Whoo! Good luck to everyone who's trying for an outfit . I'm going for the Cream Mille-feuille dress and the girl Kitty Coat set. I hope I can get them both, but the cream dress is first priority .

Now I just need my Papi shipping notice. C'mon Volks, if you ship her out by Tuesday I'll have her for the next Vegas meetup!

 

I am proud to say I have finally decided what i am getting.
At first I wanted the purple girl hakama set for Umeko (because she has those lilac lips) but I dont think she would really wear it. Rai_Kamishiro wants me to get her the boy's pleated skirt set so that will really be a priority.

Because I already have the pink kitty set for "Maru-Dashi", my Papi, and I hope to have "Moro-Dashi", a Lin, be "twin" angels (and because Dolpa 17 has that new MSD kitty set) all three of my female angels need kitty outfits
Maru's "color" is baby pink, Moro's is Baby Blue, and the un-named MSD's color is light brown (The "color"s are the colors their wings will be blushed)

Oh god yes! I remember in the AE I couldn't even get it to my cart. The minute it appeared, i clicked it, and it was sold out.

 

Ahhhh... I'm going to cry~ the only thing I wanted was Cream Mille-feuille and it was gone before I could check out... in like... less than a MINUTE. I was typing so fast... ;_;

(Yeah, I had the bolero set page open but decided 'nay' when the price ended up $30 more... )

Were they all put on sale at once? The instant they came up, the White Rose Collection's Ruffle Skirt Set said it wasn't available. I tried to put it in my cart 3 times.....

I got the Bunny Ears set in my cart, checked out, and then....my internet died. Everything. I had to totally restart my box.

The Ruffle Skirt Set is still saying not available and.....I think I've just lost my chance.

Well, I did manage to get the Bunny Ears Hoodie set for my boy! That's definitely something to be thankful for and it's great that the long wait between the AE and now paid off! It's just that I agonized for days over whether I really wanted to spend $86 on the Ruffle Skirt set and now all that agony was for nothing.

 

I kno! the set i bought is already sold out. I know manami got one and I got one- I wonder how many they had on the site??

I was tempted to get the Black Rose Corsage Set that I've been waffling over, but I remember a lot of people saying they really wanted it, so I think I'll leave it be.

Hopefully I have better luck with the Dolpha 17 AE since there are SO MANY things I want from that...


...I actually much prefer the Japanese AE, since things stay in my cart as long as I'm stubborn about trying to check out. :P Everything goes faster, but I always have better luck with it.

Well, out of the two things I wanted I'm at least glad it was the one that would be easier to make something similar to with my own hands but yeah T.T... just curious if anything else did that too... does that normally happen in aes/after sales?

 

Well, i know the prices are more than in japan because they take into account the freight cost from japan to the usa store. And probably other factors like additional overhead for store itself.

 

This is my first time trying on the VOLKS USA shopping site, and I didn't know that the cart works quite different than VOLKS JP.
You won't know if you will get the stuff until hitting the order buttom....
When I hit check out they said some items were already unavailable even though I had them in my carts
So I only got what I want......The other clothes I tried to get for my friends were out by the time I checked out.

 

I think the price on the bolero jacket set was a mistake to begin with. I went and looked, and it was 6700 yen on the International AE page. With their normal markup, $70 would be the right price.

I'm still trying to force the ruffle skirt set into my cart, but it's not happening.

 

I know how you feel pastelflower, I keep trying to get the bunny set into the cart and its not working either. I did get the wig I wanted and the cordury set.

Well, I got two of the DD Black Asymmetrical wigs I was wanting for Viktor and Zacky, so I am happy. We got the varigated asymmetrical for MyMel0dy's to be built Quinn, so we are both happy. We had the Bunny Hoodie set in the cart and were in the process of paying for it, but lost it before we could finish the transaction. Oh well. I got the one thing I really wanted. I hope everyone else did as well!

 

Yeah, I figured as much~ I just couldn't remember how much they were asking in yen for it. They were probably using one page as a template and just forgot to fix the price on that one, Turynn.

And... I feel your pain pastelflower, I've been trying to add the Cream set to mine as well. Actually going back and forth between that and looking at the Y!J ones... I don't think I want to pay $110 for it, though. For that much I could commission a seamstress I know to make something in a similar style, but totally unique.

 

*cries* I didn't realize they Volks had said what time these items would be up for sale and I missed the one thing I wanted. I just wanted the Yo-SD girl kitty set since I never could get my hands on the pink dress with the kitty hood. I feel sick.

