And yes will definitely get him jointed hands!,want him to be able to hold hands with his future husband,Loki(yes I ship them)

 

Hello!! I have an Impldoll Joshua, and while I love his head...I definitely don't love his Idol body. It's just so big and bulky and not him (those shoulders man, those shoulders). I'm considering my options for hybriding his head onto something more slim.

I know Impldoll seems to have changed their resins recently. I got him about the middle of last year (he was ordered December of 2021). Do any of the lovely people here know of any decent resin matches for the current Impldoll Normal Pink resin? It doesn't have to be perfect, as at this point liking the body he's on is more important to me. I think once I know what companies to look out for, I can then go through their body options and see if I can find any that I like.

In the same vein, anyone that's hybrided a male Idol head onto a smaller body, which ones avoid the dreaded bobblehead? I am looking for slimmer, as I said, but this is my first time even contemplating hybriding so I don't know what kinda shoulder width I should be looking for. Shorter is fine, I'd just like to know how short would be too short lol.

 

to avoid bobblehead - measure from the tip of the chin up to where the hairline would be, multiply by 2. This gives you the shoulder width that particular head/face needs to look proportional. That's all I've got, no idea about the resin matching

 

update on my Thranduil,I gave him a face up and hand sewn a robe for him.
He doesn't have pants yet or the right wig,fingers crossed they arrive soon.

@Brytewolf I can't speak to this hybrid (yet) but I have one DFA body and one MYOU body I can attempt to hybrid. I'm currently playing musical bodies for my boys in tan because I HATE the Spiritdoll Proud body as much as it's possible to hate anything, and I'm getting sick of sewing for the Idol body too (bubble heads and butts galore)

 

That would be most appreciated, thank you! Any idea of how the Idol heads look on other shoulder widths would be stellar. I must also make a note to avoid the Spiritdoll Proud body myself then lol.

I haven’t been apart of a group discussion in many years but I wanted to pop in to share I ordered a Lanny head in grey skin with a custom face up.

I asked Impldoll for references of their new face up work on the “newer” Idol male heads in grey and they said no one has ordered one yet.

I sent them a picture of the Idealian Hyperon-Tempest Artist version and they said they would replicate it as best as possible. I also requested to not have his teeth painted and to just fill it in black.

I’m very curious to see how Lanny looks in such a different look. They said it should ship in July!

Happy to share a picture when he arrives if anyone has wondered what the new models might look like in grey and what they do with a custom face up request.

 

So I am not done playing musical heads with the females of the doll crew, moving sculpts around, reassigning characters and the like. The headsculpt is actually my modded 2016/7 Fantasia Doll Vivian (the erstwhile Warpaint-Adhara), which I repainted to now be her daughter.

Technically speaking, she has been a hybrid with Impldoll from the very beginning, but this time I gave her my custom-color MGB with the short shoulders. Because her head is on the petite side, she actually benefited from the shortened shoulders. That bod sorta disappointed me from day 1 (engineering issues, wrong color, etc.), but now I'm finally beginning to like it.

I’m hoping there’s a new boy body some day too. I have a head that needs a muscle body but I need a lighter weight guy these days.

 

I am hoping and praying that they adapt this to the MGB body and the 68 cm body. It is stunning!

I asked about neck size and shoulder width. The neck is 9.2cm and the shoulders are 15cm.

 

I really like the way they sculpted her chest (esp compared to the chest on my current muscle girl)!

 

I've been following the comments. Impldoll is promising to do multiple heights, multiple bust sizes, and MGB shoulder joints. The first body should be available for sale next month.
If they do this - all of my big girls are going to have Impldoll bodies, I swear.
Let me start saving up my money now.

 

Update number 2!
Impldoll is saying yes to the MGB shoulder joints - but they didn't say which size.
They plan to offer the 62 cm body, plus a 63 cm and a 68 cm body with small, medium, and large busts.

 

Update number 3: Last call for Aurora, War of Future! I asked Impdoll on Instagram about getting a blank face sculpt photo of Aurora, and they said that they are going to stop selling her soon.

It seems it also has the MGB's thigh joints? (Best thigh joints in my crew, BTW). While I love how the chest was sculpted a lot more naturally than before, I am still at two minds about the shrugging shoulders. There's a reason why I had the perma-shrug on my newer MGB fixed by a modder, haha.

