Granado Tiny Doll Discussion

She looks so cute so far! I was considering her but I am still paying off my Napoleon so I should probably stay my wicked hand haha. I love her bust options though! I hope Granado starts making clothes for these dolls... Especially shoes. I can't imagine her feet will fit existing sizes considering that they'll scale to all the options... The boys are hard enough to fit as it is!

 

Beautiful new girl body. Thankfully, I don’t need one. I bet all done up, she’s gorgeous.

I am getting excited about my own Napoleon coming, soon, I hope! I’m planning on making a yarn wig for my guy and still mulling over clothing ideas. Come on, hurry home soon!

 

I'm going to get the small body to go with Lucifier, but I'm also considering the SD size too... But I'm kind of hesitant without sizes first as I'd want to hybrid the body.

No, no re release for me as I’m still waiting on my Napoleon. But, the new colors are really neat. Black is so rare, I hope someone might get one!

 

I just got a package but I'm at work so my mom signed for it. Wondering if its Napoleon? When I check the site it still says preparing and I never got any kind of notice, but I also haven't ordered anything else that would be coming from that part of the world??? So now I guess I just have to wait 2.5 hours until I get home and find out if it's somehow him or not. Will update once I find out lol

 

Napoleon is here! There was no indication at all that he shipped, but he's here nonetheless and I'm pretty dang excited about it. I'll try and get some picture of him at some point, but its gonna be a busy weekend so it may be a while

 

Am I correct in thinking that a 'VIP' is just someone who's ordered a doll from them before? That seems to be what their website says, but I'm not just one hundred percent sure.

 

Congratulations @seasonweather! How exciting! But, at the same time a little troubling, just because of no shipping notice. Makes me wonder if mine has been shipped or not? Mine was normal skin, blank. Actually I prefer not being able to track the package excessively and agonize over delays. But part of me wants to know too. Oh well, he’ll get here someday. Have fun enjoying your guy! Pictures, please!

 

@kurogane mine was also normal skin blank, I dont know what the deal is with the lack of notice though. Not sure when I'll be on the computer to post pictures, but hopefully soon! He has nothing but eyes and some random ken pants at the moment though lol

 

!! Oh that's so exciting @seasonweather! I too am waiting on my Napoleon, I'm happy to hear they've at least STARTED shipping. Though a notice would be nice... especially given my apartment complex's kind of unique relationship with the postal service at the moment. Hmm.

Oh NO, I just found these! And wouldn't you know it, they're sold out. D: They're perfect for a tiny guy for my tiny gal, so I'm hoping maybe I can catch the next preorder. I can't believe how well they pose to be so small.

 

What is the new system?

 

Are regular clothes and shoes for 1/6 scale action figures fitting these guys properly?

My Napoleon arrived today! I haven’t had a chance to un box him yet, the agony. Soon, or later this evening.

I didn’t get any shipping notice either. And all I have are eyes as I’m going to make his wig and outfit. Just add that to the project list, right along with the dollhouse I’m building at the moment.

 

I was able to open up my guy this morning! Oh, wowza, he’s awesome! I’m so glad I got him, I guessed words fail me? The best looking and poseing bjd I’ve ever had. His name is Shiro and I plan on making a black and white wig. The head cap is so tiny, I haven’t put in any eyes yet. I just want to carry him around with me, lol. Obviously fan girling overmuch.

 

I guess I need to be sure and check my mail, then. I was just about to come and ask if anyone had heard anything yet! Now I'm excited!

 

Ahhh!!! I'm so excited! Weird that nobody is getting shipping notices but I guess that makes it a fun surprise?? Haha! Thanks for the tip about the eyes @SteamWitch--I was going to use the extra pair of eyes I have from the set I bought for Dante (my Lucifer), but if Napoleon's eyes are even smaller I guess I'm hitting Shrike up!

 

I was able to spend some time with my Napoleon yesterday and put in his eyes. I have a 6mm pair and a 4mm pair of Dreamingtree Studio eyes. The 4mm pair look better, but just barely fit. I spent 45 minutes putting in those eyes as I didn’t want to remove his head! Plus my favorite eye putty (the blue kind) showed up as blue eyeshadow, so I had to use some white eye putty that is too soft and sticky so it wouldn’t show through the resin around the eyes. The eyes are a nice bright blue and the pupils show up really well. Now to make the hard wig cap and clothes. It will have to be something special as this guy has high expectations.

