Granado Dolls Waiting Room v4!

My big package seems to have been in the US and transferred into US system a couple of days ago without showing an update in location. It still says likely delivery on or before tomorrow (Thursday.) Boy, have I been spoiled by the USPS multiple scans a day! So...I'm parked by the front door, making moccasins...hmmm...occurs to me I also have to more wigs to make! ARGH! I do have their arrival modesty robes done (my apologies to those getting spammed with this image...)

 

The crew has arrived! Marvelous packaging.


The big guys are Noah on a 70 Adagio and 74 Vigor, the little guys are Shadow on Vigor, Galileo on Zen, Ninth on female Embody, and Lucifer on Adagio. I ordered April 4th, but it had to wait to be processed for the 70Adagio. It was shipped on Sept 2 and arrived today.

Thanks! first dolls I've ordered in nine years! Add Pookii, Morgaine and Vanye to these and you've got my whole crew. And with one more, the little Ascent, that's probably all I'll ever get. These will keep me busy for YEARS!

I just finished the last book in the series they're from and figured I deserved a present!

 

My Little Ascent is showing "awaiting shipment." That sounds like a pretty good sign.

 

I ordered Adagio70 on 11/3. So now my watch begins. So how long do you all usually wait for your orders?

@ZaidaBoBaida: Maybe about three months? I ordered some busts on August 8 that arrived about a week ago and I ordered the 31Ascent mentioned above on August 25th. Don't know how much the holiday season impacts production.

 

Okay...I officially wish I hadn't noticed that my Mini Stephen body and Mini Wesley head is "awaiting shipment." Does anyone else find themselves going up to the Granado site twice a day to check the status? This is silly! I've always just taken it as "oh, goodie! it's arriving tomorrow!" when the USPS update text arrives. I try to be zen about these things, but it's definitely not working this time! And it's not as if I don't have other things to do resin-wise in the meantime....

Well....Once in the AM when I sit down to write and once in the evening, when I sit down to play games. Anything else is an accidental twitch of the finger. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

 

sigh. Ordered a blank head but through LegendDoll, because they seem to have some deal where they can get things from Granado that may not otherwise be offered... but that was August. I wish I knew when I'd see a shipping notice.

 

I ordered in August, and it's now been "awaiting shipment" for about two weeks. I asked them when that was likely to ship and they said it would be shipping in December. Kinda figured that. Was hoping for a bit more exact date.

It's been 70 business days since my payment for the tiny guys today and there's silence from Granado. I'm getting anxious 'cause my hopes to get the dolls before new year are sinking lower and lower. I guess it's time to contact the company


UPD Well, they gave me standard "this month". Considering today being Dec 11, I really doubt that I'll get the boys before NY.

 

Any know what the current wait time is? At least roughly?

 

I just ordered one of the 15Lucent holiday specials. Normal skin, with open eyes. Looks like a longer wait, 6 months or so. Well, ok, the tiny guy was too good to pass up.

 

I just did the same. I have wanted a mature tiny like him since I got into the hobby. Mine is in windfresh skin. Said five months at the bottom of the page. I'll just estimate 6 months to be safe. I'll either be right, or happily surprised lol.

Agreed! he is just... I love him so much. I hate how most mature tinies are little goblins or pixies or super stylized. Why are tiny normal but gorgeous humans so hard to find?

 

I ordered me a little 15Lucent, going to make his character a creepy living doll so he will technically then be in scale with any and all my other dolls. I might even try and paint his face up and/or some blushing like cracking porcelain. My brain first went fairy, then went wait no make a doll for my other dolls, cuz I'm weird XD

 

I ordered the 15 Lucent also. Now I only have Granado dolls in the queue.

 

Ok! It's been a while since I've been in here, but I have finally bought a body for my Neptune and holy moly I am so excited. Claudio (and Jin'Yuu by extension) will be getting a body! And jointed hands! I went for the Embody with the version 3 jointed hands. I'm curious to see how much they've improved compared with Iwan's version 1 jointed hands.

 

My 31cm guys are coming!
I thought they'd be shipped be EMS, but they are coming by j-net. Never heard of them. Wonder how long it will take now.

Has anyone else got their tracking?

 

My Friend and I ordered 2 the 15 Lucent . She got hers in white skin and I got him in wind fresh. Both open eyes. Can't wait for box opening now. Now to look around at eyes and making of wigs. So much dollie fun awaits.

 

Jealousy!!!! May I ask when you placed the order? Did you get an Ascent? Never heard of j-net. Have you had any updates?

