Feedback for ebay user MagicTailor.

Feb 6, 2007

    1. I'll say this. I'm not happy right now.

I had first won two auctions from Magic Tailor in November. I was promised that the items (boots and a pair of leather pants) would be shipped out ASAP.

I contacted Magic Tailor in December to ask about the items because I have not received them. Again, I was promised that they'd be sent out ASAP (due to Christmas they've been busy, as I was told).

I contacted them again in January since I never received any items. Once again, items would be shipped since they were "lost in the mail." (Unfortunately, by this time, I was screwed out of filing a claim against these people.)

I recently asked (It's now February and I need the money for bills.) for a refund and I had to send an invoice via Paypal for that refund. They have yet to pay up.

I'm furious. I got screwed out of 48 bucks and I want my money, dagnabit!

    2. well crap I wish I saw this earlier, I am waiting on an outfit that supposedly was sent out last Monday...they don't have a tracking number for me..which I am not sure why..since they used Register Royal Mail?
I was told that I would have it within 6 days..well its been 7....guess i better get on their tail about it...:?

    3. Hm, surprising. I've bought from them before and not had any problems at all... maybe this is an isolated case o.o I hope they get back to you!!

    4. Catdancer: I hope you get your outfit; the only reason I went with MagicTailor to begin with was due to the feedback they've received. I knew that they were an overseas company, but I've never had packages lost or anything until now.

Lynsey: I was thinking that it was an isolated event. I checked Toolhaus.org (Very helpful; everyone and their mama should use it!) and apparently, I wasn't the only one who had a bad experience with not receiving items. :/

    5. It seems to be just recently they have been having problems....
      here is my story..

I am now having some discrepency from them, I bought an outfit from them on 1/20 {over $100!} and received a message from Mia there saying the choker was out of stock on 1/25 and should be in the following day and would be sent out, the following monday 1/29.
I then emailed last week asking if there was a tracking number, and i received a message saying they didn't have one and yes it did go out on 1/29. so I still haven't received it, so I emailed them today..got a message back tonight saying that they checked their records and that it went on 1/22 and that I should wait a few more days and it should be here..
well I wrote back and told them there was a discrepency, and sent them the whole info as I wrote above plus the message I received from them. I told him I would wait a few more days and then I would take further action.. I will just contact Paypal and Ebay and get my money back ..I am not waiting too long....I am not sure why they don't have tracking numbers if they are using Registered Royal mail....

    6. I have heard of other cases where MagicTailor has failed to ship the item (lost in the mail), or had delays and excuses for not shipping, but in most cases I believe items do arrive.

    7. Catdancer: I'm sorry that you're having that much trouble with MagicTailor. That truly is a bummer. :/

twingling: Good grief! I wish I knew that before I "bought" the items I never received! Well, there's a bit more to the story now, which I shall share now.

Apparently, she got off her kiester when I had left negative feedback. The following message was sent my way: "I have been waiting for the money to be transfered to my paypal account from my bank account so that I could refund you. Please withdraw the feedback and get your refund."

My reply was that I'd like my refund first, then I'd consider withdrawing the feedback (Note that I asked for the refund then would consider withdrawing the negative feedback.).

Edit: Received my refund in full. Finally!

    8. wwooohoo Congrats!!!!

I have more to my story too, since I emailed them with what I posted before this is the message I just received:

      "Hi there,

It has been long enough, I think they may be lost by the post office. I will send a new set tomorrow and let you know the tracking number.

      Sorry about the delay.
      Regards
      Ennic"

and this my email in response:

I am going to be honest here, and say I know of the negative feedback you have recently received, and have been in contact with others who have waited for items since Nov. and they still have not received their items. You have promised their items, then said they were lost, and would send others...and as of today still have not received their items nor refund.
So it is odd to me that you would so quickly offer another set.
I would like a refund of my money in total instead of a replacement.
We can be civil and do it this way between us..or I can go to Ebay and Paypal and start a dispute.
My paypal id is [email protected]

its a shame as I was really looking forward to seeing this outfit..and if we can do this between us, we can also void out the auction and not leave feedback.

      Melanie

    9. Thank you; it was a huge sigh of relief. Now I'll be able to put the money into the bank to help with finances (and pay Luts for a couple of things)!!

