General Mecha Angel discussion thread!

I also haven't found a special thread for Mecha girls and boys, which is kinda strange to me...
Glad there's one now, anyway ^^

I've just received Meisa today and I'm more than happy with her. She's so beautiful! One of my favorite molds this far. I was planning to get her someday, but when Soom informed that they're discontinuing her... I had to hurry up. And, of course, I don't regret it at all!

She's still nameless though and fully naked... should sort it out somehow xD

 

Please show lots of Meisa pics, I waited for Soom to turn Meisa as a male then they decided to discontinue. I am sooo disappointed. Meisa will look great as a boy. Now I am waiting for Soom to produce another male mecha. So far I have Saiph, Corvi, and Vega in my collection. Need more hunkie male.

 

Anyone know how heavy Sabik is...? I'm adopting him soon from a friend, and I'm wondering what to expect xD I hear he's quite a handful xD

 

Ruepaw-Sabik isn't really that much heavier than most 70cm dolls. He's hollowed out pretty well in the chest area and my dollshe and EID boys feel much heavier to me.

 

@Dream: Yeah, I've felt the weight of an EID with the Superhero body, and THAT was pretty weighty xD [I'll be ordering a EID Bichun with that body eventually, which is why I was testing xD] But, yes, if you say that Sabik feels comparitively lighter, then I think it should be okay when it comes to my carry bag and how my back will cope with all my dolls at once xD xD xD

 

Now that I have two, I guess it's time to admit defeat and park myself here. ^^;

Second one is a hybrid, currently wearing my Soom Ender head until I order the proper one. Love these guys, but dang is it ever hard to clothe them.

 

I think I looked into that for a bit, but happily for me there's an awesome seamstress in Hungary who sews the most gorgeous outfits for Mecha Angel boys. That way I don't have to settle for the few things that are available.

P.S. Does anyone have a Betel? Curious to see that sculpt outside of promo shots.

 

Love the pics of Cain, bluekitsune~ I'll have to see if I can dig up some pics to post of my boy. I've been sewing a lot for him, so I haven't gotten to take many. Was somebody considering holding a MA clothing swap? Could have sworn I saw something somewhere on DOA.

There's a really great detailed measurement thread for the MA boys here. Not sure about the big girls though.

 

I wonder if Soom would let me get a Betel on a boy body... I really like that face. ^^

 

Saiph :3 it was a hard pick between her and Betel! but Saiph won as she has that innocence i need for this character. she's going to tower over all my other resins XD but that's my intention with her :3
i'm lucky there's two local owners with beautiful mecha boys near me, but no one local has a mecha girl

 

Finally got a faceup and sort of a quickly-sewn dress for my Meisa ^_^ Not sure if she'll stay like that, and she's still nameless, but she's so gorgeous

I was surprised to see her discontinued.

 

Decided to add Sabik's pic also He is my most favorite BJD I feel protective over him because of his cyborg past I have given him sanctuary

egura - another nice black-haired Sabik! Mine started out with a black wig, but it was too poofy, so we went with blonde, and now I can't imagine him any other way. So if I want a black-haired Sabik, I'll have to get another one!

I need to jump in on this because I cannot find great pictures of a female Deneb to save my life!!! I just
ordered her during Soom's 5 day order period. She's one of my "Grail dolls" I just love that high fashion model, "It's all about me," look!
I even made a request on a couple of group sites, but no one is responding. It's almost like she's taboo or something. I have to say though, that I'm really getting into these MAs! The pics on this thread are great!

 

Hi guys : ) I just love the mecha angels and I plan to buy one or two one of these days but wanted to know how you know when the boys/girls go on sale ?

 

They have an end of the month ordering period called "FFD," which means "For Five Days." During this period they put certain MAs up for sale. They don't always place the same ones up every month from what I'm told. Today is the last day for August.

I have another mecha body currently wearing an Ender head but we'll be swapping heads to one more appropriate in a couple months. ^^;

Glitzsuger & DWphilpott: DWphilpott is right, they come up on rotation every month for five days. it swaps gender each month. so August was the girls, and September will be the boys, and october girls again etc. its generally around the 15th of each month they come up, and soom normally posts a message a few days before hand to let you know who's coming up on that rotation and what colours their available in.

tygati: he's beautiful!! :3 so bright all the colours!

 

Is there a listing somewhere on the best places to get things like wigs, outfits, etc? I know that Dollmore clothes and shoes fit the MAs pretty well, but these guys have pretty large heads. Some of the wig sites only go up to 8-9 in size while others go up to that and then skip to 10-11 skipping the 9-10 size.
What are some of you using on your MAs.
By the way! I'm planning to try and make a hard cap wig for my Deneb once I get her, so I'll keep you posted on how well that goes.

 

Tygati, Looking at your wonderful Goldfish Merman again, I really love how the blue eyes actually complement the orange of his body and outfit! I'd love to see more shots of him to get the full picture of his character.

 

Thanks! I was a little worried! Even though I intend to make a wig or two for Deneb I've never had a MA before! Heck! I've only been up close to one twice, believe it or not! Anyway, someone had said that they have big heads and tend to wear size 10 wigs.

Or actually, I didn't find any when I was looking for one and now that I have the one I wanted no reason to look xD

What company shoes fit them best ?

 

Bluekitsune is right! Check the foot size. I think both the male and female MAs can wear the Dollmore model size shoes and also the Iplehouse EID shoes. But, again check the foot size and compare. It's the clothes that get a little funky. They also can wear Dollmore stuff apparently.

 

Goldfish wears an 8/9 Monique with no issues whatsoever. His head isn't really that much bigger than any of my other dolls, who all tend to wear 8/9s with very few exceptions. So unless a company's wig runs very small, I'd say you're aiming more for an 8/9 than a 9/10 unless you want it to be loose and/or wear a wigcap underneath.

I should probably add that this is fiber wigs. For fur wigs, you definitely move up to a 9/10. ^^;;

 

I'm not surprised with the way everything is right now. I know several collectors who are saying the same thing, that their dolls are stuck in customs somewhere.

 

I've got one item that tracking hasn't updated in nearly two weeks now. x_x Meh. I suspect this means that Jin's outfit from Ayase won't show up until well into next month, if it continues on this way. :/ Poor Jin's going to be stuck squeezing into a 70cm kimono which is literally the only thing I have that will fit him short of Goldfish's outfit, and Goldfish isn't inclined to share.

 

So..., I'm currently paying off Deneb and hope to pay here off by the end of September. When I ordered Bygg it took about 4 months or so to finally get him. How long from the final payment does it usually take to get a doll like MA Deneb? Someone scared me and said 8 or more months. If that's the case it'll be June or July before I see her. YIKES!!!

 

I have a few different wig brands for my Deneb. He fits a DollHeart 8/9, Monique 8/9, JPop 8/9 and For My Doll 8/9 wig perfectly. He's actually one of the easiest dolls I have to buy wigs for, and I've never had a problem with any 8/9, now that I think of it. His head is just the right shape for most standard wigs with elastic. ^__^
