General 10-20cm Blind Box BJD Discussion

Oh for sure! I do wish penny's box would start skipping the unicorn horn on every single doll, but overall, I appreciate the fact that in general there are a lot of cool anthro dolls being made! I do agree that it would be nice to have more variation from "ears slapped on head" though!

 

So I bought these Christmas babies from KikaGoods. I don't care how late they arrive; they are my holiday babies.

 

Oh they're so adorable ! Personally, being in the EU I wait for them to fix the issues with european shipping and then I'll make an order of a couple of dolls and accessories

I got the full five of them and a few duplicates. They really are so cute! I haven't had a chance to actually play around with them yet, but I can't wait to get them dressed! x3
Now I just need to get my hands on the Sweet Dreams ones.

 

@Koma I recently ordered a (single) HANI Sweet Afternoon Tea doll, too! I’m actually jealous that you got so many at once, it’s a doll customizer’s dream!

I also bought a BonBon Pocket Fashionable Cute Girl doll! Depending on how I feel about the doll I get, I’ll either give her a repaint and a new outfit, or I’ll use the body to make a hybrid with one of my Autna x CCTV heads.

 

Moyuyu Cute Tea Party images have been shared. They have a cool vibe to them. The different head for the alien girl seems like a very interesting addition. My only concern is the eyes look a bit washed out hopefully that improves in further prototyping. I really like the bat girl her wings look super cool.


Sweet Emilya also look like they are making a bjd series. No pictures yet just some art but hopefully they’ll be cute. I find the figures pretty cute but much prefer bjds.

Could someone who owns a bunch of this kind of doll make a list of which dolls have inset eyes and which don't?
I only really like inset eyes & it's really hard to tell from some of the product photos.

Ten thousand escape gives you a blank faceplate for inset eyes, at least with the hidden girl. Idk if they do it with all of them though.

Hi! I have one NAGI doll I'm hoping to customize a tiny tiny bit, I am curious if anyone here knows if it's possible to buy eye chips in that size anywhere? (.8cm eye chips) I did a few searches but couldn't turn anything up, but I'm not super familiar with these types of dolls.

I'd love to be able to get purple eyes for him without trying to buy another doll just to swap their eyes lol

 

The Secret Art Studio on Etsy makes phenomenal eyes, but they ain't cheap.
EyeCo has a "Dragon Club" series of eyes, but the smallest is 11 mm. Do you need 8 mm as in the whole eye? Do you have an iris size in mind?
Etsy seller Enapattern offers custom eye sizes that might be of interest to you, too?

Liroro Summer Island, Bonnie The Starry Night, and Minty Fantasy Forest!

I was hoping to put Liroro's ears on Bonnie, but they're the opposite polarity ahahah. Oh well!

Liroro poses the best of the three in my opinion. Minty is wired but still holds poses terribly, it's like she fights back. Bonnie is little and adorable.

 

I'm a huge fan of Come4Free and had high hopes for Minty but besides the designs it seems like no one really likes the bodies... But their Bonnie dolls, especially with their big feet, have to be my favorite bodies out of a lot of the blind box lines!

 

Your friends are adorable! I hope to get a Minty girl soon myself.

It's been a while since I've checked this thread, so I didn't hear about this. I'm glad it seems that they fixed their mistake and found a legit company to partner with because I purchased the "All-in" option (all 6 bunnies + the hidden bunny + the blue bunny) and bought the blond limited bunny for my mom for her birthday next month. Hopefully everything goes better with their legit partner!

@MaleficentMrsofEvil no I haven’t…umm….darn! Those boys are awesome! I really like them! I swore off all blind box dolls, but I’m rethinking that as too harsh. I just want the black one though, as he matches an off topic bjd I have in looks.

 

They are some good looking boys haha! KikaGoods is also finally allowing purchase of Nyssa Strange Nightmare, but I can’t decide if I’m going all in and getting the 7 of them, or if 1 would suffice.

 

My favourite sized blind box dolls! They are slightly bigger than my customized OB11 Nendoroid dolls, and in my opinion, the perfect cute (chibi) to pretty ratio. I'm a bit saddened that blind boxes are now trending towards larger 1/12 scales and even towards 1/6 because I love them small.

However, I'm on the fence for the Nyssa Strange Nightmare series. I've long waited for a blind box series that catered to my love of dark fantasy and horror. It's just that when I feel they are neither small nor as creepy as I'd like them to be, they are just eh okay. I'll wait for an unboxing video to really decide.