I hope you get your refund quickly and more painlessly than I did!

      ~Marie

    10. I received another message from the seller saying that I should not only look at the 3 negatives left by one seller but look at all the hundreds of good feedback they got...and that the person that left three negatives was given the chance of tracking their packages and that they have had people try to get the items for free by stating they never got them or by clicking "payment made" when it wasn't..and that he thought I honestly have not received my item.
      {I would liek to know how come they got tracking numbers and I was told there wasn't any}
and he also said that they don't give refunds as part of their procedure and that the only thing he could do is send me a replacement and if I wanted a refund then I could send it back and ask for a refund...yeah right....I know the protocol..I can ask for a refund within 45 days after sending payment and not getting anything.
He also said he couldn't find the reciept for the Registered Royal mail so he could show me it was sent.. but he could check his "records" and tell me it was sent on a completely different day?? how odd...and I thought if it was registered, wouldn't it have a tracking number? I have bought stuff before from the UK and it was sent Royal Mail and I was a tracking number...

This is just too odd...so I told him I knew the protocol, and that I didn't have to accept a replacement..so i have opened a dispute...I was told by someone that it took almost three weeks for their stuff to arrive...I am not waiting that long...
and I really wanted the outfit too...:(

    11. Wow, that's awful! I guess I'll stay away from them then....I like to buy in the US anyway. I hope everything works out for you Catdancer!

    12. update: the seller is sending out another{?} outfit.. with a tracking number, I received the number today and it is not yet in the system..we will see if it ever gets in there.....they know I have opened a dispute and won't hesitate to upgrade it to a claim if need be.....

    13. catdancer: Oh trust me, they do give refunds (I can attest to that I never got my items; regarding auctions and whatnot, I've followed "honesty is the best policy."). Basically, he gave you the same crap I've heard as of late and that's bullocks. Now, let's see if the tracking number works...

AerynAerie: Good for you; I wouldn't recommend this "seller" to anyone after my experience with them.

    14. I had one good transaction with them. My item arrived on time and well packaged.

But frankly, after some of the stories I've heard about them, I wouldn;t risk it a second time.

    15. Hi Sweetie
have to admit I have had a couple of canvas boots from them OK ...no problem at all
..not covering for them but our post is:barf

but a bit about our crappy Royal Mail YES we can sent items fully insured
so thats no problem ,if its sent Registered your item will be insured , but the tracking dosnt work outside UK ..
so thats little more than useless and even if its sent, its more like 7-10 days so as far as post goes , thats not unusual from the UK
I have sent things Registered to the US , and by the Letter Post and Small Packet
and they are quicker ...and the standard reply from the UK Post is
...well its OK in the UK but when it gets outside the UK we cant tell how long it will take :? ...I wouldnt worry too much if it hasnt arrive yet ...but you could check with them to see if it was sent :)

    16. well I just checked the number and it says that is being processed for delivery abroad.
What I don't understand is why they couldn't give me a tracking number in the first place, and why is there such a discrepency in the dates it was supposedly sent out...it just made me very wary.
and then their attitude wasn't the greatest either, telling me they only refund if I am not 100% satisfied with the product and I return it. I told him that what if it never showed up, would I not be 100% satisfied? and that because of his tone and attitude I wasn't 100% satisfied right now...and that it didn't matter what it said in his listing, that buyers are protected by ebay and Paypal.....so at least its showing up in their mail system...the dispute will stand until I have the outfit in my hot little hands.
I won't buy anything from them again, and its too bad because they had some nice stuff and decent prices....:|

    17. I KNEW, I just KNEW someone else was having trouble with this person. Here's the post I made about it in my LJ...

In all my time using Ebay this was the most baffling transaction I have ever taken part in.

On December 27, I was told I could return to work after two months of my position being on hold (very long story). I decided to celebrate by purchasing some nice clothing for my dolls. I had seen Magictailor's pants on another doll and was very taken with them. On top of that, she had a Christmas sale going on wigs and shoes. It was after Christmas so I messaged her and asked if the sale items were still on sale. She responded with a joke, I was more chuffed than before, very much looking forward to making a purchase.

