You did such a lovely photoshoot. I've been seeing your pictures all over the place. Your dolls are so adorable.

 

Aww thanks guys/galls/nonbinary! They were so much fun to drag around and pose all over the place, also they fitted perfectly into my photobag XD I'm so glad you're enyoing them!

 

You're Adori (that already sounds plural) are amazing! I just sent mine off for face and body work and this is the first time I've actually missed a doll/s during that waiting period. But then I've always just sent out heads before.

 

I received my Adori with both heads and really, really like him! The outer box was soaked because we've been getting a lot of rain but Adori came out smiling and in great shape. Wow, does the smiling face ever cheer things up!

 

I was one of the people lucky enough to get one of the 30 giveaway Adori heads, and I grabbed at the opportunity to order a smiling head and a Version 2 body the first day they were offered. I'm still very new to the hobby, but this doll is really something special -- I am just about to send him out for a professional face-up, and I miss him already! I'll be counting the days until he comes back to me.

I'm watching Haru's development of Nanni closely, too, and saving up for the inevitable moment that I fall in love with that sculpt like I did the sculpt of her brother.

 

I just saw a photo of Nanni onTumblr and she's adorable, she has the toddler cheeks young kids have, really cute!

Hi I have one of the original 30 heads too, only I gave him a littlefee body and bought a tan girl. I've just sent her head off for a face up and I'm missing her so much -shes so adorable !

@Hasel Iseul is so pretty and the flowers only help to enhance her beauty ! And I agree Nanni is dead cute, those cheeks are do pinchable lol

How do you guys think Adori compares to an Iplehouse doll? I'd like to have a realistic looking 1/6 doll to go with my Iplehouse dolls. I was planning on a BID, but none of those sculpts endear themselves to me quite as much as Adori in owner pictures. But, I'm worried the style difference might make him not fit with my girls, and I like for my dolls to have a little group they fit into. Anyone with a KID or JID that could weigh in?

 

Well, I have KID and JID dolls, too! (I really need to get a Flickr account so I can show you some comparison pics...I'll have to do that this week.)

I actually like my Adori with my JID "I". His scale makes him look like a 4-5 year old against her more teen-years scale. If my JID had the larger bust and/or a more mature face sculpt, I could see how she'd work even as a mom-character to his scale.

The KID dolls are also a good "big sister" scale for him. If he's 4, then Lisa seems like a 10-year-old against him.

I've also been known to play him off as a 9-10 year old against my resin 16" fashion dolls, for even greater play-ability and more photo opportunities. But the Iplehouse girls are my go-to for most of these things.

Samson, your Loki and Hasel's Iseul are both so gorgeous -- I have been debating the idea of ordering a tan-skin Adori for myself when the next ordering period opens, and when I see your dolls I feel like the debate is over! I love those little dolls in the tan!

 

So here's some pictures of my Iplehouse girls with the Adori doll, so you can compare the scale of them. The Adori (Henry) stands and poses like a dream without a stand or sueding, but the Iplehouse JID "I" (Brooke) needs a stand:

FYI: Haru just announced that the next pre-order period for Adori will run 6/15 to 7/15.

I can already tell I'm gonna crack and order my tan little girl!

 

They do layaways, right? (hope, hope)

 

They did have a layaway. Buyer had to pay everything in two payments.

I wonder will they have Adoris elf versions for sale?

 

Oh man, an Adori elf version would slay me!

Ohh this is really exciting!! I really can't get enough of this little one. And every shade provides so much diversity. I don't know how I'll decide. I can't wait for my little YG AmonD boy to have a playmate.

 

Man, right when Fairyland is having an event! Will there be a flickr link again to let Haru know what we want? I wonder if the little chubby faced head (Hanni?) will be ready.

 

I'm really hoping they do have the elf version for sale as the character I'm planning for him is an elf.
And if they do, I will be incredibly happy that I had too many layaways to get him in the first pre-order.

