Haru Casting Adori Discussion

I have a head in yellow-white coming to hopefully match a DZ B27-003-2 in white! I'll post comparison and fit pictures once I have them both.

I have an Adori who's the only boy in my all girls collection, he is getting very spoiled! He's a little adventurer and he often comes with me to the parcs and woods.

He is Volks normal skin and matches perfectly with his volks swarrico body.

 

Their Volks #2 is a good match for Crobidoll (I've been hybriding mine with an E-line Yeon-ho's body). Although it's also a good match for newer Volks ^^

 

My Adori is off getting a new faceup, but he's in their Peach Normal skin tone on a Pink Skin OnlyDoll body, which matches perfectly, in case anyone was wondering

 

I'm so glad Adori has his own thread now. My Adori is volks normal and on a littlefee body. It's not 100% match but not too bad.

Version 2 (V2) body has more movement in leg joints, while version 1 (V1) has simpler joints. Both genders are available as V1 or V2.

Adori is so cute! Mine is Volks normal #1 (old Volks) I have used 12 mm Glib acrylic eyes. They are not ideal. I think silicon eyes would look better.

I can help with the resin/body hybrid from post #1 @morganatron - my cream white Adori head is on a white skin Peakswoods body. The neck fit is perfect, and the head looks proportional on the body. The resin match is 90-95% (Peakswoods cream white is just a tiny bit pinker than Harucastings), but with a faceup you can't really tell that the body and head don't perfectly match.

This is 'Addie', my Harucasting Adori.

 

I'm glad to see this discussion and thanks for the information. I've really been smitten with these faces and am considering a preorder. I assume it takes a few months or more for the doll to be delivered, but would be worth the wait.

 

I don't have very many pictures of my Adori since I got his body shortly before we started packing for a move, but I can add to the resin match list! Impldoll Realskin (non-UV) matches Haru's Volks #2 Normal, which is the newer Volks Normal IIRC.

 

Agh I love the smiling Adori sculpt! I really want to get one on the V.2 boy body in Milky Chocolate I think, but I have to figure out if he fits into my dolly plans ATM :P I can't wait to see more Adoris as the company gets more popular!

 

This foll is so cute and the vitiligo tests are to die for I have been watching their work for awhile now!

 

Adori is freaking cute! I can't wait until I actually get to work on mine, stupid job keeps me too busy this time of the year.

That being said old customhouse bodies will not work without modding. The neck is entirely too big for Adori's neck hole. I'm going to be getting mine the type 2 body as soon as I confirm my funds... hopefully with a smiling Adori too. She needs a impish twin brother, I think.

 

They're one of the cutest tinies I've seen. The one thing holding me back from ordering is that there doesn't seem to be a way to order with a face up (unless I've misread?). But I'm still considering it because they're just that adorable.

 

Haru doesn't do their own face-ups. But I do know that if you want they are willing to send you Adori directly to your face-up artist.

I'm going to get 2 adori's sent to me (probably in march) and 1 is for someone else and is only coming to visit here for the face-up

 

how's the resin match with Soom's white skin?

I was originally going to put my Adori on a Soom Cream White body. The neck size and proportions were great, but the color was off. I have a body from the Feny/Necy original release, and I'd say it was around a 75 - 80% match. I found Soom's color to be a fair amount more yellowy than Harucasting's CW.

I can't speak for other Soom CW colors, and Soom is notorious for changing their colors from batch to batch. :/

 

Shouldn't you add this to the news area also, would help the company out? :-)

 

So I'm a little confused about something: Haru Casting labels some resin colours as "moist". Are these the translucent options?

 

From what I have seen on flickr they are slightly translucent. Just enough to give a less flat look and the softest sheen.

Man, I told myself I was never getting any more tinies, but Adori is seriously tempting me.

 

The smiling Adori has to be one of the absolute cutest heads out there.

 

Another question for anyone who already has an Adori head: It says 12mm eyes are recommended, but would standard 10mm eyes work for someone who wants a smaller iris look, or is there too much gapping?

 

@Galatea, I have 10mm eyes in my Adori. There is minimal gapping, and I found I liked them better than 12mm. You can see what they look like in my post here.

I've been wanting to add one YoSD doll as a friend to my Darak/DC Faust hybrid and Somid love to order Adori. But I can't find an order form on the Adori website or on Flickr. Can anyone help me out?

Also do you know if Haru offers layaway and were I can find a photo of the resin choices?

To order an Adori you need to reblog this post stating what you'd like to order and they will message you individually.
Haru is understandable worried about recasting as there was already comments made about people wanting to recast the sculpt when the initial contest was held, so they are controlling who gets the heads via direct contact ordering rather than through a form or a website.

From my understanding V1 is a single joined body and V2 is double jointed.