@Quiet and Insane And now they're coming out with a modded mini-embody. Very pretty. Congrats on the decision! I got 2 pair of the gen 3 hands and I love them. They mold into position in a very natural way.

I paid for my guys in full on September 3. There're three boys (one is for a friend) and yeah one of them is on Ascent31 body. I hadn't heard about j-net before either. May be it's for the best they don't work all over, they seem to specialize on Russia and nearby countries, they don't have very nice reviews though. According to them depending on how lucky you are, your parcel may travel from 1.5 to 6 months. Crazy huh? Don't wish anybody such srvice My box is still in China, 17 days it's been somewhere there waiting for its plane (I hope, it's gonna be a plane) to come to my country.

I LOVE Granado jointed hands. What sizes do you have? I bought a Zen pair, but they were to small for a 70cm body, so now I'm thinking of replacing them with a larger model, not sure which tbh.

 

@Letta Sigh. Mine was paid in full on August 25 and still hasn't even been shipped. It's a little frustrating. I've got all work on my little crew pending because it's the body for one and the head for another. Sigh....

I...don't know that they're different. I got them when I ordered the bodies, one was the adagio70, the other the 74 Vigor. Are they slightly small for the Vigor...maaaaaybe, but I really don't care. They're so pretty! I can just press my finger lightly into the point I want them to shape around and it's there with just slight tweaks.

Problem is, I also like the regular hands. They're beautiful. I'm going to try to figure a way to mod the wrists to make changing the hands easier.

If you follow this link, it'll take you to my Granado images on my much in need of revamp blog. I actually mixed up the boy's hands. I got a windfresh Vigor and a normal Adagio, but if you want to see the hands on the two different size bodies, that's what I've got. As I say, they appear to be the same hands. I'd say they actually fit the 70 better. The Stephen posing slide show has him with one regular and one posable hand.

@Vindalootoo - I did see that! It's very lovely looking, but I have two mature minis and I'm not keen on getting more honestly. They just don't have the same presence that the big guys do, which I really love. I do still adore my minis regardless, but I don't think I'll be getting more unless they're something completely new and cool that doesn't come in SD.

I really like the OG hands that I bought with Iwan's Nuevo body 6ish years ago? But they're a little snappy and sometimes don't like to hold natural in-between poses. It's all or nothing. I should wire them, though they're better than the DZ hands I bought forever ago.

 

Thanks. Right now it's just a record of progress. I'm looking forward to time to actually finish their faceups and make them real clothes, and start taking some "real" photos of them. . Mostly I hoped that would give you an idea of the size of the 3-hands.

@Quiet and Insane Oh, I totally understand! I just mentioned that as a curiosity. And you nailed it with the term "presence." I'm wondering how I'm going to get along with my two big guys, (I just got them last fall, right before weather and holidays set in to steal my time.) where it comes to making stuff for them and photography and such. I fear I'm so lazy that the minis are right down my gutter. The big guys definitely demand, uh, class.

 

My first BJD was an SD and I was hooked from the moment I opened the box. Big boys are where my heart lies. I tend to like cuddling them while I play video games or read. Their weight is very grounding. It's fun sewing for them too, because it's not super fiddly like the smaller ones can be. Hmm...judging by the habits of a couple of mine, I'm not sure "class" is what they have.

 

When did you all order your dolls? I sent Granado an email requesting information about the status of my doll since their website says 50-70 days. They responded by saying it is 50-70 business days, but going by American weekends and holidays - it's still over 50 days. This is the first time I've ordered from Granado, and I'm starting to worry I'm going to find myself in a DollShe situation.

 

Granado has a very good reputation and is nothing at all like Dollshe, so I wouldn't worry too much.

70 business days is around 3 to 4 months. (And it's a common thing to go by business days, it is a business after all.) When I ordered from them last March, I got my doll (with faceup) in four months.

Granado is based in China. The Lunar New Year holidays are coming up, so that might cause a bit of delay. New Year Day is on 1 Feb this year and I think in Mainland China, they take around 2 weeks off?

 

@ZaidaBoBaida I second @namika and hope my comments didn't cause concern. Granado is great to deal with. I was just getting a little impatient because I ordered my Ascent very early, with no faceup or any special bells or whistles, and others were already receiving them or at least tracking numbers...and I was jealous! Crocus also surprised his team with Ascent, and then the new tiny guy, and I suspect they've gotten a lot of orders all at once. Not to worry. It'll be worth the wait!

