IMPL dolls 64cm Star, 58cm Model and 72cm Idol line Discussion thread Part 4

Feb 5, 2014

    1. Ahh...AlisonVonderland your Delia makes me happy! I was just dying to see some good owner pics of the dark tan resin, as I have a dark tan Star Bella on my wish list. It's such a lovely colour. Your girl is very striking; I like her a lot! :)

yay Ipledreamer! I'm looking forward to seeing your Captain America! Also, congrats on getting Loki all finished, OT for this thread or not. :D

Yes, I agree with you elve; in the beginning, 9 photos are probably not enough to get a grasp on how a camera behaves. Right now I could probably take 9 photos and have a good general idea of how a camera is going to perform, but for a beginner I'd recommend taking way more than that. Also, it's not unusual to have a high ratio of actual shots versus useable shots in the beginning. 60:1 doesn't sound all that shocking to me. As you get more experience, that'll go down. I'd say my average now is about 5:1 and sometimes all of them are useable...it's just a matter of which one I prefer. With my p&s, my ratio is more likely to be 10:1 or 15:1 depending on the lighting conditions. Most experienced photographers do "safety shots" so even if the first photo eventually ends up being the one that gets used, there are others to choose from in the event that the first one isn't 'the one'.
Gabriel says he's glad that he's out of reach of your "faithless boyfriend stick" and is cowering at the very idea of it. :atremblin He says he really regrets his moment of indiscretion and hopes that he's going to be forgiven. :eusa_pray Thanks as well for your lovely comment for Noé.

My goodness Ishtar are you still waiting on your Tony? I wonder what's happened to him? I'm sorry to hear that you haven't got him yet, and I really hope you don't have to wait too much longer! I want to order my Tony soon so that maybe he'll get here before my birthday. I'm glad you're enjoying the drama of the various members of my resin household. They give my imagination the daily workout it needs. ;) Zach is having his turn with the body at the moment, and he is indeed spending time with Élise, much to the consternation of both Noé and Gabriel. Élise says thank you to Guillame for his empathy, and I'm sure she would willingly cry on his shoulder. (She seems to have a thing for Gnaeus ;)). I'm hoping to finish shooting a photo story this weekend, so with any luck everyone will get to see my crew in a new story soon.

    2. oh wow it sounds better than a soap drama SapphireStargazer *settles down with a bag of popcorn to watch* I just hope nobody gets hurt too bad :XD:

thanks Ishtar - I'm looking forward to seeing your Tony too! :D I really love my big man - although I do seem woefully fickle, as I seem to remember I more than really loved my Marcus too :? I really can't see me going off Tony though - he's just so lovely, and more to the point, does NOT remind me of a couple of my ex's, as Marcus did! (So I eventually realised!) I only wish Tony DID remind me of at least one of my ex's - oh well a girl can dream :XD:

    3. lol elve there certainly are some complicated dynamics among the resin folks at my house. I'm sure it will all get sorted in the end, although Gabriel may never be allowed to travel again. ;)
I've got a new speedlight which has finally arrived and which I have to pick up from the camera store today. I'm excited to be able to play around with that. My friend who is a professional photographer taught me how to use it, and once I saw what an improvement it could make, I really wanted one of my own. Now, I am finally getting one! :celebrate I can't wait to test it indoors for portrait work outside of a controlled lighting situation. Zach (who has the shiniest hair and is therefore most likely to suffer from what I call the 'glowy head effect' when using flash) is going to be my test subject. He says he's eager to flaunt his manliness in front of the camera pose for some portraits.

      //ETA 1st June//
My new speedlight is awesome! This photo was shot with flash, at night, in regular room light (compact fluorescent) without the benefit of photographic lighting. You can tell it was shot with flash, but the fact that the speedlight can be directed and bounced off something instead of being aimed directly at the subject like a built-in flash, makes a HUGE difference. Also, my speedlight has it's own diffuser, which I used for this shot. It's slightly underexposed, but I still like it.

