Impldoll Waiting Room v3!

I ordered my Joshua direct from Impldoll back in December, and they told me about 3 months to make him. He's my first doll, and I am trying to be patient but it's getting hard lol. What would be a normal/acceptable delay before poking them for an update?

 

Well, @Brytewolf - I don't know if ImplDoll is anywhere near Alice's Collections, but there are parts of China that are currently shut down due to a new wave of Covid-19 infections. ACBJD says that the shutdown generally is lifted two weeks after the last new case, and they're posting daily updates of new cases. All shipping and receiving is halted during the shutdown - so I'm guessing I won't be seeing my Charm Doll body for awhile, either (also a Chinese doll company).

 

Oof ye I forgot they're having a new wave. I'll just sit patiently until it finishes rolling through, I've waited this long a month or two extra isn't gonna be so bad. Thank you for the info!

 

Hey there, sorry if I missed a part of your postings here. I recently have spoken to Alice's. I ordered a Vicky and a 72 boy body Jan. 13 and got a text saying that I had a package ready at FedEx( which was not a true text but I thought maybe I missed an Alice's collection.) They said my order was not ready yet but they would let me know when it was and that Impldoll sends our orders straight to our houses and not through Alice's, so not sure when you ordered yours but I didn't know they were having more shut downs now. I hope you get some replies soon and best wishes! .

 

Oh man, I would have been so excited to get that text...and then so disappointed xD I'm sorry that happened to you! I ordered my Joshua directly from Impldoll at the very tail end of December, and saw that the November orders had been received so I was anticipating. But now with the shutdown, I don't know when they'll get my boy out. I hope Impl's staying safe. Thank you for the well wishes, and I hope you get yours soon as well!!

These days, 3 months isn't late no, sadly. And with shipping getting even worse with everything else, it's probably going to just end up getting longer. There will definitely be pictures of my boy when he finally arrives! 8D

 

I have had a few Impls in the past but Joshua is a very handsome man. I haven’t had much of the larger ones but I have a 72 body coming for my Modoll SPN head.

 

He's my first BJD! I fell in love with his little half smirk and couldn't resist xD I'm actually rather nervous about his size lol. I'm not sure I'm...prepared to have a doll the size of a child hehe. OooooOOOo you must be excited! Which actor (character??) from SPN do you have a head for?

 

I started out with small dolls but I’m kind of a fan of the 60 and 70 range. He’ll be superb!

it’s for my Sam head. I do have all three SPN in progress but this body is for Sam/ Jared. I am excited !!!

 

The 60-70 range does have the most appealing sculpts for me! I was hoping he'd be easier to get clothing for, being a big. But then discovered that the Idol body is by no means the norm oops lol. I still haven't been able to find him a ready-made shirt that fits his aesthetic.

I am a huge fan of the first 5 seasons of the show! You better post pictures of your crew when Sam gets his body!

 

Still here! At least as far as I know, my Azalea is still sitting at the post office where she was originally sent from. Looks like she arrived just in time for another lockdown, so when things are safe enough to be opened again, Impl will go pick her up and have her re-sent. Just glad she isn’t lost!

 

Im already got my my order link is on transit one its way i order a sadie with face-up and some 10 pairs of pack of eyes for it cant wait to have her this month

 

Well, I hope my Azalea isn’t lost….last time I emailed them was the 6th of April and they said they would check the post office. I haven’t heard anything since, but feel like asking again is being pushy.

 

Hello everyone. I'm coming here to talk about the BJD order I've committed because my IRL friends would surely judge me! (Perhaps for good reason).
I fell in love with Impl's Elise sculpt a while ago and am thinking she'll be a great fit for one of my D&D characters. Add in a night where I'm feeling impulsive, and there we go. I take it the wait will be long (I ordered through Alice's Collections), but fingers crossed it won't be like, 9 months. If it's long enough, the campaign whose character I'm getting the doll for will end for sure but it's nice that the character gets to live on. I'm feeling the post-purchase remorse right now, but I'm sure the thrill of unboxing and painting a new doll for the first time in 10 years will be worth it in the end.

 

Just paid the shipping for our giant order. Pretty sure the delivery person will be very unhappy with us when it arrives lmao

 

I finally have an update that my order is about to ship, and I'm spazzing now just waiting!!!! Soon, my mega order of D00M will be here! =flails=

 

I just put in an order for a Mona Star Doll, so I have a few months to wait. Especially with the state of the world being what it is, I'm not expecting her anytime soon. It'll be a nice surprise when she ships!

I got an email today saying my Joshua will ship soon! I ordered him in December directly from Impldoll, and was told about 3 months wait time. He's my first BJD so I'm so excited he'll be home soon!!

They still don't have my arm parts yet, I don't know if they're making a new mold or what, but I've been waiting since the beginning of last year.
They offered a head and some clothes as compensation so I asked for Plaice or Nicolas.

Not sure if I'm gonna be getting my arm pieces or not now, it was unclear.

 

What kind of arm parts have you been waiting on?

 

The 72cm biceps, I ordered the body without the extra mobility joints in the arms because they don't look right at all but they sent me those ones anyway. And I've been trying to get the right ones since.

I might have to glue the arm pieces together for now so I can actually use the body. At least now that the tan has mellowed out I can dye his head to match.

 

My doll has finally been located and I re-confirmed my address with Impldoll today! It’s been a very long time (she first shipped out in November), but my girl will be home soon.

 

So did your doll get lost in the mail, for 7 months? Wow! I'm excited for you have her coming home!!! .

