feedback for DOLKOT

Sep 23, 2007

1. sorry, but no. at the moment dolkot does not offer heads only. :(

2. that is horrible! please let us know how this has turned out! :(

3. hey. me again. (sorry, i'm just really obsessed with this doll i want, and hoping dolkot will shape up soon). :|

just wanted everyone to know - in case anyone else here is following the dolkot issue - that i wrote to them, again, hoping to get a more straight answer.

here's what i wrote:

hello. i want to buy a doll with white skin. i wonder, if i get him, and his skin looks "normal" and not white, can i return him?

i only want this doll if his skin looks white like your photos.

thank you!

so, hoping that they'll reply soon. they're usually very polite on the q & a board, but not very direct...

4. Perhaps with the move completed, they can get back on track with things. It seems someone has been waiting on a pair of ears since last year! o_O

The half-price makeup offer for May is quite tempting, though.

5. They've still completely ignored my post on the Q&A board. Dunno if I should bother posting again or if I'm just wasting my time. Everything recent has been replied to, except my post which was made 5 days ago. >_<;

6. I posted here a few days ago about Dolkot delaying sending the doll, and, well, today I have him :) Actually, as soon as I wrote them on the message board that I'm planning to open a dispute with Paypal, the doll was shipped *immediately*. Worked like a miracle, really.
And he is great. Absolutely great. He poses perfectly, his resin has quite a lovely color - and his face is beyond beautiful. He is a limitation doll, though, and I suppose he was made before they started having those problems with color, so, he doesn't reflects their state of affair now. He might have a few tiny chips here and there and he does have a broken finger but that's okay with me. He's really a beautiful doll, and I'm very happy with him.
I was very lucky, I think, that everything ended so happily for me. I hope Dolkot will solve their problems very soon, and I really, really wish good luck to everyone who is waiting for their orders or trying to solve problems with Dolkot. Thank you, everyone, for the support!

7. try writing them again, for sure. and make your letter to them public, if you feel comfortable with that. i think that may influence how soon they solve your problem, because then it will be out in the open for all their other customers to see.

8. yay for you! thank god someone has had a (semi) good experience. seems money (or threats) talks huh? and congratulations! i can't wait to see pictures of your new doll! :)

9. Dont their dolls come with a warranty card?

10. hmm...do they? does anyone know?

11. okay, so here's what they wrote back a couple days later:

Hi!

It will be white color! If you order white color.

So, don't worry about it.

Of course, there will be little different because even we think it is white

sometimes other people think it's not white.

But, usually it will be a white color. So, don't worry about it.

Thanks.

again, not so helpful or direct. so who knows...

12. :doh
"It's white, we think it's white even though other people don't, but it's white. Kthnks buy our dollz nao!"
:| :sigh

13. I really wish they hadn't sacked their old english rep, she rocked :( The new guy is kinda like the new luts guy

'hi, we're right you're wrong now buy our dolls and put up with our crap service'.

yeah right

14. Hi everyone, Sorry for showing you some pics of my doll. They did have made you a bad impression of DK. Anyway, I think they will get improvement later I think. So I send my doll back and ask for a refundment. Finally, they pay my money back. So I think they are still reliable. I think what us should do is waiting. May be a half year, maybe one year.

15. actually that is helpful, i believe theyre referring to how some people dislike maybe a pinky white, or the difference between images on the computer and real life product.i dont believe were being fair about their responses. as they cant speak english well they are likely to make mistakes.

16. Maybe we are being demanding sometimes in comparison to their actual English capabilities.. but even when we bend to adapt to that it doesn't mean they're not constantly avoiding customers problems, or questions..

I've been watching this thread for a while because I thought something was up with Dolkot a long time ago. And I was going to purchase one of their Limited Editions, but when it's from a company as fishy as they've become I don't feel safe even spending that money.

A long time ago I asked them about the Limited I wanted, if they would take layaway, because just a few days before I posted a girl had asked the same question about a different doll and I figured it would be fine. I waited a while, and they blatantly ignored me for 3 weeks. so I reposted in even simpler English, and they still ignored me, and never replied to me.
At this point, my friend, who was going to contribute in paying for the doll because she wanted the couples set of the two to share between us, decided that even though she wasn't directly involved in the purchase she would ask Dolkot about the same thing...without saying she was involved in my purchase in any way. It's been months since we asked with no reply, and the other day they finally contacted HER after still not saying anything to me, saying that they would take layaway and put them on hold for her if she told them how many months etc..

I'm so unimpressed by them ignoring me that I don't even want the dolls anymore.. x_X..

