I just got an early Christmas present notice! My Deneb is on her way to me!!! I really didn't expect to see her until the end of December or sometime in January. I'm so Jazzed!

 

Would love to know if Soom will do the Mecha kits like last time, thinking about getting one.

If I can butt in and ask, I was wondering how bad the seams are on Mecha Angels without sanding? I'd really rather not buy the seam sanding (whenever the time comes), but if the seams are absolutely terrible...

Just thought I'd ask here.

 

The seams are not too bad, but it kind of depends on how picky you are. I've never felt the need to sand them, and there are only one or two that occasionally show in photos.

And please do not feel like you are butting in. This really is supposed to be a discussion thread, not a spam thread.

So, all the seems have already been sanded down by other members prior to me buying them.

Seams bother me a lot, which is why I became a modder. My sabik came with some pretty nasty ones that Ive been working on. I hate that they dont even sand the hands! D:

I actually haven't done Mr. Brightside's faceup yet. The holidays have gotten me pretty bummed so I am lacking all motivation. I am hoping, though, to have it done within the next two weeks so I can make his wigs and put in the gorgeous Makoeyes I got him. Maybe looking at Gable will motivate me. He really is absolutely GORGEOUS!

Hmm, I can't tell if they're keeping with the "futuristic cyborg secret agents" theme of the line or if she's just wearing a modern outfit and happens to carry a gun. More sci-fi from Soom would be great.

 

Pretty sure its 1 or 2 cm diff.... I forgot to get pics when we had my saiph an my mates boy together at a meet...

 

Oooh, I'd love to see new girl as a new boy. ^o^ I have a feeling that like most of the Mecha women, she'd switch genders well. I could call her...Bellator (rhymes with 'Skeletor')! Mwa-ha-ha!

 

I have a Mecha Angel Sabik Elf with jointed hands. I had real fun threading those hands with elastic. Because they were offering them only in kit when I got them. I found using a needle helped tons with getting the job done with the threading. He came complete with the leg "beans" which keep falling out so I do not use them. I find his legs like to rotate which is annoying when out on a meet. But over all I love the sculpt, especially the face. No one ever takes him to be a girl doll like other BJD's I have. I have a few outfits for him at least three complete outfits and the steampunk officers outfit that was offered with the Elf version. I only wish Soom would do more outfits for this size doll. I have made some Middle Ages outfits which suit him. But I do wish more could be purchased readily.

 

I had that problem with the "beans" falling out but they really help a ton with the standing. I hot-glued (on low-heat setting) the "beans" into their top-of-the-leg spot, works great! And the hot glue is easily removed so it's not a permanent change.

 

Does anyone sew for the girls? Does anyone have an Idealian and a Mecha girl? I want to see them together.

 

After a whole year I finally gave Ariadne a new faceup, so happy with it yoohoo!

and after soo long i have my girl back from my friend... sadly no dress... but she was given somthing to wear in the mean time :3 i also managed to begin her face-up :3 i will need to post it. lol.

 

Joy - I have an elf sabik as well. And a rex and male vega. Something that helps keep the pegs in the legs is tightening them. When they're loose(Soom usually sends them really loose), they like to fall out and their legs do tend rotate.

I never thought of using a needle for jointed hands, though. I'll keep that in mind for sure. ^__^

 

finally got a shot of my Siaph with her face-up and body back! she still needs her hands modded, and her dress started, but jill was nice enough to give her a little black dress for the minuet :3


her eyes are really a pearl/silver... but they shone up really blue from my lamp. i really do adore these big girls and guys... i think i might be doomed to get a boy oneday and or possibly the new tan girl.... but i have so many smaller dolls i want first XD

 

My Corvi just arrived after only three months wait! Am totally in love with this beautiful man - he emotes to me like my Rex doesn't (too involved with his GF Nephelin!) So here is Fayed ... easy to love and so hard not to spam him!

 

Corvi is a gorgeous men, I wish Soom will continue making more male mecha.

I do to, because then all the clothes we've bought for them would fit all of the men, instead of now we have SuperGem, MegaGem, Mecha Angel, and Idealians 51 and 72. Mind boggling when it comes to finding clothes and shoes.

I agree - he is gorgeous as well as soooo sexy and so very masculine! I just discovered today, taking more pictures in sunlight in the house, the intricacy of this sculpt - so much attention to the little details of his face, killer cheekbones, sensuous "kiss me now" mouth, and of course his nose. Gee, does it sound like I am totally insanely in love with Fayed? Yep.

How huge is your wish list? I have paved my way to hell with layaways and am praying that there are no new Idealians out for a while or anything interesting on the MP! Decided against Bellatrix since I have enough females around here, including a NS Saiph, that need me to sew for them! My wish list is mostly Sold Outs so I don't need to worry about going deeper in debt - at least not for a while ....

I can hardly wait to see your Corvi now - have you named him yet? I had picked out a name after I ordered mine, but when he arrived, it just didn't fit him at all. So, the name Fayed just sort of dropped out of the sky, and suits him so well. Can't figure out why there are not more Corvis for us to enjoy. IMO he is a very versatile and masculine sculpt - he can be dressy or bad-boy, or just casual, and still be gorgeous.

BTW are you on Flickr? I would love to see pictures of the dolls in your signature block.

Thank you so much. Bloody did his faceup. The eyes I used are Captured in Glass and are 14mm with 10mm Iris. They are round. I had an awful time finding eyes as well.

He looks so much like Sabik, that I could have sworn that it was Sabik in some of those pictures. I see the differences, but they could be brothers.

 

Ohh yes, the new boy is gorgeous, He is like Sabik mixed with Chalco and something else. But he's definitely really lovely^^

 

Every picture of him with shadowing looked like Sabik. It was weird. @_@

Loooove his outfit though. Too bad Jin wouldn't wear all black. But, that trench is smexy. *__*

Yay, finally a new Mecha! I feel like he looks like a modified Sabik - with lips from one of the Super Gem MD sculpts (maybe Sphaler?) Its nice to see them expanding the line

Now I'm conflicted as to whether to order Antares next or the dolls I was planning...

 

He is gorgeous and he is MINE! I have been waiting and waiting for a new MA male. IIRC Rex was the last MA male released in early 2008. His eyes remind me of Sabik, but also of some of the newer Mega Gems and Super Gems about the chin and mouth. I fervently wish he came in Cream White, but there is no way I'm passing him up!

 

Antares looks like a "grammaton cleric". Not to say that's a bad thing though.

I think I am going to have to get Antares....he can by my Gables twin. Does anyone know what the ordering period is for him???? I saw the clothes said Feb 15-Feb 29th...is it the same for Antares????

 

All of the Mecha Angels' ordering period is Feb. 15-20th.