 

My bunny girls from Inedible Doll showed up last weekend, just in time for a meetup! I chose the "All In" option and received the six regular girls, the special color, and the hidden. And I bought the blond limited one for my mom. I gave her the limited and the one with long white hair, since she also liked that one. Here are the seven I kept!

Their outfits are really nice and I'm still super impressed with the quality. Each girl came with extra hands and feet, and two extra faceplates - one of which has eyeholes, so you CAN get inset eyes for them!

Edit: Please note - some of the girls come with hair accessories and/or tails that I didn't have time to attach. The tails may need to be sewn onto the outfits, the hair accessories each come with a small square of sticky tack.

Edit #2: The "All In" option also included a sheet of expressions that can be transferred on, along with some clear gel stuff. My order also came with one additional hair (front and back), spare white rabbit ears, and a pajama set. I think if I can find just a body, I can make another bunny girl.

They feel pretty nice! There's a good weight to them and I'd say they weigh slightly more than a Sweetheart Party Bonnie. They definitely don't feel cheap or flimsy, that's for sure! From the bottom of her shoes to the top of her head not counting her ears, the taller girl is 17cm. From the bottom of her paws to the top of her head not counting her ears, the shorter girl is 14.5cm. Here are my pink bunnies for a size comparison:

I'm waffling on whether to make another girl or turn this one into a boy. My hubby and I have a running joke that every bunny doll I get is added to the number of (future) kids my main bjd couple have. That bonus head will be #17 when finished. XD

Edit: For a while they were sold out, but you should be able to get them again if you so choose! ^^

Edit #2: The bonus hair and ears are a white cast of the same hair the hidden/mage has (and extra upright ears that also came with her.) I just put the two long strands away so I wouldn't lose them. The mask is part of a pajama set that you can still get at the moment. It's listed under the clothing set that looks like it's from Alice in Wonderland. Unfortunately, that one is sold out.

 

I'm beginning to think I can't be trusted - I was JUST complaining about how I need to cut down on my collection of Little Guys and as soon as my tax return hit suddenly I had another big batch on the way home, I don't know how that happened, so weird <.<

In a "you're never too into a hobby to mess up" lesson learned, never trust an Amazon listing unless they show the box. And that's all i'll say about THAT. It's on me for only doing a cursory google search I guess.

One of the first two girlies who made it home (the rest are stuck in customs for "unknown reasons". thanks, usps.), Feathery Cat from Antu Cute Beasts Magic! She's soooo cute, and the peg for her lil kitty tail is even a ball joint so it can rotate!



My only complaint is that her staff is pretty top heavy, so getting her to hold it can be a bit of a challenge. It's so nicely detailed though, that it's a pretty minor complaint!

 

She's so cute! I adore the details on her ears, and her cute little wink!

I wanted to show off my little group since my boyfriend got me some tiny furniture for them yesterday! They never had furniture before but I love it and am already planning some DIY furniture projects

The table and chair are the perfect size, I just need to paint them and make a tablecloth The dolls are UfDoll 1/12 bodies with 3d printed heads- Miku, Cassie and Kuni I'm still working on them and plan to do a lot of changes, so please excuse them being a bit shoddy>_<

The other two are a bit too big for the furniture though- they're antu cute beast (sheep) with an UfDoll DoReMi head (named Arty) and a Kukaka insect cafe Akim

 

Forgive the terrible picture, but the bulk of my "i'm calling it a bday pressie to ME" order came in today and I have so much serotonin now. Why are tiny things so frickin cute??

I think the universe knows I'm an aries, anytime there's a sheep option I always end up with it. The only snags were that Alice's collar tore while I was trying to get it on, and Xingyun didn't have anything to stick her bow and tail on with. I had plenty of glue dots from the mermaids though, and the collar is such a tiny part of the outfit that I don't particularly care. I have SO MANY tiny hands now, lmao.

I usually check aliexpress for open box options. I hate the blind box gimmick so much. I understand why people like it but I just want the thing that I want and not risk wasting a bunch of money on things I don't want!

 

I feel this deeply. I’ve never been able to get aliexpress to work for me, even with making an account unfortunately. But at least I have a few friends that want one of them and depending on how they look in person I do like all of them so I’m not too fussed about having to buy a carton. ^^;

 

Same, I love the dolls but hate the gambling I get that blind boxes encourage spending and that's part of the reason for them being cheaper, but when I'm getting one it is always open box!
