Immortality of Soul (IOS) Waiting Room v.2!

Jan 26, 2013

    1. Ugh, not fun seeing people having issues....

I ordered an Aria head on 2/29 and have been gnawing about it. 90 actual days has passed, but 90 business days has not. I suppose I will paypal dispute if I don't hear anything by mid-July.

    2. My order went from pending to preparing shipment when I checked today. soooooonnnnnnnn

    3. I did receive my body, by the way. I just realized I never updated. It's... okay.

After IOS responded to my emails and posts on their Q&A page, I sent them an email trying my very best to explain that I never would have opened a PayPal dispute if they had just responded ONCE. One time. That's all I needed. I would have waited another month or three. I just needed a response. I have waited nine months for a pair of feet from Dream Valley. I am a patient person, and I like to think I am a reasonable adult consumer.

They replied, and they appear to understand what I was trying to tell them. Side note: I never know if someone at a company speaks English or uses machine translation, so explaining things can be difficult.

I sincerely hope that they institute a change to their communications policy, and no other collectors have to deal with the frustration that I did. I also hope that they institute a policy of honesty. Don't blame the post office. Don't say a doll is going to ship by a certain date, if you don't know if you can keep that deadline. Just be honest. Is that so much to ask?

    4. you're right. If a seller sets a delivery date, it is their duty to announce it if a delay arises.
In this hobby we put enthusiasm, confidence and money and we deserve to be informed, because it is not a matter of a week or two, but of months. Please artists of this wonderful world of resin, if we trust you, treat us with love :) Congratulations to all of you who already have your orders

    5. it still hasn't shipped

    6. Tracking number finally showed up on the website. I didn't get any e-mail notification.

    7. Ouch. Seems IOS haven't lifted their game much since I had to use paypal to get my dolls sent. @zekarmisama I hope your parcel arrives quickly and safely!

    8. I‘m sorry people have been having problems with IOS. Just thought I‘d add that I received my Crow (head and body) last week after ordering in March, so time to ship was what was announced. There was zero communication before the shipping notice but I didn‘t try to email them.

I hope everyone gets their orders in a timely manner from now on!

    9. I'm surprised at the issues ios is having with communication.. I just ordered a class 70 in Sept on layaway and now I'm worried he'll take extra long ;-; reading this thread has me worried.... hes my first new bjd since 2010!

    10. I don't think you should worry, although now the wait for a new mold wherever it comes from takes much longer, and sometimes you have to write to remind them of your order :/

    11. I just sent my second payment two days ago maybe I should leave a message to make sure they got it? I got a grazia and I don't see many people ever buying him so i hope they don't forget:(

    12. I'm super excited for the new boy Aries, I'm back in here waiting for him. :XD:
I can only hope maybe they will do the skull version in 1/3 one day too :).

I've gotten all my orders during the wobbly time OK, and I'll admit i went a little nuts during their last sales LOL so they had to consolidate a bit.

@furby - about layaway payments, I've done a private Q&A (locked) with the "order# and payment #x of y sent" in the title. when I send the final payment i title it like that and thank them for the layaway option, in case that's helpful. that way you have a gentle record and notice to share. congrats on Grazia, he is a really neat sculpt, i like his smile a lot :) sometimes with a body it can be a little longer. my little unitot Capris took just a week shy of 6mos. earlier this year, and that's a more complex head too.

    13. I think tonight after work I will pop a message for them making sure they got my payment! I have been overly stressed ordering him. I honestly don't even know their wait time
Grazia seems like a more unpopular sculpt I can only find one person here on DoA with a few photos of him. I cant find any on twitter or insta! I'm hoping hes ready by march!!

    14. IOS does take a while to get the dolls ready and shipped, but their dolls are definitely worth the purchase imo. I've never heard of anyone not receiving their dolls ~ eventually, so for anyone considering buying from them, there is that. It just takes... time. ^^;

Hopefully they do improve their communication and start responding more promptly. Sometimes, it helps to open a new private Q&A thread if they haven't responded to the old one. I usually give it a week before checking in again. Despite the delays, I would still purchase from IOS because I love the quality of their dolls and whatever communication I've had with them so far has been good.

Hope you get your doll soon, @furby! <3

    17. My experience with ordering a Class65 body and Confutatis in late 2023 (body was ordered December, head November) was quite unpleasant.
The bodies were supposed to be ready by March, which I foolishly assumed would be correct because not all bust options and resin colours were available.
I only got my items after opening a Paypal claim. It's sad to see IOS's wait times and communication haven't improved

    18. I got an update from IOS they said that the doll is ready but his piercings are still in production and will be ready monday and shipped tuesday! crossing my fingers right now!

