with human faceup too! I was thinking it might be fun to get her in white and dye her blue or something.

I couldn't resist the frog boy and his wonderful froggy hands and feet! But for me, he had to be green, so I got him in white and dyed him. I should take a few more photos of him. he still has no faceup, but I am happy with him as is and can't really see him with a traditional one. No need for a wig or shoes! HAhaha!

    35. I realized that I love all Creaa dolls... (and I'd be glad to have all of them too!)
Sara came with flat and high heels + with special Creaa shoes I've ordered separately, so I think you'll be safe with all of your JID shoes)))

Thanks! It's my favorite ine too)) but for Clive I'll try to find another one...
      Prince and his fairy...

I saw your pic of Clive))) I like it))) pls post a pic of him as soon as he'll get a makeup)))

    36. @Helgovochka - The only high heel feet I see for CREAA on Iple's site are the ones that come with the resin shoes. Are those the ones you have? They seem to be only partially sculpted--the toes are suggested but left unfinished. I'm trying to imagine how they will fit in shoes designed to have a full foot in them.

    37. @vermont chick - I have normal flat and high heel feet (that came with my Sara not as a special order and I don't think you can order them separately) + partially sculpted that came with plastic shoes (ordered separately)

    38. Congrats on your gorgeous couple! I hope you'll keep sharing pictures of them while we wait for our CREAAs to come home :)
Actually, I would be very grateful if you could take a photo of the heel feet. I spent weeks arguing with their q&a team - they kept telling me there were no heel feet for CREAA girls...

    39. REALLY?!!! Sure I'll take a pic tonight... They came as a set with Sara...

    40. I wonder if the heel feet that came with Sara were a one-time offer? The description of what comes with Leah says flat feet are the default. There is no mention about heel feet being available.

    41. Actually there were no info regarding to high heel feet for Sara too... so I was surprised and gladto receive it)))
I'll post a pic of feet in morning (I took pic, but flickr works not very good from phone)

    42. I look forward to your photo. I also hope I'll get a happy surprise and receive heel feet for Leah.

    43. Psyche came with heel feet too. I thought that maybe that was a special gift, for the very first CREAA... It could be that they had problems with them and have withdrawn them, I don't know. What was frustrating was being told that they didn't exist :huh?:
Fingers crossed there will be surprise heel feet for Leah too.

    44. Here's a pic. Actually I started to think it might be a gift for full set Sara... Anyway I truly hope you'll get Leah with both pairs of feet.

My Sara was in third Creaa release... But I bought her as a full set with make up, black hands and both outfits... + as addition in the same order I bought plastic shoes... So yeah, it might be a gift from company...

    45. I had a feeling the heel feet might have been a gift with the first CREAA, but if they came with the third release too, there is still hope.

I also wondered if there was a possibility of using JID or FID heel feet with CREAA. The problem is ankle width. CREAA's ankle is 4cm, FID's is 4.5 or 5 cm depending on body type, and JID's is 5cm. So it looks like none of those will work.

    46. I don't think other heel feet will work...
But let's cross fingers and wait for Leah to come) I believe you also will have right heel feet :)

    47. My Leah came in the mail today!!!

To everyone who was wondering... Yes, she came with heel feet!!

      IMG_20180515_162543777

She is so, so beautiful in person! But my heart dropped a bit when I noticed one of her pretty ears is chipped...

      IMG_20180515_162836878

I'm a bit disappointed about that, but otherwise, I'm just so happy she's here! I'd love to share some more pictures of her when I get the chance!

    48. @destinybjd Congratulations!!! Wow, that was quick! How exciting!
I'm sorry to hear about the ear :( That is very disappointing - I hope they'll fix that for you.
I really love her face from that angle :) I look forward to seeing what you do with her!

& Thanks very much to you and to @Helgovochka for the photos of the heel feet :) this gives me hope!

    49. Congratulations with such beautiful girl coming! It's sad, that her ear is chipped... :(
Did you tell IH about it?

Everything will ok! And you'll get these feet! :)

    50. @Helgovochka Thank you!! Yes, I told IH about it in an email. now I'm just waiting for their response...

But they've been really good so far with their service, so I'm not too worried!

    51. Congrats @destinybjd! :cheer That's great news (except for the ear chip). I started to suggest you send Iplehouse a message with attached photo of the damage, but you posted before I could finish my message. In my experience they've always been quick to fix problems.

I am so thrilled about the heel feet. Do you happen to have any JID shoes that you can try on her? I'd love to know if they work. Or any other shoes you have.

I hope this means the other Leahs will ship soon. No-face-up dolls always come more quickly, so I expect to have to wait an extra week or two. Clothing also slows down orders. I guess I will continue my compulsive daily check on my order status.

Do you plan to paint her yourself or send her out? I can't wait to see how you style her.

      Squee! I'm so excited!

    52. @vermont chick Thanks! I'm sure Iple will get back to me with a solution soon!

Unfortunately, the only shoes I have laying around right now are YoSD size. I'm hoping it won't be too tough to get her some shoes that fit, though.

It'll be great if the other Leahs can ship out soon! I'm dying to see owner pictures of her with her faceup and full set! I hope it won't be too much longer for your girl...

I have something kind of elaborate in mind for her faceup, so I'm planning to send her off! I just know I'd mess it up lol... But she's supposed to be based on my Elven inquisitor from the Dragon Age series, so she'll have some facial tattoos!

I think she is going to be just perfect for my plans, especially with her lithe body!

    53. @destinybjd - Hope you have an awesome face-up artist who can pull off your vision of her. I look forward to the finished results.

    54. Can't wait to see your pics with face up =)))

What's normally happening with damaged parts? Should these parts to be send to the IH? I wonder as I've never had thse problems before...

    55. I have no idea either! But I asked IH about it in an email, and also in the Q&A board... I have yet to receive a response, but I'm hoping they'll get back to me soon!

    56. @destinybjd - Don't send any parts to IH until they ask for them. Depending on what part it is, and how badly damaged, they may not want it back. They'll tell you what to do when they answer your email.

    57. IH just replied to my email regarding my Leah and her poor chipped ear. They were very apologetic and offered to send me a new head! I'm really relieved, and I'm very happy with their level of customer service!

      • x 2
    58. @destinybjd that is awesome. Exactly the response I was hoping for from them :3nodding: Hopefully it won't take too long!

    59. Pets and Creaa lines have been re-opened for two weeks! Now to see how I can order the Frog Prince, and what he could wear, they're not selling his original clothes and not sure the same FID outfit could fit, the other Creaa outfit isn't for me either

      • x 1
    60. Whaa? Re-opened already?
Thankfully, no Psyche. I would have been kicking myself so hard. (I'm still a teensy bit annoyed cause I probably would have chosen Sara over Leah, but oh well).

But hooray for being able to get your Frog Prince @LunarWolf !
