Have your dolls hurt you?

My Lati Yellow Lami was placed on a shelf above my bed. I was lying on my bed when something small fell on my forehead with a nasty "TWAK"... She rolled on my cushion with out any harm while I have a nasty bruise on my forehead. Talk about being cute...

 

I've gotten my fingers pinched/stuck more than a few times, and if I'm using an exacto knife for any reason with my dolls, I invariably end up stabbing myself.

It wasn't myself, but I accidentally whacked my friend in the head really hard with my doll once. o__o; That was hilarious but awful at the same time.

 

I got rope burn so bad while re-stringing (the elastic slid out of my hands) that I bled! Though, I supposed it was fair trade for having my doll naked and dismembered on the floor....he got his revenge.

 

So far the most "vicious" of my dolls was the Luts Kid Delf Ani boy I owned back in 2009. My first restringing of him I got burned by the strings abit and he managed to draw blood. I didn't have spare strings so he had my blood on them - I guess he just wanted a part of me with him always? >_>;;

So far my Kira (Volks Ayumu) hasn't hurt me at all. If I tried to take his head off without a tool for the s-hook I'd probably injure myself but that wouldn't be his fault so much as mine for being dumb lol. Most of my dolls have been pretty nice though. I think Ani was bad because he was my first doll that I took apart and put back together. I didn't know what I was doing very well the first time.

 

Before I restrung my 65cm boy, he always headbutted me, pinched me, kicked me, and punched me. xD He doesn't do it anymore though.
I got lots of blisters from restringing, though.

 

A few weeks ago I was holding a Volks MSDs on my bed when she suddenly folded in half like a taco. On the way down she head butted me just right in the chest to knock the air out of me. It didn’t hurt at all but I was like “gah can’t breath!” for a few seconds.

 

They did not hurt me ( yet) but they hurt my wallet

 

My friend just got a 90cm in, and when I was at her house last night trying to stand him up, I caught the entire bit of webbing between my thumb and forefinger stuck in his knee joint. Luckily I managed to remove my flesh from his joint by myself. It still hurts a little bit though.

Oddly enough, that's the first time I've ever been pinched by a doll...

Smacked myself in the mouth with a pair of plyers trying to get a head on one of my boys, gums were bleeding swollen lip lots of fun and cursing.

 

When I got my first DOC Cory I gave him a good restringing for the sake of it -- not really because it was going to improve anything. I just wanted to. Restringing him the first time proved to be such an ordeal that I was frustrated to the point of tears. I remember writing about it in my old blog later and being emotional and furious over the whole thing in the way only a 16 year-old can get. I was pretty uh, well, pissed off.

After denting Cory's joints with a crochet hook I immediately got a little more clever and started using dental floss to thread between the doll string loops and joints because it's so high tensile it absolutely will not break no matter how hard you pull, and it's easy to put through the joints because the wax helps keep it in a straight line. It can hurt a bit, but it's so much easier than using the force of a thousand suns to string a doll with a pair of crochet hooks, which is way more accident prone anyways.

 

Re-strung my Ai the day I got her, and her wrist S-Hook slipped through my fingers and sliced my thumb open X3 I'm sure that has happened to someone else.

 

Yep, happened to me. Fun times, those silly s-hooks.

 

I sanded my hand while modding ears once. Does that count? >.>; lol Otherwise, I suppose I've been lucky x_x;

 

So far, I've been headbutted twice by my doll as well as been pinched by some of his joints and cut my finger and made it bleed on the elastic I strung him with-.-' Oh the wounds of love haha!

 

I had been meaning to hotgluesuede Ryuichi's dancer's leg, but I forgot while I was helping a friend move.

He reminded me he needed it done by pinching my leg when I sat him on my lap to drive somewhere!

Stephen, my BBB Apollo, headbutted me two or three times the first day I got him - but because BBB's are notorious for being very, very loose, the headbutt was more like a slow collapse, head-first, into my shoulder. Had he been strung any tighter, or had he went faster, it would've hurt.

 

I've certainly had plenty of torso pinching from the FDoll body! I noticed that he only does it when I make fun of him or tell him to stay still :P
Also, a puncture in my hand from that little bugger's s-hook, was restringing at 2 in the morning >.>

 

Vivica is a kicker. Since I got her and took her out of the box, she's been a kicker. Of course, it's only because her elastic is too short(she came to me that way) and she needs very much to be restrung with new elastic. Other than that though, there really haven't been any attacks/attempts on my life from my dolls. ^^;

 

When I was restringing Dulcie for the first time as an uneducated dimwit, I pulled her hand waaay far away from her body so that I could take it off, because I had no idea what I was doing (I do now, thank god), and the bamboo I was using to hold it decided to troll me and fall over, thus plunging the hand-hook on rebound deep into my cuticle. Being impaled by a thick, blunt metal object is an experience no one needs to have. I almost went to the hospital, but I'm a man (actually that is a lie) and therefore have an aversion to going.

