IMPL dolls Star, Model & Idol Discussion 16

I got a pair of jeans for Massimo and they were a little small but I added two vents and now he looks like a floppy haired college boy. Very not him. They're Alice Collections house label so it's good to know they will fit with small adjustments.

 

There are a few TaoBao shops that now specialize in 'difficult' 1/3 scale girl clothes.
It takes a lot of browsing, but you eventually come across clothes labeled as 'Largest Sister' and the like that fit the Impl girls, at least if you chose small bust. 'MVS' and 'Four Pounds of Peaches' are two that come to mind.

 

Joining the bandwagon as I got impldoll star female body 63cm with medium bust for my switch Yunseol head.

The colour match is quite acceptable. I am kind of now wishing I got small bust for this body instead of medium bust as everything doesn’t seem to fit. My SD16 clothes are also too tight, coz her bosom is like stretches out the clothes and looks funny.

Does anyone know if Impldoll sell optional bust? Will getting the small bust be a better fit for sd16 clothes?

 

I was able to purchase extra bust. Depending on we're you ordered, you can ask to buy an extra bust. I bought my first body on Alice Collections and I emailed her and she let me know $40 per extra bust. If you are purchasing from Impldoll, you can email or post on their Q&A section. It was also $40 per bust directly from Impldoll.

Thranduil(impldoll Ransom) has new clothes and a sword!

 

I know it's only July first and they said July or August for the new muscle girl, but I'm hoping maybe they'll post the measurements soon!!

 

gotta give some people's wallet a break lol. It was hard enough resisting the 68cm girl...you hit me with a muscle mommy I might just cave lol.

I'm kinda hoping they're revising the muscle body, it pretty much looks like their other three new bodies. I loved how much 'definition' their older one had, there's not enough of that in the hobby imo.

 

I suspect you might be correct. The muscle body was supposed to be released last month - instead, they switched to the Idol body.
Not that I'm complaining, mind you. Two new bodies in one month probably would have caused me to sell both kidneys (I kid, I kid).
There were a lot of complaints on Insta about the muscle body - not enough definition, and the legs were too thin for a lot of commenters.
Me? I would have bought the doll as is. I love the Madeline sculpt. I think Impl is really knocking it out of the park with these new dolls.
Still praying for an updated MGB with those shoulder and neck joints. I love that body from the waist up, but the legs are super frustrating.

That's part of why I'm hoping they'll release more information soon. The stark lighting on monochrome B&W pictures make it hard to tell what detailing the sculpt actually has. Her abs and torso shape look really nice (i like it better than in the older one- it looks more natural and less stiff), and in the height lineup you can see she does have more definition in her thighs than the other girl bodies, but how much and how much muscle her arms have has been a little hard to tell from the images released so far.

 

Oh for sure, don't get me wrong, I was ready to snatch up the muscle body as-is myself!
I'll take what I can get - but if they give her bigger or more defined arms I'll be happy! Her legs are so-so, but if they made them a lil thiccer that wouldn't lose points for me (even if she won't be able to fit in pants lol)

They have definitely made her more realistic looking than the old body, I agree that it looks less stiff. I just battle to tell how much detail there truly is in those 'studio' black and white images, even the comparison shot. I just want muscle mommy arms and tummy

 

I end up surfing to get more difficult to get clothes for my Impldoll body. When I approached impldoll to purchase s bust, they told me the M bust is only slightly bigger. After some thought, I do prefer the look of M bust. Bought clothes from MVS, Endless and a few sellers whom confirmed with me their clothes fit Impldoll star model bust M.

 

I'm counting the days for Impldoll to release that new 75cm male body. It can happen just anytime now, according to their social media. Why they tease us so much lol

 

I don't have mine yet, but Impldoll posted an owner's posing reel of the new 62-cm body on Instagram. And I must have watched it at least five times already.
Maybe I should wait until mine arrives, but - I swear the new body poses even better than the 63-cm Star Model body. It just looks so refined. Man. What a stunner.

