If you could have a Minimee

Awesome idea!

If i could make one of my friends draw my character for me i'd love to get her as a minimee. She's a reflection of who i really am so it would be awesome to have two mes so to speak.

As for an already existing caracter i'd really want malificent from sleeping beauty because she's the awesomest villain i know.

Hmm i'll have to pass for a minimee of an actor/actress just because i don't know if i like one good enough to make a minimee out of him/her.

Yes, probably one of my best friend or a beautiful lolita i know. My best friend because she is my best friend and my lolita friend because she has a relly pretty face.

Probably not XD. Maybe if he/she was like reeeeeeeeaaallly pretty.

And myself? Only if i find a picture of me that i really like.

 

If I had the money to burn...yeah, I would want a minimee of myself as I looked in my 20s, just because having a doll of myself straddles the line between just weird and creepy as h*ll!

No, but I've ended up turning MNM's of my daughter into different ones, so they've ended up looking absolutely nothing like her.

I haven't done so far, and don't think I would, but film characters , yes.

Yes, I have done, only because they've played film characters I've liked to re-create in doll form. Angelina Jolie- Tomb Raider, Liv Tyler as Arwen, Adam Ant (These three heads I have since sold), and Tilda Swinton as The White Witch of Narnia, that I am going to change into a different character.

Yes, I got my daughter when she was younger( one of the first ever made so it was all new).

No, I don't think so.

Firstly, I'd go through Nobility Doll rather than DIM, simply because I like the molds they turn out better.

Mmm, hard to say. If I knew for a fact that I would never, in a thousand years, be able to find a mold that suited a particular character, then yes, I might. It would really depend on how much I want that character home, and if I feel up to doing the mods that would be necessary to turn the mold into the character I want.

Probably not. I'd feel much more comfortable with having my OC's as dolls rather than anime/video game/cartoon series characters. This is not to say that I would never get a anime so forth Minimee, but it wouldn't turn out to be the character in question.

Possibly. Again, this is with the understanding that I cannot find a mold that would suit the character. I find the challenge and hunt to finding that "one perfect mold" to be a lot more fun. But, I'm not opposed to the idea.

Would you get someone you know in real life?
This is a bit more likely. If someone I knew (and loved) in real life passed on or for whatever reason was no longer with me, I might get a Minimee of them to sit on the shelf (or my computer desk, whatevs) to talk to. Creepy and sad as this sounds, it might help me with the healing process. Or muck it up. Either way, could be interesting. ^^

Okay, this just sounds fun. Again, it sounds very creepy, but it's something I could see myself doing with the right amount of sugar, caffeine, or boredom. I'd eventually just have to let them in on the game, of course, which would make it that much more interesting, but eh, I like challenges.

This is one I can comfortably say absolutely not. Granted, I can be a little egotistical/narcissistic, but I'd feel really uncomfortable having a doll with my likeness around. Maybe to the point where I'd feel the need to get rid of it (ie - destroy it). The whole "there can be only one" and "I will be the one" sort of attitude.

Though I have found sculpts for almost all of my charaters (though I don't own most of them... yet), probably not. Though I might buy one of a certain fairy...

Hmmm... Not really. I have no characters planned that would fit any famous actor/actress But, if I were to get one, I'd probably get Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter.

Since I have a rule about it, it would have to be one of my original characters that I couldn't find a decent sculpt for otherwise. As much as I love certain anime/game characters, I know better than to start down that road - I already have more BJDs than I can really justify...
I would never want a doll to be a copy of myself. I just don't see the point.

noses, that would make gorgeous dolls....but no I'm not stalker enough to attempt
taking pictures, or should I say at the time I did not have a cell phone!

I was fortunate enough to place a MNM order for myself almost 2 years ago instead
of running a GO or waiting for one to be started. Who did I get? Shia LaBeouf
It's a pretty good likeness actually and some day I plan on finding a customizer
who can soften it a bit because I chose the "wrong" realism percentage
I also have a Zachary Quinto MNM as Spock from a GO which is dead on &
gorgeous & a Neytiri that I'm pretty unhappy with.

There's either a "secret" to getting great MNM results or some people are better
at communicating with DIM because I've seen some amazing likenesses and others
that made me go

Would I ever get a MNM of myself? NO.

No that's a bit much for me. I've been called narcissistic and a bit of a megalomaniac and I'm uncomfortable looking at my own face so looking at a doll with my face...would be immediately be on the market. I'd rather have a doll that has a 'few' of my personality instead.