I bought a pair of pants and a three item lot (two wigs, and a pair of boots), requested a total, received the total and paid via Paypal. The entire exchange took less than 48 hours.

About ten days later, I received an envelope in the mail from Magictailor. I remember being surprised that it reached me in the same timeframe I generally get packages from England- it was just after the Holidays and the mail here doesn't usually speed back up until February.

I was rather puzzled when I opened the envelope and discovered only a single wig. Not only had magictailor not informed me that she was split shipping my items, but they were not split shipped in a logical way, say the shoes in their own package, the pants in their own package, the clothing in one package and the wigs in another. You get the idea. Not to mention that there was no other package to be seen, nor a notice of a sudden stock shortage. So, I politely messaged the seller about this matter. It took her about 48 hours to answer me, said answer being that I should get back to her if the other package didn't arrive soon. I know the British post has pretty strict rules about what constitutes a small package AND there very well could have been a holiday backlog clearing up at customs.

Two weeks later, it hadn't showed up, so I messaged her again, asking if she had heard anything. She said she would look into it. So I waited…

And she never did tell me anything about the first package. Around the 27th of January, I opened a Paypal claim. It had been a month. A month was plenty of time to have told me something.

She did not respond to my claim. I decided to post another message via Paypal before escalating the claim.

This time, she responded very quickly, within eight hours if that. She told me the package must have been lost in the mail, and that she would be happy to replace the items and send them to me via registered mail. I agreed to this on the condition she send me a tracking number as soon as possible after she shipped the items.

I didn't get one, and I didn't get one, and was about to escalate the claim when I got a card from the PO informing me of a package which required a signature. This was on the fifth. The next day, I got a message from Paypal with the tracking information. Basically, I got the number after the package had technically arrived. Never mind that this was the sixth, and the stamp on the package states it was shipped on the first.

This is not the happy ending however. The pants I bought were white, "were" being the operative word. When I got them out of the bubble envelope, they were covered with sewing machine grease. Not to mention that they are not nearly as nice as the pair I had previously seen. On top of that, since they were shipped in a bubble envelope and not a box, the boots are a smushed, albeit smushed symmetrically so the damage is not that obvious.

I had to bleach the pants to get the grease out.

I am getting ready to neg her.

    18. Getting ready to neg her? Are you joking?
Though I realize that not every indi seller goes about things the same way I do, I have never dealt with anyone like this and hope never to encounter it.
If I EVER sent anything to a customer with sewing machine grease stains I would expect nothing less than a replacement pair or a full refund.
They shipped boots in an envelope????
People have to understand that customers are why we are in business and keeping them happy is part of the job. Customers get excited about their orders and getting something excessively late and/or broken is a HUGE disappointment.
You must treat each buyer with the same respect and degree of service as the next. In my oppinion, this includes treating each order as if t were your own.
I would be crushed if any of these issues happened to me.
I do hope you ladies get your items or at the very least, your money back.

    19. It took me awhile to summarize how pissed I was in a way that was under 80 characters and didn't involve any expletives. *nodsnods*

      The icing on the cake?

I got the pants off the drying rack just now. The rivets rusted.

Said pants are now in my repair pile. They have been out of the envelope a total of six hours. Marcel has not even tried them on. At the very least, they need another bleaching and major repairs, but DAMNIT Marcel is going to wear these pants and they are going to look fabulous on him!

I can see shipping shoft shoes in an evelope, but really, they make tiny boxes. The boots would have fared much better in one.

Bottom line: I should NOT be fishing findings out of my sewing box right now. Not any way you slice it.

    20. Good grief!

I'm sorry that you're having such a hard time, saintsavin! That really sucks.

    21. Wierd, I ordered a pair of pants from them on Febuary 7 (just two days ago!) and received them today.:o I've never received anything so quickly before, I had to recheck the date I won the eBay auction just to make sure I wasn't confused. Maybe the PayPal disputes that were filed scared them straight?

    22. oh dear.. my first time was ok~ the boots came quite fast!

but now i've ordered 2 boots.. and it has been 3 days since i bought the items so i went to ask her..

she said the hound boots were not available while the SD one was. so i asked her to send the SD one first..

