How Old Are You (continued... 2)

Im 17 and have been into dolls for about 3-4 years now. I ordered my first doll this year and joined this community to hopefully learn more from some of the older doll collectors.

 

I'm nearly 34 and got my first doll in September of 2008. Been loving it ever since!

 

im 30 and got my first doll in 2008 though my oldest doll that i still own is from 2010

 

I'm 22 and turning 23 next year August, just got my first doll but I've known about BJD's since I was about 16-ish?? It's something I've always admired but never dove into until now!!

 

I am 33 I’ve been in the hobby for only 1.5 years.

 

I was about 21-25 when I got into the hobby but I didn't have a good paying job then to afford them. However now I'm 33 and just recently got my first bjd. They are more affordable now with so many different types of paying option.

 

I'm 32! I got my first bjd when I was 29. I'm honestly flabbergasted so many teenagers have bjds my mom would have laughed me out of the room if I asked for a doll that cost more than 30$ I'm happy for them their parents let them explore their creativity like that.

 

I'm 36. I got my first bjd when I was 24.

 

I am 33, I think. I'm that old. I have to do math when anyone asks me how old I am.

 

I’m 28. I got into the hobby at 14, but took a decade long break from 2011 until this past April.

 

32. I joined the hobby in 2007 at 17, and bought my first doll shortly after I turned 18. Recently returned from a 4 year hiatus in the hobby and enjoying myself greatly.

 

I'm 23 this year. My first BJd I got was last year when I finally started working full time. Now, I'm with 7 bjd boys in a span of a year

 

Just turned 25 last month and wow! Thinking back on it I got my first dolls back in 2014 when I was 17! I ended up spending a huge chunk of my graduation gift money on them but I still think it was worth it.

 

I'm 30 and I got my first doll in 2019. But, I've known about the hobby since I was 15 or 16. The fact that I can finally participate is so amazing.

 

I'm 42 now.

31! Started in 2013 (dolls in general), took a break and then came back in 2018, to focus on BJDs

 

I'm 32! I started collecting dolls generally when I was 18, which was when I got my first BJD as well! It's kind of nuts to think I've been doing this (even though at times I've been less active) my entire adult life?!

 

I'm 27 and have been aware of BJDs since I was around 13-14, however I didn't get my first doll until I was 22 (or 23, I don't fully remember) as a birthday gift. It's been nice to slowly grow my collection, see what piques my interest and what things I thought I wanted I later changed my mind on. Tbh the thing that really kicked off my rising interest in collecting BJDs was seeing how much money I spend on playline dolls lol

I had some money saved for a laptop but I spent it all on a doll Later I had a few years long break from the hobby, but I came back recently and I'm waiting for a new doll I think the dolls I buy now will be more "mine" since I build up so many ideas for them through the years

 

I'm 26! I started looking at and becoming interested in BJDs when I was probably about 17. I got my first one around 18 after I got my first job. Hard to believe I've been around so long.

I'm 26, got my first doll when I was 11 (!!!) it was a Pullip. Then I went of a LOONG hiatus between 14-15 and 24 and I'm back in the hobby since the last few months of 2019

 

I'm 23 and got my first BJD in 2019. Been interested in the hobby for years, probably since I was 11? So, buying my first BJD felt like a dream come true. Before that I collected Monster High dolls!

 

Yes everyone is so young. I posted my age in this thread already, but I always get a funny reaction when I say how old I am. I turned 72 in September. I'm a doll granny. LOL

I will be 45 this month. Just started my collection last year. I got curious about these dolls at first when I played Nameless. Nice to see a wide range of ages here.

 

I'm 29, just got my first BJD a few months back.

 

I'm 33. Got interested in bjds when I was 18 and got my first when I was 19 (he's still with me).

 

I'm turning 56 this year and about to get my first doll.

55 last week. I knew about BJD since 2005 , got my first doll in 2010. I’ve been in and out of the hobby but never sold any dolls.I come from a long line of doll collectors.

Unsure if I already responded to this thread but I'm 22 and will be 23 this August, I purchased my first BJD in november however I have been fascinated by them since 2010.

 

I'll be 33 soon (next month) and I've been in the hobby for ~about~ 15 years

 

I’m 28 right now. But I’ll be 29 in March and I have been in the hobby since 2014

 

I’m 32! I first got interested in BJDs in my teens, looking at dolls online, but didn’t get a proper doll until I was in my late twenties!

 

I'm 20! Hence why I can't afford much, haha. In general I tend to be good at setting aside money over long periods of time to save up for things I really want, but I have realistic limits.

 

25 these days, got my first doll last year! I'd first seen BJDs online when I was in... high school? So like, first half of the 2010s. I think they were on DeviantArt while I was looking up patterns and stuff for other dolls! I didn't seriously look at them or put the money in to get one until after college, though.

 

I am 46 and been in the hobby (with hiatus) for 13 years.

 

Super similar experience! I just purchased my first bjd (unoa sist) in 2021 and my second (withdoll jiho) this month after being fascinated by the hobby for around 7 years.

 

Turning 48 this year, and it's been 19 years in the hobby (actively collecting, 20 if you count the year I spent pining for what was, at that time, the impossible). Nearly half my life now, haha.

 

I started in the hobby at 21 and I am currently 31

 

I'm 44 and I only got into bjd's awhile ago.

 

40, and I've been into the hobby (includes hiatus) about 17 years.

 

I'm really old... I'm almost embarrassed to say how old.... over 50 dolls make me happy!! I can say I will die with dolls.

 

I’m 21 too (even though you aren’t 21 anymore ) was interested in bjd dolls for years and now as an adult I can finally afford them

 

I'm 23 and I think I got my first doll when I was 14! She still looks great because I've always been so cautious I barely take her out of her box (need to start doing that more so I can actually take some half decent pictures)

I am 32 Always loved playing with dolls. I was into Barbies with articulated body when I was a kid. Then bumped into Volks temporary shop in my hometown in Japan in 2008. I was 18 that time. I got my first BJD there but couldn't enjoy because I didn't know much about BJDs and was embarrassed that I liked dolls at my age. When I was 31 and having a big ta return I got myself a new BJD and I've been hooked ever since!

Our numbers are close! I'm 36 and got my first at 19 and I still have her... Head is on a different body but her original body is in the closet.

 

20 now, but I started collecting when I was 15-16(?) I believe. around then is when I got my first bjd, but I stalked dolls on instagram for a while before.
