Granado's Vindolls (Vinyl) - Thread 2

Jul 29, 2017

    1. Andrew is an amazing sculpt. Well... vindoll package is not squishy at all but very firm. I remember Granado saying the way to get rid of the package was cutting it with scissors LOL

Congrats on your second Enoch. I understand falling in love with a sculpt and getting it more that once. I have two Dollfie Dream dynamite Towas and I considered getting a third on at some point. I cannot wait to see what you do with your second Enoch your first one is to die for.

I totally Agree with Raguel in Tan skin. He is the only sculpt that I really want missing for my collection. I consider getting the resin head last time it was out, but I'm not really into resin dolls anymore. I only have my resin Iplehouse FID Claude and that's enough for me.

Here is my Javi saying hello :)

    2. Hello,
I recently got a Granado Vindoll Enoch secondhand, I was told he was going to have a few stains. I was okay with that since I’ve seen group forums suggesting there are ways to destain vinyl dolls.
I’m currently trying 10% Benzol Peroxide Gel on the specific stains.
I woke up today to see the gel dried up, and the stains are still visible. His vinyl is hard when it gets cold which is currently how my room is most of the time, but with a little heat it will get softer so I’m afraid it can discolor if I leave for too long. I have a heater in my room, but I set it to low so I don’t know if this can affect the gel to react negatively to the destaining process in general.
Would you guys recommend Volks Dream Rescue Cream to try on Vindoll, should I wrap it in plastic wrap? I’ve seen videos but only for Dollie Dream.
I’ve already tried Magic Eraser Dry and Wet first before I applied the gel and to no avail.
      Please help, with any suggestions.
      Thanks

    3. maybe try oxyclean? i have seen some one destine a doll that way. Vinyl is very hard to get stains out

    4. Do you know want type specifically there are a lot of oxyclean products?

    5. I'm not sure how helpful my experience it's going to be, because I do own various types of vinyl, including an old Volks DDI, which had the soft vinyl bust piece. However, I've never had vinyl stained, so I've never done it on vinyl -- the stain removal process, that is. I've only ever tried it on a Phicen/TBleague 1:6 female silicone body, which is a very pale shade of "white," and had accidental black stains from the hemming on a black top I didn't pre-washed. I used the Oxy-10 cream (the one meant for acne, if anyone doesn't know what it is). I had to apply and re-apply quite a few times, and probably took about five to six days to get all the staining removed, from the various places where the black top left stains (anywhere there was a hem, basically). It went a lot faster the last few days, because I used a UV light pen for a few seconds after I reapplied the cream, then left it to dry for a whole day and reapplied again the next day as needed. It would have probably gone faster if I had thought about using the UV light pen sooner, but I only thought about it some days into the process. I had read that people usually leave the stained dolls/toys in the sun so that the UV rays accelerate the process, but I'm not a fan of leaving my toys out in the wild, so I used the UV light pen instead. Hope that helps. (:

    6. I've just seen the last time I posted in this thread... 29 March 2019. One year ago today! :aeyepop: I have a lot of catching-up to do. :sweat But, all the photos I've missed are looking great!

My guys, Leon and Dante [that Enoch I had on layaway in my last update], are slowly starting to come together. Leon is still clearly the 'favoured son' - he's presently standing on-duty on my small crafting table that I've neglected to put away after my latest sewing project. I sure am glad I have him in this virus outbreak! Though, it's a little calmer than his usual conflicts...

One thing that I've been having trouble with; shoes and boots. I'm looking for a combat boot style for Leon, as he can't really go BOW-hunting in his crisp red baseball shoes. Sartoria J don't do that style, the closest are the monkey boots in reddish-brown [but Leon needs black], and Iplehouse wants $30 in postage [almost the price of the boots]. Are there any other suppliers of shoes and boots big enough for these guys that have combat boots [or just lace-up boots that can pass as combat footwear] with a "reasonable" shipping fee?

Also, jumping on the We-Demand-Raguel train and loving Gabriel. I'm wishing I had gone for him. I mean, I still could, but I'm eyeing Charles while wishing for a Raguel. :eusa_pray

    10. Do you think if I email Granado, and ask them if they can send me one of their new boxes to store my Enoch, I got one of the first editions secondhand, when they were still in the plastic boxes, but the plastic box is ruined and I can’t store him properly. Let me know?

    11. The cost would be terribly high just for shipping a box that size, even empty, but there is a good chance they might not do it. If you are serious why not put a want to buy in the MP - Props & Miscellany for one Granado box in the US.

    12. I think I will, they denied my request though.

    13. The Vindolls are still sent in the see though plastic boxes fyi.

I ordered my second Enoch 16th of Feb, he was sent out on the 25th of March and arrived on the 30th exactly when he was expected to be delivered. But yeah he came in the exact same packaging as my Vindoll from 2018, so just thought I should let you know that.

