Wow, he is absolutely amazing. Can't find anything wrong with him. Initially I was not too convinced about some of the proportions, but on the latest pictiure it seems to be coming together really nicely. You have it worked out pretty well. Can't wait to see more
Wow, it's been forever since I posted. I haven't been able to work on this guy almost at all, but I'm trying to figure out how to fit in a little sulpting time every day- or at least every week since I haven't even been able to do that in ages. Poor neglected fellow. He must really resent my toddler! lol! Anyway, this is only a tiny update, but I'm thrilled to death to be able to post anything new. I tweeked his elbow joint again (I'm going to leave it alone now and move on to something else I promise!) and I'm pretty happy with how it looks and works now. I've also been shaping his arms, but that's still a work in progress. I'm having a hard time making up my mind as far as the right size and the type of definition I want. I also have to bulk up his wrist joint a little bit. I seriously sanded it down after it dawned on me that his hands were getting way too long, so now the balls aren't quite round and since I really reshaped his forearms, the balls are too small now, too. The rate I'm going, I think I'll be happy to ever get him finished. And thanks to all of you who commented on my Unoa! ) She took absolutely forever to plan out and paint, but now she's my very favorite. I think I like dolls alot better when they really make me work.
Great job! His arms are looking good, Annarchy! I've been thinking of tatting my own Unoa, but I'm don't have a plan yet.
He looks great!! I think this project is absolutely amazing!! Gotta say though, aesthetically, I would have chosen to give him bigger joints at the top of the legs. When a horse moves their legs forward, they pull the muscles which seem to be part of the torso (but are more like how shoulders are) forward. Like in this picture: http://www.eaudrey.com/myth/images/Centaur.gif It would also give it a more "human-like" feel, because our legs start at our hips, not at our crotch. But I don't know how achievable this would be balance-wise and such and such and such. I've never sculpted a doll yet. Not to discourage you, of course! You're doing a fabulous job! I really look forward to seeing how this gorgeous centaur develops! ~*Mystaia
Oh my gosh!! This is awesome!! You have so much talent. I actually have a centaur planned for my next project.
I know, old post but...did you ever finish him? Pictures, we must have pictures! You do such wonderful work. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, old post, but a great one! This is such an interesting project and I would love to see how it turned out! You are so talented! Please share some recent photos. Thank you.