Already did that. His name's Celaran, he's from what I refer to as my "epic fantasy tale" - and he turned out just as I imagined him. I might be modding (or rather, have the second Celaran-head I got modded) to look more like what he probably looks like AFTER his run-in with the orcs ... (he's an elf, orcs and elves madly, deeply hate each other and thus, the result is not a pretty sight)

Probably not. I'm not enough into anime/video game/cartoon series fandom to spend so much money on getting a Minimee head made after one of the characters. Meaning that, even though I think "oooooh - NICE!" when I see a Final Fantasy head pop up in the Marketplace, they don't make me go check my account whether I can afford to buy them.

Well, I did get a Minimee head of Zachary Quinto as Spock last year (from the Marketplace) but I didn't get it to turn it into Spock. What I thought was "Wow, that would be PERFECT for Tharesion!!!" So I absolutely had to have it, right?

Well, I'm not the best artist so I'd probably not get a MNM of my own design... but I do own a minimee of a fandom character - Princess Zelda from LoZ: Twilight Princess. I love her, and she fits in pretty well with the rest of my resin gang.

I'd probably never get a minimee of a RL person. Part of why I like BJDs is because they are so stylized, and having something so realistic in the mix wouldn't fit.

 

I was actually talking to a friend about this last night.

If I could get a Minimee head made, I would have one made of a character of mine named Anoushka. She is the first major villain character I've made, and making her into a doll would be an awesome artistic venture, given her design.

I'd do me. Not for myself, but since with all the other categories, I would find it difficult to make a decision, 'me' seems like the likeliest option. I doubt I'd keep my own head around, but I might have such a thing made and painted up for my mom.

Actually, I would keep one sculpted like me, and then give it a really masculine faceup, like with painted-on stubble. Or I'd give it my makeup from when I was Lady Bracknell...

It would have to be an anime character: From the series Full Metal Panic!, it would have to be Captain Tessa Testarossa, because she's my favorite anime character. Second choice would be Chiyo Mihama, from Azumanga Daioh because she's the most adorable anime character ever (besides Pikachu), and it would be kind of cool to try to make a wig with pigtails in that similar shape that are possibly detachable.

 

I just realized who I would have to get if I was going to get a celebrity type sculpt!

I was thinking about the biggest problem in my eyes, which is that I've never seen a body that fits just right with the MNM head, so I wouldn't want a MNM guy unless I was happy with him being a floating head permanently.

Which left me with John Paragon, quite possibly my favourite floating head. I'd have to dye him blue and build him a special magical box, but yeah. Now I know.

Yeah, why do I think it's creepy to get a doll of someone you know but not to get one of someone you don't know, and without their knowledge, no less? It's SO something I would do. I see random people on the street sometimes and go, "HEY THAT PERSON'S PRETTY/ODD/AWESOME/SPECIAL!"

The only ones I'd get would be for an older looking sculpt (I am adding my name to the Sarah Jane Smith group, for instance, cause I loved the actress AND need an older lady doll). I say this because most MiM sculpts come out looking older than regular BJDs. Also, I find the ones that really look like their model are so creepy (no movement) - the London Wax Museum freaked me out soooo much!

I do have an OC, but probably wouldn't do one of her I also have characters I love from anime, videos games etc..but not them either. I don't really like actors and actress expect one. He's a Korean actor.. very attractive and awesome now that would be a possibility. No stalking random attractive people. What I would love to get a minime of is my boyfriend and I. I think it would be super cute. If I ever get the money to do that...its a definite must!

Definitely get a head made of one of my characters. That's the only way to go for me, I'd feel awkward owning a doll that looked like a person I know, or even of a person in a picture I'd seen. But then again, I'm the type to reconsider a sculpt I really like just because I think it looks too close to someone I know.

I would get one of Sailor Saturn- she's probably my favorite anime character of all time.

I don't think I would get one of an actor or actress because I could never see the doll as being anyone but that person, and one reason I love BJDs is because you can customize them and change them into different characters.

I probably wouldn't get one of someone I know in real life, but if I did, it would be of my husband so I could see his face even when I'm playing with dollies. *passes out the barfbags*

Um, HALE NAW. I can't stand the 5 minutes a day that I look in the mirror, let alone want to see myself in dolly form. I'd constantly be criticizing how I look... (yes, I know I have self-esteem issues).

OHMEHGAWD YESYESYESYESYES! I'd have gotten about a hundred of these by now. I'm definitely going to one day make dolls of Miles, Phoenix, and Maya in the future but I'd have done pretty much half the manga's I've read.

Gotta pass. I'm not the type that knows any of them (that I like anyway, you hear about crappy ones all the time...)

Would you get someone you know in real life?
Nope. I'd find that a little unsettling. No brazen images or something like that.

