Sort of a follow up on a previous post but I'm moving and I need to pack my Dream Valley Bethel away, unfortunately I can't for the LIFE of me figure out how to unhook his wings. I can't see a hook anywhere even when I pull them out a little, anyone familiar with how I can take them off? I don't want to cut the elastic, but that might be my only option if I can't figure it out 8(
If they’re like my Gloria, the hooks are at the end of the wing. I really struggled to get my wings on and the super thick wire to ‘keep them rigid’ was an absolute nightmare. I really wish I could take it out but the metal is too thick and I couldn't bend it enough to get it out. I might be able to take some photos of you need them.
If the hook is in the wing that at least gives me a place to start looking, I appreciate the help! Though with how tense the elastic is I have no clue how I'd even begin to unhook them I might have to just cut it and restring it after all, sadly. Thank you for the help!
I had the same issue when I did a commission for a DV Sylves and had to take him apart to get dyed and airbrushed. I spent so, so much time with these stupid wings, in part because of that insanely stiff piece of wire they had wedged in there. The s-hooks were indeed at the very end of each wing, and I had to use up all my strength to pull it apart juuuuuust enough so I could grab a little bit of string with a pair of forceps and then wiggle out the s-hook. Which was pretty scary because the parts are so thin and fragile that grabbing and pulling them just feels like a potential disaster in the making. I also got rid of the wire afterwards and strung the doll without it once the commission was finished, and it still posed absolutely fine. Which does not mean that stringing it together was easy, especially because the Sylves wings have a lot of extra pieces.
Thank you! I'm glad I'm not the only one struggling with him, I'll try and see if I can get that hook down. I have no idea why they'd make them so difficult!