17. Hmm, this skincolor thing is quite interesting....

I have recently seen a white Dolkot boy - he is one of their one-offs, ordered before the move, but arrived only at the end of March. We compared his skintone to my NS Hound, they were almost the same, with my (two years old, very slightly yellowed) Hound being a bit more pinkish and the Dolkot boy being on the yellow side - he was definitely paler than the pics I've seen posted in this thread.

While his skin is pale as white should be, and he has arrived with some gifts as an apology for being so late, more than two months of wait for a doll that was supposed to be on hand is too long for my tastes...

18. i don't think this is the issue (at least for me). i wouldn't mind at all if there were some slight differences (like a pinky or yellower type white). but the photos i've seen of supposedly white skin, are of a "normal" colored skin darker than the average doll's normal skin color. and the reply from them regarding that problem was that their "resin colors have changed". so i just wanted to know if we could expect approximately the same shade of white shown in the photos.

i'm totally fine with their limited english, and i feel very appreciative that they try to communicate well, and quickly. however it is the photos of the dolls people have recently got, that to me, speak louder than words.

so, before i drop the $600. i just wanted to ask a lot of questions, and do a lot of research, you know? i hope i didn't sound unfair. ;)

19. i didnt mean you specifically being unfair, and its not that youre fine with the limited english, its that sometimes its difficult for them to explain what they mean.i feel bad cause i know how hard it is to explain things in a language you barely know, sometimes even in one your very fluent in. to be honest, i hadnever heard of an issue until this thread, and there arent enough people with problem dolls to deter me. and there are tons of people who have a kiss, and from what i can tell most of them are fine. also, if someone received a doll that is a normal skin, instead of white, its possibly just a mixup. the reason it looks darker is because obviously the dolls arent exactly how they look in the sites pictures. i believe that if you really love the doll, youd be willing to taqke the risk. especially now that theyve finished their move, and are setled in. im madly in love with bera, and i will purchase one, unless things seem to get much worse.

20. oh yes, i totally understand. it is very difficult to explain things in a different language i'm sure...maybe you're right. i feel the same as you about abel. he is definitely the one i want. and i too have been thinking of taking a risk. but as it is, i think i will wait just for a couple more months at least. i can't wait to see your bera, and i hope it all turns out good for you. ;)

21. ahaha, thanks you! im also excited, but, due to my insane list of wants, she wont be here for a little while, so in a way its good, hopefully all their orders can be perfect by then. and i wish you the best of luck with your abel.

22. Oh man, this is so disheartening :( My next two dolls were going to be Daisy and Lai, and I really wanted a Leaf. But this many dolls arriving with yellowed resin and cracks? Is it really only the boys that are having these problems? (does that seem strange to anyone else?)

23. It was me with the "natural color" doll instead of "white skin" and believe me, I asked them like five times sending comparison pictures if that was supposed to be white skin and if they didn´t have anything fairer. They repeatedly told me that was their new "white skin" tone. At the sixth e-mail complaining with pictures (head was fairer than body and after a closer examination, the body had a couple of cracks in the wrists and knees), they told me to ship back the head and they´ll send me a body matching the head color (the head was like Volks natural pureskin, the body was darker and yellower and they didn´t really match) That was the best alternative they gave me.

So I´ve shipped the head back to them and I´m waiting to see if at least I can get a girl whose head matches with her body. I´ve given up on the white skin thing. I love the Bera sculpt too much, so I´ll take her as a natural skin girl.

I´d say, if you want a natural skin color doll, you have it easy: order the white skin option. It´s a nice shade, just not white. If you really want a genuine white skin doll, wait and maybe they´ll produce real white skin with time or pick another doll company. Right now, their "white skin" is like Volks natural pureskin. I have no idea how their new "natural skin" looks.

24. That is very disappointing. They should've replaced the entire doll for you. :|

Much as it would be nice to get that half-price faceup offer for the month, I'm going to hold off on ordering for a while as well. There was one person on the Q&A board who was actually happy with what they received, so maybe this is a sign of improvment?

25. I'm shocked. o__o Yuna's in PERFECT condition, and I dunno... she's a WS, so I could take some resin comparison shots.

26. Thank you for coming by after I PM'd you, and please please do take photos! That would be so helpful. <3

27. We're having exams recently, but I'll ask her once we're done with the papers. :) I'll be keeping track of this thread too. Cracks and skin tone aside, does anybody have more information about whether their new casts yellow faster than the old Korean ones ?

Edit:

So basically we would like to let them know that:
1. Dolls are arriving cracked, broken, yellowed and rusty
2. seams are not well moulded
3. this is not the quality we expect for USD550
4. Skin tone naming is misleading, we would like resin match pictures
5. Please improve your services because many people are put off buying your dolls because there are so much negative feedback
6. Customer service is bad, people are not receiving responses even after weeks or months.
7. we love your dolls, but please improve your standards because we don't want to spend so much on something that isn't worth the money

Any more ?

