    2. About a month. I took the plunge and ordered a doll directly from the manufacturer... went to BJDC to get a taste of what I was getting into, and ordered an instock doll soon after. While I'm still waiting for the other doll to be delivered, it's fun thinking she has a friend waiting for her.

    3. I impulse ordered my second doll a month and a half after my first. A bit over a month later, my second doll showed up first! Some companies really spoiled us on wait times back then

    4. A couple months after she arrived, at most. She really needed a friend her size as all my others were much smaller.

    5. About 2 hours …….*_**_**_* Never keep searching for dolls after your purchase

    6. About a year, maybe a little bit less than a year... And then it was around 3 years before I bought another.

    7. I pre-ordered my second and third before my first was even in hand

    8. I ordered my second doll 2 months after my first and then I ordered my third doll 13 days later. ^^;

    9. Hm I think it was maybe a couple days!

    10. Like… 1 month before receiving the first one… and I printed 2 dolls on that time so I get used to a BJD XD.

    11. I think it was a couple a weeks most of my dolls when I first started out were secondhand so I didn’t have to wait that long for them

    12. I got my first doll new from the company, which took 2.5 months to arrive.
Second doll was bought secondhand, and came a month after the first.

    13. Mmmm.... probably about a month or two, I was way to excited about my first one so obviously I kept starring at other dolls and pulled the trigger for the second time, though he was my third doll to arrive. Long wait

    14. Three weeks, but the second doll was only a floating head. Didn't stay floating for long though!

    15. I ordered my first last December, and ordered my second back in March. So about 3 months. And then two in rapid succession around August. I did manage to get the first...first lol.

    16. 8 years....ish...possibly less but definitely in the years range, The first being late 2012, the "second" (tldr, the size was wrong) sometime in 2019, and then the one I count as my actual second being mid 2020.

    17. 9 years.

I was incredibly anxious about “wasting money” on a doll that might not work out. Finances, the fear of making a mistake, and many other factors were why it took me as long as it did.

Finally, at the end of 2021, I decided to take the plunge. It has been a rough road, mentally and emotionally, but I am glad I am able to have bjds again. <3

    18. About 5 or 6 years. My mom got me my first BJD at a young age (14 years old), but they were very expensive so I had to wait until I became a student to be able to afford my second one.

    19. 3 years!!
I received my first doll in start of 2014, at age 14, and I ordered the second one when I turned 16 or 17, I believe!

    20. About two months.

I ordered my first doll at the end of December 2017, but he was a pre order. So I got two in stock dolls while I was waiting, I bought them in February, but they arrived in March 2018.

My 2nd & 3rd doll showed up well before my 1st doll.

    21. Hm. I think about half a year? More or less?
I wanted so many dolls at the beginning, but I made a list and only got the first one on my first order. Then, to be sure I really like the doll, I removed myself from the hobby for about half a year and when I still wanted the second doll on my list so many months later, I decided to get him after all.
I'm planning on waiting at least a similar period of time for my next purchase.
That way I don't just hemorrage money.

    22. I waited like 13 years to get my first doll, which was in November 2022. Now I already bought my second 4 months later. So it took me a long time but now I've jumped right in!

    23. Seeing as a was a broke student with limited funds, a year or so :3

    24. About half a year to a year iirc!

    25. I bought two within hours on the second-hand market - both artist-designed Dollstown. Love them both to pieces. Am fighting the urge to keep adding to the collection

    26. Waited for a really long time before purchasing my first doll, but it took only half a year for me to buy a second one. She was in tan and I was afraid that she would be sold out pretty quickly. To this day, these two are the only BJDs that I own.

    27. I had my first doll for a year before I got another, then I got a lot, and there were periods of more and periods of less :whee:

    28. I think it was about 6 Month between first and second doll.

    29. 7 years. :blush

    30. Honestly, it was about... 9 months, if we go by arrival dates.

    31. It was about 8 years between my first and second doll. Mostly due to financial issues and moving. Then my second to third dolls was about a month lol

    32. My first doll was a Resinsoul Ya.. I ordered her being interested in BJD but not knowing anything about my personal style. When I got her I knew i liked BJD but wasn't too in love with her sculpt. It wasn't long before I found Lillycat and fell in love with Kitty Jolie. I sold my RS and got my Kitty a month later! Instantly in love :D

    33. A bit more than a year. I think my average is a doll per year, some years I got more than one, but some years I got none so it balances itself out.

    34. Around 6 months between first and second doll back in 2012. The last doll I bought, however, was in 2019 if I'm not mistaken.

    35. Fifteen years or so...I got my first doll as a teenager but because I lived in the country and didn't have great internet access I missed out on the community aspect of the hobby. I pulled her out last year with the intent of selling her and instead bought her a lot of friends

    36. Probably 3 days.

      On an unrelated note....

Did you know compulsive spending is a symptom of ADHD?

    37. Almost a two-year gap between my first and second doll . One is brand new and the other is second hand bought locally.

    38. If we're only counting resin, then about 8 years. I bought my Soom Teenie Gem in 2015, then my Doll Leaves Teenage Dream in 2023.

