@digi I do find him really cute well you can always ask the dealer like Alice's collection if the company can include it, but isn't that part of the doll itself? like an eye, or does the company see that as an add-on? anyway, it would be good to ask

 

It's part of the full set only sadly. The not full set will come with third eye only which is neat too but not as neat as tentacle would be.

 

Does anybody know if Gem of Doll 1/4 size outfits fit minifee girls? I've just been looking through different outfits and this one is so adorable. 1/4 bjd Spring outfit and accessories - www.gemofdoll.com Also, is the company not very popular? I'm just searching through Google and on DoA and can't seem to find much information about them, or very many owner photos.

 

Gem of Doll MSDs are the standard size, so they'll probably be too large for a minifee.
I've seen a Luts KDF wearing Gem of Doll MSD clothes and it seemed to fit well, if that gives an idea of the scale.

Hi everyone~ I'm diiyawn from Singapore & I'm new to this hobby.
Am posting this here because the first 2 dolls I'm purchasing are from GEM of Doll!
They are both 1/4 dolls and I purchased the full set with face-up.

Such a quiet thread, but I was wondering if anyone had opinions and/or pictures to share in regards to the ver.2 girl body? It says the height is 44cm, but I have also seen it listed as 47cm (!!) so I am curious whether it is indeed super tall or not.

I ask because the new mermaids are absolutely gorgeous, and I am considering Coraline (human). IMHO Gem really outdid themselves with the mermaid parts and fullsets! I like that the tail is compatible with a male chest part too.

 

Ooh, where did you read the tail is compatible with the male chest too? Because if that's true all my doll plans just changed, I'd love a boy mermaid... erm, merman.

with some places saying the body is 47cm tall, I think they might have copied the male body description or just duplicated the article using it as the base and accidentally forgot to change the height part?

 

Oh, having accidentally put the male height info sounds probable, thanks for the idea! It was only one listing that had that height, so that sounds likely. ^^

As for the male upper torso for the mer body, I noticed it mentioned on one of their Bilibili videos, and when I checked the Taobao listing for the body I saw an option to pick male or female for the "upper body selection".

 

Ooh that's so cool! Went to check listings at dealer websites and it looks like Alice's collection offers that option on their listing. Wonder if they could sell just the body alone or swap the head to another one... Nothing wrong with Coraline and Ilia they're absolutely beautiful, I just can't imagine either as a boy.

 

I really fell in love with Taurus Carlos (Beast Version), he's so beautiful just his blank face sculpt drew me in. I was thinking of getting him on Legenddoll for free shipping, thoughts?

Does anyone have images of what his body sculpt (human) will look like or similar to? I can't find any images or information on his body sculpt, even for his human version.

I'm pretty sure the human version uses their regular body but I too would love to see the beast body nakedly to get better idea about him. Carlos is so gorgeous, I'm absolutely in love with the beast version (and also absolutely furious that all gorgeous dolls are coming out this year when I don't have much extra money to throw around.) Gem of doll has been blowing my mind through this year, they just casually create a beauty after a beauty with no end in sight. I don't understand why they aren't more popular

 

Thank you so much. It seems he'll be quite slim (Not that I mind) but I'm glad they thickened his legs up in the beast version. I'm sure the sculpt will look so cute. I feel the same too, getting to see all the details of his beast version would be amazing; especially with that body blushing.

Yes, I'm having the same problem. All these unique dolls, Bmoth and The Dream Eater (Murch Beetle version) are breath-taking with fantasy elements that really interest me, more than other companies. Not to mention the pets.

It's so weird seeing such amazing dolls being released and no one talking about them. Their fantasy scupts are just... wow. It's crazy how quiet people seem to be about them!

 

I love Gem of Doll, their clothes are just so incredible! I love their full sets and wish I could buy them all.

I ended up getting the girl Taurus, human style because I love those furry boots. It was a hard choice... I wasn't a big fan of the Aries hooves but this pair's are much better looking, imo.

 

I love them but there are alot of horror stories about purchasing from them directly. So, I buy through sellers like Alice or BJDivas.

 

I have only ordered once from gem and it was direcr. In fact I think I went via talking direct to them from facebook lol. My order was non standard as well, I asked for a specific head on a body that wasn't the default body. They were super nice and very fast.
this was however several years back now.

I really love the ears on the new Taurus dolls. Looks like they're interchangeable with the human ones? that's cool. The horns and feet are amazing as well.

I'd love to see more images of the beast body. I might have to ask Gem on facebook lol.

 

I've ordered three times from Gem directly; twice for outfits and once for a nude doll w/faceup. They seem to reply fairly quickly on their Q&A board and I didn't have any issues. This latest order is also direct, so I hope it also goes as smoothly.