    19. Was able to take a pic today of one of the Aries heads I just received in January. it has a really interesting spacer joint! (pic below)

this order of 2 Aries heads shipped out in 149 days (4 months, 3 weeks & 1 day.) my last Soom full doll order advertised at 90 days production took 163 days to ship out, and even a pair of solo high heel feet from Soom took 141 days to ship (I don't count the time in transit for this purpose). I'm still waiting now 10 months for a DollZone 1/4 sized doll, advertised at 4-6 months for a blank doll and bought at the beginning of the pre-order period. Neither of those established makers answered any of my questions which doesn't make it right to not try to communicate, but the double standard bothers me. So many makers don't ship on time, and get a pass in the community regarding that and communication. I understand Soom has recently posted longer production times and perhaps IOS will take a page out of that book to publish a little more realistic estimates whether it's casting time, supply chain, global strife, or complex molds slowing things down.

I can share my experiences with some data, since I track my orders carefully. I've made 10 direct orders from IOS since 2020 and received every single doll & head. my discontinuation sale order of heads placed early Nov 2023 took the longest at 6.6 months to ship out. my quickest IOS order to ship was 23 days. the Crow head-only with a lovely faceup took 118 days. orders with a body took longer on average than head-only orders. I guess I should share the stats in the company reviews. as usual everyone else's mileage may vary, but I hope it can show some track record at least for international orders.

I can however understand the shorter tolerance for many collectors due to the harm of trust in our community by those makers and dealers that have not fulfilled orders or ghosted. it is unnerving to approach the paypal threshold these days after seeing the chaos develop with those makers/dealers and it's changing the face of things certainly. I truly hope that IOS's massive discontinuation sale was the reason things were bumpy and that future pre-orders are smoother, like mine. it really does make me sad that some people had a poor experience, since clearly I'm an enthusiast for their creations.

just look how smooth and beautiful he is... I'm so looking forward to working on his project!
this is WS on a champagne colour faux fur rug, he is sold as a 60 class doll, but I think he's big enough for the 70 class body.

I really hope you get the info soon!

    22. I sent them another message. I'm trying to keep it polite and not seem upset I just want an honest answer! Its been about a month now since the original shipping date jeez...

    23. He came yesterday out of the blue! The tracking still said in customs in korea so I was very surprised when the mail came! Glad this whole ordeal is over i just had to send them messages every week till they probably got sick of it lol

    24. ohhhh! I am so glad he arrived
i hope you'll share him with us in the main discussion thread when you're ready.
i've not seen too many of him in the wild, I can't wait to see your vision for him :3nodding:

    25. So, current thoughts on ordering from IOS? I see they have a head that I'm kind of interested in, but at the same time, watching this thread has made me a little gunshy of ordering, as much as I love the head I've gotten from them before.

    26. I would advise against ordering from them directly – perhaps going through a dealer like Faithz or Dolcelucedolls might help put a bit of pressure on them to fulfil their orders and communicate effectively

    27. I would order from them again if I wanted another! They were very nice to me through the whole thing I did have to bug them a lot but I got him in 5 months which is what I was estimating. I think you just gotta be on them politely of course!

    28. Hi all!

      Dolce Luce Dolls here

I’d advise against ordering right now as they are taking ages to fulfil them.

I have been applying pressure to get orders shipped so with luck they will get things done but I’m offering refunds to my own customers if they don’t ship soon.

How long have you all been waiting?

      • x 4
    29. I am going to write to them to explain that making up shipping dates and fobbing people off is making everyone nervous, including me as their dealer.

I will explain its due to the behaviour of Dollshe that people are on edge.

the post will be public on their QnA (nevermind it’s automatically private but I will post their response here)

    30. @Muraki88 My experience was last year, edging on six months, with my order only sent out because I opened a paypal claim (which I opened because I was getting close to the six month paypal protection limit).
I ordered in November 2023 with an estimated delivery date of March 2024.
I got no replies to my questions on their Q&A board until I opened the claim.
It's sad to see things haven't improved

    31. I am sad to hear this is a widespread issue!! I hope they have an explanation for whats going on I really love their dolls and its super upsetting to see this get that bad! I hope everyone gets their dolls and we get and explanation as to why they have been like this as of late.

    32. I have an update!

My customer has had their order shipped shortly after I mentioned chargebacks and PayPal refunds.

I highly suggest you keep pestering them and/or get your dealer involved.

    33. It's unfortunate that they're unable to fulfill orders sooner. I know they're a small company, so they should probably extend their production deadlines and that way everyone will be prepared for a long wait if they're wanting to order something. Personally, I've always been okay with waiting a few months so long as there's communication and that they get back to me if I have any questions or concerns which they did, thankfully. I absolutely love their sculpts, so I really hope they don't end up like Dollshe.

    34. Almost 1.5 years now for my Aries head. I got some responses on their website early in the year but nothing for a long time now… in your experience do orders eventually get shipped even with these long delays? Or are customers getting ghosted entirely?