 

Ayup. Ciel Doesnt seem to like me all the time, and can be rather ungreatful. one time, i was putting her new dress on, as well as her wig, and when i finished, she headbutted me! She did it again after i gave her her first faceup, and many times just out of spite. -^- I got her tightened, though, so she doesnt do that very often anymore.

Well I've been slapped a few times.. Also my boys torso never fails to pinch me ._.

 

Just recently my boy headbutted me in between my eyes. Ouch!
A lot of times pinched by his thighs and also waist joint.

Ooh dear. XDMy Narisa has done quite a few things...She has kicked me in the tummy and face before.I've also had her claw me. She got me right across the face and even drew blood.People at work started asking if I was attacked by a cat lol.

 

My Dollzone Asura is strung really tight and I haven't gotten around to re-stringing him yet. I was just changing his hands out to his new jointed ones and the s-hook slipped, going through my thumb like a fish hook. The s-hook was still through his wrist ball and the elastic. I had to carefully get the s-hook off the elastic so I could get it out of my thumb. I got blood all over the s-hook and some on his wrist ball. Man that was unpleasant. Next time I'm getting help if the doll is strung tight and I need to change out hands!

 

Both my DollZone boys have pinched me a lot. With Vulgar it's expected, though, since his character is a butthead.
My puki, though, has never hurt me!
And pretty sure porcelainmorge's Leeke boy has pinched me a couple of times since I made pants for him and battled with him to stand. -sigh- And her DZ girls probably have, too...

Oh yes, many times. One of my doll has a head cap that uses rubber band instead of magnets and pinches my hand to remove every time very painful. My husband only comments was "Yeah, my wallet."

 

I used to hate restringing my dolls =[ because my hands, especially my fingers, were full of bruises by the end of the day. I call my brother now every time I take apart any of my boys. I learned my lesson =.=

 

My new boy, a Doll Chateau Kid Hugh, is stung quite tightly, and he's got a ridge on his back so he'll stay in a slouching position. I was holding torso, while he was slouching, to stabilize him as I posed the rest of his body. Then he snapped back into an upright position, pinching my finger in his back. Dx

Yes, it drew blood. Hahah.

 

yes..... my dolls love to hurt me my jollyplus boy is such a pain to re-string i always end with bruises and he's quite the kicker. he kicked my cat in the face with his huge boots needless to say she doesnt go sniffing around them too much anymore

also when i first got my delf boy i didnt realize his nipples were so sharp they actually cut me!

 

Holy crap sharp nipples!? If any female dolls have sharp nipples remember to warn their boyfriends before they start groping!!!

Benjamin has been fairly nice to me, he's only lightly pinched me with his knee. But stringing him is a WHOLE different story. A tightly strung tiny is a DANGEROUS tiny! Since the elastic is pulled really super tight and its short, so it has even more tension, getting feet on is a scary process. Even moving the S hook or pulling it out just slightly is painful. My fingers were numb the first time I re strung him. Then again I wasn't fully prepared either.

Now I make sure I have his stringing ribbon, and a chair near.

Though said earlier (heh a few years earlier to be exact) is probably by far the most painful: getting pinched where the sun don't shine must be horrific.

and when i try to put skirt on him ... (yes ... him and skirt ...) he just pinch me between his jointed leg and arm ~ OTL

When re-stringing my BBB Apollo (who has since moved on) I was tightening him and somehow the fleshy part of my inner thigh got caught in his thigh joint. It hurt so bad! I had an awful blood blister for some time.

 

Restringing usually involves lots of pinching and sore fingers. >.<

 

Well, my DIM boy has pinched my fingers more than once while I've been playing with him, or dressing him, but tonight he topped it all by stabbing me with a pencil.
I was restringing him, and I was using the pencil to stop his leg elastics retracting. I pulled on the pencil to give me some slack to hook his foot on, he somehow managed to pull back, pull my finger with it, and dig the (very sharp) lead of the pencil into my finger!!

I tried getting a shirt on one of my dolls. And I had him laying in my lap to do so. I forgot exactly how it happened, but he kicked me in the face and gave me a bloody lip. xD

 

My HZ Feng pinched my fingers last Saturday and I got a bad blood blister. This guy is strung really tight! The same day later, I was restringing my RS Song and didn't think of my blood blister - while I was pulling his arm strings, the blister bursted and I got my blood all over Song and the brand new strings. No problem with the resin, it's clean now, but his strings are bloody veins now until I can order him some new.

 

Pinchy joints, snap backs when restringing, I've been head butted a few times... I've been a victim of my dolls.

 

Restringing can be brutal. Also the new Super Gem body's elbows are pretty pinchy.

 

Ha ha I am so glad I am not alone here! I didn't think it would be possible for my dolls to hurt me as many times as they have considering I haven't had them for that long. (under 6 months)

I often pose him standing on my desk while sitting in my desk chair (so he's standing quite a bit above me) and if he's feeling mean sometimes his upper half will collapse and he smacks me on the head with his face/chin! It hurts a lot especially if I don't realize that he's falling (working closely to him on his laces or something detailed like that) and he gains some momentum lol. Actually the very first time it happened was the day I got him lol. I learned not to hold him in a standing position by his legs, but rather his waist so he can't flop. He also likes to pinch me with his joints, though not nearly as much as Winter . I can often be heard during photoshoots yelling, among other things, "Hey! Don't pinch!" and I get laughs and awkward stares lol.