28. Here's the resin comparison shots. On the left is the Dolkot White skin, on the right is Dollmore normal skin.

29. Oh no! I was wanting to buy Day! He looks so pretty on the sight. I just asked something on their Q&A board, but I'm afriad I might have made it confusing to a non-native English speaker.

I wrote:

I really love the doll Day, mostly because of his beautiful white skin. In your website's pictures his White skin is very pale, but I learned from a feedback topic that the White skin that people have been receiving doesn't look like that.

They have said that you call it the new white resin, but it isn't very white looking to me and most people I know. In the comparison photos I have seen between the site's images of Day and the buyer's images of day the new skin is much darker.

Will you be replacing this new, darker White resin, with a lighter White version that looks more like the White in the photos? I really love the doll Day, but he needs to be as pale as in the sites pictures.

I would love to buy him, but I am afraid of the negative feed back I have received on the skins color.

30. Uh, which is which? :sweat

31. -palmforehead- Oh GOD, I'm stupid. SORRY. T.T
On the LEFT is dolkot WS, on the RIGHT is dollmore.

32. this makes me really sad. i had planned on having the next doll i get be a dolkot doll because i think all of their molds are sooooo beautiful. I like them so much i can't even decide which one i like best! but i'd love to have a hara, or day or yun or abel. the fact that their service and quality makes me wonder if i should just wait awhile.

to be honest i had wondered why i never see them for sale here in doa but i guess now i know. Everyone is to scared to buy one in the 1st place. :(

also, i have a whiteskin angelo and he hasn't changed color as far as i can tell in a year and he is MUCH paler then the 'white skin' i've seen here.

33. Thank you so much for the comparison shots, kitteh!

34. Dolkots 'white' skin has always been a little confusing to me @_@ I've got an older white skin kiss head, from back when Dollmore still sold them... and at first I would have SWORE to you it was normal skin. My freind got the body an had a NS Dim head on it an it was a perfect match.. then we found out it was actualy white?! Thou it's almost the same colour as my dollmore kids >.<!

35. I think this thread has completely put-off my wanting to buy Daisy. *_*

36. I think I have good news. This was the reply I received.

"Hi!

We are working on white color now!

I know many customer disappointed about our doll this time!

We are trying to make more lighter color now.

So, please wait little more.

New feedback will show up soon!

Thanks. "

It's good to know that they are working on it now. :3 Hopefully they can shape up. ^_^

37. I wish you all the best. ^_^

38. That does sound like good news!
I shall be waiting to see what they do...I did in fact buy something else with the money I was going to spend on an Abel now, but I would be able to buy him this summer if they do come out with an actual 'white' skin as opposed to the 'pale normal' their so-called white skin is right now.
=D

39. I bought an MSD body from dolkot a couple months ago... i ordered WS, and it's kind of yellow. It's actually really similar in color to another WS doll that I have, and I've had her for almost two years now and she's yellowed considerably.

But, color aside... the body was very dirty :( I was extremely disappointed that they would send out such a dirty item. Not to mention I'm going to be selling it and it's a little ridiculous having to take apart a body to clean it, when it's fresh from the company.

40. That's a shame. Did you e-mail Dolkot about the problem?

It's good that they're finally acknowledging their issues with WS. Let's hope they change for the better.

41. their vampire fangs always confused me to,i think it just paint tsks

42. meh, I don't think a dirty body is worth harassing them for. but i figured i would mention it here since it is worth consideration when you're deciding whether or not you should buy from them.

edit: actually now that i think about it, it might've been a NS body that i ordered...

43. any new info on dolkot?

44. Rats. I was just about to put Dolkot Ryu on my 'definite' list for Big Dal, but I think I need to keep looking after reading all this. They're much too expensive for this kind of poor quality control and problems.

45. it's so sad because I really want a Adam T.T reading this make me really think wether I should purchase him or not...

46. Oooh, this pisses me off SO hard! D<

I fell in love with Loon, Kiss, and Hara, and I had them on my list to buy, and then I told my friend that I had my eyes on a couple Dolkot dolls and she showed me this thread... So I read it all the way through, and now I'm furious. I am so angry, I want to cry.

At first, I though, 'oh, well, maybe it's just that the people who had a lot of problems are more outspoken than the ones who had successful orders,' but I quickly ruled that out. And then I thought, 'I can just get a head and put it on another body!' But then I learned that they don't even offer heads! What the hell is up with that?!