But I would definitely second looking for one on the marketplace if you want some Granado packaging for him. Good luck! I have no idea about the staining either, both my Vindolls have been safe from it so far but I hope you find a good solution soon!

    14. He was stained from the previous owner, the stains still don’t come out. So I’m thinking of trying the Dream Rescue Cream from Volks, any good reviews, I don’t have a good lamp so I’m being patient with the process by itself.
Currently using Benzol Peroxide Gel 10%

    15. Hello,
      I have a question,
I don’t know how old is my Vindoll, since I got him secondhand. My question is are his legs suppose to be wobbly, he can’t stand on his own? His hands can hold their pose but his legs keep being wobbly I raise his leg up and just slides right down. Help.

    16. What you can do is pull the pin out of the joint and coat is with super glue and add some baking soda it will make the pin larger then once dry and test the fit, if it is too big, sand it a bit at a time with course sand paper trying the fit until it is hard to push in but does go in. That should make more friction for the joint to hold the leg up.

      • x 1
    17. Enoch was release around June 2018. I have never had any problems with his joints or legs been loose :)

On the other hand my Quetzalcoatl (Udell) is one of the first batches. I got him back in 2017 and his joints still very stiff. He still hold all his poses. At the beginning some owners were not very happy with the stiff and squeaky joints so they sand the joints a little or put some oil in them to soften the joints. Maybe that was the previous Enoch owner did. But also I don't pose my doll that much so his joints still basically as new. But I have five full Vindolls and all of them still hold their poses :) Have you tried pressing the legs from each side. Because my Udell leg joints sometimes get loose when I pose him to much. Sometimes that's all you need because they can become a little loose from time to time. I do make sure my Udell joints are tight by pressing them once in a while. The other Vindolls don't have this problem. Only my Udell I always thought granado fixed this problem with the other bodies. But may be I was wrong :)

    18. Leon, my Pancho, has a problem with his right leg from time to time that just requires it being pushed back into place. If it becomes a nuisance, I might look into doing something of a permanent fix like that which @SteamWitch suggests.

Also, @SteamWitch, I saw a few pages back that one of your guys has a shotgun-shaped lighter for a prop, which looks pretty good in terms of proportions to him. Do you have the measurements for it, as I'd love to acquire something similar for Leon at some point in the future (and would like to know what type of size to be on the look-out for)?

    19. I did press on his legs but nothing happened, they’re still very loose, I got in contact with the previous owner and they told me that he was one of the early batches when he was released. So that could be it, he can’t even sit correctly because his pelvis where his joints are not keeping his torso to stay in place and just falls on its back.

    20. It is a butane lighter, like the fishing pole version. I found the big weapon at Academy and the double barrel shotgun at a big hardware store. They are 15 inches long. Here is Waya with both guns.

    22. Does anyone else have this problem? I took my new Enoch's head off to swap the head over to my V0-7 cause I would really love to see him on a body finally since I've just ordered him a new wig and I discovered a problem.

Both my original older Enoch and my V0-7 heads have tiny neck holes and I cannot for the life of me get their frigging heads onto their bodies, but my newest Enoch has a much wider neck hole and is ridiculously easy to both attach and remove from the body. I've watched the Granado vid again and I swear the head they are putting on looks so much easier and wider than my boys neck holes. For the life of my I can't attach my two boys heads to their bodies and I'm gutted! I'll try again tomorrow maybe.

    23. All my vindoll head holes are very small. What I do first I heat water on a cup in a microwave. It needs to be very hot. Second I get a cotton swab (Q-tip) and wet one of the cotton ends in the hot water. Third I pass the hot wet end of the cotton swap on the hole of the head. This made the hole in the head soft. Fourth I hold the neck very strong with my hand then press the head on the neck joint until the neck joint it is able to slide through the head hole very easy.

I hope what I'm saying it makes sense. I do this with all my heads when I want to change it on different bodies and it works every time :)

    24. Thank you! This is the first time I've tried to remove or replace one of my Vindoll heads and I was super surprised by how hard it is especially cause I removed my newest Enoch head and the hole looked so much different to the other two guys and was so much easier to remove than my first Enoch head.

Ergh anywho, I'm gonna go try this I think, appreciate the help and advice! I really need happy things to concentrate on right now and I wanna do something with Matthias finally so here goes!

EDIT! Ahhhhhhh you wonderful lifesaver you! That worked perfectly! I thought it wasn't but it did and his head is finally securely on! I am now terrified cause of his faceup to remove his head but hey he's together finally and I am so happy and grateful right now! :D

    27. Another point to vinyl boys tonight!

As much as I despise Leon when his leg falls off, I know it just requires a bit of a push back into the socket. None of the pains of restringing to deal with for a day afterwards...