DHL recieved it today, so it should be with me by the middle of next week ^^

What hybrid are you trying? I still gotta order that body for my Mila but I'm terrified it's going to be too peachy for her like the body I ordered for a different doll with the same resin tone made in the same month

 

I have a Wei BJD Studio JiuJiu head in 'milk' for the body! She is super pale, like almost paper white. I got my 62cm in Impls white, but I don't really know what their resin tones are like. Nothing a faceup can't fix, anyway ^^

I am worried that the neck size diff might be an issue though... when I asked for measurements Impl told me it was 8.5cm, which is perfect for Jiu, but that was before they released the final product - its now 8.8cm. Hoping I don't have to sand her neck down, but I'll do it to make this work :')

The resin colour issues stresses me out so much :[ I'm sorry you might have that issue.
They cast my 'Dark Tan' head/hands before her body/heel legs and I'm so worried there's gonna be colour issues because of it :[

 

Impldoll's white has been a paper white in the past I think it should be okay

I bought some sartoriaj 1/3rd clothes for my spoiled doll Korone (an impldoll Sicily on the model body) and they fit her really well and look really good on her

It can be, but sometimes, SartoriaJ has sales. I have cleaned up during outfit sales. Shipping is still pricey, tho. Best if you do a group order with someone else to split the cost of shipping.

I feel like maybe it's me who has bad luck with impldoll. I ordered my first doll from them, then pandemic hit, so it took one year and a half for me to have it. I still have the doll tho and he is amazing, so for me it was very worth the wait.

 

It’s not just you. Like I say, I’m exceeding 4 months, and I remember someone else had a custom colour that took 3 separate tries for impldoll to get right. They literally sent her 3 dolls trying to get the colour right, and that took months to be resolved.

 

OMG. It's crazy. Well, as crazy as 1.5 year long wait. I changed my address, got married, the dealer I ordered the doll with went out of business, I forgot about bjd hobby and then received the doll And this time too, I am moving so I have to change my address with them. Hopefully this goes well.

Honestly, I think I did not order him in tan, but it was so long ago, so I don't know what happened, maybe it's my bad, but whatever, I love the way he looks I got a full set with a very nice wig(they picked the colour for me and it's good with his skintone), but his clothes stain, I had to wash black marks after and make some underclothes. He is a pretty unique sculpt in my opinion, face up and body blush are good and hold well - I dropped him multiple times, cause this man can't pose for shit He is so heavy you can use him for self defence and crack your enemy skulls with his ass and posing him is like a workout. I was in shock when I received my second doll from iplehouse - I thought all bjds suppose to be as heavy as Nicolas. I love him.

your Nicholas is a handsome doll!! The wig does suit him! I’ve had my fair number of run-ins with stainy clothes too—I have a couple dolls with vinyl bodies, and they stain at the drop of a hat.

It’s good to know how heavy the bodies are! I’m getting an older idol body for a floating head of mine, and then the new star girl for another girl of mine. I’ve handled their muscle girl body before, and it’s decently weighty, but not that much heavier than my other femme bodies of that size. I wonder how the idol will compare to my 73-75 cm chonkers!

I am waiting for Andreas head from them. I got head + face up. I didn't get a body, because he was sold on the same body as Nicolas - muscular and very thick, which doesn't work for this gentle young man.

For what color? I have a couple white iterations that are identical, a cooler tone normal pink, and a peachier normal pink I can give some ideas for

 

Oh, thanks, this is great! I ordered the head in "real skin" colour. And for the body I am looking for something like Iplehouse SID model body. Iplehouse skin tone doesn't look like it's a good match - peach tone is too pink, special real seems a bit darker than impldoll real skin.

 

I have my Marlon with faceup in real skin on a Loongsoul 73 normal yellow body v. 2. The head is a tad pink but mostly from the faceup. The neck matches better.

