Granado Dolls Waiting Room v4!

May 11, 2018

    1. Yeah, that was the second one to make the target numbers. I wonder how many people got signed up for those during the deadline. I know they opened the 30-32cm up for further orders after that but haven't seen that with the other crowdfunding sizes. Only one 45-48cm in the waiting room.

    2. Oh haha I thought the 50 funded next, shows how good my memory is. But yay! Seems I should be next either way!

    3. I'm not sure I'm in the waiting room for the 45 cm but I am waiting for him. :)

    4. My Enoch head should be here tomorrow! :dance

    5. Still waiting on a shipping notice for my 31.5cm Lucifer :(

    6. ARGH. My Enoch head did not arrive. It just sat in the sorting centre all afternoon. :...( The sorting centre which is only a 5 minute drive from my house but is not open to the public.

    7. Oh I know that feeling, when a package sits in the sorting house for too long. :roarArrgh. Highly frustrating, hope he arrives in the morning.:clover:clover:clover:clover

Still waiting on the shipping notice for my tan tiny Lucifer. :|

    8. I have an OT for this thread head currently sitting at my local post office, which is literally 2 buildings away from my work (where the head is to be delivered). Tracking says delivery in 1-12 days. WTF?! I feel your pain @Quiet and Insane

    9. So Enoch arrived this afternoon...but uh one slight problem...he's in Sunshine, not Tan like I ordered. :...( I double checked my invoice and I had indeed selected "tan" as a resin option...this is most definitely not tan.

[IMG]Granado tan vs sunshine resin by Liz, on Flickr

    10. Oh dear. I hope Granado can rectify this quickly for you. He's beautiful though.

    11. I ordered him through Clover Singing...so I don't really know what to do since he's technically sold out on the Granado site. :(

    12. Well, you have copies of your order which clearly shows you ordered tan and that's not what you got. I'd say contact Christina and let her know of the mix up.

    13. She seems adamant that the resin colour I received is tan. She even went so far as to send me a photo of the resin samples from Granado and labeled "sunshine" as "tan"...only when it goes through Google translate it comes back as sunshine. Heck I even emailed Granado about it and not only did they say that A) Clover Singing/Jeeryama isn't as official dealer (she just buys right off their Taobao), but that B) they actually translated all the Chinese for me and CS/J had labeled the wrong colour as tan (possibly in an effort to get me to just shut up and go away, seeing as I can't read Chinese). Sadly Granado is unable to do anything to help as this is between the dealer and I (fair enough). So either CS/J will re-order the head for me and I'll send the incorrect one back, or I'll ask for a full refund and send the head back. Either way, the head is useless to me in this colour as Enoch and Neptune are supposed to be sharing a body.
I'm incredibly pissed off about all of this right now. This is the first and final time I ever use Clover Singing/Jeeryama.

    14. I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with her. I also hope that you can get this straightened out without all kinds of foot-dragging and put-offs.

    15. That’s lame that they don’t just admit that it’s the wrong color. :roar:roar

    16. Got a reply from Jeeryama saying that she will replace the head with one in the correct colour. So yay...two more months of waiting. :sigh

      • x 1
    17. Well at least you'll end up with the correct colour. Sucks about the wait though

    18. Wow, reading this actually made me mad. I'm really glad you're getting your order fixed but I hate it when people like this lie about making their mistake. She even went so far as to edit the image. Ugh. I know that it's better to give someone the benefit of the doubt but I grew up experiencing this sort of business practice on a daily basis. It's like the standard for China and I was taught that if something is messed up, it's my own fault for not being clever/capable enough to discern it. But that's bogus because it's impossible for someone to know everything and it takes the responsibility out of the person who should be responsible - the seller.

I'd thought CS/J was different from a lot of sellers on Taobao and Chinese sellers that I've encountered, but it seems I'm wrong. Good to know, thanks for the head's up. I also wasn't sure how I felt about how CS/J "represents" companies, I'd always thought that it was a bit sketchy that she doesn't officially represent most of her listed companies but I figured it was ok as long as people were getting what they paid for. Then, recently, I'd learned that by not having contracts with BJD companies, CS/J doesn't have to follow policies like price-matching with the official companies that official dealers do, and they have no obligation to make sure that your order is correct. What's stopping someone like that from messing up a more expensive order and then lying about it? Furthermore, CS/J does a lot of sales and the like on her own that aren't sanctioned by the BJD companies/artists, undercutting the BJD companies and the official dealers so that people will buy through her. She gets her profit from buying at the domestic Chinese market price and then selling at the overseas market price. I'm not sure on the fine details of why things are more expensive for the overseas market, but I think it has to do in large part with official companies that engage in import/export needing to pay for the maintenance of licenses, as well as taxes. An individual seller doesn't have to do that because it's a lot less conspicuous for a person to be sending out a lot of "gifts" declared at $10 than it is for a company to do the same.