    4. I've never heard of that kind of flashlight SapphireStargazer - great idea for doll photography if you're normally out at work in daylight hours - very useful for the winter months! :)

So I see the title of that photo is 'bedroom eyes' ??!! Why do I suddenly feel afraid for Elise? :ablink:

    5. Thanks elve! In winter, I quite literally am at work during all daylight hours, as we only have about 8.5 hours of daylight in the darkest part of winter. Right now, there's plenty of daylight and sunset isn't until 9:30 p.m. or so. The speedlight can be really useful in almost any lighting conditions, though. I used it outside yesterday in brilliant sunshine to cut down on harsh shadows in some shots. A 'speedlight' is actually a camera attachment that behaves similarly to the built-in flash on most cameras; it's not on constantly like a torch, but only fires when the shutter button is pressed. Mine has a slow sync setting, which is awesome because it doesn't force the camera to use a faster shutter speed when firing the flash. I can use a slow shutter and fire the flash, which is how I can get photos like that one ^^ in low light. Speedlights generally look like something like this (you've probably seen them before). :)

lol that was just Zach being cheeky for the camera. :wiggle He was playing with the Rubik's Cube and didn't want to pose for me just at that moment, so I told him to think of Aubrey (Tony). Then he was like, "Can I take off my shirt?" :XD: He's actually being very gentlemanly with Élise, which is a bit of a surprise, especially considering his tastes are wide-ranging and his morals are questionable. ;)

Here's Zach playing with the cube. This photo was shot at a focal length of 26mm with aperture of f/4.2 and shutter speed of 1/30. The ISO equivalent on this shot was 800. Light sources were overhead compact fluorescent and Energizer ENF-600N speedlight.

    6. SapphireStargazer; Those photos of Zach are fan-tastic! (I love the first one especially!):love

I might have been able to send some Thorne spam Zach's way today, (I know he's not Aubry, but hey...)except that my #!!@**^%!! local post office has done it again! :doh
Friday, I tracked the M3Studio parcel on the web, to my local post office where it had arrived at 9:00 a.m. But the expected delivery date said Saturday 5-31-2014. Okay fine, I wouldn't expect it until the next day; so that afternoon I took a little nap. Saturday morning I decided to check the USPS website again, just to make sure my package was out for delivery. I almost passed out when it said they were unable to deliver it Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m., and returned it to the post office. Mail delivery at my house is very erratic, but I checked my locked box and found the card from the post office. It said I could pick up my mail on Saturday, after 8:30 a.m. at the main post office.
(It did not say how long the package pick up window was open on Saturday.) Naturally, they were closed by the time I got to the post office.:x Since I couldn't get Thorne's clothes on Sunday, I'm going to be up at the crash of dawn on Monday, go to the post office and threaten them with my cane, to cough up my package! Not only that, but whoever the idiot was who tried to deliver (so HE says) my package, had the address on the card he left, with my house numbers, but three streets south of me! Did the fool try to deliver my package there, write out the card, then discover he had the wrong address, and just put it in my box???!:roarI am positively furious. This is not the first time something like this has happened. I could have had Thorne all dressed, and maybe a decent picture to post, but due to the USPS. I've lost my whole weekend, for what I had planned to do. I think I'll go out into my garage with my box knife and attack a bunch of cardboard boxes I've been saving to put in the recycle bin. I can stab and slash to my heart's content, and pretend it's the mailman.:wiggle Aaarrrrgh!

    7. oh dear Grouchy Gnome that is infuriating - and terrible service! GAH!!!! I feel your frustration! It is maddening when all these little things happen to drive us crazy - Give those boxes a good kicking before you rip them to shreds LOL

Lovely photo SapphireStargazer - it is beautifully lit, although the technical details are lost on me! I've been really distracted for a few days and barely gone near my dolls - I really must get my camera out again tomorrow and do battle with it once more :)

    8. Oh no!! Grouchy Gnome, your letter carrier and my letter carrier must have trained at the same school for incompetent postal workers! :doh Your story sounds way too familiar to me. I'm really sorry you're having difficulties with the mail service and that your weekend plans got derailed. Hopefully you'll be able to get Thorne's clothes tomorrow. :eusa_pray Meanwhile, attack those boxes! Nothing like a good workout to relieve your stress.
Thank you so much for the compliment for my photos! I'm having way more fun than should be allowed just by virtue of a new camera accessory. ;) Zach isn't complaining, of course. He equates my enthusiasm for my new toy with lots of attention for him, and says that it's about time he found his way into the spotlight again. :XD:

Thank you, elve. :) Sorry for all the jargon...I know not everyone's going to understand what it means, but I figured somebody might be interested in the technical details so I decided to share them just in case. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your photos. hehe...I'm curious as to what Richard and Elodie are getting up to these days. ;)

Zach went outside for the first time today, and I decided to experiment with lens flare. The sun was behind him for this shot. This may now be one of my favourite photos of all time. :aheartbea There are more from this shoot in my flickr.

