Feedback for ebay user MagicTailor.

Feb 6, 2007

    1. I am waiting on a pair of boots from MagicTailor. I bought and paid for them on the same day. It has been a week and I have sent them two messages asking for an idea of when they will be shipped and have not received a response. I understand that a week isn't that long of a wait, but they should remove their "we will respond usually within 10 minutes" note on their store.

So, since they can't be bothered to answer my questions, I will ask here. About how long from payment to receiving is it for people?

    2. I think it may vary a lot from order to order. When I bought from them, it took about a week.

    3. I'm going to update this and say now that I will not order from magictailor again. It's been more than 2 weeks since they agreed to exchange the necklace for the one I ordered, and I haven't heard from them. Even if the exchange comes through, the bother wasn't worth it.

Update: Magictailor is not responding to any emails from me, and I never got the exchange.

    4. I'm glad i came across this topic as i was just on the point of ordering some stuff from Magic Tailor, it would have been so nice to have a supplier i could use here in the UK but i don't think i want to take the chance. I'll stick with the slower delivery times from my tried and trusted suppliers from Hong Kong//Japan/USA etc. Hope you all get your stuff.

    5. Hum...10 days ago I ordered 2 pairs of sneazkers from MT. Til now, no package in sight. So I emailed them this morning, and got an instant reply of "we've sent it out on the 15th, plz wait for 3 more days, if they're still not there we'll resolve the issue"
I hope they'll arrive one day >.>;; but I'm kinda a bit worried reading all the problems people got with them.

    6. I've never had a problem with them. The only caveat I'd say is that I wasn't happy with the quality of the knitted cardigan I got from them. But shoes-wise, excellent.

Of course, I don't notice really how long things take to get to me unless it's over 3 weeks, and I don't really ask status questions until then. They've never hit that limit and I think i've ordered about five times from them over the last year.

    7. Yeah, I ordered about 7 pairs of shoes. There were shipped supposedly on the 15th, and I have not seen them yet... I'm not worried yet though, if they shipped it cheap then it may take a while *shrug* I just hope it gets here before I have to file a claim.

    8. So far I had 2 transactions with MagicTailor. There will NOT be a third one.

      The first:
Weeks after my payment I've sent them 2 or 3 emails asking about my items.
      No response.
I opened a claim through PayPal to get MT's attention. They sent my items,
I really thought this whole thing was a misunderstanding or so.

      The second (and last):
Weeks after my payment I've sent them an email asking about my items. The
      answer on 4th April:
I checked on paypal and found that the payment was received on the 4th
of March. I am very sorry about the messing up, it has happened once
before. Hope it will not happen again.I appologize again. I will send you the
items first thing tomorrow morning. Thanks for your understanding and your
      patience.

      Since then NOTHING.
I again opened a claim through PayPal. This time I think I will get my money
back from PayPal instead of receiving the items.

I will NEVER again (try to) buy from MagicTailor

    9. Yay! my shoes did come in and they did fit! so it looks ok for the shoe department. They shipped on the 13 or 15? and I recieved them on the 27th. FYI I supposed for those wondering about shipping times I guess. *shrug*

    10. Wow you received them and you're in USA O___O But good to hear they fit and all ^^
      I'm still waiting ;_; (and I'm in France....hello there, neighbour UK :| )

    11. I truly sympathise with those having troubles with MagicTailor. I bought from her twice and had no problmes with her whatsoever. My first purchase was the end of October (sweater and 4 pairs of hightops) and then again in March, a pair of boots. All arrived in relatively good time(I don't recall but less than a month) and a satisfactory sale for me. If I'd seen the feedback I see now I might have not bought the boots in March though! I lucked out from the look of things.

Looking at the feedback, it seems she bit off more than she could chew at Christmas and, all of a sudden, this year she's had problems. Why she hasn't slowed things and resolved them so she can continue on the same level she was before, is anyone's guess but I'm sad because her stuff is great. I hope everyone gets their issues resolved though. I'd hate to see anyone lose money on this sort of thing because it ruins relationships we have with sellers as well as our trust we must put into said sellers.

      Cheers,
      LM

    12. I was going through ebay last nite & tot i wanted i want to buy some of their items. Thank god i need to get my aunt to do the paypal payment & she ain't around. Phew. Glad i read thro this post before i actually made payment.
Hope those who had bad transactions with them gets solved soon!