    23. I've ordered one pair of shoes from them without any problems...
      I'll probably stay away from them from now on. It's a shame, because I was surprised and happy about how fast I'd received them~ ^w^;;;

    24. Uh oh ... reading this makes me just very nervous. I recently bought a pair of cross boots and received a message from Ennic two days ago that they got the wrong boots delivered and I have to wait another 10 days for getting them restocked. I didnยดt think anything of it then, but now I am getting second thoughts.

      Not funny :(

    25. Well, I'm glad for those that have received their items; it stinks that others haven't.

Apparently, this person gets the wrong stuff sent to her on more than one occasion and sometimes forgets to tell the customer that she's out of stock on some items. Personally, I don't like that and I don't like it when people get strung along like that.

After this debacle, I hope that she gets her act together and that customers that have been ripped off will file PayPal claims (Apparently, that's the only time they'll act nowadays.). *sigh*

    26. i also contacted ebay about their practice of giving refunds only if you were unsatisfied after recieving items...they were appalled about the situation, wanted to know the transaction number, seller the whole bit..
maybe they will investigate these people and warn them about their practices.
I have checked my tracking number and its passed customs and is in the postal system now.
Now I have to see if the item is the correct one, and is complete...my Paypal dispute still open..until I am satisfied...

    27. Hi

Well I am surprised by all this and sorry that you all have had bad experiences with Ennic.

I have had THREE perfect transactions with Magic Tailor.

I have had custom sweaters from her and she was excellent at my questions and replied swiftly. I also bought pink boots from her and when I requested could she make a sweater to match the pink - she couldn't have been nicer. I sent pics of styles I wanted and they are perfect.

Am I the ONLY satisfied customer here?

      I am SO surprised.

    28. catdancer: Good for you in contacting eBay! Let's hope something gets done!

jazz: A few of the unsatisfactory customers are in the US; there could be a myriad of reasons, but one that is possible is because we're on a different continent. I'm glad that you got your items in excellent condition (At least you got your items.)!

    29. I ordered two pairs of shoes from MagicTailor. It took awhile for them to get here, but at least I got them. I'd probably be a little nervous ordering from there again, though.

    30. Thought I'd add my experience to the list. I'd heard bad things about them only AFTER I ordered, but fortunately everything came all in one piece and seems to be well-made. No stains or anything. I will say shipping took a little while (a week and a half) but I'm on the far west coast of the US, it's to be expected. I'm just surprised they didn't send me a tracking number for the registered airmail. :/

Would I order from them again? I'm not sure. Hopefully they're cleaning up their act after so many bad transactions with people.

    31. All I can say about that is WOW.
Sorry this transaction isn't going well for you.

    32. i had placed an order from magictailor just last month. the order was for a pair of boots and pants. i received a package from them in about a week and instead of the items i ordered, i received two sweaters. i emailed ennic about the problem and got a fast response. i was asked to send the items back (they said they would pay for the shipping) and my items would be sent out right away. i did get the proper items i ordered and i just figured that mistakes do happen but i'm sorry to hear that too many are happening all at once. their feedback was so great at the time, that i figured my incident was the first and the last. i love my purchases but i'm not sure if i would order from them again. we'll just have to see.

    33. I am so sorry this happened to you! I have bought from MagicTailor twice and never had any problems, they were very quick to ship and have great products... I hope it all works out for you!

    34. Update: I received my outfit today and it is kickin!..I need to get one of my girls in it to take some pics. I am impressed with the quality of the item.
I have left them positive feedback, emailed them and thanked them for making good on a potentially messy transaction, and have closed the dispute.
Would I buy from them again? I probably would..but I would have to do some serious thinking on it.

    35. oh dear.. maybe i'll not order from her again.. D:

but i had 2 good transactions but one of the cross hound boots will be delivered later.

    36. I've had a postive experience like the others listed here. I live in Seattle area and ordered a wig that has become my boy's main hair piece. I ordered it when I also ordered so other small pieces from other places and was shocked to see that it beat them all home. The other items were from the states, and this one came from England?!?

I would probably most likely give them another shot.

    37. i bought a belt and choker from magictailor and they were shipped to me fairly quickly, i have not had any problems with them so far....

