February 2011 Volks Tokyo Bay Cruise - Limited SD17 Reisner

Ugh...he's so gorgeous! (another grail doll) And why oh why so hard to get! By the time I spent money on airfare, cruise tickets...I'd have no money left to buy anything anyway. Rats...

My only hope is to save up tons of money and try to get one second hand. Waaah...

 

It's so unfair. I have been longing for a Reisner for several years but he is always way too expensive on Yahoo or in the Marketplace.
Us poor Europeans never get in on the nice events and then the tickets for the flight and everything are soo expensive too.
I think, I will never be able to go or get him otherwise...

I think Volks managed to get my brother and me in one go. He's pining for the DD Saber Lily from DP24, then I saw the re-release of scarface Reisner. *sigh* I'm hoping to be able to find one right after the cruise, there is no way I can enter the cruise and lottery either way. Just when I thought I don't need another doll.

I once got pounced on by a Maki T. on Dollyteria - he was pretty much retail price and I just couldn't help myself, so I fully understand how a Cruise Williams might attack all at once.

 

I think the writing of scar should be taken in a more literal meaning. It does not say Reisner the Scarface. It only says Reisner ~ the desire for revenge ~ Otherwise it would say Reisner the scarface ~ the desire for revenge on top.

Either way I think he'll look awesome whether scarfaced or open eyed. (Would it be possible that he'sopened eyed but with a scar over one eye?) Congrats Fransyung on getting Williams, I can so appreciate the way they sneak up on you unexpected.

 

I've been waiting for a scarface Reisner... TAT But oh well, guess I'll be safe this time if he's not scarfaced. According to the story though, he only has the scar after the eye was taken, right? I'd be more than happy if he's open eyes ! Even with a scar in the make-up would be okay, but open-eye !

I had reisner the scarface in the past and if this really is reisner the scarface, the headband would not be able to cover the entire scar you would still be able to see it. So on top of this, I do not think he is a scarface.

Remember that secretive Reisner that Volks claim to be SD17 Cecile with a painted scar? I think it may be this particular Reisner we see here. So perhaps there is a painted scar underneath the headband. The face-up look very similar to that Reisner.

I saw this photo from Dolpa 24 website. It seems that this Reisner and the one on the Tokyo bay Cruise site got same or similar face up... I have a hunch that this is the Reisner that they're going to release, maybe with a painted scar

And remember they had a teaser of Reisner cosplaying as Cecil wayback last Kobe cruise? Open eye with scar paint i think?

For the Tokyo Disneyland Event, there were two banquets-a late lunch and dinner. The dolls released were the same for both banquets. So I would expect Volks to do the same here. But geeze, a cruise in February in Tokyo sounds so coooooold!

Volks USA has been invited to some of the events in Japan depending on the size of the event. We'll have to wait and see if Volks USA this time. I went to the Tokyo Disneyland event in 2009. Language was a bit of an issue but it didn't really affect our enjoyment of the trip. Kuni Shigeta (Mr Shigeta's son) translated his dad's speech for us at the banquet and Shino Shigeta (Mr Shigeta's daughter) helped us with the one-off forms (sadly we did not win). Don't let language be an issue for you-I had blast and am hoping to go in February again. You can pm me with questions if you want.

I've been lurking around the Y!J for couple years... the highest price I've seen for full set Scar-face Reisner is 250,000+ yen that's almost 3000usd. There's one that reached almost 4000usd because aside from full set Scar-face Reisner there's an additional Open-eyed Reisner head. Those bloated prices make my heart bleed because of disappointment and give up on getting one.

I think my upper limit to acquire Reisner' head/full is going up and up. I think I still regret the day I didn't get him when he was first released.

I tried searching around for older threads on the net and happened to see that the lowest second hand price will be 250,000yen....

The last Reisner scarface in YJ a few days ago scored almost 250,000 yen. I guess people are holding their breath (and money) for the new Reisner. ^^ The old one still have the old skin color and the old SD17 body... So I guess the new Reisner next year will be more popular with the pureskin color and newly jointed SD17 body... >.>" I know I want him, I just don't know if I'd be able to pay for him.

First Reisner was Pureskin also, this real difference will be the new SD17 body, I guess...
Hopefully, Volks won't do another mold for him like they did for William. But William was SD13 in the beginning, and Reisner has always been SD17 (being the first of this size)...

 

Lovely. I love Reisner SD17 without scar. I don't have space and budget for another doll and I don't qualify for the cruise, so if I want this doll, I'd have to get him from the second hand market. Moreover, I may need to sell one doll to make room for him. Sigh. I have a 5 doll maximum and a no sell policy but.......it's Reisner.....Let me think about it. I should not be so creedy......sigh.

 

Really?? But he was made in 2008, isn't that time VOLKS still using the old skin color? Or am I wrong about this? oAo If he's pureskin then the old Reisner can use the new pureskin body? Ugh... I mean I can change his body with a newer one?