    9. ah that is lovely SapphireStargazer - not just the way it's lit but the colours too - all that black and green - very striking :aheartbea As for Elodie and Richard, well they are still just good friends :XD: I don't think they're in any hurry to take things further, mainly because I'm so lazy I hate moving my dolls around LOL

    10. Hello, Everyone! Well, I was second in line to get into my post office this morning.*_*To make the story very short, I was pissed, I let the guy at the counter know it, and why, then I snatched my package and limped out the door. I'm not usually such a biyotch, but I felt
I had good reason and I didn't care who knew it.:x

When I got home and opened the package, I was happy to find the pants, the shirt, and ONE pair of sheer leggings (anti-stain protection.)
I had ordered and paid for 4 pair. So I sent an email to them at the Questions/Problems address on the bottom of the order. I would like to place another order, but not until this situation is resolved. I have to believe that it will be taken care of.

I don't get discouraged easily, but it seems like one thing after another has caused me grief with my dolls here lately. It's like I'm sitting under a black cloud :eek:of bad luck. I'm going to dress Thorne today, and find wigs for a few others, and if I don't break a limb or drown in my bath tub before morning, I WILL take pictures to post, even if they are not the best. Maybe I just don't do best.:pout:

Sapphire; those pix of Zach are absolutely yummy! When will he get his own body? Gabriel is gorgeous. But I can't help myself. I'm always a sucker for the bad boys.:XD:

Elve; , Just give Elodie and Richard a little private corner where they can get acquainted better, and just wait. You may be surprised what will happen.

    11. ohhhhh no - no more YOSD in my house! :eusa_naug Grouchy Gnome I hope you can get the issue of the leggings resolved ASAP - If it's any comfort, they aren't essential - could you use baby tights/pantyhose instead maybe? I am looking forward to seeing your photo - just the one! :D

meanwhile I have finally discovered the right setting for my useless camera! :dance A3 size (not VGA - the resolution's terrible) and NIGHT SHOT which has flash automatically turned off! So the shutter is open for longer (as the stupid camera assumes it's dark if you've chosen that setting) so I get a better photo - it automatically knocks the exposure down too for some reason (ie the picture looks darker) I do need a tripod ideally, as the shutter's open so long you can't have any movement, but I've found that holding the camera on the top of a chair-back is just as steady - if only it's the right height! Not taken any pics of Richard (Tony) today though - just for a flickr group (thank you SapphireStargazer) :)

    12. Grouchy Gnome, I'm really glad you got Thorne's clothes, but sorry to hear of your ongoing issues with M3. They can be difficult to deal with. I actually had to threaten them with a PayPal claim the last time I had issues with them regarding an order. They will get it sorted if they feel sufficiently pressured. ;) We're not fussed about the quality of your pictures. MORE TONY PLZ. :XD:
Thank you so much for the wonderful praise for Zach's photos! He's a great model. I've been trying to shoot a photo story, part of which requires outside photos, and I just got chased indoors by the idiot man who apparently feels it's necessary to cut limbs of my neighbour's tree that hang over my fence, and doesn't want me anywhere in my back garden because of his "concerns". wtf? The limbs aren't that big, that I couldn't be in my back garden at all. *facepalm* I think he was just feeling paranoid because I was outside with a very impressive-looking camera. :sigh I'm feeling very annoyed right now, because the lighting conditions are perfect for what I want, and who knows how long I'll have to wait for a day like this to come around again. *whiiiiine* This is the second time I've tried to shoot for this photo story. Maybe this is a story destined never to be told. :(
I'm not sure when Zach is going to get his own body. I'm waiting to see if IMPL has a summer event. I'm probably going to order my Tony quite soon, though. I've been putting off for a while, but I don't think I can wait for a summer event to get Aubrey started on his journey home.

LOL!!! Yes, you do have to watch out for that sort of thing. ;) I gave Gabriel and Élise a private little corner where they could get acquainted. They did just that, and now we have a little Yo-SD on the way. Gabriel is still more or less in the dark about this :doh although Noé and Zach have both worked it out.