    13. mine is an older issue, from before magictailor changed their managing account from ennicjessy (i think) to magictailor.

i ordered a pair of their SD converse-esque shoes and a pair of SD dress shoes in october, did not receive them after 2-3 weeks, informed them, said to wait another 5 days, and if it still didn't arrive, they'd send out a new package.

i informed them again (several times) when my stuff didn't arrive and never heard from them again.

i opened a paypal dispute in the end-middle of november, never heard from magictailor, and escalated it to a claim in the beginning of december and got my money back the next day.

i would've liked to get my shoes rather than a refund, because i really needed the shoes. D:

again, this was before they switched accounts, and maybe there were majorly crossed wires. i had hoped to try ordering from them again this year, but seeing the feedback here, i'm rather wary.

for those who did not get their items, it's better all around to file a dispute and claim with paypal when your time starts to run out, if there has been poor or no communication.

at least you'll get your money back. :\

    14. Oh...!I'm so sad to have read all that...I've bought a choker,a pair of socks and boots from magictaylor last night...I've chose them 'cause they're in uk and I'm in Italy,so they're not too far...and I've payed them immediately...now I'm worried.I'm always too confident.

      Update
The items arrived quite fast less then a week ,the chocker and boots are nice...i think the socks are the wrong size.
I've asked a pair of over knee socks...but they seems to be short, but they're cute.
But i'm not sure I don't have my doll to try yet!

    15. So far I've had 2 transactions with Magic Tailor with no problems at all. I first ordered a pair of the sudo-converse hightops and a tee-shirt. They arrived with me 3 days later in a padded envelope, undamaged. And today received a pair of jeans and a belt, again in a padded envelope without any damage. This order took 4 days, but we did have a bank holiday during that time.
I'm sorry for the people who have had problems, but I will keep buying from MT until I get stung. Its just nice to have a supplier in the UK.

    16. It happened the way I have supposed.

I got back my money from PayPal without any reaction from MagicTailor.:x

    17. Awww...I'm still waiting for my shoes, it has been a month now. I guess I'll write again and if I don't get an answer I'll open a dispute. Too bad I likes the shoes ;_;

    18. I had order shoes with MagicTailor and it didn't have any problem. I have purchased from magictailor on May 9th and received my items on May 18th. I'm quite happy with the quick delivery and may buy from her in the future.

    19. I had another great transaction with MagicTailor. I'm sure I'm not the only one, but several times I had contacted them to carry canvas sneakers in the size that would fit my large boy. When they started to carry them, they contacted me and I bought a pair off of ebay right away! They arrived in about a week and I'm in the states.

    20. I've also had a good tranasaction with them.

It seems to me that buying from them is a shopping version of Russian Roullette. >_> There doesn;t seem to be any pattern to their bad behaviour.

    21. uuuh ooohh.
i ordered and paid for a pair of sneakers from them may 1.
i haven't heard ANYTHING from them, it's been 3 weeks. time to contact them. *_* glad i saw this thread!!

    22. Hi

Well I have just received three pairs of sneakers from Magic Tailor. Not only did they keep me informed of the progress of my order - they arrived when they said they would, but the sneakers are brilliant as well. I have always had excellent dealings with them! And will continue to deal with them
      !:)

    23. Seems a lot of people are getting great service with MT...that's good.
Still, I'm really sad my experience was so bad. Shoes are still not here (ordered on 15th of april) and I submitted a dispute, which wasn't answered yet...

    24. I purchased a sd blue jeans in March, the 21,and never received the item.I got no answer on my email.I will never more buy in this shop!

    25. I had a transaction with them back in Feb or March - i don't remember exactly. It was for a wig and boots.

I waited like three weeks, after two unanswered e-mails I filed a dispute with paypal and they immediately refunded my money.

I left them neutral feedback because they did refund my money. But they didn't answer my e-mails and as a customer that bothers me.

Won't buy from them ever again.

    26. I bought a pair of high heeled GIRLS colored and styled shoes from them about a month ago. They arrived quickly and well packed with no damage. The quality's not great, but for the price I can't complain.

