Ugggghh, Gem just contacted BJDivas and told them that the reason the haven't sent my BMoth yet is because they couldn't find the materials for his fullset, so I'm not getting it. I'm still getting the doll and a partial refund, but I really liked that outfit, I wanted an Octopus Witch boy. Guess I'll have to get creative.

 

I'm seriously considering getting Orion's fullset (human) as my first fullset doll (and first doll from Gem). He's stunning and really gives me ideas for a specific character, which so far is exactly the kind of thing I look for. Gorgeous face sculpt, too.

 

I bought human Coraline fullset at the dolk show room in Akihabara and I adore almost everything about her. Unfortunately her wig got a bit messed up when they packaged it up and I’m trying to figure out how to tame it back into shape. The face up is so stunning and her sculpt is very pretty. She and the other doll I got are my first 1/4 dolls ever.

Ended up waiting 6 months / HALF A YEAR for this dress, but it was worth the wait, haha. I definitely got unlucky, since I know gem doesn't take nearly as long for their outfits (at least, I don't think they do usually).

 

I got some Volks water wax for Christmas and wanted to share how well it works on the Coraline wig!

 

My Miracle Doll who I just received came with a wig marked "1/3", which is certainly too big for that doll. But Jalaa, my Capricorn wears a 7/8 instead of a 6/7 and that overlaps with 1/3, so I tried it on her. She might be keeping it.

Ugh I had seriously considered trying Gem's gashaphon event earlier this year and I talked myself out of it. Now I'm kind of regretting it, looking at all of your lovely dolls. Does anyone know if they do that event yearly, or was it a one-time thing?

 

They did it last year too so I think it's yearly. I'm kicking myself too for not buying one either, even if the head would end up to one I don't love their boy bodies are really nice and I could have gotten one in Mia pink for another doll and sold the head off.

 

about waiting time: Adelise arrived only after 1 month but it wasnt full set. Beautiful make up. GREAT body (the newest female 1/4 one) fantastic posability, greatly recommended

 

Do the gashapon dolls started to ship? im so curious for mine!

 

I think GEM's bodies are hard to pose naturally... My Coco couldn't strive some poses and I think her joints are kind of stiff. Anyone has the same struggle? Or maybe it's just the string being too tight?

 

I'm sorely tempted by the new cat boy but i'm also trying to be GOOD and focus on getting bodies for my floating heads this year.

Here's Gideon, my Tazz. I requested that they omit the big star on his face (haha) and I added a few freckles, darkened his eyebrows, etc. I love this silly wannabe rockstar boy. I've got to do a little work on the jointed hands I got for him - they're really lovely - and do a little more body blushing than he came to me with. His fullset has so many little outfit components that are great fun to mix and match. I think it's adorable how well his original wig suits him, especially with the Enchanted Doll eyes I got for him. I got him in the mousse white, it's a really nice "warm" white, he holds a pose very well and stands on his own pretty solidly. I had to have him in the first place largely since he's very reminiscent to me of Sam from Stardew Valley (Sam's my favorite... ) so there's not much more customizing I see him needing for now!



I'm eager to get these hands on him. It'll take some work though. His wrists are rigged with a very long hook (as you can see, some were included in that little baggie there) and the elastic won't pull through the forearm for easy replacement. Even unhooking/unlooping his original hands to begin with is something of a puzzle. But I'll figure it out. I'd like to detail them first, anyhow!

 

Gideon looks amazing and I can see the resemblance to Sam. Now you just need to get him a tiny guitar. Can I ask where you got those hands and how they work with the scale of the doll?

 

The weird thing about Tazz, I thought he outshined his co-star in the promo photos.

I got the hands direct from GEM of Doll! They were released in August and what drew my eye to the company in the first place. The scaling is just right! They will work with both boy and girl dolls. edit: I think I've come across some bugs? My picture couldn't load I don't know why I wanted to share my baby here but I couldn't so this post seemed like it was out of context.

 

If your picture is very big it won't show up, try resizing to 800 pixels, reupload to your image host and make sure the image address ends in jpg/png etc (for example imgur offers you the folder link in address bar but you need to right click image > copy image address and use that for it to work)

I think some websites like Flickr let's you choose a new size when sharing (I never tried it). But, pictures from a smartphone can be really large, so maybe resize to 10-20% of the original size.

 

I did try to resize the picture, however, the same problem still was occurred I will try resize the picture below 800 pixels to see if that's still the problem. Thank you for your help!

Was wondering if anyone has any Gem dolls in their purple they'd be willing to share?

Currently trying to decide between 2 dolls as my first and the purple skin tone is one of the last things I'm debating on haha

I just got a secondhand Olita head on a Carlos body! Super happy with the sculpt it's gorgeous, and was my first time honestly trying to make a doll stand lol, the only thing I'm sad about is that the tail can't be on him while I'm making him sit...