I'm glad you got your camera settings sorted, elve! On night portrait mode, the exposure value shouldn't be lower. It should always be neutral unless you adjust it. The darker-looking photos are probably happening because your camera doesn't have a high enough ISO equivalency. The higher the ISO number, the more light the 'film' absorbs. For night portraits, the ISO speed should ideally be at least 800. It may also have something to do with the aperture your camera chooses for that mode. Also, the image sensor in your camera may not be very powerful, which causes it not to perform as well in low light. As for tripods, you can get really cheap small ones for point and shoot cameras. They're great to place on a tabletop, stack of books, etc. With long exposures, the less physical contact you have with your camera, the better, as it avoids ghosting and camera shake, so tripods are a great tool. Backs of chairs, tabletops, desks and windowsills also work nicely. ;)

    13. just incase anyone's interested in the performance of my lousy camera - I've put a before and after photoshop on my flickr now, of dz stramonium - Really what would I do without photoshop! :? That is absolutely the best my camera can do LOL - I have pulled out all the stops!

    14. Hi, anyone knows it? Impldoll Model girl's body in a line the upper part of the arm, what is it? There will also be moving your arms?

    15. Yes Tristen - the impldoll have an extra joint in their upper arm - it is really good for posing! :)

    16. Yeeesss very good! Thank you Elve.:)
(Elve, we see you everywhere ... :))
There is someone here perhaps Impldoll Aigne?

    17. I wish also to share that basing on IMPLdoll notice the company is now renewing the star line body :)

    18. Wow cannot help to come here for spotting some eye candy pics! ;)

    19. elve, the difference between the original photo and the edited one are really dramatic! I think your camera isn't allowing in enough ambient light, which is why the photos look dark. It's probably got to to with the image sensor...not much anyone can do about that. I think you're doing amazingly well with the camera you've got. There's nothing wrong with the edited version of that photo at all, nor with the original for that matter, even though it's dark. The photo is really cute. :)

$abbatha, I saw that too. looks like the Star male body is going to be updated at least, for the new boy they're working on. I'll be interested to see what improvement they have made to the Star bodies.

Eye candy? I can do eye candy. ;)

    24. elve thank you!

    25. awwww she's gorgeous Dobraya Vedyma :love Please post lots of photos of her! I think I like her more than Delia now I see her 'in real life'

although I did love Delia in dark tan..... oh really I need both of them LOL - shame I have just spent all my birthday money on other dolls - maybe next year! :XD:

    26. Elve thanks again!
      for fun -

    27. Dobraya Vedeyma hahaha I ABSOLUTLY love this picture with Darth Vader :aheartbea

    28. oh she's so cute Dobraya - I need a Sylvia GIRL after all - she has so much character! :D

    29. Dobraya Vedeyma thanks so much for sharing these amazing piccies of Sylvia :love
I would love to see more mature female sculpt from IMPLdoll..sadly company is taking a different route..:sigh

    30. Amazing pics Dobraya Vedyma, is such great see some Sylvia spam!
About new ImplDoll projects well are plain and boering, seems that company isn't really interestd in nothing than just male dolls...

    31. Dobraya Vedyma, your girl is beautiful and so full of character. My favourite photo is the beach one, but I also love the Darth Vader one. That made me LOL

    32. SapphireStargazer; That last close up photo you posted of Zach, is truly Delicious! :D(I agree with Elve.....Om nom nom, indeed!)
Dobraya Vedyma; I love all your pictures of your Sylvia! I've only posted a couple of pictures of mine, and I'm no photographer.
(But I'm trying to learn.) Darth Vader was great with her! Very funny. Congratulations! ;)

    33. Thank you Grouchy Gnome! I'm glad you like it. :) Zach has been enjoying all the attention he's been getting lately. He says I should get new photography equipment more often. ;) Now...if only the weather would cooperate so I can finish shooting the photo story I've been trying to shoot for the past week and a half. :doh This is one of the outtakes from what I've managed to shoot so far. There's a more fulsome explanation in the photo description of what's actually going on here...