I usually give up buying anything doll-related during Lent, it's good for my soul and my pocketbook. But I just saw these guys today and sneaked in under the wire! Sigh. I had to make a quick decision but they're just too cute and unique to pass up. I also really wanted to try that moist skin.

well, i caved and ordered a moist chocolatte girl on v2 body with the regular head.
i vowed i would never have two dolls of the same sculpt, but theres just something about that little face that just so appeals ! yosd number 4 - hope there's room in the bed lol

samson, I have been hoping to see Adori in some of the darker skin tones. I am thrilled that you have ordered one in chocolate.

 

aw thanks - i had a hard job deciding which of the darker skin tones i wanted, it was a toss up between chocolatte, moist brown or black pearl.

I looked up the size I put in my Adori and I have 10/11mm soft acrylic eyes from Safrin and theres no gapping at all

I, too, have been researching the darker colors. I did think the Black Pearl would be darker, but it is pretty nonetheless. The Haru Flickr page shows the Black Pearl skin tone on both faces, but neither has a face-up. I downloaded one to play with in Photoshop, so perhaps I can give myself an idea of what different make-up styles would look like.

 

I just ordered my head, woo! I'm so excited. I've never owned a doll this tiny before but Adori's smiling head just stole my heart.

The dark skins are super pretty. I was going to order them in the one of the softer/medium tans, but I wanted to put them on a Littlefee body, so I ordered them in the normal peach so I could hopefully dye the body and head a similar color when they both get here. I'm already getting the dyes together for when I have both pieces.

Have they started sending out any of the dolls yet? I read around the end of the month, but they didn't give an exact date.

 

On their flickr they have said that the first dolls will be send this week. I have not heard any more info.

I tried to resist, I tried to resist, I really didn't want to order a doll that I couldn't get with a face up... and then I kept looking at pictures. So I've sent a message to a UK faceup artist whose work I've liked in other areas, and have reblogged to buy a regular head/v2 body in soft tan.

I couldn't help it - they're too adorable. It's a wonder I'm not getting one in every colour. (Ah, if I won the lottery...)

I'm trying to find a comparison of all the colors, but the only picture I found has different names from the price list names

I've had messages back from them to confirm which I want - now I'm waiting to hear back about payment. They didn't mention how much shipping was so have queried that - am assuming it's in addition to the price. I'm so excited - Adori is so cute, and every one I've seen so far has been so different looking - they seem to have real personality.

 

I was told that he wouldn't know shipping charges until everything was packaged.
We actually exchanged about half-a-dozen emails before I made my order to his satisfaction!

 

I think he'll be sending invoices for the shipping?

 

If you are doing layaway they will add the shipping cost to the final payment when the dolls are ready to ship out.Not sure how they gonna charge it if you paid in full.

 

I wasn't clear as to whether he would send a separate invoice for shipping fees, or just add it to the original PayPal charge. I've had companies add shipping to PP invoices after they were paid, but usually right away.

 

I've made full payment just now, he said EMS would charge when they were ready to ship.

Now to wait. Patiently. Now, where did I leave my patience?

I asked them the same (for a possible next time) as I'm in Italy and shipping is always high, they say they'll know when they'll ship


btw I sent them a mail to know all the colors, they linked me some flickr pictures but it's not easy to choose and to compare as they're not all in the same picture I know I'm asking too much, I'm a perfectionist, I need to know (and see) every single thing

 

Well, I couldn't quite swing getting smiling adori and a body for my girl Soyong. But at least I'll have her on her own body and hopefully there will be another order period so I can get her brother.

 

That was the problem I had. I could only get one, but I'd like the non-smiling head as well to swap out on the same doll. Hopefully this first pre-order goes well and they end up making more. I really like their bodies, but I guess I'll have to live with a secondhand one from a different company and cross my fingers waiting.

Yesterday I had no idea this doll existed, I was browsing flickr and saw him, love at first sight! the picture took me to their tumblr page, I used to had a tumblr but I cancelled it, well...yesterday I made another one so I could make my order. I placed it at the last minute so I thought they weren't going to accept it but they did!!

They told me that I would have the total tomorrow with EMS shipping included. I ordered Regular head in moist beige, boy body ver.2 and Smiling head in soft tan, same body. I wanted to get the two heads and just one body at first but knowing me, I can never have two heads sharing a body so I took the plunge and ordered two full dolls.

The heads are very different to what I have always seen in this size and I adore the fact that it was modelled after their son

I can't wait to see what I do with them as it was the most "impulse buy" purchase I have ever done. I literally saw the doll and in the next 10 minutes I was making my order. I have nothing prepared, no names, no characters or eyes/wig etc. but I feel very excited : )

I too wanted Adori for a long time, despite my decision to go for smaller dolls from now on. Just too cute to pass up. I took forever to decide on which heads, which skin tone etc. I ended up with the girl v2 body (looks like it poses very well!) in medium tan with both heads.

I'm so curious to see what medium tan looks like in real life. Harucasting said it was a unique combination of tan and violet.