They took the Yo-SD Kitty set out of my cart before I even could check out.... >___<; And the items that I was trying for my friends were unavailable by the time I clicked to add them to the cart... Sigh. Oh well. There's always next time I guess. But I feel horrible knowing that I wasn't able to get my friends' items.

...I keep thinking they might not have actually sold the Ruffle Skirt Set.

They weren't sold at the International AE; the Dolpa White Rose Collection sets were sold at the spring outfit sale last week (and took quite a while to sell out, too. They didn't seem to be very popular). Could this mean VolksUSA might really sell them when/if they get the spring outfits in?

If the sales go by who checks out first, I should have been able to put it in my cart. I was right there at the first moment the buttons came up, even if they only had one available, I don't understand why I couldn't have put it in the cart! No one could possibly have checked out that fast.

 

I also noticed when the black rose set button came up at 1:58pm, and tried to put it in my cart, but was told it was sold out.

I clicked back and tried again, and it worked, and i was able to check out.

It's possible they didnt update stock on it?

 

Not the pink girl's set. The boy's set is still available. My Yuki is a girl though, and I was dying to have the pink dress.

 

Well, I had the pink kitty ears set, and the cream mille-fueille dress in my cart but by the time I checked out, they said unavailable. Bummer. I've never shoped YJ, do you need a service to order for you? If anybody got an extra of these 2 items that they would like to sell, pm me with your price. My girls are crying now! Congrats to everybody who was able to get what they wanted, boy they went fast!

 

Unfortunately I missed out on the Yo-SD sets at least I got MSD sets for my future FCS doll. I fel bad as I was trying for the Yo SD boy set for Tinybear.

I feel very fortunate today. Like a dope I stayed up until about 8am PDT. I think I was too revved about the upcoming Volks event. I slept for a few hours and sprang awake at 10:45 and dashed downstairs to turn on the computer. Nearly died waiting for the blasted thing to start up enough so I could go online. I managed to get all 4 of my items (SD wig, black rose boy set, and both the pink & cream floofy pink label outfits). My husband & I were bidding on an ebay auction for an amplifier that was ending at 11:05. So he used the laptop to bid on that (had to ward off the last minute swoop of snipers).
He was lucky too and won the amplifier. Wow! The adrenalin rush was practically audible. We spent oodles of money in less than 5 minutes!!!

I'm so slow and woke up at 12:30 today and then I finally realized that the Osaka Dolpa items were on sale today! O_O

But SD16 jeans and the SD16 shoes as well as other non-Osaka Dolpa stuff like dressmaking pattern books and that Volks dollfie carrying case. :3

I got the red hakama set and the black rose corsage set. I was counting down the minutes until 2pm

 

I managed to get most of the items I wanted, but unfortunately, I didnt get the Black Pleated Skirt Set for my boy. I did manage to pick up the pink mille-fleille dress, the Boys' bunny hoodie, the fringe corduroy jacket set, and the fur bolero DD set. Im happy with today's winnings, and Im just as amused by today's turnout of people.

I woke up early, and I was actually surprised to be the 18th person in line by the time I got there at 10:40AM. Yeah, I counted. I overheard the employees say that one person was waiting in front at 9:30 AM and more kept coming afterwards. But, deep down, I think I knew that there'd be competition for the items this time around.

I could not get to sleep last night, since I think I was too anxious for todays event. This was bad, because I just felt tired, anxious, and not in the mood to be cramped in a small space by the time I got to the store.

The lady in front of me held a very adorable Kurumi. I understand now why shes such a popular sculpt. The couple behind me had a neat Isao and another doll that I dont remember. But both were dressed well. It was interesting to see so many owner dolls at the store.

 

I did not get the items I wanted either, but I'm not shocked.. I can't understand why they don't follow the Volks Inc's site and make the option to confirm the cart, so you can keep shopping without someone else buying the item right out of your cart.

I sent them an email about this and was given the brush off in an email, about how its the number of people on the site and they would look into it.

They could fix this problem by adding the option to confirm the items as you put them into your cart. Its not like you could hold an item in your cart for a few days.