I don't see full body here, but his neck and hands seem to match the head really good Thank you very much, longsoul yellow looks like a great candidate for the hybrid.
Side question - where do you buy wigs? They look amazing

 

Ok well real in impldoll terms is like a normal yellow, I think telesthesia and dragon's normal pink would be a reasonable match as well.

@Fyrwenn I get wigs everywhere! I think the long shiny ones are from Moonlight BJD a few years ago. I buy wigs from Chinese sellers on Etsy a lot. GuluUp and BeckystudioArt. Also Cloversinging and Alice’s Collection. Ancient ones from Legend Doll and Stacy’s Pink Ocean.

I had to restring Massimo because ever since I removed his channel stopper he's been very sinuous...almost too sinuous. Now I'm using the 3-string method and I think I'm going to do this for my Aurora also. Anything to stop me upgrading her body with something new...

 

Silly question but what do you mean by three string? I'm having a hard time picturing it for a body that isn't like luts' pegs of hell...

If it's 3 strings total - one for the arms, and one for each leg? Or if it's four strings total, one for the arms, one for each leg, and then a second, traditional long string? But that would assume that two sets of elastic cord will fit through the channel, and at that point, I'd rather grab some plant wire from the hardware store.

Editing to add (my original question): is there a chance of Impldoll redoing the MGB girl body? I love everything from the waist up.
Or do I have to stop being lazy and just resculpt those knees myself?

If it's the method I'm thinking of, then it's 1 string for arms and 2 for legs (one each). That's what I use.

@Haven_Of_Dolls336 Lupus Darkmoon's tutorial is the right one, I use two super strong shock cords - one for each leg - and a separate one for the arms. Before I did it, he had a channel stopper at the top of his pelvis to direct the string, but it made his torso very rigid. Now that the stopper is gone and each leg has its own leg, he has the right amount of torso movement while being steady on his legs.

@MaleficentMrsofEvil The MGB body is so new, they probably haven't had enough time to work out the kinks for an upgrade, and to change the molds and so on.

For your incoming head, check out Doll Family, they're bodies are very nice for hybrids and they have a few more options in the slender 62-65 cm range. You can also try finding the OLD impldoll Star male bodies. I've got one and it's very slender compared to the TGB which is what Massimo is on.

 

True, I looked and found a body that would fit perfectly for that head. Thanks you for this idea There are many great slender doll bodies, I just need to find the best resin colour match at this point...

 

Also 2d doll has a nice 68cm boy body you could ask them to match T&D normal pink or dikadoll since they cast for 2d doll

On average, 3-4 months. They're really good at being fast and if you order something they happen to already have it's even faster.

 

In my experience, it depends upon who or what you're ordering. Impldoll used to be much faster, but the new bodies they've released (the 63 cm Model body, the 62 cm 1/3 body, and the 68 cm Idol body) have been extremely popular. My wait times are five to six months now. Custom colors will extend your wait at least another month or two.

I'm almost at month five for the 62 cm body. Le sigh - the downsides of popularity, I guess. Not that it matters. They are so worth the wait. And an extra month or two is not too terrible.

 

oh hmmm...that is good to know. I was hoping that if they release the muscle girl body this month or next month, that'd it'd be to me in time for the con in March, since i'd heard they had about a 3-4 month turn around, but with those wait times (and that she keeps getting pushed back) it sounds like that's probably pretty unlikely :/

 

I got my model body (the one that came out with Imara and had the wider shoulders) in like 3 months. But I placed order the day it came out so maybe that helped. I can't believe that was a year ago already...this year went so fast.

I decided to risk it and order the beautiful Kamara in the star model body with brown skin. God willing I hope I’m part of the lucky ones that get their dolls in the 3-4 month time frame.

I order from the site and when I added my address it didn’t give me an option to add my state. So I just put it along with the city. I hope they use my PayPal address instead