I really really love white skin dolls, and I would have gotten white skin from Dolkot, but now, I've put them on the 'completely out of the question' list, and they're gonna stay there until I have PROOF that they've made significant improvements. It's nice to hear that they say they're gonna work on the quality of their white resin, but somehow, I can't help but think that that's just a lie to get us off their backs, and that still doesn't but to rest my fears about the rest of the body have cracks, spots, oiliness, etc.

I shall be keeping watch on this thread, and maybe chiming in every once in a while. If Dolkot doesn't f.ucking shape up, I'm going to make sure that anyone around me considering a Dolkot doll knows the truth.

And to all who have received their dolls with no problem, good for you! <333 C: And the those who have had nothing but issues, my heart goes out to you. F.uck, I'm crying right now because of all this. I hope things get better. D:

47. Hmm another note to throw in... it seems you have to untie the elastic in order to unstring the bodies... or at least the body I have... it's looped through the hands instead of using small s-hooks or anything T_T;;;; seriously not appreciated. Doesn't affect removing the heads or anything, but with how dirty the body showed up, I don't appreciate having to go through even more work to unstring it and put it back together just to clean it >.<

48. A slight necro here, but the new limitation models of Bera and Loon are in WS. I asked on the Q&A board if this is the new WS resin color for all their dolls, and this is their response:

Basic doll's white color will like as new limitation model!

49. well...they do a two month layaway if that any...err good news in the dark clouds >.>

50. I didn't know they had a layaway option as well, so thanks for the info. :) I'm disappointed with the new WS since the older batches look way better, but I love Bera and Lucifer too much. ^^

51. indeed lucifer and the male party of god caught my attention, but yea...to much risk >.>

52. Oh No! I really wanted to buy a Hara. Now I'm thinking about changing my mind. :(

53. hmm... And what do you think about their limited dolls?
Those couldn't be in such a bad shapes because their main artist makes everything for them... she would've seen if there were any injuries on the doll. So those are specially treated. Or not?
And what about their delivery time for these limited dolls? Does anybody know how long it takes? Because these are already ready beforehand. They just have to send them out...

54. If I recall correctly, someone was saying earlier that they had ordered a limited doll and they were taking FOREVER to ship it out, and once DK did ship it out, they didn't provide a way to track it or something like that. Not entirely sure, but I'm pretty certain that someone said that. Maybe it was one of my friends.

55. Bake_Neko
I ordered a limited doll from them, and I also thought that it shouldn't have taken long :) Well, it took them a month, and I'm pretty sure it would've taken longer but I started freaking out and threatening them with paypal dispute. After that it was shipped immediately.
But the doll is so beautiful! I'm still amazed with how delicate the make-up is.

56. ak~ this thread has made me think twice about Yuna and Adam ^^;;; I hope things have improved though... Because it is the WS which I am interested in!

57. I was about to order my Dolkot, seriously, I have a face up artist lined up. Everything.
But I thought, I wonder what they are like and I checked out this thread...
I wont be ordering from Dolkot...Which is a real shame because I adore the Yuna cast,

58. Wahhhh, this thread makes me very sad. I just saved enough money for Dolkot Day, but I fear of disappointment.......

I'll have to rethink if it's worth risking.

59. Argh, I really like Dollkot molds..
but it's my first doll, and now I'm a bit scared to order one ._.

60. News for Dolkot's feedback~

I ordered an White Skin Bera around 20th of May, and she arrived on 27th of June.
Since they advertise for such fast shippings, i asked them few times during the process, about the shipping time. their replies were polite, and _realistic(?)_ in the way they actually told me the reasons for the delay.
(i ordered elf ears and they were delayed, so i asked and they told that the doll was ready, but the ears were still in the making.)

Her Resin colour is Just as white as my DZ and Luts white skins. so no complaints there. :)

She DID have few scratches in her right shoulder and few very minor ones on her butt. these were very minor flaws, for me atleast. o.0 (sorry for no picture) also, her left thumb was broken, but well, i consider broken fingers as an universal accidents among the hobby...
i sent them a photo of the broken finger and asked for a new hand. (this was yesterday, so i didnt get a response yet)

as I sanded her a bit, coated and sueded her like all my other dolls too, as they arrive, there was no signs of any scrathes left.

She also had her Face-up done, and all her seams were sanded. (didnt order either one of them) There also were three beanies, and extra eyes included as a gift. ♥ And they send their dolls in a neat carryingbag.

For me, the whole ordering-process on Dolkot was Positive.
(I also know a person that ordered Adam as white skin, and he was in perfect quality too. )

Anyways, here's a arrival-picture of my girl. She has a glamour body.
(link since she's nekkid.) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v606/Angstihinata/dollies/20080708_5.png

I hope this was SOME help to all of you whove been wondering to order or not to order from them! :3