 

My doll was accidentally sent to the wrong address, returned to sender, and the tracking stopped updating in March. I’ve been emailing Impldoll once a month since then, hoping I wasn’t being a bother, but she finally turned up.

I received my Impldoll 72 cm body today, ordered January 13 so possibly running on 5 months wait time. I noticed he arrived partially unstrung since they are cutting down on box size due to Covid. My Vicky I ordered the same day has not arrived yet so we’re checking on her to see if they normally send two dolls at the same time Or separate.

Thanks for the heads up! I was wondering if they'd sent and just not given me the tracking number, but I just checked with them today; they're still waiting for the hand blushing to be finished. Woe, woe is me lol. But SOON!!

My Lanny arrived today! He looks great I also received an extra head with him which I was not expecting so that was a nice surprise!

 

I am extremely happy to report that my Azalea arrived in perfect condition after her world traveling shipping experience. Impldoll even gave me an outfit and extra hands as gifts! ​

 

Congrats!!! I did receive my Aurora a couple weeks ago, but still missing my Pei Ying and Alberta head. The wait feels endless! XD

 

I just found out my Joshua shipped on the 14th! He is finally on his way home xD Now the hardest part of the waiting commences......

My order was placed at the end of December, and at the time they gave me an approximate wait time of 3 months. Ended up being around 6 and a half xD

 

That's such a long time. I just put in an order in May and it makes me a little worried, haha.

 

totally forgot to add it here, but i'd ordered a Crystal head in pink resin on June 8 and this morning i had a shipping notice with a working tracking number that shows her already on a plane to the US. super excited!

gotta say, i've found dealing with/buying from Impldoll directly to be a million times better and easier and faster than trying to go thru a dealer. my last order thru a dealer was very long and drawn out and frustrating, but i did this head order by directly emailing Impldoll, and the entire thing was as easy and quick as you could want-- they answered my emails within minutes, and in under an hour I'd told them what i wanted, gotten an invoice, paid, and had them confirm my payment and order. and now they've got the order on its way to me in just 6 or 7 weeks. seems like with this company, cutting out the middleman works much better.

 

@thedarkeststar13 That was my experience with the head event back in November as well!

 

Apparently, my Elise has now shipped out! I ordered her from ACBJD at the beginning of May, so the wait is shaping up to be 3 months with shipping included. The estimated delivery time to Finland is a week according to tracking, fingers crossed!

It was a big order with a bunch of little stuff that's not from Impl in addition to the doll, so I do wonder if everything is in that same package. They didn't give me indication that it wouldn't be.

 

From my understanding, there were two things that delayed my order so much. I got the full doll, but I added faceup and body blushing and blushing on my jointed hands. So a lot of extra work that adds to wait time. There was also a lockdown in China around the time my doll was originally supposed to be nearing completion, which understandably delayed everything for him.

From what's listed on the waitlist, the people that ordered before me and weren't effected by the lockdown did get their orders in the ~3 month production time I was originally quoted. And it also seems like they're back to getting orders out in a timely manner.

So don't worry! It seems I was just an outlier, and got the very short end of the stick xD He's my first doll so it was extra painful lol. I'm just glad he's on his way now.

 

my head is already in New York customs! stuff usually gets to my location about a day or two after they finish with it in New York, so i very well might have her this week

 

Impl offered me a free head as compensation for making me wait so long for the new arm mold so I asked for a Plaice. They sent him via airmail but I think he's in or almost to customs already. Can't wait.

 

well now i have no idea what is going on with my head...it was in New York customs, literally one state away from where i am (Pennsylvania), and then they sent it from there to...Los Angeles, California...??? skipping right over my location and going thousands of miles past me, all the way to the opposite coast of the entire country????

who knows when they'll send it back east...or how long it will spend bouncing around the United States for no good reason. i hate trying to get anything in the mail so much anymore....

 

HMMMMMMM is yours also going through SF Express? My Joshua said it was in San Antonio 2 days ago (where I live), and then no movement but an update late last night that he was in Irving, TX for some reason?? And it no longer gives me an estimated delivery date. He was originally supposed to be delivered by today but I'm just very, very confused what the shipper is doing!

 

YES it is SF International and i'm sorry your guy is also going to weird and random places but simultaneously kind of relieved it's not just me? if it's happening to both of us then it seems less like a fluke and more like how this shipper does things and thus maybe less like our dolls will just disappear...it's still stressful tho!

 

This is the first time I've had anything shipped through this company, so this is not what I was expecting lol. At least it's both of us suffering this stress together xD May your head find its way you swiftly and safely (not....not a sentence I ever expected to write lol)

I'm looking at my other two packages that shipped out this week (one a doll I was not expecting to ship so very fast!! And a set of clothes for my Joshua) and it looks like at least one of them is also SF Express/International so....ugh. I'm going to be going through this stress a lot!!!

 

@Brytewolf good luck to us both! it's my first time getting anything from this shipper as well-- i can't say it's my favorite so far, but as long as we get the packages, all's well that ends well. it's still better than having an order with Dollshe

 

I also have an SF shipment in transit ATM (Pei Ying). Mine simply says in NYC, and now just in transit, but nothing about customs or current location. Definitely seems the tracking info is a little buggy, maybe?

@TasiaChiba it very well could be the tracking info being buggy! I would much rather that than our packages just pinging all willy-nilly across the country.

 

@Brytewolf Agreed! Honestly, I feel like I vaguely remember a package earlier this year doing something similar. Where it was in NYC, then Cali or Oregon? Then back to the east coast in a few hours, lol. It was so quick I figured the system glitched.