    34. awww and there we were thinking Zach was predatory - but really he's a strong, reliable guy :aheartbea (who knows how to play a long game no doubt LOL) That is a very sweet photo SapphireStargazer - brought a tear to my cynical old eyes :daisy

$abbatha and $avage I totally agree with you - I was really hoping for more big girls to choose from soon, but it seems not! :sigh

But never mind - Dobraya's Sylvia has won me over - I already loved that sculpt as I had a blank head freebie with my Marcus - but couldn't see it as a girl till now. I don't think she is conventionally beautiful as Delia is, but really she has lovely character - and I get bored very quickly with dolls which are 'just beautiful' - I have one like that already (Richard's girlfriend) and I don't need another! *now saving up for Sylvia*

    35. Thank you elve! lol Zach is predatory, but he does manage to respect some boundaries. Generally, he tries to restrict his predatory habits to men or women who aren't already attached and mostly leaves the attached ones alone. Plus, he genuinely likes Élise and wants her to be happy. He may not want to admit it publicly, but our resident bad boy isn't all bad. ;)

As for the Idol women, Sally is still my favourite. I love how much character the idol women's faces have, and I would call all of them - even Delia and Deborah - 'handsome' as opposed to 'beautiful'. If there was a non-vampire version of Deborah, she would probably be on my wish list. Right now, the only IMPL female I have on my wish list is Bella in dark tan. I was kind of hoping that IMPL would make some more realistic sculpts in the Star and Model sizes the way they've done with the Idols. I find the Star and Model males are particularly stylized. Looks like the new boy is going to have a less stylized face, but I'm not really keen about the lizard on his head...

Also, is it just my browser, or is IMPL's web site down again?

    36. it's working fine for me SapphireStargazer - I really like Bella too, she will look great in dark tan! I really DON'T like the Star female body though - it looks very long waisted to me? On their gallery page though impldoll say they're making a new one ASAP (once they've finished their latest line of superhero!) So I look forward to that - impldoll are really the best posers I've got, I love how they engineer their bodies.

I did an image search on Sally as there are no profile pics of her on impldoll's website - I really liked her till I saw some owner pics of her profile. She seems to have a kind of 'The Simpsons' nose and mouth? But she looks really lovely from the front - she was the first idol girl I took a fancy to - I have worked my way through them all now except Deborah LOL - and really it's only her teeth which put me off (I scare easily!)

    37. It seems to be working for me now too...must've been a momentary glitch. :?

Sally does have a huge nose lol. Her face looks really masculine to me, which I think is the reason I like it. It's different. I think she looks better in the darker resins, though. Some of the photos I saw when I did an image search for Sally showed her with an extensive facial scar mod, which was quite interesting. It's Deborah's teeth that put me off too, but not because I find them scary. It's just not an aesthetic I happen to like. I really love the rest of Deborah's face, though. She's by far the most feminine of the Idol women in my opinion.

My IMPLs are my best posers too, although my IslandDolls are also really good. What impresses me the most about IMPL is that the tiny dolls have almost all the same posing features as the large ones. Oliver (Baby Koko) is by far my best and most realistic poser. And on the subject of posing....to those with Idol men, is there a trick to stable standing for these guys? The body I have seems really unstable and I thought at first it was because of the size, but Noé (Dollmore Model M Kyle), is nearly the same height and that body stands more solidly. I'm finding that the thigh mobility parts slip around quite a lot and this seems to be affecting stability. The body is strung fairly tightly, so I'm not sure what the problem is now. Do other people notice that their Idol men aren't particularly solid standers?

    38. SapphieStargazer Malik stands like a rock if he once posed. I left him standing in my room for several days and nothing happened

    39. That's interesting Uminari. I could never leave my Idol body standing by itself unattended in a room. I often have to catch it when I'm trying to take photos of Zach or Gabriel because this body is not stable at all and randomly falls over without warning. I must be doing something wrong...either that, or the stability issue is just another one of the defects with my Idol body in particular.

