if you could go into one of your dolls worlds, which doll would it be?

Oct 16, 2022

    1. for me it would be my minifees. they live in a world where there are different islands in which each elf/creature is from. i'd love to actually experience the worlds and how they work.

    2. Easy, I'd go into where Mila, Kazuhito, and Anna are from-- The Pokémon World. Honestly I'd just love to be friends with them and travel along with our Pokémon. :)

    3. I haven't really created my doll's world yet. I think I will make up multiple worlds and maybe link those worlds. The only world I am working on just in my head is my Gumiho family world set in the Joseon Era which will later go on to the modern times. This world will most likely have mythological, supernatural, angels, demons, humans, etc. This is the only world I am building somewhat in my head, so I guess I want to enter this world. It's probably better than the real world. I will add other countries as well too probably.

    4. I have two primary oc/doll worlds. One is a somewhat modern fantasy setting with many species of creatures and magic (similar to the Forgotten Realms) where I kinda make up the rules as I go, and the other is like our real world. Some of my ocs/dolls go in between the worlds (I call them my planeswalkers) but very few can do so on their own. Most that crossed over were forced or sorta fell into the fantasy world. I'd definitely pick my fantasy world over reality.

    5. Mine is weird because all my dolls technically exist within a dorm-like concept, but then all of them have their own stories. I called it Nameless Dorm and it was a fun explanation to why so many different doll formats are sitting together on a shelf and gives some frameworks for the dolls I don't have a story for yet. So, I guess to end up in the Nameless dorm? Because there's always something going on, some dolls are connected while others don't care of each other's existence

    6. Hard to decide

      - I love the world of the slightly magical Victorian Nursery that my main family of SD sized dolls inhabit - it would be like stepping into an E. Nesbitt novel.

      - But my Puki's inhabit a Medieval castle, with the Banji's in the Victorian-esque gatehouse that forms the portal between our world and the Puki Castle, and that also has a lot of appeal.

    7. Hard to pick as most my dolls are either my own O.C.s/RP characters, or a few from favorite books and comic books all from fantastic worlds. While the settings of Marvel or DC comics are highly temping, I think in the end I have to pick the world my nerdy vampire superhero Kyle comes from. It's an original setting made up by my S.O. (with help from me and a few others.) for one of our longest lasting games, and getting to see it in person, and the heroes we've made come to life would be wonderful

    8. None :horror:

Chess World is just completely worn down by war and very old timey.
The Sun/Moon kingdom is like a medieval fantasy kitsch world, so everything is old and sucks again.
And the third setting is just our modern world, no difference.

All bad choices. I vote for @juni-fee's Pokémon world

    9. I'd go to my Super Dollfies' world, it's meant to be late 1800s/early 1900s... but without the bad stuff :sweat Although it's labelled as a horror story, in the overall scheme it's actually solved quite quickly in their world :XD: Which is as soon as I find a candidate for Sister Melusine :)

    10. Definitely Undertale and not my OCs' world ("Chaos"). The monsters are much nicer there and don't eat people.

    11. I only have two worlds, one of which is "ours but magic" and the other which is like high fantasy, and I'd much rather live in a world more familiar to me, especially if I were dropped into it. I don't think I'd adjust well to a high fantasy world. I'd already have a hard time adjusting to the other one just because there'd be no one familiar to me in it.

    12. My sister and I have a couple of time travelers so we could go about anywhere with that!

    13. All of my dolls, except one, are part of the same world so it would really depend on what country I would go into. That gets harder to pick XD

    14. Lianda, no doubt. I would get to spend my days hanging out with superheroes and bugging Doctor Strange.

    15. All of my dolls exist in the same "world"... so, any of them?

    16. All of mine are from the same world, and it's basically the same as our world, just a version where the pandemic, political and social issues aren't a problem, so I think I could be happy there! As far as their actual living situations, many of them live in one of two apartment buildings with a bunch of friends on their floor/in their building which would be awesome to live in a building with 15-20 friends. Many of them are active in the local music scene and/or are skaters, so that would be fun, too. All of them have active social lives and lots of friends.

    17. I'm also going to vote for none :sweat All my dolls live in the same world if they have a character... and I don't particularly want to go back to the Joseon era, not even a reimagined fantasy version. I'm perfectly happy with modern amenties and healthcare, thank you.

    18. I would 100% go to Rivendell in Middle Earth. And I wouldn't mind visiting Valinor if it's just a better version of Middle Earth.

    19. This sounds intersting. I wish I could learn more about your world. It would be fun if all bjd worlds created by doll collectors were connected.

Sorry i think you might have misunderstood my world, since I wasn't that clear. The story begins in the Joseon Era (although the characters have existed before that time period) and continues to the modern day age. This means i would be set within the modern time period. This world continues throughout time and doesn't stay in one pocket of time. I forgot to mention there is also time traveling between the modern times to the past because two characters in love got displaced in time one is stuck in the Joseon period and one is stuck in the modern period. Both are going back and forth trying to find each other and messing up the timelines. Also in my version the Joseon Era will have magic that heals many ailments, so will not need modern healthcare or amenties. Although this form of magic will be lost in the modern world.

This is just the beginning of my world building because I'm new to this sort of stuff and want to research more. It's more like a rough draft I've been working on since 2021. I forgot to mention it won't just include Korea, but include other cultures and countries. I want to research first to create this world. It will all be set in different time periods most likely and interconnect. There may also be alternate timelines and versions of this world. I just hope I don't lose interest or get so overwhelm I give up on creating this world.

      That sounds interesting.

    20. Sorry if there was a misunderstanding, but I was referring to my own story here that also takes inspiration from that period of time. Since I am Korean myself, my characters often are as well.

Your idea does sound very ambitious though! I hope you can stick it through, I'm sure it'll be very satisfying to complete such a work.

    21. Oh sorry, I thought you meant mine. Yeah I wouldn't want to live in Joseon period if it was historically accurate or any past setting in any country based on historical accuracy for that matter only in my version of the past i would be willing to traverse that period if I could return to the modern world. I hope i can continue my world building too, but I tend to lose interest easily. I think I decided to set my story in that time period because I enjoy period dramas occasinally and I happened to have outfits for that time period.

    22. I feel like Stella's world would be very "Studio Ghibli." I could live there. Have a cute cottage and lots of little fairy friends.

    23. My dolls are all in the same world together and I think it would be a lot of fun to join. There is a diner where some of them work and others hang out. It's set in the middle of a busy downtown city area, sorta like San Fransisco, but with some space and futuristic elements to it. There are weird creatures that occasionally pop up with myths and legends, setting some of the characters up to go on "ghost hunting" missions. There's a "haunted mansion" in the hills outside of the city. Many shenanigans and chaotic ventures ensue. I would hecka join in on that.

    24. My dolls all live in the same world, a fictional English village in the Cotswolds. It is based in reality except that there are elves and faeries also existing in the same area, but mostly unknown to the human world. My SD dolls are all the humans, and my MSDs are the elven folk.

Most of the humans in that world are unaware of the elves and faeries, except one girl who is half elf/half human. She keeps it a secret and has to wear her hair long so it covers her elf ears. Her name is Willow, and she is very in tune with nature and animals, and the spiritual world. She doesn't fit in well with the modern world. She is a gifted herbal healer.
Gradually I hope that she will gain the trust of her human friends and no longer be afraid to reveal her true nature.
So anyway, I would be fun to live in this world, even for just a little while. I love the idea of a quaint English village the way they are portrayed in fiction.
