How many different companies/artists do you have BJDs from?

I have dolls from 17 different companies.

I'm not incredibly loyal to any particular company but I do have to watch myself from getting too many from certain companies. I have 6 from Dollzone, Mystic kids and Doll Leaves, and 5 from Ringdoll, so I do get a bit stuck loving the aesthetics of certain companies.

I have to kick myself sometimes to look else where. The thing is, I don't do it on purpose even, I just really like those companies.

 

I have 12 dolls and all are from different companies, except for the body of one hybrid being a repeat company
I like having a variety, though there are some companies I could anticipate having multiple dolls from in the future!

 

I have dolls from a lot of different companies, but I have a soft spot when it comes to ANother Secret dolls, haha.
I own 14 heads from ANother Secret, and "only" 4 of the other more common brands in my collection ( Dollstown, Dollmore, Supiadoll, Miracledoll).

Currently I have dolls from 7 companies. I have in my now 16 years can safely say I have bought dolls from at least 25 companies, but I bet it was more. Most I tried once and never looked back, others I went to time and time again. But the ones I have now I love for their own reasons mostly independent artists. I have 3 from Botodoll, 3 from Jacoosun and 1 from Eve Studio. I have found working with a person who puts their love of the art of a BJD doll into their dolls to make them unique and not like so many others is special. The best thing about this hobby is discovery and willingness to see what is possible.

 

Well, finally took the time to do a proper count, and I'm sure I missed 1 or two due to the fact I haven't added stray faceplates and gifted heads to my master doll list....BUT I have dolls from 43(!!) different companies/artists.

The winner by a wide margin is Fairyland/CP, coming in with 19!! Second place is a three-way tie between Doll Chateau, Ringdoll, and Volks, all with 7 each. Third place is Dollzone with 6. ♥

I like to try one of everything. Variety is the spice of life!

 

I do like variety, before I had dolls from several different companies, but I did cut down my collection when I was on hiatus several years. Recently I have been more into my few favourite companies, which I tend to browse more. Currently I have my doll heads from 3 different companies (Little Monica, Soom, Alchemic Labo), because I like their sculpts and they go nicely together as my dolls are from same world. However, like to switch bodies for different characters and make hybrids, so I have bodies from 7 (Little Monica, Soom, Alchemic Labo, Souldoll, Volks, Telesthesia, Impldoll) different companies. Because all my dolls are from same story/world, I don't like too much variety, so in away I have "brand loyalty", but I could see myself buying from other companies as well.

 

Currently 42 dolls, 38 different companies-I have a lot of hybrids.

 

Uh, let's see!

Off the top of my head, I have Volks, Luts, Petit Soiree, Resinsoul, Fairyland, MYOU, Aimerai, Little Monica, Obitsu/Parabox, and Peakswoods in my current collection. Now, if my English major math is correct, that's 10 companies. If I add in dolls I no longer have, it'd be 15 companies.

My collection is mostly Volks dolls, followed by Luts, then MYOU, and then everything else.

 

My collection is pretty tiny still!
Currently I just have:

I have my eye on some Xaga and AsleepEidolon boys currently! Looking at a couple other companies as well that I can't think of off the top of my head ahaha.

Right now I only have dolls from one specific company which would be Volks. I plan to expand to at least one or two more companies but I am working on my grail list from one at a time.

In the past? I have owned from a total of 4. So Custom House, Souldoll, Volks, and Dollzone.

I need to offload some dolls (a Luts doll, my Leekeworld doll, my extra Fairyland body) and replace/purchase a couple of parts (the DF-H body for a shorter one, a Leekeworld art body), but the current list is pretty consistent with where I expect to be for a while. I've also previously had doll parts from Supiadoll and Doll in Mind, but don't currently have any in my collection.

 

I currently have 9 dolls and they are from 6 different companies/ artists.

