First BJD Arrived! Little Monica Little Harmony Irin~

Gosh I can't believe how little time it took for her to get here! I ordered her literally a month ago tomorrow! I didn't think I'd get her for another month or so. Super amazing.

She's my very first BJD, after adoring this girl for four years, I finally ordered her. It doesn't feel real that she is sitting with me at my desk right now. I could not love her more.

So on with the unboxing!


Suck a pretty box~


So cute to get a little gift pack! The free eyes I got are the ones the is wearing in the later pictures. I already have two pairs of eyes (one of those being another gift pair but from Dollmore when I bought her clothes) but these ones are so lovely I might use them as her main pair. Also, the C.O.A is beyond cool, Little Monica really payed attention to detail with making these. The little golden plate is such a good addition to it.


She was packed really nicely around her body and face, but no bubblewrap around her wrists or ankles which had me a bit nervous, but she still managed to arrive unharmed


I was in awe when I unwrapped her. I have never touched resin and boy it felt really sturdy yet looked so fragile. She was a lot heavier than I thought she'd be! It was very cold this morning so she felt like ice.
My cat, Katy, was enjoying the cardboard box throughout the whole unboxing~


Here she is all dressed! All of the clothes and the wig are from Dollmore. I can't get enough of this wig, the way it fades to an ashy blonde at the ends makes it look very realistic. Her eyes might be a bit light for her (the pair I actually purchased from Dollmore are a very dark grey/blue) but I'll enjoy them until I can do her faceup. She doesn't have a name yet, you would've thought I'd have come up with a name for her in the four years I've wanted her but nope! Suggestions are welcomed

@eugenio-ruspoli I'm not entirely sure, but it won't be anything bright. I'll probably stick to purples/greys/blacks as her colour palette and give her some simple winged eyeliner I have to wait for the sealant I ordered to arrive first though.

@ker246 ahh thank you!! when I was ordering all of her clothes I would copy and paste different tops/skirts/socks/leggings/shoes together to see what wen't well together, so your kind comment means a lot

Ah the socks are the coolest thing I totally agree. The texture on them in so chunky and cute~

 

I think I have a name for her, I'm letting it sit in my head a bit before I fully make up my mind, but I really love the name Wednesday :B

The sealant I ordered arrived today so she's all sealed (with Army Painter Anti Shine Matt Varnish) and ready for me to have at her with pastels and junk. The sealant is amazing, it was the only one available in NZ that I could find and I'm so glad that it worked magnificently. Gonna try some body blushing before I have a go at her face just so I can get used to the texture

 

Thank you! I blushed her entire body last night, stayed up waaay too late haha I was just so excited to be working on her. Gonna do the face today

 

I finished her!! Took a lot longer than I thought it would just because of having to take a family trip for a few days in the middle of working on her. I finished her up a day or so ago but I wanted to wait until I could have a small photoshoot with her during the day to post anything. Also I have finally found a name that I really like, Wednesday


If I could redo anything it would be to soften the eyebrows, but this was my third attempt at them and I was happy enough with them to leave it be I'll post one pic I really love from the mini photoshoot below and I'll make a separate post in the photography section~~

Oh god it was a while ago now, but yes ems was the only option available to me as I live in New Zealand she took maybe a week to get to me? Enjoy your new dolly when she gets to you!!