 

Danielfalls - Were you at volks for the valentines day fair sale also???? Were there any of the cool sd13g and boy sets left then? Maybe I should contact you everytime theres an outfit offering at Volks! I missed THAT sale completely....
This time around, I actually got the items I wanted!!! What a surprise, and how much cheaper than getting some of these on YJ. From what I could tell, no one else here wanted the things I wanted, so maybe thats how and why I was able to get these! Alex

 

The one with Isao in back of you was my boyfriends and I was holding my Emma. I always see you at the store but didn't know that Daniel Falls was you. I've talked to you on here before. haha
I was able to get all the items I wanted except for the pleated skirt set too. Oh well, I' have to get in line extra early next time!

 

Ayase:Oh, hi! I think I recognize you, since youre usually with your boyfriend. And there are only so few guys who ever go to the Volks store. I also remember you scolding your boyfriend for being late this morning. lol.

But honestly, my parents live 10 minutes away from Volks USA, and I was also irritated that I was near the end of the line. I just didnt expect there to be so many people. Sadly, I knew that I probably wouldnt have a chance to get the skirt set, since I think that was the most popular item. And being the 18th person in line, I knew that I had no chance of getting one.

Nathankatt: Yeah, I was at the Volks store for the Valentines event. Wall to wall people in one small room. It always makes me anxious, but I was lucky enough to grab the SD13 Boys velour jacket set, the SD Girls retro floral outfit, and the pink DD floral dress set. There were a few sets left over at the end of the day, since I went back later that same day. But the popular items like the retro floral set and the purple boys coat were all sold out by then as well.

 

Well that seals it, I'm contacting Daniel Falls the next time theres a clothing fair at the Volks store!!! You got some good pieces at the Valentines Day fair - I havent seen any of this stuff up in the secondary market on DOA / Ebay (but did see overpriced sets on YJapan) - Alex

 

I'm pretty happy with what I was able to get today and had tons of fun dressing up! I bought both the cream & pink mille-feuille dress sets. One for my Emma and one for my boyfriend's Kurumi. I had to beg this one girl to give me one of her pink ones since I noticed that she had 2 but she wasn't going to buy both anyways. Next time, I'm bringing my brother to help me raid the store. poopers.

Daniel Falls: Yup, I always go with my boyfriend since he's the only person I know that is also into this crazy expensive hobby. I remember you because you're almost there everytime when I'm there and you're always by yourself. I live 30 mins away from Volks which sucked since I was hungry but in a hurry to get to Volks but noooo my boyfriend wanted to eat so we got there later than planned. You're lucky to live 10 mins away from the store!

 

I actually think that you're lucky to have gotten the cream mille-feuille dress! That dress is nostalgic of Card Captor Sakura adventures to me. I dont know how I missed out on that, since I was ahead of you. I must have grabbed the last corduroy fringe set while you must have grabbed the last cream set. At the end I settled on a pink set, since the quality on both is amazing, and I havent seen any lolita styles as good as these from Volks before.

Ive actually lived in Torrance most of my life before Volks ever set up shop, so its less luck and more convenient coincidence. I dont know anyone in the immediate area who likes these expensive dolls, nor do I know anyone at UCLA who shares the same hobby. I mainly attribute my interest in Volks dolls to my friend from Chicago who invited me to the Volks tea parties. So Ive only met and made friends with people from out of state.

Also, I usually stop by Volks USA while I drive to and from college in Westwood and my parents home in Torrance, so Im usually by myself. And the employees have already labeled me as a "regular" since I stop by nearly each weekend. All of my local friends either arent interested, cant afford it, or think these dolls are scary.

And come to think of it, I think I remember you and your boyfriend being there when I picked up a FCS doll for my friend back in January, right?

 

Well, my order status page for the clothing says my items have shipped (and there's a tracking number!) but I didn't receive an email. I figured I'd post here and let everyone else know they might want to check the order status page ^_-.

Also. . .I don't think two outfits, a pair of eyes, and some extension hair weigh 2 pounds. I think they may have slipped my Papi in the box with the outfits, but that order's status hasn't changes O_o.

Mine says it weighs .50 lbs. It's just one outfit...I wonder if they just count each item as weighing a 1/2 lb for their system.

Robbery! But the international Volks site robs us, too. They charged me 2500 yen for EMS shipping at the spring clothing sale, but the actual charge was only 1500 yen.

I paid for my Papi today, Rochelle at Kerbey Lane Doll Shoppe said those who paid today via them should have them shipped thursday or friday. but still no word from WLD. Makes me wonder when you all will hear from Volks, I kinda thought they would ship theirs first @_@

Actually Volks does already have the LE items in hand. I was there Saturday and talked to the manager. He said that they're just getting things checked over, making sure that there are no broken parts and stuff like that.
