Aesthetics First Faceup - need some advice !

May 18, 2018

    1. Hi there! I'm still waiting for my faceup tools like pastel, acrylic, eyelashes to arrive. But I couldn't wait until that so I've done a little practice with only watercolor. I would really love to have some feedback on this and some advice on how to add paint evenly on the lip with watercolor.

    2. I don't have any experience using only watercolors on the lips, so I'm afraid I can't offer much help with that! Pastels will be good to use for the lips/blushing instead once yours arrive, they're much easier to work with and achieve an even wash of color. You did a great job on the eyelashes! And I love the use of stars for eyebrows, very creative :D

    3. Very cute! I think your definitely on the right track. Once you get some pastels to help give the eyes, mouth, nose and ears some depth, the only thing is layering. Layering the watercolor helps build up the pigment making your lines crisp and the colors deep and saturated. :thumbup great job

    4. it looks great for the materials you used! I agree with the other users, pastels will be wonderful for blushing the face more!

    5. I love the eyelashes! I still learn how to paint them myself xD
About the lips - what I do is that I first add some pink/lip colour pastel in the middle of the lower lip and in two small concavities of the upper lip and then use the watercolour (applied with a thin brush). I usually use two colours of watercolours - first light, then dark. Later, sometimes, a little dakr (e.g. brown?) in the two opposite corners of the mouth, to add some depth.
      what I mean is this:

(and I'm sorry, I know the eye makeup is too heavy... my skills with eyes are terrible and I know it :D

    6. I have no experience with watercolor paints but used pastels and airbrush. The advice I can give is to start light and build up, sealing in between layers to protect your work. I found that I always put on more color than I wanted in the beginning so I would use less than I thought I really needed and I looked up where to make certain areas of the lip darker to give shadowing. Also, I would use blue painter tape and cut into shape I want to protect the inside of mouth from stray paint and the lines outside of lips. Looks really good for a first time! Can’t wait to see more