 

Alice's collections has picture of the beast body without clothes the only thing I'm unsure is that the other arm has that... thingy on it, it's really cool but I'm unsure if I'd like that in use all of the time. Wonder if they'd agree to add an extra normal arm if requested?

 

I bit the bullet and ordered Taurus Carlos (Beast Ver.) from Alice's collections! I brought his full set with body blushing. He really is the cutest little thing, I love his eye shape and the rounded nose with a little point is perfect.

I got him in tan cause he looked so pretty in that colour, it works so well with his fur but the white was so cute with the blending too. He looked like a sheep.

I thought the same. I decided to email Alice's collections asking if they could contact Gem and ask. Worse they can say is no so I thought it was worth a shot.

 

Good news! You can get the human right arm and hand with blushing as well as the human legs and feet through Alice's Collections.

Extra Options:
* Human right elbow + forearm + hand (with blushing) cost USD30.
* Human knees + lower legs + feet (with blushing) cost USD52.
* You can use this USD1 page to add them.

I've just bought both, super excited for my boy to be able to switch. This way he's able to wear shoes if I ever feel like it!

Yeah i'm not sure about the horned bit on the hand. The gauntlet bit is cool though.
I love his tail. I'm kinda sad the girl doesn't get a tail. She has such cute sculpted boots but a tail would be just *chef's kiss* lol.

If I had the cash I think i'd opt for the human legs and arm too. Keep the tail though, I do like the tail. Hehehe.

 

I ordered through Gem and got the human set Olita, but asked if I could add the horns to it and they said yes; it was 25$.

 

I saw Taurus today and fell in love! A full set is out of my price range at the moment, but if I can budget for it, I might get the human version with a face-up and body blush. I'm new to the company, how long is the usual wait time for dolls from them? I'd assume over 6 months.

 

I waited less than 2 months for my girl a couple of years back
Looking at the waiting room it looks like it's still pretty fast. Though of course, the brand new sculpts will tend to take a bit longer as they have more of them to do.
There don't seem to be any recent updates, the last update was March. But that was about a 3 month wait. So hmm.
I'd say "estimate for 6 months, be pleasantly surprised if it's earlier" is the way to go lol.

 

Thanks, that's a big help! 2-3 months is a lot quicker than I expected, but I imagine buying a new doll could tack on a lot of wait time. I'm still not sure if I should get him as I'm still waiting on another preorder from Alice's... but I'm really smitten with him lol!

 

Carlos's beast version is actually perfect for one of my characters, so definitely want to grab him! Going to be getting the human right arm, though, the gauntlet is a wee bit too much with the spike. Such a pretty pair of dolls, usually I don't like most Taurus themed things despite it being my star sign.

 

Also dealers will take a little longer because they're waiting for multiple dolls, not just yours. I ordered direct via facebook weirdly enough lol. Gem responds pretty quick over there.

 

Yeah, I assumed that would be the case! I'm okay with that, especially since I was anticipating like 8 months of wait time to start

 

I was tempted to get the taurus beast Fullset +human arm and legs so I can switch around.
Then I recognized I would have to restring him every time I want to change it..
Now I feel it would be better to decide on one version

 

I typically go for more realistic human characters but I saw beast Carlos and fell in love with his little face and his fluffy feet and for once I really want the fullset and I am so, so tempted.

 

Gem are doing a gatcha thing which looks like you get a special offer of $160 but you pick 3 dolls and they send you one of those three.
Could be a good deal if there's several you're having trouble chosing from.

 

I decided to take a gamble with the gatcha, my picks were Ade, Bmoth and Chris. We'll see which one I'll get in couple of months! I figured that even if I end up with one I'm not too fond of I do love the look of their bodies and have bodiless dolls who will gladly claim it for themselves so it's a win-win no matter what happens.

 

Well, I'm all out of doll monies, would be incredibly tempting otherwise
I gambled with Dolk's lucky bags at the beginning of the year, but I was pretty sure what I was going to get in that case. Was fun though!

 

i decided to take a gamble with gachapon also for 1/4 ^^. i choosed Ade, Sleepìng sunflower or Sige human...what will happen???XD

 

Does anyone know if it's possible to order the standalone outfits from a dealer like Alice's Collections? Or would I need to order direct from Gem of Doll?

 

You could always email Alice's to ask. I've asked something similar before and she contacted the company to get an answer for me.

 

Since this thread has been used recently, I guess I'll comment.
I've only ever had good experiences with GoD. I've ordered two dolls directly from them and two through Alice. I am waiting on my latest order still (Murch Human version), which I ordered through Alice because they had a better sale on him than Gem did directly, which surprised me, but it happens, I guess. I love every doll I've ever gotten from them, including the two I got second hand. Their fullsets are great, I think their dolls are adorable. They are easily my favorite company and I've never had a problem with them. My only problem is that I have a want list which is too intense for my wallet. (Currently really wish I could afford Yoly and Ade).

