Hi everyone! New project journal! I own some of Otherside dolls since many years. The first was a Dione (her project journal is here), second a Kobalt that I sold like 4 years ago, then an Oddity (I took 9 years before painting his faceup, shame on me), an Hybris three years ago and this year her last model, mémé Biquette. I think I will put both Hybris, Oddity and Mémé Biquette on this thread. After all, they are all in my steampunk-fantasy universe. Hybris is a faun, I called mine Ntaba ("goat" in lingala). Here is a pic by Otherside of a nude Hybris: I initially wanted mine to be a teenager in my steampunk world but styled like if he was living in a city. I wanted to sew him an overwall, a newsboy cap, things like this. But he decided otherwise. I was smarter with him than with other of my dolls and started with wig making. I sometimes do the faceup before but then I usually damage it when making the wig ^^' Here is his wig in progress (only missing beads and colored threads): You can see that his head is huge. He fits nicely on this SD bust (he is MSD sized on his own body). After the wig I did the faceup. Here is it in progress: You can see I already sliped from my initial idea. That's not very modern, lol. (my steampunk crew lives in around 1850). After (months after) the faceup, I started a first outfit. It's a hodgepodge of reused pieces of fabrics, sewed with no premade patterns (and no patterns at all to say the truth). I began with the bottom: The wig was still not adorned ^^'. But here is the first outfit completed, and the wig is (nearly) finished too! I'm hesitating to add more beads and so on on the wig. He still needs body blushing (especially on paws) and I wish to sew him more outfits ^_^ Thank you for looking!
gorgeous. as always, it is the texture of your work that delights me - beads and ribbons and different fabrics, so the doll is a visual joy and has such personality to go with your lovely face ups.
I love how he's coming together. He was a bit eerie to me in the nude and blank very much a little monster-creature, but he is so charming in his outfit with all your work already completed. He seems to be such a friendly character! I hope that's true or he is a trickster and I would be tricked by him! The hair suits him so well. I love the layers around his face. It seems like he would really need a custom made wig and you do a great job.
He looks absolutely gorgeous! His skin is so textured and realistic, I can’t believe it and the wig is beautiful!
Double knee joints... and that mouth! I am adoring this sculpt- even nekid (naked)! Thanks for introducing me to this company- neat stuff! And as ever, love your artistry!
Thank you very much! I try to add more texture in my sewing now. In the past I didn't played a lot on textures (or it was not noticeable). Thanks a lot, AlisonVondeland! Yeah he is quite strange when nude, but he has such a sweet face it would be a shame not to managed to soften his look with wig and so on. He is one of the seldom kind creatures in my steampunk universe. Thank you very much! ♥ Thank you! Thank you so much! He has only simple joints, I fear. And he can't take a lot of poses, halas. But I like his cute face so I like him nonetheless XD Thank you so much for your kind comment and compliments! Today I introduce Leopoldine, my granny goat (also by Otherside). I only have made her wig yet, but I'm already in love. First pic is a nude meme Biquette (aka granny goat) taken by the maker: And I took only one quick picture of mine with the wig I crafted: I'd like to paint her faceup asap but I'm not sure I'll find the time in 2025 ^^'
Oh my gosh, goat granny is very charming and cute Her wig looks awesome. I'm sure she is going to be really cool when you've got her painted and dressed! Plenty of time in the new year for projects.
Thank you @jelliemouse ! I'm really glad of how this wig turned ^^ @AlisonVonderland Thanks a lot! I'm trying to make her as sinister as my Dione is cute. I begin her faceup with the new year, here is the begining! I hope I can continue her soon enough (maybe next weekend?).
I completed Léopoldine's faceup! Here is she: Now I need to think about an outfit, and after, one day, about her body blush and tattoos.
