How do you cope with the waiting?

I torment myself by watching all the BJD youtube videos I can find, and looking for new BJD pictures, and keep making myself more and more anxious for that new BJD.

 

In a word; poorly
I ordered my first doll (a Doll Leaves Yoko) on the 20th of February and it still looks like I have another week minimum before she even gets shipped! I ended up ordering another doll in the mean time, even though I said I wouldn't...so I have an April Story Diana on her way as well! She was only purchased last Saturday though, and after reading up on the company, who knows how long I have to wait for her! It's seriously driving me nuts right now, but it's just making me all the more excited to have them home!!

 

I buy them stuff. Too much stuff, usually. Wig, eyes, clothes, accessories... I research and try to choose their name and write a bit of their background story. I plan out their faceup. And then I panic and count down the days!

 

I'm honestly going insane waiting for my first doll to get here. He's a gift from a friend, and even though the shipping is domestic it's still taking EIGHT THOUSAND YEARS according to my brain. He's supposed to be here either tomorrow or Tuesday, and uuugggggghhhh I'm crawling out of my skin, lol.

 

Well my Doll Chateau has maybe another month before I hear about her being shipped. Then however long for her to get to the store I ordered from. Then I have to make time to go get her.

I'm checking wait lists everyday and harassing people on FB about how long it took for their doll to get here.

Thing is it took 2 years before I even bought her. So I'm waiting 2 years and 6+ months for her...

I think I'm a relatively patient person but 6+ months is... Difficult.

 

Trying to hunt for The Perfect Wig for her! Because she can't use one of Hyacinth's, Hyacinth needs those!

 

I usually hunt down the post man xD if anything comes xD

 

I’m sure I hate the wait just as much as anyone else xD but I spend my time trying to plan out the look I want for the Doll, researching props and clothes, and occasionally even drawing out the character I see in my mind

 

Only 6 - 8 weeks before your doll arrives? You got it easy. I order from DC which is known for 6 - 8 month waits.

 

I have enough other things going on in my life that I can usually put it out of my mind though, so it's not too bad. I've got finals right now then winter break then Christmas then next semester, plenty of things to keep me occupied.

 

I am waiting on two of the new 30cm Granado Lucifer's so I can't buy anything for them yet and I can't afford to buy dolls either so I bought Head holder busts for my floating heads. I don't know if they will come in before my Granado boys but it kept me from purchasing another doll.

 

The waiting is difficult xD I like to find clothes and stuff while waiting, like, what I want them to wear or look like, but not buy anything yet. Sometimes I play The Sims 4 and create my dolls there to help me get through this

 

I ordered my first after wanting to buy her for months and once I decided on getting one I started planning out a new one and making accessories.

 

I'm not coping well, my doll isn't set to arrive until November! I'm trying to stay busy with other things, but mostly I'm browsing for clothes, wigs, etc. to try not to obsess too much haha