    39. When I first started in this hobby it took me 6 months between my first and second doll.

Going off my come back from hiatus (I came back into the hobby this year) it took me 3 months between dolls. It seems as if every 3 months I get a new doll at this point. All my adult "fun money" goes to my doll collection at this point.

    40. About 8 years! I got my first doll in 2016 as a teenager and between not quite clicking with him at first, guilt over such a large purchase, and mostly collecting playline fashion dolls at the time, he ended up in a closet pretty much until last year. It was actually when I was getting him out to sell that I fell back in love with BJDs and shortly after I ordered my second doll! Quite a few have followed in the year since. :)

    41. 2 weeks. Bought my first doll and wasn’t sure I wanted to be in the hobby. Th night I opened him I was in love and wanted another.

    42. About four years between my first doll and my second. For a long time I was content with only owning one doll, and I wasn't sure if the hobby wasn't just a short period interests. And well, it was 2012 and I am still in the hobby, with a growing collection :) And the third doll was ordered just a year later after the second, so things escalated quickly :sweat

    43. I took over a pre-order of someone else's so I didn't have as long of a wait in my mind! I ordered my Pasha Pasha Original on 5/31/23 and received her 11/3/23.

My second doll was a Pasha Pasha Simply Beautiful that I ordered on 1/3/24. I received her on 1/6/24!

Only 2 months between getting my first and second girl.

    44. I ordered my first in July and I’m still waiting for it. Since then, I’ve ordered another, and then ANOTHER second-hand. I don’t have any of them yet, and I keep coming up with flimsy justifications for them, like “my week was hard, I deserve to treat myself.” RIP my wallet

    45. If we're counting floating heads, then it was about a month and a half. I ordered my first doll in early July this year, then a head in mid-August. If we're talking strictly full dolls: I'm planning on ordering my second sometime this month. So... a little over three months. My first doll isn't even here yet...

    46. Only 4 months later (May - September), because my second doll arrived only one month after the order instead of the planned 5-7 months. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.

    47. I ordered my 2nd a few months after the first. The 1st arrived long after the 2nd. Crazy times.

    48. Nearly 5 months, but I actually received my first doll as my second because her preorder took so long! I ordered Rafeyah as my first in mid February and received her late October, and bought Nebo secondhand in late June and received him early July!

    49. Three months. I realise that it's a fantastic hobby and I want a doll taller and with more mobility. Now I've got dozen or more, from 10cm to 80cm and I am very happy with them.

    50. Maybe some months. I got my Ipleghouse Aria and some months later I orderder a doll for Shedoll because I wanted a Levi look alike doll. However I canceled the order 2 months later because I didn' feel any bond to thar sculpt and then i got my Iplehouse Juan.

    51. About 10 years.

I ordered my first doll 12th of November 2013, and I doted much on her when I received her. I never felt the need to have another doll, but after some years, my interest went dormant. It recently resurfaced this year but the style of doll I like changed, so I ordered my second one June 22nd this year. I then ordered my third one in September :)

    52. @Bellamina I am in the same boat! 10 year gang xD

Got my first doll in 2014, did a lot with him but at some point was distracted with studies/being new to work etc. I also simply didn't have the funds back then. Now, I randomly remembered him because I moved and went onto a google spree...suffice to say, ordered more dolls this month. But I plan to go the MSD route now... c:

    53. A few months! I hadn't planned on getting another one so soon but I fell in love and had the option to get the second doll on layaway. I got my first around summer 2023 and the second one arrived arround november-december of that same year.

    54. Surprisingly (to me), it was 1 year and 6 months (almost exactly).
I held back on a second full doll for quite a while.

    55. Actually 3 months, before receiving the first doll, I have ordered another ! Finally she arrived a month later than the first one ! As I explored the doll accessories, I simply wanted more dolls to fit different styles, and the doll company where I had bought the first one organised an event ! Not my fault absolutely lol

    56. My very first two dolls were actually ordered at the same time! I'd been a fan of this hobby for years, but when Little Monica first shut down I took the plunge! Bought my two favourite sculpts at the time (a 1/3 Haazel and a 1/4 Bear). My next doll was bought only half a year later..

    57. Pretty much exactly 2 years. After receiving my first one I had doubts about if this hobby was for me after all, but thankfully I ended up eventually getting the second doll since that one made me realize that no, it was just that particular doll that I first got that I didn't like, not BJDs in general. :)

    58. I'm not sure. I think it may have been a few days, although I could be misremembering and maybe the first two arrived together.

I do know that within a year I had 10 dolls and a floating head. LOL!!

    59. I went over a year between my first and second doll, I just wasn't in the best space to expand my collection nor did I find a sculpt in that time that I really wanted to bring home. What's funny to me about this hobby is that the more dolls I have the more I want..... So I started out a little listless in terms of what I wanted my collection to look like, but now each doll I get inspires me with new characters and ideas for new dolls

    60. I had to go back through my phone photos to not make a lair out of myself but a year and a half. I did good looking back compared to now lmao. I give myself credit though because that was my first doll and it was a custom that cost quite a bit of money compared to my budget at the time. I also didn’t know as many brands as I do now and was figuring out what I did and did not like at the time while enjoying what I had.
