That’s good to know as well NineThreeOne, I’ll not worry about getting either colour. I’ve got Paige in NR but no one in PG. Must rectify that.

 

There should be three parts: The upper body with arms, the lower body with legs and the head part without face. Assambling should work like this: Knot a piece of tension string into a loop and put an S type ring near the knot. Hook the S type ring inside the lower body part. Pull the loop through the upper body and head part and fix everything with another S type ring.

I hope it works.

 

Any one out there have a BID in the Q(cute) body? How do you like it? Is is only available in female body? I see you don't choose a gender with it.

All my little BIDs are on the older body.

My two are on the Q body and they are genderless I’d say. I like the head cap style head rather than the faceplate style and they can fit into littlefee clothes. The torso is longer than littlefee but the same as the older body. I’ve had the older body but liked it as a boy more.

I have both, Coy with the Q body and 3 other BID with the older body.
Coy has the same height, but is slimmer and has a longer neck. He is cute, but i don't really like him next to the older BID.

I'll transfer him to the fairies as Beau's younger brother as soon as his costume is ready.

This coat fits the older body, but to me Coy looks lost in it. I'll try a stiff tunic with a collar to conceal it.

I haven’t gone for the newer Q body yet. Unfortunately for my savings IH are having an “Fantasy” event and I’ve ordered a girl Efreet (with the fangs!) in SR and a boy (human) Erzulie in light brown. Both on original bodies. I wouldn’t mind but Adam (NS Bono, faceup A) hasn’t even come yet!
I “blame” Martha for her marvellous photos ;-)

 

Happy to oblige! LOL. Will you be keeping Fantasy Efreet's fangs, or filing them off? Mine had her fangs filed off, and now she won't ever stop talking...or singing...



I have a lot of BIDs, and all of them are on the original body. I didn't really care for the look of the new Q body, plus I really didn't want yet another size doll body. It's so much easier when everyone can share clothes.

 

I adore your Effie; that’s one of the reasons why I snapped her up when I realised she was available. I too prefer the original body. I just think it looks more realistic than the Q one. Personal aesthetics really. As for the fangs, I quite like them but I’m struggling to explain them I’m having an IH face-up so I don't know how realistic it is to try and mod her. I’m calling mine Clara (or mouth Almighty, LOL) but then she will decide for herself when she gets here.

 

Same with me. Unfortunately, Coy only was available with the Q-body.

 

That’s as maybe but he’s still as cute as hell. As I said it’s just personal preference. I am attracted by their faces. If I had to get a Q body I’m sure I’d love the doll regardless and your Coy is a very handsome boy.

Yes, I can relate to that. I got into this hobby because I fell for IH Paige (Kid) and had to have her. I can’t wait for the BID’s I have on order.

I’m still waiting for Efreet (Clara with the fangs) and Erzulie (mine will be a boy called Jasiri). Just had to buy another BID’s bunkbed to accommodate them all. I’m now broke as I also ordered 2 IH dolls in the Winter sale as well. Oh well, I am comforted by your photos Martha while I wait.

Are you going to keep your Efreet's fangs, or file them off?

I didn't buy any dolls from them after they totally screwed up my Baron repaint. They no longer have the artists who did all their promo photos, and the freelance artists they use now just do their interpretations. So it's hit and miss if you get a good faceup. So I spent my money elsewhere. But then, I already have a LOT of BIDs.

Some of them had a lot of fun with a pillow fight, until they knocked over the tree...

 

LOL. I saw this on your blog and thought it was very funny. Keep ‘em coming.

 

I hope they didn't break any ornaments! Are those needlepoint pillows?

 

Some of the pillows are needlepoint, but most are soft ones I made from a Christmas print.

 

I'm very late to this party but I finally have added a BID sized Iplehouse...I received her a little while ago but have finally painted her and made her a dress so that she can say hello She has the Q type body. I love this size - I have a KID to face up now too.

Love the little one very much @luluna - I am sure she won't be my last one. Love this size more than I expected to. I bought a KID at the same time which I am hoping to share today if I can get clothes finished but I really love the BID size.

She's adorable!! How do you find the Q Body? I think it's more "YoSD" sized than the old one, isn't it?

 

Thank you I love the Q body but I can't compare because I never had the earlier one. I am really not familiar with child dolls and I will say that I don't collect them but they keep sneaking in to the shelves and my displays would tell you otherwise LOL I am not even really familiar with what is a YoSD sized doll although that's what I have been looking at when it comes to clothes, shoes etc.