 

Just received word that my Adori boy and girl face-ups are complete and they will be on their way home!!! Clothes, eyes and wigs are waiting, I'm really excited about these two.

I'm having trouble deciding on a color. Which color do you think is closest to Iplehouse real skin? If I go with tan instead of normal, I think I'd like to be close to my Iple girls.

 

phanuel, they are adorable! I love the whole look of them. And the hand blushing is top-rate! I never think to get my dolls' hands blushed, and it looks so nice when it's done.

Bluepita, can you ask Haru himself? Even when he doesn't know, he's really good at throwing the question out to his tumblr followers and they are remarkable at coming up with comparison photos.

I don't know about his followers on Instagram and Flickr, but maybe it's the same thing there.

Thanks, they're kind of named after my grandchildren, Alice and Leon. I already have dolls named Alice and Leon!! So I named these after their special animals.

Love your work! Have you finished your own Adori?

The body blushing is gorgeous! I usually don't send out bodies cause they're just too big, but with these little ones it was just as easy to send the whole doll as to send the head.

They are special! Hope you can get in on the pre-order.

 

Yep yep, I did do mine first because I wanted to take her with me to PNW BJD Expo last month, I just haven't really taken any good photos of her yet... I'll dig up something off Instagram quick, though, since I've not shown her here at all yet. :3

Thanks! She is...soft, milky, or light tan....I don't remember which off the top of my head as I bought her second hand.

On his Instagram page, Haru indicated that there will be 20 (twenty!!!) colors to choose from in the ordering period.

I almost hope that he was joking, but I suspect he wasn't. He's been showing pics of elf-Adori in new gray, lilac, and aqua colors. And I know he made at least one Adori in the last round for someone who wanted a color that hadn't initially been offered.

This could be bad news for me. I'm really bad about falling for a sculpt and buying (or pining over) it in multiple colors. I don't really need a squad of tiny Adorii in multiple colors!

Here are my two Adori.
On the left is Hyun Bin in moist beige, and on the right is Song Sung in moist chocolate.
Their wigs are Leekeworld 6/6.5, and I just got in a pair of eyes from Safrin that are perfect - 12mm small iris. (Though, you can't really see them. They're in SongSung on the right.)

It was a no go on the asking Haru which color is closest to Iplehouse srs. He hasn't seen it. If anyone here has an idea of which color matches best, I'd love to hear it. I'll just guess otherwise, lol. My two real skin girls aren't the same color anyway!

Bluepita, I'm sorry he didn't have an answer for you. That's disappointing. I'd kind of like to know, too, for future reference!

 

Forgot to mention, I'm using EyeCo Platinum Glass eyes in 11mm and I'm quite happy with them.
I like the wig I got for my boy, a Fatiao size 6-7. But the Adoris seem to have little faces and the wigs I've tried on my girl look a bit puffy. Even though they are all 6-7 some appear to be smaller than others. This is the fourth one I've used and I like it the best so far.

El BJD, I'm sorry, I keep forgetting to answer this. Haru's method of gathering orders is to announce the sale period, and then during those dates buyers send him a message via a post on Tumblr or Flickr (or presumably Instagram, but I don't know for sure) with the details of your order: body type, face type (or both) and resin type. Then he messages you back with the cost or questions.

Last time, he did put up a site with details of the combos that he was accepting orders for, but it was for information only - no way to submit orders there.

*rubs hands together* okie dokie, what skin would y'all recommend for a mixed descent Chinese kid? The character I'm planning has a Chinese father and an unknown-mixed mom.

 

Would depend whether the mom is lighter or darker than the dad, and then go from there. ^_^

 

Oh boy! I'm so excited! I've been waiting for this day. I don't know how to decide. Seriously....this sculpt is so joyful and sweet plus there's the whole elf component. Ugh!

All I can say is thank goodness the pre-order period is a bit long and it's not quantity limited.

 

Mom is a bit darker! I'm leaning Haru's Volks Normal as dad is very pale.
