I was able to pick up my smiley girl today too! Haru really went overboard with the snackies this time. There was a whole box of cookies in there lol.

 

I'll hop on the bandwagon if we're showing off blank Geuru! She's such a cute sculpt

There wasn't really a "default" faceup....he asked me to go through the pictures of his dolls to choose what faceup I liked. It was an easy choice for me, because I've been in love with one of his girls since he introduced her. I'm sure others chose different faces. I'm thrilled with how she came out.

I'm thinking the purple wig will stay, but the bright green eyes are just a little too bright. I'll be going back through my eye box to find ones that suit her a little better.
Edit: found some that may work, so she's coming together.

Congrats everyone on their new cuties!
My Adori will be waiting for me in the UK next week as I'm going there for the weekend.....she's blank but her wig and eyes will be with her. I look forward to getting her face done when we get back to Spain, my friend Olga/Vainilladolly is going to be doing her for me I'm excited!!!

@clochette I do like that purple wig on your Geuru, 'fantasy' colours look so nice with the different tans, don't they!

 

They do, definitely. I have a couple of apricot colored wigs on tan dolls, and I love that look. This one is a soy fiber wig.

 

All the Geurus are so cute! The picture with the purple hair and green eyes reminds me of Mal from Disney's Descendants.

 

These dolls are obese! I have not met them in a while! They look like real children !!!! They are unstable

 

I may not be understanding what you mean by obese or unstable? My girl stands like a rock, she has a lot of stability. I also don't consider her obese, she's a similar size to several of my Yo sized kids from other companies. They're designed to look like Haru's actual children.

 

I think they meant chubby and mischevious or something similar. Lost in translation.

 

The girls got their faceups today! I tried to keep it simple so her thin eyes didn't get overpowered.

 

Very cute, and I love her outfit! What size eyes were you able to use for her? The eye openings are very small.

No worries, I understand. My Geuru is on the Nonni body, which is modeled after his daughter. It's a bit bigger/chubbier than the Adori body, which is more slender. We had the option of picking either body for our Geuru heads, but with her rounder face sculpt, the Nonni body just seemed to "fit" to me. She looks very lifelike.

I'm blown away at how well these dolls are engineered. They're a bit heavier than some of the more recent Yo size kids, but they are able to hold very lifelike poses and hold them well.

 

My geuru in nanni cream / nanni tan. She is still looking for a name.

Hana got a wig and outfit from Nine9Style today. They both look very cute on her. The wig is a 5-6 inch wig. It's a tight fit but I like the way it looks. I can't wait 'til Spring when she gets her faceup and will be 100% complete

Whilst waiting for my chosen artist to do my Adori's faceup, I have given her a temporary (and very basic) faceup myself, just so that I can photograph her. She also has a name, she will be known as Gala

I received my Adori from artist today. The face-up is so great! He is so cute in the plastic bag! Haha! BTW, his name is LeZhi 乐之which means “Happy From Him ” in chinese. Nice to meet ya~

Same for me. I actually really like Maji but when E Minor came on the scene she stole the show! I love her grumpy face.

Im thinking of getting a regular Geuru this time around. Maji is a bit out of my price range at the moment...
What eye sizes are yall using for Geuru? Will 14mm fit?

 

14mm is too large. I used 12mm with a 10mm iris. He recommends 10-12mm with no or low dome.

Maji's price point is higher than expected, so I will likely wait until the next ordering period and see if the owner pictures push me over the edge.

 

I’m in the same camp with the “waiting for e-minor” folks. Supposedly she will be offered late summer/early fall, according to what Haru said on Instagram the other day.

I really thought about finally buying that second Adori that I promised myself last year, but I think I’m just gonna enjoy the one I have right now. Maybe I’ll feel differently in the next ordering period. Meanwhile, I can’t wait to see all of the new Adori, Nanni, and Geuru dolls all of you get!

Edited to add: as far as eyes for my Adori and Nanni, I’ve had the best luck with 10 mm low dome eyes. That low dome is more important than I realized at first - even Haru commented on the gappiness of the first pair of eyes (regular dome) I put into Adori.

 

I have used 14mm, 12mm, and 10mm. The 14's I'm using now are oscar doll eyes and I like how they look. Also Makoeyes in 12mm have a smaller iris than other types of eyes so you may like that size a little better. Like clochette mentioned the lower the dome the better because her eye wells are very flat.

Well, I was just planning on a Maji but at the last minute Adori called out to me and told me her name so I had to order one in milky tan! I hope she is the Yosd who finally 'clicks' cause I love her face

Reviving this thing to see if anyone else is making plans for their new cuties? I've decided my little one is named Alice, and she'll have amber eyes and chocolate-colored hair. Slowly but surely putting together a set of real-kid simple country/mori type dresses too. My girl has a big sister, so I'm thinking she steals shirts too. XD

Im 90% sure my Geuru will be named Lesedi. It means "light" in Sesotho. She is meant to be paired with my IslandDoll dove, Naledi, so she will probably wear mostly whites. Havent decided if she should have a wig yet, she might look good without one since she's ebony