I can't wait to get them more - clothes/wigs/shoes/eyes etc. So cute!

 

The q body can share clothes with Littlefee if that helps. Littlefee has shorter torso and longer legs while the q has longer torso and shorter legs. Regular yosd clothes do fit a little loose on the q body. I think because of the longer torso the q body looks better in tops that go to hip length or longer and dresses with a little bit of a higher waistline.

 

Four of my BIDs are serving as flower girls and ring-bearer at a wedding...

 

I've had this little one awhile. I ordered her back in Oct 2022 and had trouble getting her wigs and clothes so I knitted her a dress. (I'm not very good at knitting but at least it covers her up.)

I thought they had discontinued Byrui but she was available in the BID event last year and I was also able to get her cute little Vampire head. So adorable!

Is it one of the faces that only comes on the regular body? She has a pretty face, reminds me of a porcelain doll. I wish iplehouse would bring back the pets, the pup is so cute!

@rosehollow - Oh the petticoat is super darling with those little, tiny blue flowers! Just so sweet on her! She looks most pleased to show it off.

 

SHOES !!! Okay I've got that off my chest, they are the bane of my life. BIDs and KIDs all have the same tiny feet, too large for Blythe shoes and too small for the fairly easy to get 5cm shoes which can look like clown shoes.

I was wondering with all the 3D printers out there if anyone has come across someone who is either making or can make 3D printed lasts to make the shoes on and who, in my case, would ship to the UK? I know there are digital files out there but I don't know anyone who could print them for me. If not I'll have to try making some with Fimo

BID’s are terrible show-offs. Mine are!

 

I apologise for not having replied to people, if I should have done. I’ve had covid for the past month or so and had no interest in dolls or anything (but they kept arriving).
Now I am better I’m trying to catch up.
Martha asked me a couple of time if I had filed off my Efreet’s (Clara) fangs. Well, I had a go and wished I hadn’t. Not only have I managed to file them very badly but I’ve also managed to knock an eyelash off, chip the paint on her lips and mark her cheek!.
I’ve managed to use pastel on her lips (would you believe the IH paint is almost the same as Derwent Pastels colour terracotta?). It doesn’t look too bad as long as you don’t look closely. One good thing I have done is that I scraped the colour off her tongue (unintentionally at first) and I think she look much better for it. IH had her looking like she’d been drinking blood (but then she is supposed to be a vampire). AND SHE’s STILL SINGING & giving her opinion to anyone who will listen.

 

Oh, I love this photo.Thanks for posting it. Some of them I know, like Holly, Cookie and Effie but others I have trouble remembering their names. Thank you so much for naming them.

 

If you manage to, please let us know. My KID’s and BID’s are wearing 5cm shoes, some from Fatiao on Etsy and I get a lot of canvas sneakers from Amazon. Like you, I find it very difficult to get stuff for them here in Britain and it’s very expensive to buy from the States or Korea.

 

I have only found a couple types of shoes I like on aliexpress. You might see them for a lot more on other sites sold by resellers. The Mary Janes are really cute.

 

SK Couture or SKDollhouse Store has nice rubber boots, they are on Etsy and aliexpress.

 

Yes, I’ve got all these shoes/boots. The snow boots came from AmazoUk as did the sneakers. The Mary-Janes came from Fatiao/Etsy. So I do seem to have access to the same kind of things as you do. That’s nice to know.
They don’t all fit BIDs tho, some things labelled 1/6 will only fit my RacoonDoll and my Fairyland LittleFée (slightly smaller feet than BID’s).

@El BJD - Thank you! I've had this KID outfit for a while now...and needed something for this little girl to wear. (It's suddenly become hard to find BID clothes!) And it fit her well enough. The black tights are huge...but work because they don't really show.

Where to you all get clothes for your BIDs?

 

I have updated Elin’s look again. I was sort of disappointed that I couldn’t get her to look how I imagined and was debating on keeping her. I tried a new look and now I can’t imagine letting her go, another example of them choosing their own style.

 

I have things I like on my two b.i.d from a seamstress here in the states and my dress above is from dula doll clothes on aliexpress. It is the beige in 1/6 size, I thought it would fit typical yosd size but it is slimmer and fits my q body Elin perfectly.