 

My gatcha doll was apparently shipped the 13th day already and I had no idea until today when I got notification from the local delivery company telling me that they had to forward the package to a different pickup location but I can pick it up from there so I'll be getting it tomorrow. Is it gonna be Ade, Bmoth or Chris? I'm so excited to find out! my first doll from this company too, can't wait to play around with a new unfamiliar body~

 

I ended up getting Bmoth! Which at first was kind of a bummer since he was my least favorite option but after playing with his style a little he's growing on me he came with blue whatever creature eyes with black sclera and I wasn't vibing with them so I swapped them to these random anime eyes I have and think they look nice on him.


Unpainted for the time being but I want to give him a mischievous smile whenever I get to paint him.

Lol, I wonder if Gem of Doll have a leftover stash of wacky eyes lying around, because I received some with my mermaid as well I'm hoping they'll fit into DollZone' Anson when she gets here.

 

@EagleVision1999 I think the eyes I got were really cool, just not the ones for him. I guess they indeed had bunch of them left and are putting them on all the dolls made now.

Oh also, I'm looking forward to their next girl, Nymph it's funny, I've been obsessed with the idea of getting one doll with elf ears but haven't found one I like yet and now they're teasing one who's about perfect for what I'm looking for. If I can get her in tan skin that'd be even better.

 

Sadly it looks like they're only offering Nymph in their two lighter colours, I would have liked to see a tan version! I'm seriously eyeballing Nymph as well. I sold my two SD size Asleep Eidolon fairy/elf dolls when I realised I didn't get on with that size and Nymph is very reminiscent of them but in the right size for me.

 

Unfortunately yes, but I asked them if it would be possible to order in tan anyway, still waiting for a reply and I won't be surprised if they say no but I figured that asking wouldn't hurt anything, if nothing else they at least get hinted that there is interest in darker colored dolls too.

Edit: they said it's possible! I'm going to place order for her later, I'm so excited!

 

I now have tan Nymph ordered, I'm so happy! now to check if any of my existing girl bodies is similar in size so I can start making clothes for her in already advance, she's going to be a Wood Elf!

My Taurus Carlos arrived yesterday. I absolutely love him.

Gem of Doll has definitely jumped at the top of my favorite companies list this year, they keep putting out lovely doll after lovely doll, wish I had more fun money to spend on them all, at the moment I dream of Carlos and I'd love to have Wall and maybe even Beaz... But one doll at the time, next one will be the tan Nymph who I already have in order because I want a doll version of my wood elf cleric girl.

 

Oh, he is gorgeous, his detailing is fantastic! I can't wait to get mine too. Congratulations on your new arrival!

 

@digi : This is my first gem of doll and I am in love with the craftsmanship. I absolutely love how Carlos's ears are magnetic. Do all gem of dolls have removable magnetic ears?

I really want to get Hades sometime in the distant future. My doll budget is completely spent until 2025 though. Hopefully he doesn't get discontinued before then.

Got him in white, with face up and body blushing, so he'll take a bit longer. He's the perfect doll for one of my characters, I just need to track down a wig and such. The detailing is so gorgeous and the tail is perfect!

 

Oh wow, he's detailed! For some reason the level of detail in the sculpt itself didn't register in the dressed up pics on their site; I'm impressed. I'm also really curious to see their zodiac offerings in 2024. I'm very hopeful to see Leo and Sagittarius dolls.

@Cryptid : This is my first gem of doll. How frequently do they release zodiac sculpts? Is there a certain amount each year or is it arbitrary?


Here is another picture that shows his tail better. It is ball joint and fully posable. I wasn't expecting that at all.

 

I'm not sure of their exact schedule, but it seems like they have a good handful made so far. ...and looking at their site again, looks like they already hit Sagittarius. (Not a centaur, alas.)

 

I made a wig for my Carlos.

 

I finally caved and put BMoth's fullset on layaway during the sale. I love the three eyed head, plus it's octopus themed which is really neat. Can't wait to see him in a few months.

 

My only Gem of Doll is their Capricorn Shipher from 2021 who was a limited number of 70 each of fullset and basic. They had an Aries doll a while ago too. I'm interested to see what their take on Leo is, since I'm a Leo. Problem is I'm running out of space, so I'll have a problem finding a display spot if I like it!

 

Can someone show me how well the 1/4 bodies pose? I got a 1/6 Abner and his posing is awesome and now I'm eyeing some of their MSD too but I'm worried I might get sad if they don't pose that well ^^'

Like, can they sit without any tilting?