 

Ah, man. I bought a tiny Lucifer because I wanted to help make this size happen, and I like him fine, but I'm coming to the conclusion that I like Napoleon more - and I also like the faceups that Granado is offering for them now! I'm starting to think about buying a Napoleon with my so-called 'VIP' status and then making a decision about whether to keep one or both once he's here. Decisions, decisions.

 

I checked the mail yesterday and had a notice to pick my guy up. That was fast. In any case his bald, eyeless self is hanging with me at work today.





His head is smaller than my finger. That is gonna be a challenge to do a good faceup!

 

I’ve been making yarn wig wefts. Napoleon’s Head is so small! I think I have enough, time to make the wig cap. I’m still deciding on a hair style.

 

I'm so sad! I have been checking Informed Delivery (USPS service that's SUPPOSED to tell you when you have mail coming), only to go to clear out my mail box last night to find I missed a package on TUESDAY! It's from China so I'm assuming that was my boy... Sigh!! Nothing on ID, so I guess it's not reliable for packages from overseas...? Soon I'll have him and can post pictures... soon...

 

I picked my boy up yesterday!! He's so beautiful... I'm so in love. Has anyone else had trouble with the new "extra parts" system, though? I honestly just leave them in the box but I was trying to see how they looked and I couldn't get them on...? The peg seems super ultra snug. Is there a trick to it, or is the trick "heat the resin a little"...?

Welp, I took the plunge on a tan 31cm Napoleon with in-house faceup. Mature tinies are my Kryptonite.

That’s nice they redesigned the bits system, I don’t fuss with Lucifer’s they’re just a hassle. But!!! I’m super jealous that the girl got a ton of hand options! I would have picked that over a spare bits in a second. Want fists! Want grip hands for swords!

 

Yeah, I got my shipping notice last night too.

I’m hoping I can start on the wig cap today. That’s the easy part, as trimming and styling is not my thing.

I finished a faceup for my Napoleon! These eyes don't fit the character, but they look pretty good in the head! They're from Dreamingtree. The wig is also temporary and borrowed... I really need to dye some more fiber so I can make him his own!




Napoleon is so beautiful... Such a joy to paint! Even if he is even more nerve wrackingly tiny than even Lucifer...

 

@Idoru oh, your guy is looking gorgeous! Yes, Napoleon is a beautiful sculpt. The wig you have is what I’m aiming for, but black with a white streak. The face up you did is fabulous!

I had someone ask me about this in my box opening, so I figured I'd share: in those pics he's wearing pants that I originally bought for a Xagadoll Ken from this Taobao store. I tried the top I also bought from this store in that size (Xaga Uncle) and it does NOT fit. The FR size should; I'm going to order some more stuff from them in the future to find out but the other FR size shirt (from a different seller) I have fits Granado 31.5cm boys.

And I'm glad the link helps!! I should have shared it before, but I haven't tried much stuff from it yet so I keep forgetting, haha... You can order from Taobao shops using a proxy (I use Yoybuy but they're all basically fine I think). I will note that it'll take a bit for your stuff to get to you, probably (it's all made-to-order I believe), but it's worth the wait. They're really nicely made, and I was even able to ask (through the agent staff) about fit and measurements. I found them because they're one of the only shops that does stuff specifically for both sizes of the Xagadoll boys, Xaga lists them on their Taobao! I was really surprised these pants fit once I got the cuffs over the heels, but pleasantly so. If anyone tries any of the other sizes of tops, please report back!! I'm not 100% positive the FR tops will fit, it's my educated guess from trying everything I currently own on my Lucifer. :p

Speaking of, here's another Taobao shop! Aforementioned source of FR homme-sized tops (and pants): Apple Baby.

 

Today I finally got to work on the yarn wig (working on a dollhouse too, staining wood strips for the flooring, what a chore). I thought I had made plenty of wefts, but nope. My guy looks like he is going bald. Back to making more wefts. His head is tiny, but not when making yarn wefts I guess.

 

Everyone's Napoleons look so good! I've done a faceup (I need to take a pic!) He's got some clothes. Shoes I'm having trouble with. I got the low top Chuck Taylors that someone had posted upthread. They fit but stretch so much that to me the tounge of the shoe looks odd. I've made some faux socks that cover up the gap and I can live with that. I got some FR Homme sized shoes that in theory should have fit but in reality are a no go. And my third and stupidest mistake was buying some Phicen combat boots WITH FEET IN THEM. I don't know how I missed that on the auction. It was all over it. I was able to extract the feet and make the boots wearable.
Tonight when I have a minute I'm gonna try some YOSD shoes on him and see how far off they are. I'm afraid they're gonna look ridiculously huge, though.