The problem? They're TOO BIG FOR THE DOLLS ADVERTISED! They claimed in the auction they measured 7.5cm long, which would fit my high heeled volks feet, the shoes in reality measured a whopping 10cm long! D: Far to big for my girl doll! (But I bet they'd fit BOYS. :x Who makes girlie, pastel colored high heels in boy doll sizes?! Even if they were for Unoss and the Model Girls, they should state that! Not that they fit "most 60cm dolls!") I messaged them and informed them that they were far too big for my doll and not the size advertised and asked what could be done about it. Never a response.

If I can't be sure their things will fit my dolls, I cannot afford to deal with them, and will not deal with them. It's sad, they have some cute stuff, and the quality and price are excellent.

    27. I've bought from them on three or four occasions - and each time I've received the items within three days (yes, I'm in the UK) and the quality has been fine. I'm sorry to hear about all the problems.

    28. Just got my package today after about a week and a half since I ordered them. Items were just as described (2 pairs of MSD sneakers) but they never answered any of my emails :sweat

    29. ...I just bought a pair of boots from them about 2 days ago...i m very worried now :( my payment is been accepted, but they didn t reply to my pms ( and i was also asking about a wig...) >.< i hope everything will be ok...my poor boots...my poor money T_T

    30. I will leave a negative on ebay and ask my money back...10 days and no reply...

    31. FWIW, folks, there is a notice up on the Magic Tailor eBay shop:

Odds are that if you've bought anything during July, you won't get a refund because she's actually stated that items purchased won't go out until 1st August, and PayPal/eBay will likely say that you should have checked the notice first before buying. :|

Bear in mind also before you buy anything from Magic Tailor that much of their clothing and all their footwear are cheap rip-offs of DollHeart, Ajumapama and Luts stuff. So even if you decide to take your chances on buying from them, you're basically supporting a bootlegger.

    32. I have also had problems with this seller on Ebay. I ordered two pair of shoes, one was in stock and one was not. I waited one month for the pink pair to come back in stock. Several email and a dispute later no contact. When I theatened to dispute with my credit card company and have the charges reversed, she finally sent me my second pair of shoe.

    33. When i decided to buy my shoes (on 16th july) there was only this part:
Hello everyone, I am currently away and I will be back in 15 days. You may still purchase the item but I will dispatch them the first thing after I get back on the 15th July.
      So i bought, i sent the payment...payment accepted...and I waited.
      Waited.
      Waited.
Then yesterday i left a neg after a lot of mails sent to magicT...
And then i read the "new part"...
So...if u ARE not able to check ebay, u DON T sell...or u wrote it in the auction...cause i don t check the personal page of every ebay seller...every day to see if maybe he will return in november or else.
Cause i choose him, because it is in UK and i m in EU, and i need those shoes SOON...but i HAVE TO WAIT 1 MONTH???
      >.< it's insane!
I mailed him that i WANT my shoes as soon as he return, and then i could withdraw my feedback...

    34. I've ordered from them, and had minor problems, but it was all dealt with quite well. I ordered a wig, a pair of SD dress shoes, and a pair of SD Converse-esque shoes. I received them all in about a week, but they sent me MSD-sized converse instead. I figured it was a simple mistake, so I messaged them. They apologized and said they had sent me the proper size. I waited a while (a few weeks) and hadn't received anything, so I emailed them again. They said that the package must've been lost in the mail, and that they had sent another. I once again waited (over a month this time), and had yet to receive my shoes. So I emailed them again, they once again apologized and said they had sent another pair, and this one I received within a week.

The products were all very nice, and they were very pleasant in correspondence. I guess you're just taking your chances ordering from them.

    35. Today it's 1 august...is he back or maybe he wrote another message on his ebay page like: "i will come back in year 2120"...still no reply and i bought them about a month ago... =.= I am so disappointed!

    36. I find myself quite worried now. x.X;

I just bought 6 items from them and have been waiting for them to return ( said they were away until 30th of July) so I'd know combined postage cost info...obviously I haven't paid them yet but this is quite distressing - wonder if I should risk it or not, but insist on a tracking number?:?

    37. don t pay them =.= ask before and wait a reply! they look like a scammer to me!I don t care of all the pos feedback they have...if someone doesn t reply to me or send me back my money or at least my shoes is a scammer!
They said ITEM WILL BE SHIPPED ON 1 AUGUST...and no reply at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
      >.< i m so angry!!!!!!