    28. So what is the wait time for these dolls looking like? (asking for a friend) (the friend is actually me)

    29. My first one was 20 days. My most recent one who arrived only about two weeks ago, took just a bit over a month.

So yeah pretty damn quick cause they are already made so mostly just have to be sent really. XD Hope that helps!

    30. Oh it does help. . . my wallet is cowering in fear now.

Edit: Also, question about the extra hands. . . has anyone gotten them and what are they like?

    31. I am waiting on the two sets of hands (and the resin jointed hands). I got an email asking to confirm my address but they haven't sent an email with tracking number nor has the status of my order changed. :pout:

    32. My first 4 Vindolls ship within a month. The last one it took almost 2 months but he is the only one I order with a face up the other four were blank :)

    33. Just put a blank Andrew (in NS with both sets of extra hands) on layaway with BJDivas. I'll probably pay him off the rest of the way early this coming month, but I wanted the layaway just in case something weird happens with work since there's a pandemic right now >__>.
I am gonna have to do ALL the sewing when he gets here, cause he's gonna be extra naked lol, but at least that should get me back into sewing something other than masks.

Edit: I ordered some pants and a shirt for him from SartoriaJ on Etsy. . . which hopefully will actually work. The payment got flagged by paypal and held because the pants title says Cuba lol >__<.
Edit Edit: First payment is officially made. I'll be paying the rest after BJDivas gets back to me. The payment stuff I ordered from SartoriaJ went through after a day or so, so yay, and they were very nice (the shop) when I told them the situation. So now. . I just have to get some accessories for him (he's gonna be an artist) and some eyes. I'll likely get Soul in a box eyes cause those are SO pretty. Not sure what I want to do about hair just yet though. . .
What size wigs do these fellows wear in case I don't want to make one?

    34. Super late, but congrats on your order! I hope he may actually be with you soon!

As for wig size, all 3 of my boys take 7-8 size wigs. I would maybe an 8 would be slightly better, but the ones I have are all 7-8 and fit just right, they don't slide off or need anything to hold them on or anything. Hope that helps!

Also speaking of wigs for these guys, Matthias got two new wigs that arrived today finally and this is him in one of them. He needs a darker one with some grey streaks preferably and some piratey adoranments to go in it as well but this one is so soft and pretty, I love the waves in it, it's so nice! So for now it stays. And the colour is gorgeous! Ahhhh!

    37. Thank you so much, @ArcaneDesires ! And I am eternally jealous of your handsome handsome boy.
Hopefully it doesn't take tooooo much longer for my guy to ship out. I got him blank, so hopefully that'll help it all. My Dollshe lady is gonna steal all his clothes if he doesn't get here soon! She's already sitting there wearing his shirt, and she's tried on his pants too (they fit lol).

    38. It's not gonna be the full pirate set, I have seen it though and it's gorgeous! but there's some clothing I'm ordering from SartoriaJ yeah. I've been through that site so many times. There's some parts of that set that just aren't what I want for him. But thank you! I will be getting him that white top and similar pants though for now. Can't wait!

Thank you! I show him more and more everyday. I really do love him so much. Can't wait to finish him off. He's gonna be so different to all my other dolls I can't wait!

That's awesome though that she can still his clothes. Lol None of my dolls can share anything with my Vindoll guys. Everything is either way too small or too big. If it weren't for SartioriaJ I would be stuffed with clothing for them. Although I've found a few other places that fit which is cool or well I know of one anyway. XD

    39. I've been trying to find clothing recommendations for the Evol body in hopes it will translate to fit my Vindoll, but i'm struggling to find anything recent. Does anyone have any recommendations or links to threads that cover what fits the resin version?

    40. Haneino Tsukiko, I have all my stuff from SartoriaJ. They had line for Evol/Vindoll, in their store it was declared as for Granado boys. Also, almost year ago they sell via Granado, but this co-op ended. SartoriaJ web store still has line for Granado, check SD outfit (Granado). OUTFIT - GRANADO
Boots from SartoriaJ and Alibaba, just be careful and check more than 10 cm inner size.

      • x 1
    41. The Resin version is larger and taller than the Vindoll version so clothes made specifically for the Resin version likely won't fit the Vindoll version perfectly. I have a pair of jeans made for a Luts Super Senior Delf doll that fit my Vindoll boys perfectly if that's any help though.

Resin 70cm vs Vindoll 66.5cm for height and the waist is 25.3 vs 22.5cm which isn't all that much granted, but pants will likely be loose around the waist for the Vindoll boys if they fit the Resin version. The SartoriaJ version is made specifically for the Vindoll line if I remember correctly so some things may be too small for the Evol's larger and taller body. But I couldn't say for sure.

