Hello, world!

Jan 7, 2024

    1. Hello! I'm oneironym, or Kumo (they/them), and I finally got into dolls early last year, but this is my first time posting.

      Back when I was 16, I discovered these dolls and was fascinated with the beautiful sculpting and artistry that went into them, but also high school me didn't exactly have the means to really get one. After rather a lot of Life happening, I got my first real grown-up job in late 2022, and in early 2023, I got myself a Dream Valley Silence as a gift for 20-years-ago me, who I think would be surprised and pleased with where I've ended up ;;

      Lol, I was warned that, once I got one, I wouldn't be able to stop, and I have ended up with ... a few more friends in the last year. But I am looking forward to doing some of my own sewing for them, and face-ups (when the temperature outside is more sealant-spraying-friendly). Also hoping to up my photography game, and share pics of my collection with you all.

      Lovely to meet you!

    2. Welcome to the hobby!

      Did you get the human body or the one with the extra monster arm for Silence? Dream Valley is a fun company, they have some unusual designs for sure.

      Yes, they do multiply, don't they? I'm a slow collector myself, but even I have a lot more dolls than I ever thought I would. :XD:
      Sewing and other crafts are a great way to enjoy the dolls. Looking forward to anything you want to share on the forums.

    3. I got the monster arm version. I love how many cool fantasy sculpts are out there now! Dream Valley's selection really appeals to me a lot - I've got Izzy now from them, and also Julianne, lol.

    4. Cool!
      I've never owned a Deam Valley doll myself, but I keep an eye on them. I like their style. They remind me a lot of Doll Chateau and Doll Zone dolls.
      The discussion thread for the 1/4 sized Dream Valley dolls is here.

    5. The person who warned you is right lol. You'll go from having one doll to having countless dolls, lol. Welcome aboard!!!! Enjoy the world of dolls!!!