I dunno, maybe it's just me, but it doesn't feel right to cut into the original company/artist's profits by taking advantage of costs set by business expenses, without having those business expenses. :\

    19. @Iron_Dog - Eventually, yes. Not like I can paint him yet anyway with the weather what it is. Nor does he have a body.

@sno4wy - It really puts a sour taste in my mouth. I'm certainly not going to ever deal with her again and once this is all over and done with I will be writing a very sternly worded review as a warning to others. CS/J does seem to be the official dealer for some companies (I can't remember which ones off the top of my head though, but there's a small handful), and I know several people who have had no issues with her, but this information is somewhat alarming.
I should have noticed something was up when she didn't refund me for the overcharge on the resin colour the way Granado always does when you just buy a head. :| I'm tempted to just ask for a full refund and tell her not to bother ordering a new one, I'll just send back the incorrect one.

    20. @Quiet and Insane Wow, I'm pretty surprised at them even going so far as to change the picture! That's just.... beyond.
They've been around for so long, and there have been plenty of times I've seriously thought about using them to get a doll or head or two, but just never followed through. Too lazy. lol
After your experience, I'll be sure to never go there. What a mess!:vein:evil:

Sounds like the best thing to do, just return the head, get your money back, and ask Granado directly if you can order from them.

    21. I can certainly see why you'd feel that way @Quiet and Insane To deny that the wrong colour was sent when even the company that makes the doll says it's not what you ordered...

    22. @aernath - It's incredibly off putting and dishonest. Prior to this, I've only ever heard good things about them from friends but this is just insane. Said friends have now decided against using her again. She's agreed tot he refund and I'll be sending the head back once she gives me her address details. Granado have been sweet enough to offer to make the correct head for me once I've got my refund. They're such wonderful people, I feel like I should make them something as a thank you. :sorry

@Iron_Dog - CS/J later claimed that it was an internal language difference, but unless we're talking vastly different Chinese dialects then there's no difference. The characters are still the same if not at least very similar, and Granado demonstrated that (hell, even google translate did that for me). I don't even know anymore. :sigh

    23. @Quiet and Insane It sounds like a blatant lie. I speak Mandarin and while I can't understand what are heavily accented relative to what I'm used to hearing, it's the same language written down. Heck, even Cantonese, which I understand least of all, is written with the traditional form that is basically a fancier way of writing THE SAME CHARACTERS. CS/J's excuse is total bullshit, and it makes me mad because I see this sort of thing happening so much. Trying to play the whole "ignorant foreigner" card is just... please, stop.

Sorry for getting so worked up over this. This sort of thing has just always bothered me, and I admit that having been cast in the role of "not being smart enough to know better and thus deserving what you get" when merchants were being dishonest has made it more than a bit personal for me.

    24. @sno4wy - Yeah I fully understand that. This whole situation is just so frustrating. Terrible customer service really. I'll let everyone know how things go as they unfold. Right now CS/J appears to be on holiday so this might take a while...

    25. I emailed Granado today about my lucifer. I’m aware they ship in batches, but I was told he’d be shipped end of July or early August and here we are at the end of August and my order is still ‘preparing’ though I’ve paid it all off. I’m sure they’ll get back to me.

    26. My tan tiny Lucifer shipped today. :dance Don't know how the Typhoon will affect shipping times but Yay!!! I'm glad Granado made it through the storm okay! :cheer

    27. I had a request for the shipping fee for my 53/55cm Lucifer in my inbox this morning. Whoot! In the email, they said they expect to ship him out at the end of September/beginning of October. Super excited for this even if I have no idea what size eyes or wig he's going to take.

    28. Rats... I guess the 53ish guys are shipping before the 45ish ... congrats to you thou!

    29. Oh that's exciting! :D

Update on my Enoch fiasco...CS/J refunded me the payment and I sent the head back. It arrived last week and so far I've been in contact with Granado directly for my Enoch head. So should this be added as another entry...or should I edit the one I've already made on the waiting list?

    30. Yep, super excited for him. I likely have no wig for him but I have a box of eyes and I'm sure I can find something reasonable. I'd asked on their Q&A if they knew the eye size for the 53/55cm as I'm going to be placing an Oscar Eye order soon, but they said they didn't know yet.

That does make me wonder a little though as I asked about the eye size 2 days ago and the email I got this morning said they were nearly finished making him so....

    31. Yes that is a bit of an odd response. Perhaps they've not had a chance to try?

    32. I actually got my bronze lucifer in last week, and I was so excited I forgot to post about it. He’s adorable! I stole a ken outfit for him off some poor now nude doll I bought cheap, and the only thing that didn’t fit was the shoes! I’ll be taking the jacket apart in order to use it as a pattern for a leather jacket.

