Their bodies pose wonderfully indeed! I'm curious to the Lionel body, since I've only had the 60cm body. I don't really like their heads either, apart from Lionel. It was instant love and the first doll I've wanted to buy. I'm glad to have his head, but the bobble aspect was not for me, I hope when he gets his matching body it'll be better. Though he'll be near 70 cms then, which is huge to me, haha!

I like those hybrids!

 

How does the resin feel? I'm hybriding a switch head with an fdoll body, but I was wondering how they feel compared to one another.

 

The FDoll resin is nice! Comparable, IMO, to the more expensive dolls. Well sculpted and engineered, too. Definitely under-appreciated. How they compare to Switch, I don't know. But Fdolls are nice!

 

I have both the male and the female 60cm body from FDoll, and I can honestly say that they're by far the best posers of all my dolls (and I have Soom, Iple, Ringdoll and Fairylands here) after restringing and sueding I think their resin feels very nice; its not super smooth or shiny, and has a slight tooth to it.
I recently asked FDoll if its possible to buy jut parts from them - I'm planning on modding the knees on my female body, because everytime they're fully bend they look like shovels -.- - and they told me that they changed the knee joint mechanism a bit, so I can't just order lower legs (since they won't fit on my body from last year) but need to order two complete legs... for 50$. I'll do that next year, need another male from from them too.

By the way, since the fdoll hands all look like sausages (female hands are at least a bit slimmer), the Dollmore Eve/Model Eve hands fit the wrist joint of both the male and female body perfectly plus Dollmores normale skin is a 99,5% match to FDolls pale normal skin. I can also recommend female jointed hands in general for both bodies, since they have rather slim wrists.

As for hybrids - both bodies have a neck size of ~9cm, while Switch heads have a 10cm neck :/ So there will be some gaping on that hybrid. the FDoll bodies are great for smaller SD heads like Zaoll or Supia though.

 

Well, I hope that the body that I ordered won't need too much sueding. Restringing isn't much for me to do. That's really good to know that the resin feels nice. I got a head from Impldoll and I didn't really like the feeling of the resin, but it's good to know fdoll has some tooth to it. As for hands, I already ordered the tamias hands from Switch, so I'm good with that. My Switch head is the smaller ones that fit on the Switch 57cm humming girl body and the 60cm humming boy body, so the neck is around 9.7cm, so I'm good with that. I've also seen smaller Switch head hybrids with fdoll. They look very proportionate and the gap is not that noticeable at all.

 

I have had both the 60cm body and now the 70cm body. Both are amazing posers. I have never sueded a doll in my life and I also haven't restrung those bodies. My Lionel was able to balance on one leg in multiple poses. Which I think is pretty impressive, haha. And that was the body how it arrived to me from Fantasy Doll themselfs, so done nothing extra.

I agree on the hands, I don't like the hands. But apart from that I'm very pleased with them!

@taixonay I bit the bullet and decided to order two bodies. The 60cm and the 69cm bodies about two months ago. I contacted the company about an update two days ago, and was told they'd ship next weekend. So hopefully in a week or two I'll have more to update here.

 

@Cloudedmind thanks for the response! I'm thinking of getting the 60cm body for a Migidoll head, so it'll be good to hear about a recent experience.

 

I think the 60cm body might be too small for a Migidoll head I have the 60cm body too, and it works great for smaller SD heads (like Dollmore Zaoll, with their 7.8inch head), but Migis are more along 8-9inch... might look a bit bobble headed?

 

It is a little. But my first Ryu was on the original 60cm body and I didnt mind the proportions too much. I would prefer the body be on the smaller side of the 60cm spectrum. The Fdoll body seems like the best option for now.

Just wanted to say, so happy to see some new posts, even if it was a month ago lol. Any updates on the two dolls you ordered @Cloudedmind ?

 

@Ballet I received a shipping notice on the 8th of this month, and I was just about to say tracking hasn't updated since then, but as I was writing this reply I got an email notice that the package finally hit customs, and expected delivery is Tuesday. So, hopefully by Wednesday I'll have something for you guys.

 

So, my bodies actually ended up arriving today, and I was able to take them out for a bit of an inspection. Unfortunately, the 60cm body arrived with a broken finger despite the bodies being really well packaged and wrapped for shipping. I've contacted Fantasy Doll, and am wanting to hear back about a possible replacement. If push comes to shove I can just super glue it back on. Now on to the positives. Like most Chinese BJD companies the bodies have been completely sanded. The bodies are smooth to the touch, but don't look overly shiny. They also sent two resin color chips. One of which appears to be pale normal since it matches the 69m body I bought, and the other tan. Kind of wish they'd sent me white or pink instead of pale normal, but it was nice they sent them at all. They also sent an additional chest piece for the 69cm body that has a bigger neck then the one that's strung for shipping. I knew they use to do this from really old box opening videos, so it's nice to know they still do.

I really like the 60cm body, it's the right amount of chubbiness I was looking for, for my Kdoll Keikei head. The heads a little more peach toned compared to the body which is in Fantasy Dolls normal skin color. And there's some gaping between the head and neck, but both things are pretty minor.

Edit: Michael with Fdoll said he'd send me a replacement hand.