    38. Yeah, I think I'll give them a further week and if there's no reply (to the three different messages I sent them, x.X; ) perhaps we should both get on to paypal or ebay if you haven't already? Perhaps force a refund out of them and I'll claim my purchases invalid or something...it is sad though, as they do have great stuff - DOT shoes are so very complicated. v.v;

    39. I filled a claim T_T
      but nothing yet...

    40. On the day my claim solve in my favor, he reply!!!
He said he shipped my shoes...but paypal gave me back the money, so i said to him that i will resend the money as soon as the shoes arrives ^^

    41. Oh, that's great news then - I hope it turns out well this time. ^^

Me and my father made a wager over if he paid them, my shoes would come, and they did within a few days and all in great condition, so I thought perhaps I should share that too. Magictailor sent me an email apologizing for their long absence and they have been very pleasant all the way with me. I guess they do just get very busy sometimes? *_*

They did miss out some shoes so I emailed them straight away about that, but they apologized again and said they were just out of stock and they'd be sure to send me a pair out in 20 days.

Edit: Also, I noticed they never responded to my Ebay PMs, just the email I sent them by copying the address given on their "Contact us" section. (on each item's selling page) - maybe they have an email problem?:?

    42. ...No item yet, no reply to pms...
WILL NEVER BUY FROM HIM and i will tell everyone!

    43. I have ordered three items from Magic Tailor on Ebay and have received all three. Two pair of stockings and a pair of MSD size shoes. The first two times I received my items within a month (about 2 weeks time, regular shipping time from the UK) but this last item, pair of stockings, it took a month and a half (ordered at the beginning of July)...but I finally received them (after reminding them about my order).

I have had positive experiences with Magic Tailor in receiving each of my orders (even eventually) and can't say I've had a negative experience with them. They work for me.

I just thought I would add my expeiences from them.

    44. She didn't send out my items until the 6th, after I opened a Paypal dispute. And better yet, I still haven't received my boy's jeans yet. I PMed her and she said that she could either send me another pair or refund the money....and I asked her for another pair. *_* I really don't like the seller but I REALLY want those particular jeans....

    45. He said he shipped my shoes...nothing arrived!
I pmed him and no reply...paypal refund me with a claim...

    46. I've bought quite a few items from this seller and my feelings are mixed.

The clothes themselves are lovely and fit my SD boy well. The seller was friendly and fast to respond whenever i contacted her. I just had a few odd tihngs happen - like one of the tshirts i ordered she said was out of stock and wouldn't be restocked, but it was still being advertised on ebay a week or so later. Hmm. and she forgot to put one of the items in my envelope, and i had to chase quite a few times to finally get it sent. she claimed it must have got lost at the post office but didn't actually answer my question: when was it posted?

In summary I'd probably order from her again, but not if i was in a great rush to get my stuff!

    47. My local post office told me that the reason that a lot of Magic Tailor's stuff isn't arriving at its destination is because she never puts her return address on the package. A return address is required by law. Also, her handwriting sucks, which could be another reason why her packages don't arrive and since there is no return address, they just go into limbo.

I've had several transactions with her and though less than perfect, the problems have been resolved.

    48. :|

She still hasn't refunded my money. And the paypal dispute already settled. (I entered a dispute back when she wouldn't ship the stuff. By the time she got around to shipping it, the dispute was already coming to a close, and it's now over.)

      So I'm screwed. ****ing M.T.

    49. This is a very interesting thread and it is important that we know good companies and bad companies. There is a lot of money being poured into this hobby and one must be very careful. Thanks for all the information.

    50. BTW my boots never arrived...and she didn t reply to any of my mails...

    51. A while back she promised a refund and then I got nothing for like 3 weeks afterward. Eventually I contacted ebay customer service about the problem and they said they would look into it. I guess they contacted her or something because BOOM, I get another email from her promising again that she'll really send the refund this time.

Aiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii yai yai, is all I can say.:|

    52. ok i'm going to have to warn everyone not to order from her.

I ordered 2 pairs of shoes, trousers and belts from her in July. I was moving house at the time so i had no internet access properly for 4 weeks. Working on a share computer at the library i contacted her every few days.

after a month i thought something was wrong, i still hadn't received my pruchase so i contacted her. During that week she was polite and replied quickly and said she had sent my order on the 4th August. Then said she would resend the order.