Can anyone confirm if they can share clothes between the two and I'm wrong? I wanna get an Evol some day so I'm curious myself.

    42. Thank you! I'll check them out.

Ah damn. In that case, what has everyone found to be compatible with vindoll?

    43. Pretty much all I have is some stuff that was made by a friend and just happens to fit, stretchy 70cm tops will fit these guys but it's hard to say for sure what will and won't fit unless you try it.

SartoriaJ is where I get most of my stuff for my 3 boys. So yeah as mentioned before there's them.

And the pants I got from M3 Studio made for a Luts SSDF as I say for my boy perfectly. So those are an option.

Saphar BJD over on insta has two of these guys and makes custom clothing so that's also an option.

And sadly that's all I have for now. My guys don't really have much clothing just yet. I'm still working on their wardrobes.

I love them but the problem with these guys is that they are too big for a lot of 70cm clothes but too small for say Iplehouse sized stuff. My EID and SID male clothing is too large, my stuff that fits my Ringdoll and Popodoll boys is too small. Except for the jeans I've mentioned above.

Sorry that's not much help but hopefully it's a start for now!

    44. Thank you! I've been afraid to order clothes for him and couldn't find anything solid on it. I'll check out the places you've mentioned I really appreciate the help! :)

Edit to add: My order from AC came in! The 70cm jeans I picked up fit just barely. they zip and button with a bit of a struggle. There is no hiding his bulge though. I ordered his shirt in 70cm as well. it's got a good bit of stretch to it.

    45. @Haneino Tsukiko Congrats!!! He is looking good. My guys wear sd17 shirts that were made by a friend of mine. They were made for her 65-70 resin boys and she gave me a few. The pants I bought on Etsy but the store close. I think it got in trouble or something. It took them more than two months to shipped the pants so...

This Etsy store is awesome the jeans are great quality the first jeans I got for my first vindoll where from this store. The jeans are Iplehouse SID size and they fit perfectly. Here is the link Cool jeans and casual clothes for your BJDs by JeansByJenna

But I haven't bought anything for them since then. They don't even have shoes sorry I cannot help.

    46. Well. Still no word on what's become of my Andrew. I asked about a month ago, and BJDivas said they'd look into it. . then nothing. They're pretty busy and all, what with being extra short staffed and stuff, so I guess they maybe forgot? Still. I would really like to know what's going on there. It's been at least 50 business days. -siiiigh-

    47. TatterPunk sorry to read this. But I had issue during delivery back in 2018. Dont know your location, but my was Europe and my country was(is??) not at their list so they made deal with external company and long story short package was lost during trip to Europe via agent. I had tracking number and everything, but package was not delivered at delivering company depot. Granado send me new doll and they also refund my money for delivery. I was in contact with Ikaru, he was very polite and helpful. So best is contact them. Wish you luck.

    48. I ordered through BJDivas (they and I are all USA based), so unfortunately I can't contact Granado directly about my order. I just have to hope that they get my message and contact them for me. It's possible of course that the package had to get sent ground/sea or something (which could take months), however I won't know until I hear from the dealer. I'm kinda getting a little less enamored of the idea of a vinyl doll the more time goes by, so I hope he gets here soon. Part of the big selling point for me was how fast they usually ship.

    49. Yes, I understand. My package traveled by sea, because tracking order for delivery was valid from Hamburg port depo. But everybody in DHL was very helpful and problem was solved. But if your package was sent by ship during COVID .... you need to be very patient. For me it was almost month. new one (replacement) from Granado was shipped air-mail during 5 days, custom control incl. but they sent package to special inspection, it was declared DOLL and for children dolls we have special regulations in EU. So this was another story to declare them it is special sort of doll. Oh my.

    50. I get that. Shipping has been slowed drastically all around. I've had packages from Russia that have taken 4 months to get here. The main issue here is the fact that I know nothing of what is actually happening. I'd be fine with waiting if I knew it were a shipping issue or a manufacturing issue . . or anything. . but the unknown is what worries me. And the fact that the longer I wait the more I am concerned he won't look good with ANY of my dolls due to his small head size.

    51. I want to get a Vindoll but I think I want the tan skin. Do you know if they will release tan skin again?

    52. @jwsmith They make the vinyl dolls in batches, so they may make some more in the future.

    53. How dark is the bronze? Is it really dark?

    54. No, not hugely dark, It's a wonderful dark caramel kind of colour I'd say. If you look through a few pages of this thread, myself and a few others have multiple dolls in the bronze tone and you can see what it looks like and judge for yourself if it's too dark. It's really beautiful. I hope to get many more to be honest. Gorgeous colour!

    55. My Pale tan Dollshe Orijean closely matches the Bronze vindoll.

    56. It is not very dark, but a beautiful dark, reddish, brown.
