General 10-20cm Blind Box BJD Discussion

Had some fun swapping around the heads on my Simontoys dolls. The Liroro, Teenar and Peetsoon all share the same connector.


From left to right basic Teenar, Teenar head on Liroro body, Liroro head on Teenar body, basic Liroro, Liroro head on Peetsoon body, Peetsoon head on Liroro body.

All these new releases are really appealing. I’m liking the look of the more mature bodies these companies are coming out with. Not good for my wallet though.

Edit: And the prototype for the leopard girl from the Mitian series. So cute~! Also, there's a note that the headband with ears is magnetic but the tail is part of her clothes.

 

I have to agree with @nattherat in really loving Come4Free's output. That new line just looks so lovely, and I really like all the options shown!

Also, the MMDoll x UFDoll Mianmian Strange World look really cute. Like adorably so! My wallet is crying... I am trying to save, must be strong!

 

Teaser for 'Eve Lynna: Dream Paradise' series by Neo Eden Toys. There will be 8 dolls - 6 regular and 2 hidden.

Sounds like it'll be dream themed and each doll will be Eve as a different character in her dreams. They are calling it a 'PVC MJD' with 'movable eyes' that's around 17-18 cm tall.

 

It is disappointing that they're using the Antu face again...

Hope they switch it up a bit and give Antu inset eyes, though I doubt they will.

 

Yeah, I need to agree, the Antu face has been overexposed to say the least. I also hope they at least have inset eyes as well, just to switch it up a bit. I really do like the look of the bodies for the deertaurs though.

 

Another preview of the still unnamed series by Ziyouzhuzhang. This time they've included the pets that each doll comes with.

 

This new series does look interesting - I'll be interested to see more production shots.

 

Yeah I'm trying to decide if I want to like..... sculpt my own faceplate? Mod a totally different head on? Just like..... /please/ give us a new base faceplate

Deer Antu has inset eyes!!!! And two different face molds, it seems? One with slightly sleepy eyes?

I need to agree with this - I do need to see photos of the actual thing. Even though I have been wanting a deertaur for a while...

Also, really liked to see the height difference between Mitian and Bonnie - I do like it. Surprised by it but it'll be an interesting experience...

Also ooh, ngl, the deertaurs do look quite nice. The inset eyes add some depth to the face sculpt.

The Mitian series is really cute! It's tempting, but I think I am holding off for the deertaurs atm.

I wish these dolls were on-topic. Glad I stumbled upon this thread. Might order a doll from the Mitian series.

Is it just me, or does it feel like there's a lot of concept art for new series coming out at the moment?

 

I kind of like seeing the concept art - I'm untrustworthy with blind boxes so I only let myself get them if I know for sure I'll like whatever one I get. Seeing the concepts kind helps me decide early on if a series is worth keeping tabs on.

I do agree that then having to sit and wait while you're like "aw, but they're cute and i want them now!" kind of sucks tho lmao

 

@nattherat I am right there as well. I know it's to help crowdfund, but it does feel a lot to be dealing with

@Nasa Though I have to agree here that I do like seeing all this promo art. Though with all the ones that have come out recently, the only ones sticking in my mind are the deertaurs, atm, and the Weird Nightmare ones. It's not to say I don't like others, but those are the two sticking in mind.

(There's also a 1/6 scale one in mind but that's another thread)

 

Also with @werepuppy - seeing all the concepts, even if it is a lot, means I'm less likely to impulse buy just because I think it's neat and instead actually focus on the ones that I like the most. Fortunately, the deertaurs captured my heart and nothing else has clicked quite as much!
