General Mecha Angel discussion thread!

I made the first payment for mine in December, I used the full Layaway so I made the final payment in March and received him in April ^^

I'm not too sure on the date of the final payment but I know when I got him ;3

His outfit's still a work in progress, (still have to finish his tunic and some other leather bits) but I couldn't pass up taking some quick pics of my boy while the weather was nice.

 

Oh, those are marvelous! I've always thought hand-made Mecha Angel clothing has a great success rate because it's easier to work large and in-scale detailing hardware is more readily found. Fantastic job so far!

Thanks for all the wonderful compliments! I have to agree that sewing for these guys is soooo much easier with room to work with and notions are more in-scale. Still have so many ideas for Verryn's ranger outfit, and I'd like to eventually make an in-scale crossbow for him. :b Will post pics when I finish some more~ ^.^

On another note, does anyone know of any company's jointed hands might fit/ match the NS? I have the Soom ones, but it kind of bugs me they're so tiny compared to the rest of him. o.O I thought maybe dollzone or Dikadoll NP might be close?

A friend of mine is absolutely in love with here and we cannot seem to find any on here D=

 

I'd also like to see Betel. I'd also like to put in a request to see a female Deneb if anyone has her. I've seen a lot of male versions of her, but only 1 or 2 females.

 

There are so few Denebs out there. I think I only ever saw one of the original tan MD. I still kick myself for not buying her. An elf Deneb would be a fantastic mod, especially if she was still on the MA girl body!

 

Did you see the MD Deneb on DoA or elsewhere? I'm dying to see that girl in all her splendor. She must be gorgeous.

I need to make some new outfit(s) to my Sabik, and this is truly inspiring.
And I also second any request to see more Deneb's (and Saiph as well).

 

Well, I have her on layaway! So, by next spring I intend to do a lot with her.

 

I fell in love with Saiph, she has a beautifully sculpted body, long and slender, and such a delicate, expressive face. Think I might have a custom faceup done on her though. How often does Soom restock their Mecha Angels? I noticed that at one point they were all out of stock, then they restocked again, so I'm waiting to see if they'll do it again. *___________*

 

Soom does the FFD (For five days) thing with the MA's. Every month for five days Soom rotates which dolls they sale. Usually around the 15th of the month I believe.

 

Oh, okay. o.o I'll definitely have to stalk them then.

 

There was someone on DoA who posted pictures of their tan Deneb with the default face-up, but she never showed her in the complete default fullset. I can't even find the post now.

 

Oh, yeah! I forgot they had her at the Soom store. Too bad their displays were usually jumbled together crap. >__< You've got to try a little harder when the glorious Volks Harajuku Sumika is a few blocks away.

The NS one because that's what Soom was offering on the FFD. If things work out and they offer the other one at some point, I'll go back and get her too. I have Deneb coming without a face up. There's an artist who I did a trade with and part of that trade is a face up for Deneb and an a leather outfit which I'll pay for. I've always seen Deneb as the large doll answer to the 16" Devas, Numinias and Sybarites! She's gonna be my High Fashion Couture' model. I'm just afraid that I'm going to have to get the male equivalent to hang out with her, LOL!

 

She's so pretty in tan~ I wish Soom would release MA monthly doll fullsets once in awhile, like when they started out doing the MDs. I know they're not as popular, but heck, even a special order would be nice once in a while. ;_;

Anyhoo, I'm currently waiting for my Sabik. I'm glad I'll have a place to discuss him/show him off. I was starting to wonder if anyone else liked MAs. XD

Mine is still before shipping but I just paid him off in the middle of August. So, boo! I just want him home already! He was one of my three grail dolls. In fact, I was convinced I'd never have him but I didn't know about Soom's FFD on MAs. When I found out, I ordered him on my birthday as a present to myself. I can't wait to get him home!

I'm a HUGE MA lover. My third Mecha (female) has a PatL & Twigling custom sculpt head.
Its larger them the Soom head.. It fits much better on the body and looks better
with the neck size and length. It fits a 11-12 wig size and she some beautiful Saiph type lips.
She is half cat half human. When Im done... she will have Breccia
feet modded to fit... Plus she has jointed hands I did custom long nails on. She is stunning.

My Mom has been getting heavy into them. I just got her two in the Market place last night.
The Mechas are to big for her. I like the bigger dolls. I also have a 90 cm Hale. Love him!

OMG! Is that the AOD doll? I saw a BJD doll at IFDC this year, (International Fashion Doll Convention), that was huge! It was from AOD.

This is the first time I see the AoD 1/2 with MAs. Daaamn, the dude is big.

carmen171 - thanks ^^ nope, that`s not default, it`s a custom fantasy makeup by Sweetly Twisted, the blushing is similar to Sabik Cyborg`s ^^ wasn`t cheap, but soooo worth it.

Sabiks is next on my list to get after Deneb. She's going to need a male model counterpart and Sabiks would be perfect!

 

My Sabik arrived today and he is awesome. ^ ^ Pictures tomorrow after I figure out his eyes and wig. Does anyone know what those little flesh colored pegs that Soom sends along with the S hooks are for? O.o They look like tic tacs only thinner.

 

Congratulations! Those little pegs are for his hip joints. If you pull a thigh out of its socket you'll see the hole for it. They are to help lock him into different leg poses.