      • x 2

    35. Wait, do you mean youre already waiting for 1,5 years!? Thats insane!!! Im so sorry :(

i ordered from them directly and got ghosted as well, until I threatened them with opening a paypal claim which got me one email reply. At that point I had already sent numerous emails, a q&n thread through their website, an insta dm, all without success.
But after that one email reply radio silence. I called them even. And the call gave me no results either. Sent a second threat, no reply and finally filed the paypal claim which seems to be the only way to get your order shipped… that was three months ish after my order for a full doll and I had been informed they were already packing things. Its very strange. Im curious what Ill get in the mail if I get anything in the mail lol

    36. It's not a good sign that IOS's communication hasn't improved at all since my order in late 2023: everything is fine and dandy, but once you hand over your money, it's very difficult to get a reply from them, even for dealers.

For anyone reading this thread who hasn't ordered from IOS, I would advise against doing so unless their communication and wait times improve.
For anyone waiting on an order from IOS, be aware of when your 6 month Paypal protection will expire, and try to communicate around the 5 month mark if you have no updates on your order.
I wouldn't have felt the need to open a claim if IOS had communicated with me and given me updates on my order with an estimate of when it would be finished.
Once you open a claim, do not close it until you receive your parcel and confirm the doll has arrived intact as you cannot open a second claim on the same transaction (if you paid layaway installments or separate shipping, those payments will each have their own 6 month protection deadline).

It's sad to see a long-standing dollmaker go this way, but nobody wants to be in a Dollshe situation, and Paypal claims exist to open communication when all else fails, as not responding to them jeopardises the dollmaker's access to Paypal as a business.
I hope people's orders will make it to them swiftly and safely.

    37. Like many others, I am also in a communication blackout with IoS. I finally opened a PayPal dispute against them. Here is my situation for those of you who would like to know.

      Timeline of Events:
      Order Date: July 30, 2025

      Item: Class50 Body

Shipping Promise: On October 31st, the seller (IOS) confirmed via the Q&A board that the package would be shipped via EMS Premium on Monday, November 4th.

The Breach: As of December 20, 2025, the item has not been shipped, and no tracking number has been provided.

Communication Blackout: Since the promised shipping date of November 4th, I have sent multiple follow-up inquiries. These inquiries included a direct email on December 14th and 23rd, and multiple Q&A board posts since then regarding the delay. The seller has failed to respond to any of these messages.

It has now been 160 days since my purchase date, so I filed a dispute while I still can. I am still awaiting a reply.

I placed an order for a Kappa head from their Dopple Maiden line. They originally promised to ship both items together. However, they ended up shipping the Kappa head separately, which I received in a timely manner, but the body never followed. I was hoping to save some money on the RIDICULOUS UPS brokerage fees by having them both shipped together. That didn't happen.

I guess my Co head will never have a body to match his "brother" Cho. :horror:

    38. @Anshishoku Thanks for sharing your experience. It's a small comfort to know that this is consistent behaviour for IOS and none of us are being singled out with radio silence on communication.

I prefer not to be negative, but I feel it's important to say when you've had problems with customer service or quality of products so other people can make more informed decisions – I wouldn't have made all three of my "problem orders" with three different dollmakers if I'd known what the customer service, wait times and quality of finished products would be like.

    39. thank you! I will make sure to keep the claim open until I get my doll. I think this is an important message here

    40. Has your paypal protection expired already for the body?

    41. @JJ3_dolls You have 180 days from the transaction date to open a dispute.

    42. As of 9:00 AM this morning, I was refunded my full purchase amount because IOS never responded to the PayPal dispute. They have also remained in total communication silence via email and their Q&A board.

I suggest opening up PayPal disputes while you still can if you have an order with them. You have 180 days from the purchase date to do so.

      Update: 01/18/2026

After the PayPal dispute was resolved in my favor and the payment was reversed on iOS, I received an email from the company containing a tracking number. I replied immediately to request that the shipment be canceled, as the refund had already been issued through the PayPal dispute process.

They responded by stating, “Our company email was hacked, which caused a security issue. We sincerely apologize for the disappointment this may have caused.”

This explanation may very well be true. However, I had also posted multiple messages on their Q&A board containing the same information I sent via email. Those messages could have been reviewed and addressed there as well, but they were not.

I have long been interested in their Raul head, among others, but this experience has made me hesitant to place future orders if these items are released again.

Regarding the tracking number provided, it is not currently active, so I assume the shipment was successfully canceled. It also does not appear in my UPS app, unlike the Kappa head I previously ordered, which showed up immediately. In their last email, they mentioned shipping the doll, which makes me unsure whether they fully understood that the item had already been refunded. This was why I specifically asked them not to ship it.

Overall, I believe the company should have proactively informed customers if their email had been compromised and they were unable to respond to inquiries. A notice via the Q&A board, a follow-up email, or an announcement on their website would have gone a long way. In that respect, the situation could have been handled more transparently.

That said, this is simply my perspective, and I recommend taking the situation with a grain of salt.

    43. @Anshishoku I'm sorry it had to get to this point – it's troubling that IOS have gone from not delivering orders unless a Paypal claim is opened to ignoring Paypal claims and not delivering at all. It doesn't bode well for the future of the company.
