I'm so torn. I'm going to order either Lanny or Ransom, but need to decide by tonight. He's just supposed to be a pretty boy himbo and member of the court in my fantasy setting, so I'm leaning towards Ransom (elf ears!!), but I've always liked Lanny (I think I could definitely pull off a clueless-but-cute look easily).

EDIT,: I went for Ransom! I will probably pick up Lanny next year, because he's GORGEOUS.

oh no he's even more stunning then i originally thought part of me was hoping he wouldn't look as good as the promo pictures so i wouldn't be so tempted but you have sealed my fate i must absolutely buy him!
if you ever end up with a ransom i'd love to see him as well his jaw is A++ lol

You're not imagining things! On average I think the largest Impldoll male heads are 23 cm circumference vs. 21 cm for many other company's 70cm bodies. And some doll companies make the 70+ cm dolls pin-headed... if I am remembering right my Xun Yu from Ringdoll is quite a bit less than 21cm.

 

Ooh good to know, I will make sure to order bigger size wigs for the Glenn I will eventually obtain. Are the girls the same way?

 

Oh cool! I will be curious what the release will eventually be if it ever gets released.

 

That's too bad, I've been interested in seeing some different images of her and what she could look like in different styles.

 

Sorry for the onslaught of questions but do you think 70cm clothing would fit the MGB body? I was really concerned about things fitting correctly and it happens that most of the clothing I like are boys clothing on Alice Collections... I bought a hoodie and leather shorts so I guess I will soon find out

 

She’s a big girl, so probably! I don’t have the MGB, but I have the muscular Star body right now, and she fits a lot of 70cm boy clothes.

 

From what I've been able to see on pictures, the 1/3 heads don't see to come with ears already pierced, unless I'm mistaken. Does anyone here has experience piercing them, especially regarding the thickness of the ears and fragility? Or if you'd advise to not to it and go with alternative options for earrings?

does impledoll have set sales during the year or do they just randomly happen? if they are set can someone tell me when they happen?

 

I haven't been following Impldoll's sales events lately, but the one's that's relatively consistent is their Anniv event, around late October. Not sure if they have Christmas, New Year, or Chinese New Year events.

I originally posted this in the T&D subforum, but I thought it might also be useful here because the bodies are from Impldoll. The head on the left, on the short-shoulder Starwoman MGB, is a T&D Xiao Bei (Age of 21 version, meant for the 75cm range). Surprisingly good fit and mobility (also good proportions, IMO).

On flat feet, the T&D/Impldoll hybrid stands at 66cm. But if you smack on the heeled feet, add some sueding, and put on killer heels like the one my IH Scarlet hybrid is wearing on the right, you could reach a height of 71cm.

Yes, I did not expect it to work, either. Mind you, the T&D head was meant for a LoongSoul body I have. But if others want to try out a male T&D head + female Impldoll body hybrid, the MGB is now verified as a possible option.

 

I don't usually feel the desire to post blank terrible cell phone pics, (though I love seeing others’) but I thought I would share my Davina since she officially has her own body.




This was my Christmas present to myself. Suitably for this angel character, it's from the defunct (?) Magical Angel/XMdolls, same model as the one my Supia girl uses but with large bust. My friend had a similar hybrid and upgraded her Supia girl to their Ballerina 60cm model some time ago, so this had been sitting in a closet for ~2 years. The body is probably a decade old at this point, but aside from a faint cigarette smell that I hope will go away with elastic replacement and sealant removal, it is in good shape. Though I dislike the look of the chonky knee joints on this body, I love how it poses as a whole, so I am happy to have another one. She is in need of some work, but it's still hard to believe this pretty doll cost me less than $150 all in.

Davina's head mod was finished last summer. Her head is actually smaller on this body than it looks in my bad photo--was trying not to emphasize her giant bosom by keeping a higher angle. She has a slight gap at the neck-- great mobility-- I'm super pleased. She's ready for a resin match and faceup, but there's no good place to spray sealant here until April, so this post and some tinkering with wig designs will have to satiate my excitement. I just love her expression. She seems wise and kind and just a little mischievous. Looking forward to seeing what else comes out as I do her faceup and make her more suitable eyes.

The silk robe she is wearing was originally made some years ago for a 70cm male doll, but I plan to alter it and the rest of the outfit to fit her. The angel-inspired fantasy character design doesn't fit with any of my other dolls, (and I hope this won't lead to an urge to shell her husband) but I plan to keep her faceup fairly simple and have her work as an extra in my modern photostories when not in her full regalia.