    33. I also got a "around the end of September to the beginning of October" notice for a 43 cm Lucifer.

    34. Congrats, Looking forward to seeing your bronze guy.

    35. Hmmm, maybe they're really on the ball and are getting these guys out in a timely fashion. I do remember seeing the prototype/master cast of the 53cm boy some time back although there weren't any follow up pics so maybe they just kept motoring along on him and the other sizes. Or perhaps there weren't as many of the 53cm and 44cm boys as the tinies?

Truthfully, as long as I get him more or less when they say I will, I'm pretty fricken happy.

    36. Granado posted a pic to their FB that showed a bunch of 43/53cm boys in shipping boxes. Yea! I really like it when a company keeps their word about expected delivery times.

    37. I think you are right about the 43/53 boys not getting as many ordered as the 31 boys. Just enough to make one mold last through the different colors. I'll bet they had to make at least 2 molds for the number of 31s they had orders for, so they offered to make more using the life span of the second mold. Just my idle thoughts on the subject.

    38. I love that they take and share so many in progress photos!
I got my shipping payment request too (53cm)! Getting excited again!
My full sized Lucifer finally got the perfect wig, so now a faceup...? Doll progress is so slow for me this year!

    39. There didn't appear to be a lot of 43/53cm boys lined up for packaging but not all of the boxes had a doll in them either so I don't think they were finished making/packaging them up. The threshold for making was only 5 so....

I had a tough choice between the tinies and the 53cm. I love both sizes but this time, the 53cm won out. I hope they offer the tinies at some time in the future, perhaps with a different head sculpt.

    40. I logged in and my 43 guy still says “preparing”. Maybe since I did layaway it will take longer :(

    41. I think it will say that until it actually ships. Mine is all paid for including shipping now and still says "preparing".

    42. I got my shipping notice for my second boy and my order says shipped. I got the shipping fee request and paid it in July. Looks like he was one of the last little ones to ship before the bigger guys.

    43. Still no movement on my Lucifer since 9/16 :...(:...(:...(:...(

    44. Has anyone gotten at package from Granado or China since the Typhoon or am I the only unlucky one?

    45. I hope it's just stalled in Customs or something. Fingers crossed for you @SteamWitch . I'm hoping daily for the email that says my guy has shipped since they said they'd send him at the end of Sept/beginning of Oct.

    46. Granado just answered my email it seems our #$%^ President with his trade war talk is slowing things down a ton. Hopefully things will move, eventually. :...(:(:horror::pout::sorry:atremblin

    47. Well, at least you know it's not lost in the mail somewhere. That's something positive at least.

    48. Yes, it's not lost. Just stuck in limboland.

    49. Yup, and I'm afraid we'll all in the USA have to start paying for the tariffs now, on our dolls from China. :(
I got the shipping payment email and sent the payment, just waiting on shipping notice, and then expecting tariff notice from the post office when he arrives. *sigh*

    50. Yeah, I can see that. This will be as bad for small doll makers as the counterfeiters.

    51. I finally see movement in the tracking and it is all at once. I may get him today or tomorrow. :aeyepop::o

    52. Well that totally sucks for all of you in the USA. :( Someone needs sense to fall on them like a brick wall... Not that I can talk, our pollies are a bit of a joke at the moment too. :| Hopefully my replacement head won't take too long.

    53. Yea! for tracking movement. I'm still waiting for the coveted tracking number from Granado. Funny enough, I got an email this morning saying one of my dolls (not the Granado) had shipped and I wasn't expecting to get that notice for another 3 weeks at the earliest. I just hope the silliness with the looming CANPost strike won't delay anything. Fingers crossed that he'll slide through Customs without getting dinged, too.

    54. I received my boy today without any additional fees. :danceSo I am one happy camper.
I'll post photos in the Tiny Lucifer thread.

    55. Yea! Congrats!

    56. I'm and so happy he arrived. now I only have three outstanding heads to wait on. (Pygmalion Ha, Souldoll Federer-Elf & OT vinyl Hansel)

    57. Got a shipping notice with a tracking number in my in-box this morning! Whoot!!! It says it may take a few days for the tracking number to work, which is fine. Now I have 2 dolls that are enroute to me right now *laughs*. I think my naga boy will get here first since he was shipped out near the beginning of the week but it'll depend on the vagaries of Customs *sighs*. Fingers crossed that both of them slide on through without any fees.

    58. Yay! And I just got the news that my 53cm Lucifer is in the shipping department's hands, and a tracking number! Woohoo!

@SteamWitch love the pics of your two boys! That tan is such a nice color. Reminds me of caramel. Mmmmm. And cute aloha shirts! Good job!

Strikes and tariffs oh my! Hopefully our boys will skate through on home with no problems!