    38. Well, I'm going to add to this now. Back in January, I ordered a shirt and a belt from them. Shortly thereafter, I was told the shirt was out of stock and might be up to six weeks to be restocked. I told them I would wait. And so I waited the six weeks and a bit longer, then contacted them again on March 6th. No response. A week later, I contacted them again and mentioned I was considering getting my money back from Paypal. Only with that did they respond (in a mildly rude tone, I might add) that they'd sent it.

Late last week I received the shirt, but the belt was not included. It was mailed the first day I contacted them (March 6) as they had stated, but I'm thinking maybe it would have been good business practise to let me know that when I'd first contacted them. AND to mail the item when it first came back into stock instead of after I nudged them. To their credit, the shirt was very well made, and even looked better than in the sample pics.

At this point, I don't really much care about getting the belt since it didn't cost very much, and I probably won't bother leaving negative feedback on eBay (perhaps neutral - for the shirt, anyway - but I've been burned with an unjustified negative by doing so once in the past). I just know I will NEVER deal with this company again. I'm posting this just to add my two cents, and it's about as close to negative feedback as I'll probably get. This thread is negative publicity enough.

    39. I dealt with this seller around the same time the originator of this thread did and it went okay. I bought a pair of jeans that I do love but they came with holes in calf area, like zippers from boots that tore holes in them? Does that make sense? The jeans are tight so I assumed the zippers caught in the fabric and tore it. They aren't that bad and they don't bother me that much, but they are obviously not new

    40. No, I don't think you're the only one with a positive experience. I bought some jeans and a belt from them, actually got here surprisingly fast and in great shape.

    41. Yeah, I'm actually of the mind that they're disorganized rather than attempting to purposely scam people. And like I said, the shirt was really nice ^_^ But I still think people should just keep these things in mind when they order from MagicTailor and feel free to nudge them if that's what it takes to get your stuff.

EDIT: I decided to let them know about the forgotten belt. They were very apologetic, so I expect I'll get it soon.

EDIT: Received. No problems. But I still don't think I'll order from them again. We'll see.

    42. I am totally fed up with this seller now. Ordered boots and stockings at the beginning on February. Ennic wrote me the boots are not available and would be delivered later. Fine. Boots came after two weeks, no stockings. I had bought another pair and asked for the stockings to be send with them. Boots arrived, no stockings again.
Two more mails on my part, then the notice they were sent. No stockings two weeks later. Another mail, this time with the threat of complaint. Instant answer, the stockings were sent again, this time with registered mail. You guess what? No stockings one week later! And three days left til my time for a paypal complaint ran out.
I asked for a refund of my money then, again with the threat of complaint. Two days later I got my refund from MagicTailor, but all that leaves a VERY bad taste. Which is a pity, since the boots are terrific, and no one else is offering stockings right now.

      :(

    43. Wow, I can't believe so many people are having such major problems with MagicTaylor...o_o

I ordered a pair of MSD sized boots from them last week and they arrived last night. They also came in a bubble wrap envelope, like someone else on here had mentioned before, but they weren't squished or anything...I don't really mind either, since they're so tiny...and their feedback was at 99.6%, so I guess most people aren't leaving negative comments...?

I'm definately gonna re-think buying from them again now though, after seeing how they've treated you guys. I might eventually, but it won't be anytime soon..

    44. I ordered a wig from them in October, and it arrived maybe a week or so later. However, going by these, I don't think I will ever order from them again.

    45. Im really sad I have to add another seller to my RAT list. Bummer! :( Thank you all for keeping the rest of us informed. The more we all know the better. Im sorry for the problems some of you have had to deal with. Keep fighting the good fight! Love to all T.mouse

    46. I will continue to use them until they burn me. I've had three successful transactions so far and I'm discussing the possibility of a custom commission clothing set from them. I'll let everyone know if that goes through cleanly and I get my stuff. ^.^ They claim that if I order a custom piece it will be done in 2-3 weeks. We shall see.

I also don't have a problem filing a Paypal claim if necessary.

    47. I bought 3 items from them at one time(boots, pants, and choker), everything came quick. I would have liked it if the boots were in a box or something, and if the pants and choker had been sent in better bags (without holes) cause everything in the package smelled realy strong of boot rubber, but I have aired it all out and its all ok now.