He's a pinchy little booger if I had to say anything about him! His body is strung really, really tightly and I frequently get my skin pinched in his joints when posing him. He even gave me a blood blister once with his super kicky knee joint that snapped closed on it's own on my poor ring finger! It actually hurt enough to make me yelp and bring tears to my eyes and it hurt for days until I got up the courage to pop it and relieve the pressure. Little sadist lol...
Also when I was restringing his arms I had no ribbon to use so my roommate/bestie (who watched/helped my floundering attempts to restring his arms and laughed her butt off) gave me some of her bracelet making string. Baaaad choice, but I had no other options. My circulation in my fingers was cut off almost instantly when I started applying tension and since it was my first time restringing any part of a BJD ever, I had to do this several times to get everything right. My fingers were swelled like red sausages and raw from the string slipping sometimes under the tension and giving me "rope" burns.
It suuuucked.

Dolly injuries hurt but just make me love them more lol because it gives them personality. Mean personality lol but still personality. Makes them seem so mischievous ^_^

 

Like most people posting, I too have got my fingers caught in joints. But I have also been posing my boy, Lucien, and as I am adjusting his legs he has fallen over and cracked me on the head. I also had an incident where my doll, Matthias, was sitting and I went to move him and the elastic in his one arm let lose and he made a "smacking" motion on my face... this didn't hurt so much as it was just really weird haha.

 

Long before knowing the wonders of kips on the neck area = several headbutts to the nose when trying to fix his wig
And long before learning the usefulness of forceps when stringing a body = hand/feet projectiles hitting me too

 

Seraphine kicks me when I'm dressing her sometimes. Ces still hasn't hurt me though.

 

Do you know what is even worst than getting skin pinched by joints? It's getting a big MASSIVE CHUNK of Idealian torso hitting your head suddenly while you're trying to make him stand or whatever. That's the point when you say: go stand by yourself, ARF!

 

Many times i took photos of my girl and she was always very wise and cute, but once i try to take one with my boyfriend. I installed her next to his head like he was lying in the bed, and just one second after i press the button, my doll suddenly felt down and gave him a head-butt right in his check. She didn't wear her wig... and apparently a MSD's bald head heart very bad ^^'. My poor love !

 

Yes..... My DreamingDoll Misora was standing on my sister's desk and when she leaned over to do something Cinnamon's legs buckled and she went down! I was sitting on my sister's bed right next to the desk and went to catch her, her head hit my head hard with her nose! It hurt so bad tears came to my eyes, but I only started to cry when I found Cinnamon was alright lol.

 

Me? No, My wallet? yes lol. I guess you count the soreness from restringing

 

*crosses fingers* not yet. But I fear the 'goose' pinches (in joints) and the black eye a fellow club member got from being kicked by a tightly strung doll O_o. But what I fear most is my dolls getting hurt. I heal they don't.

 

I haven't hurt myself too bad yet, but I know it's coming. Angelo has "bitten" me several times with his back/butt joints, but never left a mark. The S-hook in Lily's head is a horror. It's got this really jagged piece that pokes and it hurts. I took her head off once and it took me twenty minutes to get it back on. (It takes me like two minutes to pop Angelo's head on and off.)

 

my girl recently started pinching me with her thigh joint when I'm sitting her down or straightening her legs (I totally deserve it for letting her fall twice though)

 

One of my guys almost poked my eye out. I was trying to fix up one of his shoes so my face was bent pretty close when suddenly his arm snapped up and got me near the eye. I don't know what I expected since this one gets punchy at the slightest movement.

 

So far none of mine has hurt me at all... well except for my wallet but that's a different story

I bought a Doll Family doll to get a body for a floating head, so when he arrived, the first thing I did was try to remove the head. He was strung super tight, though, and the S hook in his head was really small. I hooked my finger under it and pulled it up...but the tension pulled my finger down the neck hole together with the hook! Ack, it hurt soo much and my finger was stuck in there, trapped under that hook. I had to just force my finger out, and go around with ice on it the rest of the day. It put a damper on the new arrival for sure ;_; And I ended up not liking the body for my floating head.

I haven't had any real incidents other than that, just some strenuous restringing sessions, or the difficulty of scrubbing off old body blushing, sanding, etc.

 

I restrung my Stasia the other day to make her strings tighter and her torso snapped back and smacked my finger nail making most of the whole thing black

 

The times when I think I'm strong enough to twist neck hooks and take heads off without forceps.. but otherwise, no.

 

Jethro got me good the other day. He was sitting on my lap, shirtless, when he snapped back onto my exposed arm. I've never had any issue with my previous dolls pinching me so I got a little careless, I guess. Luckily, no blood was drawn but I had a good inch long bruise on my arm.