After about 6 months, she (sculpt: Mona) came in!



Sorry for the terrible cell phone pic (as well as the delay in posting, I got her last month). She was bought to be a character doll of Adelle from Bravely Default 2, and I was fortunate to find a wig that is close-ish to Adelle's hair (needs some trimming). The problem is that her head is smaller than I thought, but luckily I bought the wig in two sizes to be on the safe side.

I need to make clothes for her, and that will definitely be an adventure because it's been a hot minute since I have sewn anything, so she's just chilling naked in my closet with the other dolls while she waits for clothes. Impl doll shipped her half strung (I had to string her legs and her head on), which was definitely a challenge because the elastic was super tight, so her head is a little stiff, but the rest of her joints seem fine.

My Sewall from their Halloween promotion arrived (pretty fast - just two months!) He's a beautiful sculpt, will need some sanding in the inner eyes but is very detailed and otherwise I am very pleased.

quick question how long is the waiting time now with impldoll?

 

That largely depends on if you order a face-up or not and if something weird doesn't happen like with a few sculpts recently. I think if hard pressed to give an estimate for my own order, I think like two months is a reasonable estimate. (Not including the wait-time for some clothes and other stuff I ordered through Alice) Otherwise, feel free to check in the impldoll waiting room too

 

In the waiting room here I see an august order that arrived in November, so yeah, about 2-3 months. I ordered a bunch of heads In November, and I’m expecting them to ship around late February/early March depending on how many other orders are around them, because I ordered during an event.

 

I ordered mine (Mona on Star body, fullset) on October 14th and she was ready to ship on December 10th. The only extra were a single pair of shoes + stand from Alice's. Pretty quick all things considered.

 

I ordered a full doll with a faceup and waited about 6 months.

I'm going to buy through alicecollections because I need a wig and one pair of eyes,2-3 months seems reasonable to me to.

 

I really like the new Star girl on Impldoll's website, she has really lovely eyes and I like her outfit a lot. If you're looking for a big eyed sculpt, I think this is a great option. Welcome to impldoll

I was going to ask and if not, advertise for a split. It should be possible given they let me buy Eudora's outfit with my Sicily, but you never know.

 

i'm going to be buying a lanny in the next month or so but i can't figure out what resin to get him in, i know white and normal pink will be to light and dark tan probably? to dark but i'm finding it hard to find recent comparisons between real, tan, dark tan, and brown, impl seem to be changing their resin all the time lol

 

If I remember correctly, real skin is more like an Iplehouse normal, so if you are concerned about him being too dark, tan may be the way to go. I highly recommend searching for each individually to see what rough approximations can be made across other resins. Even if you don't want to make a hybrid, it can help you picture what you're getting into.

 

@Haven_Of_Dolls336 comparisons to other resins might be useful though i can't find a lot of recent ones, maybe i need to search harder, from what i have seen impls recent tan seems to be very 2006 spray tan in a bottle orange which is defiantly not what i'm after but that might just be how it looks in photos i think brown skin may be my best bet for a natural tan skintone but it's hard to tell from photos if it has a slightly grey cast IRL or if it's just my monitor

 

I have a girl in their brown and it was disappointingly light for the character it was intended for (now she's quite different than originally intended), but it truly is a gorgeous color! It doesn't have a grey cast to my eye. blank, indoor light

does anyone have a Eudora yet? I'm considering one eventually to go with my 'semi realistic 70cm' scale guys, but I'm not sure if I find the jaw too-too narrow.... beautiful eye shape though!

I got my Mona two days ago (she's absolutely lovely, I need to post the unboxing pictures this weekend!) and I would like to know what size of elastic people are using for the Star body?

She was tightly strung as most impldolls seem to be so I took her apart and now I'm in a bit of a pickle. I put 4mm in her body & arms, and the body seems fine, albeit a bit floppy so I'm going to redo it. The arms, on the other hand, seem to be every so slightly too narrow for that size and I suspect that the elastic is getting stuck in the elbow, which makes the wrists floppy or hang a little. I did try 3mm but I think it's too small. It's my first bjd so I'm a bit clueless about what are my options there

 

I got shock cord for my bigguns, it made them less floppy. There is also an interesting way to know some of the double-jointed torso bodies with string just for the legs and then a separate string for the torso and head. Makes it sturdy.
