She's very cute @vermont chick! I can try shades of blonde. My Erzulie has the new darker light brown tone so I didn't think about using a lighter hair color. It could still work!

 

@vermont chick Your Erzulie looks a bit like my sister did at that age. A little different features, but same color hair, eyes, and skin. She's a cutie! Made me do a double take, lol.

 

I had my Erzulie as a strawberry blond for a while-but she's back to her dark brown wig now. She looks great either way.

I just ordered a bunch wigs and shoes on Alice's Collections, and totally forgot that those prices are American dollars and not Canadian ones... Yikes! This has happened to me more often than I can count. Meanwhile, there will be the cutest little shoes and several different wigs for my Bono when she gets here! I really have to start thinking about a name, because "Bono" just does not work for me. Wrong association (U2 anyone?!).

 

Ororo started out with white hair, but I found that having a lighter wig on her made her resin look even darker, which was a challenge to photograph unless in ideal, controlled lighting. The same happened with black wigs, but they washed her out. When I changed her to a medium brown wig, I got a much richer tone that was closer to her actual color and made taking casual photos of her much easier.

I can definitely relate. Bono is a terrible name, and I'd have changed mine to Bonnie, had there not been another BID with that name - which I already own. So, having her arrive just before Christmas, 'Holly' seemed like the perfect name.

 

Oh, Holly is adorable, and it suits the sculpt so well!

Soleil got some new toys- I found these at a local toy store and they're perfect for her!

 

Oh they are so cute! I wish I could find some like that here in Oz. Do you recall who made the toys?

 

They were called "World's Smallest [toy name]"- I was able to find some on EBay by searching!

Mine just came back from a trip to the Maritimes with her family. Here they all are in a family portrait on Canada Day (July 1st) at Cape Bonavista in Newfoundland...

 

@Xanadu Dolls do you mind me asking where in Oz did you find them? I did a bit of searching on EBay last night, but wondered if there were other suppliers?

 

Love this casual play pic! I'm investigating those awesome toys! I've so far only made a set of crayons and a sketch book. Have planned a set of blocks too. If all goes well I'll also post in my online shop. Where are her pyjamas from? They are the cutest!

 

The more I look at the BIDs and my gorgeous PG Bonnie the more I would like another one...Depending on how tax time goes, I'm considering an ebony Erzulie. My grail doll is an ebony ashanti EID - OT, but getting an Erzulie would be a great way to see how I like the skin tone, and she is so very cute! I've stalked all the Flickr pics I can find!! : )

I love the small toys!! I found a tiny Rubix cube at a candy store in our local mall. I think they had an Etch a Sketch and a yo-yo too. Time to go back to the store.

@luluna Awww she's adorable! My Soleil has the same faceup and outfit- it's amazing how different they look in the different skin colors! Isn't that little chin perfect?

Love these Peekaboos! Their chubby cheeks get me every time.

 

I just received my Dollbakery eyes which I ordered in March. They are all low dome with normal pupil. The 12mm eyes are too large to fit completely into the eye socket of my BID dolls. Plus the 12mm pupil is also too large. The 10mm eyes fit into the eye sockets but the pupil is too small. The Aqua eyes are very pale. I think that I prefer the Mako 12mm eyes.

Here are the 10mm Shimmermint, 12mm Aqua and 12mm Denim Dollbakery eyes.

Soleil at a doll meet today in one of her new dresses!

 

She's very cute! You know, that little face is definitely starting to grow on me. For years it seemed no one liked her, or ordered her, so she very rarely ever showed up in pictures. But as soon as they discontinued her, lots of people seem to have ordered her, and she's appearing quite frequently now. She really is rather cute.

 

@hyssop - Thank you! And your Soleil is so darling. You are right...even with the same faceup they look so different. I love her pretty yellow dress.

I'll be cross posting this.... I know Cheery Doll makes clothing for the EID/SID and nYID's squeak in too but does anyone know if JID's (middle size bust), KID's or BID's fit their other sizes? I don't know the dolls they typically use. I would so love some of the new stuff for the little ones! Help?

Martin's campsite looks so realistic! You did a great job with his gear. He is ready for tennis, baseball and playing his guitar and harmonica around the campfire. He should have fun at summer camp for sure.

She is really pretty! I am new to Iplehouse, is Erzulie a sculpt that they dropped?

 

I am not sure if they dropped her or not. She was one of the Elemental Guardians, but they were offered as a special doll several times.

I didn't know that about Doll Choice when I was ordering my Aki directly from Iplehouse. I bought my other 2 BIDs here on DOA.

Thank you, she is a real cutie! I have an 'Anne' on order right now and already own a Bonnie. Iplehouse came become addicting!

 

Has anyone restrung their BID? Soleil is quite floppy in her head and torso but I got intimidated after peeking in there- the other dolls I've tightened were strung all in one piece and it seems like Soleil has three sets of elastic! Any tips?

 

I thought you might like some Anne spam to tide you over.

Mine were a bit loose too. I didn't do a complete restring, just undid and tied knots further down the elastic.

 

Thanks ~ she's so cute! And ironically I just got home from a doctor appointment to find out I missed her delivery! This will tide me over until tomorrow when I can pick her up!