 

Granado is definitely nothing like Dollshe. They're definitely one of the companies that have a "normal" waiting time. I've been collecting for over 8 years now, and anything around the 3-4 month mark is something I find to be the average for wait times. Though of course, everything slows for Lunar New Year, and honestly, everyone deserves a holiday, even if it means my order is delayed a while.

 

I'm going to 2nd all the above and add that face ups and full sets for them take the full 70 business days unless something makes it take a touch longer like holidays or whatever. I got my S.O. a Gabriel full set and poked them around the 50 business day mark, was told it'd be closer to 70 around 70 checked in again. Doll was almost done but they had a back order for his boots and that added another month give or take. The whole time their support people were super polite and the doll got home safe and mostly sound.
(One jointed hand was damaged in shipping and I'm waiting for a replacement pair.)

 

I just ordered my Saturn Titan last night. I always love when I deal with Granado. They weren’t selling any heads but they went ahead and let me order a Saturn head with my titan body, since they know that titan compatible heads so not come up often. I absolutely cannot wait to have my boy home. Althean (pronounced “All-the-on”) is finally going to be here with my doll family. My story for him is that he’s the Superior Guard to the Queen of Atlantis.

 

I wish they would make jointed hands for the titan. That would be amazing

 

Omfg I'd love my titan to have jointed hands, that would be epic. Double so as I made my Titan guy into a Marvel super hero so being able to make fists or hold things would be nice.

Gratz on ordering a Saturn Titan BTW. It might be massive body, but it's such an awesome one, it's cool to see more pop up here once in a while.

Does anyone know of any larger jointed hands that will color match to fresh skin resin from Granado?

 

Can I ask what size wig yiur titan wears? I’m trying to shop for stuff for him when he gets here.

Oddly without going to look I know his wig size off the top of my head. The reason I know it off hand is the character has two forms normal and hero mode and so I have two dolls of him and have to make wigs and eyes match on both. Both versions of Zane/J2 are in Monique Gold Label "Teddy" wigs in brown. His hero form is one size bigger then his normal self and is in a size 8/9.

My J2 is a Nico and I think his head is like 9 even, (or close) and between that and the wig's style he pulls off that size wig. Also I think depending on style and wig maker 9/10 wigs should work as well if not better then 8/9s. The Teddy style has good stretch and is styled/cut to fit tight/snugly.

I don't know much about other companies, but I find Granado amazingly accommodating.

The waiting rooms are mostly us waiting and checking each others wait times to try and guess how long our owns will be. Intermixed with us exchanging ideas for our incoming dolls.

I'm still waiting for my tinies to arrive. They've been on their way for 53 days now. I start thinking I'll never get them.

 

I'm hoping I'll get a shipping notice late March/early April for my Embody. I shouldn't be this impatient, but my poor Neptune head (Claudio) is turning six next week and I feel so bad that he's only just getting a body now because other dolls have grabbed my attention and money.

Hope the body arrives soon. I considered buying a head and then a body later but I didn’t want to risk not being able to get the body and as it’s my first doll I wanted to experience a whole doll from the beginning.

 

That's very fair. I've been collecting for a long while now, and heads have always been a little more important to getting a character "right" to me. To be fair, Claudio was an Andrew before I decided Neptune would work better. Bodies come later when I find space and money, provided I don't get veeeeeery distracted.

I was convinced up until the last second that I would be getting Noah but I asked 2 of my daughters and they both agreed that Lucent would fit better so Lucent it is. I looked at Shadow too but he reminded me of a different person lol. Honestly I can see myself wanting to get more than one already. I got the evolve body because that’s what was in the offer but honestly I don’t know much about the bodies.

@Quiet and Insane Y'know...if you'd asked me before I ever got into this hobby, I'd have totally agreed with you! But from the first time I got hands-on, what "sold me" was the poseability of FL'slittle LTF. For me, the body language these little treasures are capable of is really important. I put off getting into the larger ones because posing seemed so limited. Then Granado came out with the Adagio, and the beauty of that body, and what appeared to be good poseability, pushed me into the investment. I was a little disappointed, ultimately, in the lack of a mobility joint, but it's pretty good and undeniably gorgeous. Sadly, none of the available heads were right for either of my guys, so I ordered Noahs for both, which I figured I could mod into the right look, as I did with my ChicLines, then just happened on the perfect heads for them on the MP! I still have the Noah heads. I think one will become a younger version of one of the characters, and share the Adagio body with Stephen, but I'll probably have a spare large Noah head, should anyone want one!