So i gave her another week. It still didn't arrive so i contacted her again.

Then i was unable to get to the library for 2 weeks or so as i was busy and was fixing up stuff at home.

So once i got my internet back i e-mailed her and messaged her everyday and filed for a claim on paypal. But paypal said it's passed 45days and refuse to do anything.

My order has not arrived after 2 months and the last 3 weeks she's been ignoring all contact, ebay is still disputing but nothing from paypal.

All i can say is i wasted $80 on this transaction and this is the worst transaction i ever had from ebay. So unless you can bare with disappointment don't order from them.

I will never order from them again that's all i can say.

    53. Same thing (almost) happened to me. I bought some boots from them - it took over a MONTH to get here, and then twenty minutes out of the package they broke. I wrote to them asking politely (but firmly) for a refund or a new pair of boots - this was about two months ago - and they said they'd send a new pair. They are STILL not here! I'm never ordering from them again.

    54. I ordered a pair of sneakers and a pair of trousers from Magic Tailor. On both occasions there was no communication or updates but both items arrived in about a week.

So I haven't had any real problems with them, I guess their service is a bit of "hit or miss".

    55. Bought boots from them.
And then got an e-mail saying they were out of stock and if I wanted them in black. Funny thing is that more than a month later that item STILL appears in e-bay with 7 items in stock.
This are the boots: White Long boots for luts SD 60cm BJD Super dollfie

We have exchanged some e-mails, all perfectly nice if WAY too late and when we reached agreement to cancel everything... they disappeared. I've opened a Paypal complain today.
Another crappy thing is the 1st e-mail I got from them was dated as 2001, which means I only saw it 1 week later by sheer luck (and because I have my inbox as clean as possible) at the end of my inbox. I warned her about that issue and told her how to avoid it. But still, anyone that never got a reply may want to check their oldest mails. They may be at the end of your inbox.

I don't recomment them at all. Bad communication even when they owe money/items. Mails sent late and with bad date which makes it difficult to see. And, what's even more strange, selling items on e-bay they know perfectly well that they don't have.

It seems they sometimes are OK and sometimes not. I knew that when I ordered and I decided to risk it.
From experience I recommend not risking it. Not worth the work afterwards to get your money back if something fails.

    56. I ordered 2 pairs of boots. One arrived close to a month ago, the other never turned up. All attempts to contact the seller have been unfruitful. I will never again buy from these people.

    57. Oh my! I wanna buy some items from her too...
I didn't know before about her items didn't arrive for some customer so I going to read her feedback and comments on ebay many customers said that they never receive thier items from her.... [she got 31 negative feedback onher ebay online shop]

Wow! I don't want to increase that number...

and for regular comments said they'd wait for thier items around 2 monnth!??

      I should beware...

    58. Another one chalked up to the negatives, I'm afraid.

I've been waiting 2 weeks for shoes that I've ordered and still nothing. I did see one neutral feedback when I placed my order, but they had so many positives that I had thought it was an isolated case - of course it had to be that only after I've paid that the whole slew of negative feedback came up. *sigh*

I've sent her ebay messages and also emails, but so far, have got no response. She did leave feedback for me very promptly after I'd paid (a day after payment, but weirdly, only for one of the two items I'd bought). I just want those shoes!!! T_____T

    59. Thanks for the warning, I actually considered ordering from magictailor. I'm so glad I didn't now!

Yes, and I'm surprised the post office even accepted them. magictaylor is based in London...I'm amazed a post office in the UK would send parcels with no return address! I regularly use three different post offices and all the staff *always* check my parcels have a return address.

That kind of thing is becoming increasingly common on eBay and it's very annoying. I suspect it happens because these people advertise the same stock in several places. eBay really need to crack down on that.

    60. A commonality I have been seeing throughout this thread is that the UK customers are getting their items, albeit late, and the folks outside the UK are hit or miss. I am shocked that any post office would accept a package without a return address and even more so that a seller of this high volume would send anything out without one in the first place. Wouldn't you want your clothing/boots etc to be returned to you if the customer's address was wrong?
I guess you would, unless you didn't want the customers to know where you live/work out of....a bit shady to me.