... What now, though! Out of my dolls I have the least ideas for him so far, even for the faceup I'm drawing blanks... It's harder to brainstorm when there are so few different faceups for the sculpt online...... Anyone has Gem of Doll custom faceups they want to share or have shared somewhere?

 

I'm late, but for future reference, I've bought three heads, a 1/4th doll, and several outfits/wigs direct from Gem of Doll. I've bought two 1/6th dolls through legenddoll. I haven't had significant issue with any of the orders so far (I'm only waiting on one more order right now which should come next month). The only issue I really had was mostly my own fault, though there was a little confusion due to a lack of consistency with how they refer to their resin colors vs. how legenddoll refers to their resin colors.

Editing because i forgot i had my own question to ask! Does anyone have any brand recommendations for clothes that reliably fit Gem's male 1/4 dolls?

 

Does anybody have any idea of any tan bjds that match gem of doll’s tan? Hoping that luts or myou tan might match, but I’m struggling to find any side by side photos

Gem of dolls is very quick with their shipment. And I had a great time with their customer service. It only took 45 days. I heard they are having more orders than right now but in my experience they are very upfront with their waiting time as well.

I don’t see a lot of jessen online so I was a little scared at first. But I like what I got and it is accurate to the photopshoot

Hello! I just ordered Taurus Olita from Alice's Collections during their spring sale. Really excited- but wondering around about the time frame that it might arrive. Does anyone have prior experience with this store? If so, how long did yours take to come?

 

I orderd Taurus Carlos from Alices Collections back in 2023 23th of september and he was shipped in 2024 the 21st of january! I got him in tan with extra arm and legs.
This ofcourse was awhile ago so not sure if its still the same

I really love the edward doll, tho I am a bit disappointed at the very stark difference between the concept blade hands and the actual doll hands, ill probs still pre-order XD I love the variety of faces!

 

I love the two new ones, both have such great expressions, the angry one on Edward must be my favorite, but the dismissive one is great too. On Mira the distain and shy faces are my favorites. I wish you could order the doll with all of them or at least two of them.

 

You can order the heads separate so you could just add that to the order.

I have to admit, i've never tried restringing one. Are they strung oddly?

Hi!! I've been looking into Gem of Doll lately because my wife quite likes them. I have heard horror stories a long while in the past of Gem of Doll having poor customer service and bad packing jobs resulting in broken dolls. Has their quality improved at all? Have your recent experiences with them been better than earlier years? They really have such beautiful dolls and fullsets..

 

I have two of their dolls and never had any issues with them, both were bought directly from their site and I was able to do layaway and change skin color to tan etc. Both arrived well packed and they're lovely and I have nothing bad to say at all. I don't remember what year exactly I bought my Nymph and Bmoth, but it was likely either 2023 or 2024 so pretty recent.

 

I have a tan Capricorn from 2021 that I ordered through Alice's Collections (acbjd.com) she was well packaged, though her box got a bit dented. She arrived in perfect condition. She also shipped pretty quickly. I only waited a month for her.

 

I'm glad to hear some good news!! Me and my wife really liked their fullsets, but I know they had negative buzz a bit ago. And that fast is crazy!! Being affordable, beautiful, and quick is an insane deal...

 

I received my Adelise on July 31st. I ordered the full set with blushing and everything. The doll arrived in perfect condition. The outfit was perfect and functional; it fit the doll well, and I put it on her without any problem. The face paint and blushing were flawless.Her eyes were like the ones in the photo, one honey-brown and one blue. Her hands were immaculate, and her entire body was carefully packaged. Even the box arrived safely. I ordered her through Alice's Collections. They sent it to USA, my courier service received it for me and they sent it to my country, Venezuela. If Gem Of Doll ever sells again Bmoth Three Eyes Ver's fullset, It will be difficult to resist the temptation to buy him too.

 

Their quality has definitely improved. I've bought four dolls from them over the last 4 years since 2020, and all have arrived quick with faceups and clothing being a near match to their product photos. My first doll was bought through gem's us site while the rest were bought via Alice's Collection (and layaway). I think Gem did some upgrading behind the scenes, as their team now seems to be doing far better compared to what it was like pre-covid.

The only one who I felt didn't live quite up to par was surprisingly my first from them. Clothing and wig didn't fully match n had some flaws, but the doll itself was lovely, and she arrived super fast from what I remember. And again, this was bought in 2020 so she's the only "outlier" out of the 4 who's the most reflective of old Gem. I really have no other issues or complaints since. I wouldn't have kept buying dolls (and clothes) from them if I did. xD