 

Three companies so far: Switch, Fairyland and Imda. The Switch are boys (one floating head) they share a 65cm body. Love them to bits but they are hard to handle due to their size but they are well strung. The next size down for me is my Fairyland girl (poses to perfection) then a tiny 2.2 Imda who is strung rather loosely and who's head flops at the slightest touch. There is an Imda 3.0 on order and I'm crossing my fingers that she is better strung. I'm quite happy to buy from most companies but need to fall for the doll in question. Long Soul have been beckoning for quite some time....I think I need a tall guy in one of their amazing costumes.

 

I have dolls from... fourteen? companies. Most of my dolls are Soom dolls, but I also have one Dreamingdoll, one Dollmore Trinity, one Souldoll, a couple Dollzone dolls (with another on the way), a few Volks Dollfie Dreams, an IoS doll, an Unidoll, a couple dolls from someone who attends the Delaware doll meets, some CP delfs and Fairyland minifees, a few Angell Studio dolls, and an Akhmel Nathan and Aki. And three Magic Mirror dolls. I'm probably forgetting something.

I like hybrids and i think its fun to mix and match from different companies.

 

I definitely lean towards having dolls from different companies, as I like having a good distinction of styles for my different dolls (though my dolls do have a lot of similar characteristics to each other!).

If I'm including the dolls I have on order, I have 22 companies represented in my collection (including five companies where I only have bodies, and five companies where I only have heads!).

There are only four companies who make up two or more dolls within my collection: Chicabi, Little Monica, Rosen Lied, and Soom!

Little Monica was the first doll company I ever bought from, and both of my dolls were bought at the same time. One of my Little Monica boys is a floating head, as his body was more well-suited to another character, but I could see myself getting another Little Monica body for him (albeit a bigger one).

I do really love Chicabi, though it's very expensive to buy from them! I see myself getting a doll from their sister company, Luna Blanc.

Rosen Lied might be my favourite doll company, I especially love their sculptor Kana (who also produces her own sculpts as Kanadoll, which I also own, and is part of Petit Soiree). I might be tempted by more Rosen Lied dolls, especially as they make my favourite sculpt ever, Bambi! I own three Bambi head sculpts, two Holiday's Child and a senior version from Kanadoll.

I really love Soom's Little Gems, and I could probably have a whole collection of them haha. I am only planning on getting a Serin/Rico head, but you never know!

 

Almost 2 years to the day from my last post and I've gone from 79 dolls then to 90 from 50 different companies. I think it's funny that I started out collecting MSD and they're the smallest number of dolls in my collection at just 14. I have 27 tinies and 49 SD. I'm also counting the 50-ish cm boys as SD.

 

All my dolls are from different companies, and 2 are hybrids, so I have representatives of 8 different companies.

 

My full dolls come from 5 different companies, only two are a “one each.”

I’m not a brand loyalist, but I tend to be drawn to the same companies over and over because I like their style and they often have a lot of dolls that I like.

 

I have dolls/doll parts from 8 different companies, although I must admit I'm a bit of a Peaks Woods fanatic and I am not ashamed.

i just counted it all up, and right now i have 22 dolls-- but those 22 dolls are composed of resin from 26 different companies. out of my 22 dolls, only 3 are non-hybrids: Souldoll Robb, April Story Adrienne, and Iplehouse Audrey. the other 19 are all an absolute patchwork. i have no "brand loyalty" whatsoever and i like making hybrids

my two biggest Frankendolls are both ones that started off with old Mirodoll bodies. my first bjd was originally an Elfdoll head on a Mirodoll body, but at this point she really only has a Mirodoll torso-- everything else has been replaced with bits from other companies. my Granado guy on a Mirodoll body still has his whole body but with Iplehouse hands and Mystic Kids feet.

i ended up with two Dollmore head/Angel of Dream body hybrid dolls without planning it, because i bought an old AoD body thinking i was going to use it for a floating head, but the color match was irredeemable. and i didn't actually have any other floating heads to use it with...so i bought it a head. the only head i didn't already have that i was interested in at the time was Dollmore Aileen, so i got that one. it turned out to be such a cute hybrid! then i came across a Dollmore Skylar head on the marketplace and ended up buying her and giving my Angel of Dream Yuki's body to her so Yuki could move to an Impldoll Star body. sometimes my doll collection has felt like it was being built in a super haphazard game of Musical Chairs except with bodies and parts.