    48. I bought a pair of boots and a necklace from magictailor. The packaging for the boots was a little flimsy but nothing was damaged. They sent me the wrong necklace, though. I wrote to them and they agreed to exchange it for the one I ordered and refund my shipping for sending back the other one. I'll post again in a week or so with the final outcome.

Overall, I think this is an okay seller. I agree that the problems people have had are probably more a matter of disorganization than the seller trying to scam anyone. So if you like the products they offer and are patient enough to deal with the problems people have talked about, should they arise, it's probably worth a try.

Edit: Please read my follow-up post in this thread. I personally wouldn't advise buying from this seller any longer.

    49. This thread caught my attention as I just recently get interested in their stuff and add this seller to my favorite!
But I haven't really start buying from them yet.
Thanks for this information. I'll pay attention closely.

    50. I've ordered quite a lot of stuff from MagicTailor in the past and had no problems, but then I'm in the UK. However I decided not to buy anything from them again after discovering that quite a few of the outfits and boots they sell are actually cheap ripoffs of DollHeart stuff. There was a thread about it in General Discussion a while ago.

    51. It's sad to see MT being so disorganized D:! I've had several transactions with Ennic and they've not been problematic. The only 'issue' I had was a minor one - a pair of pants ordered did not fit my CP boy at all; they wouldn't fasten. ;-; I mentioned that, and was offered a full refund.

I really don't think MT is purposely trying to do any harm; I'd have to agree with the 'disorganized' bit...that's far, FAR more likely in my mind.

    52. Mmmm. I kind of want some boots from them? Should I buy insurance for the package or something? Actually if it got lost, they would have the receipt needed to make the claim, wouldn't they? Well, hm. Hm hm hm.

    53. I would do it, but then, I would still buy from them. I've purchased several items from Magic Tailor, and only had a problem with one item. :9 I find them to be, in general, pretty darn good as a seller.

    54. Magic Tailor sent me boots with a big stain on them. When I emailed them to fix the problem, they said fine and then never gave me an address to ship to. I emailed them 4 more times to try and get a mailing address and then finally just removed the stain myself. I will NEVER buy from them again!

    55. Sorry to hear that you've had so much trouble with them.

But I've bought something myself from them and the item was delivered within a reasonable period of time. (about 2 weeks) But I first checked with them if the item/color was still available.
I would do business with them though...

    56. Oh No!!! I just bought some shoes!!! ; ; aw crap >< at least if something happens, I know to do something quickly. I'm glad this was mentioned.

    57. I am contemplating buying the SD16 cross boots for my future boy... Are any of the boots people have been having problems with these particular boots?

    58. I bought 2 cardigans and 1 pair of hound boots from magic tailor about 3 weeks ago and they came exactly on the date they said they would. everything was packed neatly and safely and they left me feedback on my ebay account promptly after that. i will definitely buy from them again.

the boots look exactly as the pictures they have on their site. the style and cut was neat and looked realistic, they took their time making the details and no stitches were out of line, they did not cut corners with any of their products.

    59. I bought two items from Magic tailor in Febuary of this year, including a pair of trousers.
The trousers were being advertised as SD13 boy size, and there were pics of them on a Luts boy doll.
However, when i got them they wouldnt even go up my SD's legs! They were tiny! So i tried them on every doll in the house... and the only doll they would fit is my hubby's Luts *Girl*.

I emailed Magic Tailor about the trousers, as i really liked them but wanted the size i had paid for. I enquired about sending them back and getting a replacement pair... i waited a week and when i didnt get a reply i emailed again. I waited another week or so and emailed a third time... but still no reply.

I figured because the trousers didnt cost me much i'd suck it up and sell them as Luts girl trousers (and luckily a freind thought they were perfect for her girl!) but i was very dissapointed.
The other item i bought from them was perfect in every way... but i wont be buying from them again. If i buy something i expect to get what i payed for!

    60. I have purchased from MT multiple times and have always gotten great service and quick delivery.

I have thought about this and it would seem they have people pulling merchandise who do not know what they are pulling. If something had been misfiled and the puller did not know the products, they would pull the wrong item, thinking it was correct.

It is very regretable this company is not reliable.