 

Congratulations @Cloudedmind and I'm happy they will send a new hand. Hopefully it won't take long for delivery. Whenever you can, and if you want to of course, I would love to see photos of them whenever you're ready. I've stopped collecting for a bit, but man oh man I want to buy another Fdoll

I think the arms on the 60cm body are strung the wrong way round, you normally should be able to see the elbow joints :,D

 

@meanae Yeah, but this is how the body came strung, and when I checked I didn't see any markings to confirm proper placement. I haven't had time to restring him to see, but will probably try this weekend.

 

Just wanted to make an update that FDoll sent me a knew pair of hands, pretty promptly. They actually arrived last week, but I'd forgotten to pop in here and say so.

 

Hey everyone! Long time, just curious does anyone have a head with a 9.3 neck on the 60cm boy body? I wanted to see if it would be too big a difference, thank you!

 

I got my Zaolls on it (both female and male), and I think they're around that size? Works pretty well, I love the proportions.

 

I put a Kdoll Keikei head on mine for a bit and it fit (neck size is between 8.5 & 9), but eventually found the neck to thin for my preference.
Keikei. I think a lot will also depend on how big overall the head is that you want to use. @meanae can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Zaolls have smaller heads for SDs, while my Keikei has a big noggin.

^ Yup, Zaolls are on the smaller side, with ~19cm head circumference. I really like the proportions; looks really realistic. A bigger head would fit the neck, but might look bobble headed :/

 

I just ordered the 69cm body in their #17 tan, and I’m really hoping it works as a body for my tan Little Rebel Ethan head.

I hope it works out for you! I'm still waiting for my body, I hope everyone is doing better. I order the male 60cm in pink for my Tom Holland head. I tried him out on my female Sd body and thankfully the proportion looks okay to me.

 

Does anyone have photos of what the 69 cm male body's knee looks like when bent? I'm debating which to choose between the 69 cm Fantasydoll body and the Resinsoul Bigger Body. (If anyone has both, a comparison would be amazing too!)

 

I just have the 60cm body, but from personal experience I can say that even if the FDoll knees don't look that good when bend, they at least can hold poses with no problem, in contrast to the bigger resinsoul bodies. I had one of their 68cm male bodies here recently, at that was a jointed nightmare.

 

That's really helpful, thank you! It's for a character whose costuming is inspired by Howl from Howl's Moving Castle, so the joints will probably be rarely visible anyway. It's great to know that Fantasydoll bodies can hold poses well.

 

They just need a little bit of sueding and tighter strings, but then they're good to go The resinsoul joints (mostly) love to snap into place and only can do straight or 'bend at 90 degrees' poses, and thats it X.x

 

In your experience, does this apply to double jointed Resinsoul bodies too? Not just the single jointed ones?

 

Jup, double jointed ones too. I could go into detail what exactly is wrong with their joints, but that doesn't really belong on here :,D

 

Has anyone tried other companies' hands on the 69 cm body? I'm considering getting it for a hybrid but the hands look off to me.

 

sorry, never had sd jointed hands so I can't help with the above comment. I'm so excited though! Just got an email saying FD is sending out my boys body, and should be arriving on Thursday.

Just stopping by to say the FDoll body I ordered in March was delivered yesterday! I ordered the 69cm body in their #17 resin color which is a perfect match for my tan Little Rebel Ethan head. The proportions are pretty great too, I’ll try to take a picture later today and post it. They also included some resin samples which I asked for so I will also try to do a resin comparison pic or two.

I really hope somebody here has a little knowledge about FDoll they could share?

I am trying to find a body for a second hand Little Rebel head that had originally been casted by FDoll in the color they call pale normal now, or something similar. But it has seen 5 years' worth of yellowing meanwhile, so the color is much changed from then. As it matches nothing I know, I have been researching companies providing resin matching services and could not find anything about FDoll. And their website gives little to no information about anything, I'm afraid.
So - do you know if they might accept a resin matching body order? Any help would be appreciated!^^

 

Best is to ask them If it helps, their regular normal skin matched my yellowed ns Zaoll head okay, while their pale normal was a perfect match to a brand new zaoll head.

 

Thanks, @meanae I will eventually do that, but in my experience communication with Chinese companies can often be difficult... lots of details get lost in translation, if you take my meaning^^
My Little Rebel head was in their pinkish normal color - now it is closest in color to Souldoll normal and older Supia normal, but it is darker than either of those, so that's the problem^^ Dollmore doesn't match, neither old nor new

 

Hello! I have a small head I got in a grab bag a while ago labeled "Fantasy Doll Dane Head" but when I look at the Fdoll website they don't seem to have sculpt names?

Based on the size of the head and site pics I think he's the head that comes with their 25cm, but I saw that head referred to as "Glen" in another place.

Any help identifying this doll would be appreciated. Thanks!

FDoll recently purged all their 'named' sculpts. Dane was a SD sculpt, not sure why that tiny came with a name tag - could definitely be Glen though You can still see the old page via archive.org.

Oh man I always forget about archive.org. Thanks. Yeah, there's no way this head is Dane based on the pics and size. I'll grab a tape measure and check out circumference and maybe see how he fits on my Yo to confirm.

 

Does anyone know when they marked all their bodies as ‘sold out’, and if they are coming back? Just went to place an order and was greeted with deep sadness lol.

 

@Implingz Sorry, I have no info about that. Did you try to mail them? Mails to [email protected] were answered within a few days in the past, but since so many places in China are completely in lockdown now, one never knows what the situation might be like.