Would you stalk an attractive person you don't know and get headshots of them?
No. That would be very very... creepy.

Would you do yourself?
Probably not. I see too much of myself anyway.

• Probably not. Only because I don't have the characters figured out until I see the sculpts. The sculpts develop the characters.

• Does Homestuck count? Probably not. If it does, I really want a Karkat doll. I love his character and even Dave. If it doesn't count, it would be between Ikuto Tsukiyomi from Shugo Chara and Riku from Kingdom Hearts 2. [Don't like his KH or KHDD look. :/]

• I have a Korean idol I want to get a sculpt of. Park Kyung from Block B. Their song Nillili Mambo and Ikuto Tsukiyomi inspired by Pirate character.

• Not unless I had permission to use their face for a sculpt.

• No. Wouldn't be worth the possible court order.

• Nope. I really only like my nose because my friend says I have a pretty one compared to hers.

I'm far from being good enough at drawing to do this, my characters are words that turn into dolls that resemble the description closely.

Probably not. While I can draw well enough to technically do it, it's just too much fun finding other sculpts out there to fit my needs. The hunt is part of the fun for me.

Same thing as I answered above. I love Chii from Chobits, but it was a lot more fun finding a really cute sculpt to turn into my own Chobit's inspired OC.

Would you get an actor/actress that you enjoy? Oh yeah, baby! And I have. My rarer-than-rare MSD sized Johnny Depp. It was so much fun helping to choose the photos for this sculpt...getting to be part of that design process...and the sculpt was perfect on the first try. We went for a more mature Johnny (we were determined to get those brow furrows!) and it really paid off. This was before the Tim Burton movie "Alice" even came out, but the head turned out perfect for the Madd Hatter. Years later and I still absolutely adore him! While still Hatter, I've brought him into modern times where his character can continue to develop and interact with all my OCs.

• Here is where Felix comes in. I was looking for a boy sculpt that I loved around the same time that I was creating Felix. I stumbled across the Tom Hiddleston MNM thread, and OMG his face combined everything I wanted into one head! And so Tom Hiddleston became the model for Felix. So I'm kind of getting a MNM of an OC? *shrugs*

• Yes, yes I would. In high school one of my friends and I made up cover stories to get pictures of cute boys without seeming creepy or desperate (which we probably were!) Our favorite cover was that we "were part of the Yearbook Staff"

Yeah, maybe but not as them. As a character they've played I like the idea and I do have celebrity dolls of other kinds, but I'm not big on having dolls as living people who are around today. Most of the actor dolls I have the people are deceased. They're famous actors from old movies. like Garbo or historical personalites. There are a couple that aren't. I do have dolls of Twiggy and Kate Winslet but Twiggy is in mod model mode. She doesn't really look like her real self. She's more like a magazine spread come to life. A fashion symbol of a certain era, the 60's, personified. Kate isn't Kate she's Rose Dawson and I make Titanic era outfits for her accordingly.

No, I have more than enough head shots in my file cabinets of that I've taken of clients. I'm a photographer. I deal with people taking portraits all the time. I have plenty of pretty faces to choose from if I was ever going to do that.

Would you do yourself?

Uh, probably not. There is actually a doll out there that looks more than a bit like me. (No, I am not going to say which one!) I own a couple and I've always loved those dolls but I never realized that she looked that much like me until my roommate's GF pointed it out to me one day. There are a couple of BJD's I've seen that resemble her and by proxy me. Would I ever buy those? I've thought about it. They are nice sculpts but I'm just not sure about it. I think the doll I have is a little close to me for my comfort and now that I realize it it kind of bugs me a bit sometimes. My roommate and her GF think it's hilarious but for me it's a bit odd. I don't like her any less but I'm not too sure that I'd go out and buy a resin doll like that too. I'd have to think a lot about that.

All that being said I am planning a male doll based partly on an actor I like and partly on a historical character he played. I love the way he looked when he played that role and it would make for a nice doll, but I don't want to just have the doll be him as himself. I think that would be way too creepy. I don't even want the doll to resemble him 100% in that role. I just want him to be an inspiration, kind of. The doll will definitely not be his clone, nor the character's. I want a character related to that one, but not identical.

• Would you get an actor/actress that you enjoy? That would be part of the above answer, Ian Mckellen ad Christopher Lee, Because Istarie are awsome.

• Would you stalk an attractive person you dont know and get headshots of them? Nah, thet owuld creep me out.
• Would you do yourself? I love myselve, but not to that extend. and it would creep me out.

You forgot one category: Historical characters: Oh yes baby, I would so get a Richelieu and a Juluis Caeser minimee.