 

that's. . . a huge step backward I hate the bicep joint, it's so fugly! If they wanted more mobility in that area the 2 part (4 part?) elbow joint that LoongSoul has on their newest big boy body (probably on other bodies as well, but I just have the 73cm boy) gives great additional mobility without the freaky broken arm look

 

I also hate the bicep joint. Always fighting with it. What happens if it’s fused with glue? No arms across the body?

 

Me either. I suppose I could play with it to see…

 

I’ve been waiting for someone with experience to inspire me.

 

Is it just me or did Impl do away with a lot more than their classic sculpts? I'm peeved about Aurora but I no longer want or need the character she was shelling.

 

My Darlene with her recently re-done faceup and some more in-scale piercings. I need to get her a guitar at some point.

 

What did you use for her piercings, I have been searching for something similar myself.

 

I used nail art beads from Amazon. I got a box with various sizes in gold and silver.

So my crew underwent major changes, with bodies being moved around to accommodate heads both new and old. My old MGB (that is still admittedly the best-posing female body in the crew) got reassigned to another character, who uses an Iplehouse Grace as a headsculpt.

The hands are gorgeous! I like the body except for the shrug thing and the very prominent nipples. She looks a bit too much like Sicily for me, but it is tempting. It's a very good deal.

I've never ordered directly from Impdoll before but I'm sorely tempted. How easy is it to order from them?

 

Legit I just did it, I copy pasted the form in the head event post here, filled it out, put my requests for the order, and they did it super fast. They used PayPal and sent me an invoice for payment.

@Haven_Of_Dolls336 Looks like I'm gonna have to wait until Alice's Collection adds her because I'm ordering another doll from them and would rather just wait and order them together. But I'm definitely gonna end up here regardless.

 

Makes sense, it only takes a day or two from past experience. I will be placing a small clothes with her only because I haven't found a particular color and size of eye on taobao yet. I admit I'm wary of doing another just clothes order bc I have one that's been shipping to me since April I just want to get the right eyes for my Impldoll girl

 

the new body is so incredibly gorgeous the way the stomach and chest are sculpted are perfect, the legs and hands ughh i'm so tempted to get it but sadly i cannot STAND the shoulders, most things i can look past when i like enough of the rest of it but unfortunately those weird slightly flared raised shoulders are not one of them

i will definatly look forwarding to seeing other peoples bodies tho

 

The new body looks really pretty, but I'm hesitant of getting an IMPL body because I've heart they've got quite some weight. How true it is?

 

they weigh about as much as any of my other large dolls. big dolls are kind of heavy - resin isn't known for being light, and it takes a lot of resin to make a bigger doll

 

I recently received my Eudora and I bought her with the smaller bust but I realize I prefer the medium size one. Does anyone here know if it’s worth contacting Impl about ordering a new bust piece for her? Thanks in advance

Honestly I have an Iplehouse SID and an MGB body, the MGB body is heavier but not by too much. I suspect it's average for a 65cm girl. She's lighter than my 68cm boy on the bright side. I can compare the Star Model and the NSID bodies when I get the whole doll back from the spa.

 

Customer service is faster by email than by their q&a on their website but when I've talked to them, they were really friendly and I bet they'd accommodate you

Aaaaaaah, I COMPLETELY fell in love with Imara. I need her. What the frick. I need to order her... I'm going to have to ban myself from looking at new doll releases from now, this is horrible! (haha)

 

Definitely gonna get Imara. She's just gorgeous! I actually kinda dig the shoulders of the new body but that's just me. I think they'll work well with certain clothing items

 

I LOVE the shoulders!!! They look super cute in my opinion. Though I understand it's not for everybody.

 

@MistyZenith I think they are too. But yeah, definitely not everyone's cup of tea understandable.

I hope the body poses well. It's been a while since I've had any hands on experience with an Impldoll. My last was Alma on the older body before they changed sculptors.

Glad I'm not alone on getting in on the new body. Though I just couldn't get into Imara. I tried for a little bit already had my eye on Sicily. So I asked Impldoll if I could get a free Sicily head instead and they said yeah. I'm so stoked for this. My first new doll in almost a decade. Guess I'll see you guys in the waiting room lol.

 

I used the event for the body and free Imara head and after laying in bed awake for two hours (lol), this morning I got up and wrote an email and asked if I could get a face up, too, and that was no problem!
I'm SO happy and SO excited.

 

This new doll is stunning and I'm struggling with FOMO for that sale buuuuut I need to replace my boy's body first before I add new girls. Bleh. Stupid adult responsibilities.
