*rolls in* OMG that new body! I can't wait for the 68cm version. I have a character who totally needs a body like that. My only real complaint is that I wish they'd given her arms a bit more mass and definition. It's got this great stomach and nice legs, but then the arms are kind of noodlely.

Imara's very pretty, but I wonder if they'd let me get Eudora with this promotion.

 

I think you could, considering they sold Sicily through it, the worst thing they can say is no thanks

 

Hey can anyone here confirm on if Impldoll heads still range on the smaller side? Back when I had my Alma I remember her head wasn't huge. I just wanna know how it compares to a Ringdoll head.

 

My Sicily head is pretty darn small, even compared to my Iplehouse girl. I'm not sure how it matches up to Ringdoll however.

 

@Haven_Of_Dolls336 I'm hoping their newer sculpts are the same. I'm planning on ordering Imara to be the GF of my Ringdoll guy. I've had a hard time finding him a match that doesn't look bulbous next to him.

 

I find Ringdoll heads to be pretty small. But I think they work fine with Impldoll.

My Sicily and Davina both measure 19 cm. The only Ringdoll I have in Sun Ce on the 5 body, and I just measured him at 22 cm. Don't know about the smaller Ringdolls.

 

I have a Ringdoll Zhou Yu and his head is 20 cm so it should work out fine.

Oh also made my order today! I ordered Imara along with her outfit, eyes, and heel legs. I picked Davina for my free event head and opted to pay extra to get her a face up. This is my first Impldoll in over 5 years.

I had heard they plan on making a 68cm version of the new 62cm female body but I'm not 100% certain.

They are indeed! And they will offer the shoulder joints that the new Star MGB 65 cm body has, too. They said it would be a couple months yet.

 

Welp I guess that means I'm not going to be super attached to my current MGB body

 

I asked about the new boy body and got the following answer:
“We will have the new male body soon.” Can’t wait to see…

 

I buckled and ordered direct from Impldoll. I asked for all four sets of hands, the heel feet, and the heel legs, and apparently, they're throwing in the Imara head for free? I mean - not going to say no to a free head, even though the body is intended for my Impl Leona.
They said that they plan to ship my doll in September, which is pretty fast in the BJD world, in my experience (the doll will be blank).
Good thing I just got in a bunch of elastic. If the new body is strung anything like Lydia was, she's going to need a complete restring out of the box.
I think the person who strings Impldolls does arm wrestling matches with the Dream Valley guy.

 

I feel like I'm wrestling whenever I restring my MGB body so I fear whomever strings them tbh. I should really sell that body within the next few months...

I posted in this thread earlier asking some questions about hybrids, I figure I should share my results!

I put a Sicily head on a Fanff_11 Model 60 body since I wanted a 60 cm girl for my OC. Both the head & the body are meant to be a match for Volks normal resin, but they're maybe only about an 85-95 percent match to each other lol. I didn't bother doing any resin matching on the head, but the difference is almost imperceptible in real life. She's also got Dikadoll jointed hands which adds yet another resin color to the mix





The head fits really well! I suede all my doll's necks so I didn't really experiment with the mobility without hot glue sueding, but there's barely any gapping, mostly at the back where it's hidden behind the hair. I love her small head, she really feels like a tall adult when standing next to my MSDs who have the same 7/8 head size.

Eyes are very temporary, I do eventually want to make some realistic 10mm eyes for her myself. (Anyone have a rec for 10mm eye molds?) But otherwise I'm extremely happy with how she came out as she's my first OC I shelled as a BJD! So happy to have an Impldoll back in my collection.

 

She looks super pretty and I just got back my Sicily that I'll post later, she looks so different from all the others I've seen and she has me wrapped around her tiny fingers. I'm surprised you want to do 10mm eyes since my Sicily has gapping even on her 14mm eyes...

Awh thank you! I'd love to see your Sicily, it's such a versatile sculpt On the eye size, the eyes I have in her right now are 12mm and the actual eye fits the eyewell fairly well. (I don't actually have any 10mm eyes on me to try out the size.) I hope to get a range of eye mold sizes between 10mm & 16mm so I'll definitely have room for experimentation!

I honestly can't remember what I was asking about, it was I think over 6 months ago at that point. But I appreciate the link! After this recent success I see myself doing more hybrids in the future so I'll hoard all the info I can get my hands on

 

She is super pretty, thanks for sharing! Her faceup is so cute. I love how versatile Sicily can be, yours looks very different from mine And the proportions of Fanff body combo are spot on. Good job

Edit: I have 14mm and 12mm eyes for her, and I prefer 14mm, as 12mm already has some gapping.

 

I did some photos on the MGB body and man the neck joint is low-key super helpful even if it hurts my whole body to restring that darn body, featuring her very very much in love boyfriend.

 

How/where did you get the elf ears? :O

 

I modded them myself! Just using regular ol white miliput. It was my first mod ever and the results could have been better (I'm no sculptor by any means) but they're mostly covered by her hair so it all works out.

 

They look so good! My character also has elf ears (well, fairy ears I guess) but I'm too afraid to mod her ears...

 

Not to get too off topic but this video by Lomi's Playground is what helped me start and get thru the process, everything is broken down into easy to understand stages and made the mod seem less daunting:

To get ON topic, I have a Mona and I love her but I am contemplating getting a new head. I don't see that as an option on the website, can I email them?

 

I emailed Impldoll directly to get my Sicily head, it was was a very smooth and quick purchase! Seems like they had absolutely no issue with me just wanting a head. They just asked to confirm the sculpt/resin color & my shipping address and then they sent me a paypal invoice. The email I messaged was the one listed on their instagram I think? It's [email protected] I don't know about normal impldoll wait times but it only took a month between payment and having the head arrive :0

 

I ordered the Aurora War of Future head from ACBJD (before I changed my mind and added the body) - it was $100 plus PayPal fees, free shipping (white resin). But yes, I get the sense that Impl very much prefers if you order from them directly, because their turnaround time is faster.

 

It’s also possible to ask for a head from Christina of Cloversinging.

 

I noticed they do heads on their taobao store too, so yeah it's definitely possible

 

Does anyone know if Impldoll has discontinued some of their older sculpts? I was thinking about getting Nicolas at some point but I can’t see him on their site anymore.

 

He's available on acbjd as of right now, so you can probably send them directly an email, too.

 

They are definitely threatening to. Their previous sculptor had family health issues and ended up leaving the company, which may be why they discontinue some sculpts. I really don't want to buy much more this year, but I'm nervous about missing out on Alberta...

Does anyone else here have a Eudora? I am looking for a wig for mine but the 8/9s I tried on her were a bit loose so wondering if 7/8 would be better.

Don't have Eudora, but of the newer Impl girls I do have, stretchy 7/8 is the way to go. They have such small heads for their size lol

 

@LupusDarkmoon thank you i will have a look for some! the only other girl I have currently is a Supia and although from my experience Supia heads are on the smaller side even her wigs didn’t fit my Eudora

My Eudora wears a 7/8 wig no problem! I don’t have a pic because I’m not home but Eudora is a tiny head compared to some of the others and she fits 7/8 well!

Aurora arrived! They sent an extra head? I bought the head first, and then I asked to purchase the body. I only paid for the body... but they sent a full doll? I've emailed the dealer to make sure I don't owe them more money.

When I got my Lanny last year Impldoll sent me an extra head with him as a gift. I actually don’t know what sculpt the head is… I thiiink it’s Azealia but I am not sure xD

Does anyone know if the neck size changed for the TGB version 3 body? I tried a head on my older version and it looks great so I want to buy another. But if the neck is smaller on this version I won’t.