    40. Regarding females mature sculpts: sincerely so far i like merely Sylvia, but especially after seeing here piccies of her i noticed some close similarities with Migma Soom, that doesn't mean that i do not like her but as i own already Soom Migma is not interesting to me to get a similiar head sculpt, nor i'm saying that IMPLdoll made it on purpose to sculpt an head very close to soom easthetic ;)
I'm not fond with Sally, at first i thinked to get her head only to make as a boy, then i re-thinked about the whole thing :| which is typical of me..i mean i change my mind oftern
I'm on the fence still for Idol boys, too big for me..so i will wait to see some more mature female sculpts cause atm i'm not interested in any female molds IMPLdoll offers for idol female line.
I like also John..but again i'm not fond with vampire dolls :sweat
Impldoll site is working just fine for me atm :)

    41. Uhmm well not a huge fan of Idol Female heads so far available, i was hoped for something more mature, not that Silvya isn't lovely but compared to Idol male sculp i found female heads less realistic.
Sally personally is too manly to fit my tastes, she also have that hump on her nose that made her look like a younger skater boy that had a crush...:sweat

    42. So what are all these projects I keep reading about on here? I go to IMPL's site whenever I read something here and I'm all excited then I'm like wtf where is it? lol

Just my 2 cents. Delia is my favorite of the Idol girls. And I actually considered Sally to be a Cristina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil inspired doll. But most of the time when I look at Sally I see Aeryn Sun (Claudia Black) from Farscape lol. I really want a Delia, but I just don't know what I'd do with her lol. Don't think she'd fit into my little band.

And speaking of my "little" band, I'm making some progress on Zoey's drum set. Found some cheap drums just the right size for bass drums and how convenient cause Z wants a double bass kit. Might get some faux leather fabric tomorrow for the stool. Either way Z is getting impatient. She says it's not fair that Syd has her guitar and Maria has her microphone. I just put her back in my closet, close the door, and let Syd, Maria and the BaB ponies deal with her.

    43. Blueboy57; The "War of the Future" Star Line project is previewed by clicking on the word "Gallery" at the top of the home page on Impl's website. Anything else, I don't know about. :)

    44. blueboy57 how cute seems that hard rock/heavy metal band are pretty popular atm, expecially drummers with double drum bass which one of my character have as well ;)
Imo Sally would look great just for a young boy, i know i repeat too often recently but no wya i could see a female in her sculpt LOL

    45. Blueboy you know what? I got an character an hybrid Mirodoll/Angelsdoll and he is merely an heavy metal god, no kidding  and he got already SIX guitars but he wants moar!!!

    46. Thanks grouchy gnome.

Ugh not a fan of that hair thing on his head. I don't like the idea of molded hair to begin with but that lizard haircut just seems uber lame. Sorry for the harshness but just yeah lol. The hands look cool though.

Went into guitar center today to look at real drums to get a better feel. I felt like a fish out of water lol. Only instrument I can play is an ocarina and by play I mean I memorized like 6 Zelda songs. Needless to say I wasn't there long...didn't want anyone to ask me any questions lol.

    47. blueboy57, I agree about the lizard hair. I really hope they make a 'human' version of him because his face looks like it's going to be mature and fairly realistic. Somehow I doubt they'll make a human version, but I guess I can still hope... ;)

    48. I really like his face but the lizard on his head is a real bummer. Maybe I will try to sand it off...

    49. I...kind of like the lizard hair...

    50. Just dropping by with some photo spam. :)
See how much Zach accomplished this weekend? He basically crossed off everything on his to-do list.
      1. drink beer (as evidenced here)
      2. work on tan
      3. be awesome

    51. The more i see pics of new ImplDoll project the more i'm not impressed, even the sculpt is more less like Tony...
About drum kit blueboy57 there's so many around even for kids, or toy drum set too many i guess, i went crazy finding one that could work in scale with my drummer! ;)

    52. SapphireStargazer; Zach certainly looks relaxed! (Or is that the beer?) I hope he doesn't get sunburned. Drake says to tell him he'd like
to be there with him, "soaking up sunshine and suds.":sneaky

My grand daughter (#2) graduates High School on Tuesday, so I'm trying to get ready for that. Two down and 1 more to go.
Another friend of mine was ambulanced to the hospital for emergency surgery, as she fell and broke her hip. It seems like all the friends (that I have left) in my age bracket are dropping like flies! But then, I guess it's what happens when people get in my age bracket.....:pout:

I've gotten to the point that I'm no longer promising pix that I can't produce. If and when I come up with something worth sharing,
I'll surprise you all and just post them.;) Meanwhile, everybody keep spamming all your lovely dolls. I live vicariously, and so do my dolls, through your photos.

If the weather holds and it stays sunny and warm, next week I'll start spraying blank heads and catch up on my faceups. At least that is one ability I have complete confidence in. (Providing of course, that I can still hold a brush, without the arthritis screwing things up!)