Impldoll has also ended up being heavily represented in my collection-- i actually have more dolls with Impl parts in their mix than any other company. again-- super unplanned. i have 2 Impl head sculpts (neither of which are on Impl bodies) and 5 dolls that have various Impldoll bodies, though none of the Impl bodies are the same one twice. they're just pretty good bodies for hybrids, imo.

i also ended up with 2 Dikadoll heads, 2 Elfdoll heads, and 2 Iplehouse heads. 3 of my dolls are on Resinsoul bodies, and 2 are on 5Stardoll bodies. i have a Supia head and a Supia body, but not together-- Supia Muriel is on a 5Stardoll body and Impldoll Crystal is on the Supia body...

...like i said, it's a complete resin hodge-podge. i choose doll heads because i like their faces, when making hybrids i go by what parts make a doll look the way i want it to, i have no regard for what's meant to go with what and i don't care at all about brands.

 

All together, my resin dolls are from about 6 companies i think? 4 of them are from 2 companies (Ringdoll and Loongsoul), and my other 3 are hybrids from 3 companies for the heads (Switch, Dream Valley, and an off topic company) and Resinsoul for the bodies. I'm not counting loose heads I have that I don't plan on bodying though. If i did that, then it'd be 8 companies xD

 

Going to update because it's fun to see. Out of 18 doll characters listed in my profile right now (including disembodied heads) I have parts from 25 different companies.
I have always liked hybrids, almost everyone is a hybrid. I also enjoy sampling variety of different makers intentionally.
Repeats by makers in my collection right now are from Little Rebel, Switch and Volks.

 

Thought it'd be fun to come back to this after a few new acquirements.

2 years later...

I have 9 full dolls and a floating head at home, and they represent 12 companies. 4 of the full dolls are head-body hybrids. My collection demographics are in this thread.

The 2 companies most represented are Dollstown and Volks, each with 1 full doll and 1 body hybrid, though Volks actually wins because a 3rd doll has hybrided Volks hands and wears them permanently. The other companies are represented once, either in a full doll or a head/body.
I love option parts (can't have too many hand poses!) and have parts from 4 more companies, but my dolls don't always wear them so I don't count them in the tally.

My original post still holds true. I love owning dolls from different creators and enjoy playing with a wide variety of joint engineering, and I don't own the same body twice, even the ones from the same company. My one floating head is waiting for a body and I plan to get that from a dollmaker I haven't tried yet.

 

At the moment I have dolls from four different companies. Six if you include bodies for the hybrids.

I've owned dolls from a lot more companies in the past, but now I have a better idea of what I really love so my interests have narrowed. I probably wouldn't even have the Iplehouse dolls if I wasn't so emotionally attached to them. They're not the style/size I would go for now but those ones are with me forever.

 

I have a massive collection that has reached almost 40 different companies and artists (several of the individual artists are off-topic, so not in my profile list). I've slowed down a bit, thank goodness, but I expect that list to grow at least a bit as I'm looking for specific body types for a couple lonely heads that have been waiting a while.

 

I’m a major Crobidoll fan so most of my dolls come from them, but I do have Loongsoul, IOS, and a Joydoll as well.

 

I love the variety in my crew and how well they all go together. The companies my dolls are from are crobidoll 1, fairyland 3, frappzilla 2, harucasting 2, merrydoll round 3, youpla dolls 1, dollshe 1, migidoll 2, and iplehouse 1. Its a very realistic vibe of different sizes shapes and tones of resin.

 

I don't stick to one company, I just buy anything according to my own sense of beauty. The biggest group is represented by Doll Chateau because I like their aesthetics. I have full dolls as well as hybrids.

Dream Valley, Dollzone, and LUTS continue to compete for my bias- I do have my favorites for engineering, but I also like variety.