I'm not sure what I feel about "Lizard Boy." I'm ambiguous about him. Need to see more before passing judgement. Impldoll doesn't say when they're going to release that new Star line. Web page just says "soon."

    53. Zach needs someone to give him a back massage there SapphireStargazer - If only there was a lonely, lovelorn, single girl on the rebound somewhere around....

Grouchy Gnome if you're going to put such pressure on the rest of us to take photos of Sylvia - well then I shall be forced to order my own! *shakes the money tree even harder* I hope the faceups go well and you are happy with them - I'm a total amateur and now got 7 dolls needing faceup *cries* oh well - they don't look so bad blank really....

As for 'Lizard Boy' (a sexy name if ever there was one LOL) - I am just not interested - my Tony (Richard) is all the man I need - I really love him, and even have his photo on my computer desktop, just incase I forget he's in the next room!

    54. SapphireStargazer yes elve is right! He totally need a girl to massage him, comfort him and play tricks on the others

And what did I said about spending my money on Dolly things? I just on my way to bought the new Iplehouse dresses for Malik and Feanor.... ok I spend nearly all on my Three Musketeers cosplay (and started sewing yeterday. Now Malik want a pair of Venetian Slops (which are trousers in the 17th), too. Shouldn´t be a problem because they are really simple to sew... but I´m afraid he want than a Doublet, too)

    55. oooh I look forward to seeing your creations Uminari - they sound very romantic!

Sadly I have now spent all my birthday money :sigh Why can't I have 4 birthdays a year? (see I am not greedy - I don't want one every month!) Although I had intended dressing my poor dolls with the money, I seem to have spent most of it on yet more naked resin! And there are still 2 more dolls on my wishlist (Sylvia and AoD Zi Yu) - so it will be a while till my dolls are decently dressed I think....

    56. it is ^^ Soon I have a bunch of well-dressed resin hunks at home :aheartbea I just need something for Altair... I just have no idea what will suits him. Maybe he will wear Maliks linen shirt and a pair of trousers for a long time. He isn´t the type for fancy clothes

    57. Grouchy Gnome, he is relaxed, although the beer may have helped with that. ;) Zach says he would've been glad of Drake's company. He couldn't get anyone to join him. Élise and Noé insist they are both too fair to lay out in the sun, and Élise says the heat bothers her anyway.
Congratulations to your granddaughter on her graduation! What a milestone event for your family! I'm sorry to hear about your friend's accident. Sounds like your life has been very eventful lately.
Good luck with the faceups. I hope the weather cooperates for you. As for the photos, take your time. Not everyone is going to have a love affair with their camera, or even a love-hate relationship with it. If photography is one of the things you don't think you'll be good at or that you don't enjoy, that's nothing to worry about. We all have different skills...and it's diversity that makes the world interesting! I couldn't paint a decent faceup if my life depended on it. :XD:

lol elve! Zach says he would love a back rub from some hot guy (or girl...he'd be okay with that, too). ;)

As for Lizard Boy, it's not that I dislike him, but I think it'd be nice if there would be a human (i.e. non-lizard-hair) head as well as the lizard head. The lizard hair looks pretty impressive, but it's not something that I'd personally want. I think my biggest problem with the lizard hair is that it limits the versatility of the sculpt. I think it'd be almost impossible to put a wig on him, so therefore he's always going to have a lizard on his head. That's okay if you're into specific character dolls, I guess, but one of the things I enjoy most about this hobby is the almost limitless ability to customize dolls (even if it's just to customize them as average everyday people). I was kind of hoping IMPL would make more mature, less stylized males in the Star and Model sizes, and the lizard guy does look quite promising in that regard. I'm really curious to see the improvements to the Star line body.

Uminari, I've seen the two new sets from Iplehouse and they look awesome! Your boys are going to look fabulous in those! I'm also looking forward to see what you're going to sew for them. :)

    58. Dobraya Vedyma that is such a cool picture! I like the angle, and the editing is really great. :)

Here's my contribution for the day.
Gabriel is feeling very empowered today because... look what finally happened! :aangel: I finally got his wings sorted! This is part of a set of 12 photos (including today's ADAD challenge entry) which are all in my flickr in case anyone is interested. ;)

Seems that i'm not the only one not impressed with new project of company, it's a relief cause at times i'm feeling alone ;)
