Is Fantasy Doll a new BJD company just opening its web doors? Would anyone who has information on this company and its products please chime in and let us know more about it? $166.00 seems like a price that is too good to be true. The face sculpt seems nice but they don't show us a photo of an unclothed body on the website. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Jeanette
Fantasy Doll is a new BJD company,we finished Tobias newly, and we will make more beautiful doll ,1/3 doll,1/4 doll,1/6 doll, tiny doll..... We hope more persons have beautiful dolls. The photo of unclothed body will be uploaded soon. ^_^
I am so interested in this company, first off those boots = win as do Tobias's clothes. The face sculpt is nice and the body sculpt is simple but pretty in a masculine way.
Hmm, the price is really nice. I'm tempted by the potential in that face/mold, I'd like to see what he'd look it if I gave him a face up. And his body, It's probably the first three joint body that doesn't irk me because it looks smooth. Even at his regular price, he's still very tempting indeed.
I really like this new boy, he has softer features which i prefer. I want to know if he has a magnetic head cap or an S-hook..........head caps can be a pain to get on and off for make-ups and eye changes.
I'm planning on ordering one too, but I'd like to know weather the skin tones are a match with other dolls companies to make hybridation, or not? And I'd like to know if they have been thinking about making a 1/3 girl as well. Thank's! BTW : the boy's body is absolutely gorgeous, and I use to be sooooooooo severe concerning good or bad anatomy...
Personally I think I will order him in white skin, no matter the skin tone match or not with other companies skin tones. (it is normal skin on the pics, right ?) I love his delicate face, not too masculine but neither feminine at all. So, X-aël, let's wait for some pics before we order ? Xb
Not a rep of the brand, but since the full doll's shipping weight is listed as being about 1.25 kilos (under 3 pounds) and the amount of resin used in a 1/3 scale doll can run $200 without anything else included, I suspect he may be some type of plastic (like Jun Planning's Ai dolls)? I'd wait for the official word first, though.
Not saying you are wrong, but my Bobobie body is definitely resin, and it cost me under $125. I have a sneaking suspicion that resin is cheaper in China, where both Bobobie and Fantasy Doll are based. The doll looks resin to me in the photos, but we will see. ~Anrui
but someone else did order the doll? I want to buy it, but i din´t order yet because i´m bit scared (sorry^^U)... but, if they are in the forum, we can trust on this new company, right???
The shipping is a little ouchie. One doll is $60 (not so unusual) but one pair of eyes is $24 as is three pairs of eyes. I want some of the eyes so I'm thinking a group order is in order. Nice doll though. LM
Wow... I've been looking for a white skin boy body for my floating head, and at that price I could handle a minor resin mismatch! ^_^ That's what blushing is for, lol. That body price is less than half of the price of most bodies!
Once my boys get here, I can take comparison shots. I ordered a BW and NS Tobias. Although I only own a BW Gena and Mowen, I'm sure that'll be able to help someone... and I own a NS El. ^^
Lol, I with you on that TheFontBandit!! I have been wanting an El for sooooo long. I have ordered the body in white and and a bw El head. I wonder if they will come out with girls soon... I have a bw Lishe and a ns Juri 05 that need bodies.><
Thanks! I was just wondering if, given the price range, these were made of vinyl, like Obitsu and Dollfie Dream (those ARE vinyl, right?) Anyway, its a great price and he looks good too. Can't wait to see them when they arrive for the people who ordered them. Sooo tempting!
No ^^ They are made of resin! Edit: I guess I need to clarify that by 'they' I mean the Tobias dolls ^^;;
Hi, anyone that has place an order, please come join the waiting room^^ thanks!! http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2004083#post2004083
I actualy really like this body. I would love to know what the circumference of the neck is though, since I'm not too sure I'm totaly hot on Tobias's chin.
Oh,the price is so attractive! I love his face especially the nose and lip.It remind me the Hound-Haute.^^
I need a cheap SD body for my Kill-U head.. and I'm looking into FDoll. But is the quality okay? And does anyone know if the resin matches Volks NS?
The resin feels neat--oddly enough I have only seen Domuya resin and Dollzone resin to compare with the FD resin, but to me the FD resin feels a lot like ivory (many years ago I did scrimshaw for my day job)--it's heavy and smooth and strong, with good even color. It's slightly on the yellow side (like ivory again) with good looking, well-fitting joints. It doesn't feel cheap--in fact I believe now that the line has been introduced, the price will be going up soon.
I'm bumping this because I had the exact same question. Can anyone else share their experience with FDoll?
I just wanted to add one thing--they are strung way tight--if you get a body, consider getting more elastic for restringing. I went through 30 bodies last week and all the big ones were kicky (the tinies are *perfect*)
Oh! I'm glad I spied this. I've just gotten two Fantasydoll bodies, one girl and one boy, and am happy to recommend them, as well. I absolutely ADORE the girl body. She's very slim and has lovely, dainty hands. A very nicely sculpted and assembled torso - some companies' midsections can be a little challenging to deal with but this one is excellent. The boy sculpt is very nice. He's not chiseled and rippled like a Jace or one of the other man-dolls, but he has a nicely shaped chest and is, yes, satisfyingly well-done in other areas. (Don't make me say it out loud, Aernath! ) The resin is gorgeous and seam lines are non-existent. The resin seems a bit thinner than, say, the 60 cm Domuya boy body I have, but it doesn't seem fragile or "cheap." I agree that at least the boy body seems very very tightly strung; in fact I'm going to redo him. The girl body was excellent - but because I bought her second-hand I don't know whether that's the company's string or the original owner's. I would suggest that some hotglue sueding on the knees -- or maybe some lightweight wiring -- is necessary, because they are a little kicky. Overall, I think that they are an excellent buy. They're very inexpensive compared to other companies' bodies, and yet they are of much more thoughtful design than some others in the low-end price range. I got them to work with "floating heads" but I'm not thinking of them as temporary solutions any more
I think Fdoll has good resin quality, although it's a bit smooth, with little grip to it. The body is on the whole satisfactory - it's really good at all the slouching poses because of the three-part torso. However, the knees are a little hard to keep straight (I'm not sure if that's a problem common to all larger dolls or because of stringing. Sueding and wiring would sort out quite a few problems, but I would replace the stringing in the arms - it seems to be very tight. And watch out for those nipples! They are a little odd - so if you're not into modding and like the realistic kind, bear that in mind. I don't mind so much because my guy's covered up most of the time. I'm not sure whether it matches pureskin but I would hazard a guess at no, judging by the fact that the SDF bodies (well, one batch at least) match it, real-skin is more yellow toned than CP NS iirc and FDoll bodies are meant to be a close match for CP NS - although I've never seen this irl.
May I ask, if you don't mind what head are you going to put on the girls body?? I'm interested as well
Alright, Today is the first time I've stumbled across Fantasy doll... www.fdoll.com Only $185 (<approx) for an SD sized doll? This seems way too good to be true. What's the catch? Is the resin sub par? Do they pose badly? Or is it really just a great deal? (and the fact they only have two sculpts to choose from) Input please! I'm serious contemplating one... or two..
The resin is stunning, They come sanded already and are really nice. They do ship with the hands unattacted, but that's not too big a deal. I bought a body for a head, and am currently selling her, as I changed my mind, but she came wrapped in bubble wrap and in a box. That was my only gripe. Barely wrapped and the box wasn't in another box, like say Luts dolls.
Hmm.. wow. I think I really like these dolls! I definitely will have to consider getting one.. such a good deal
I dont buy cheap dolls and companies that i dont know very well. I am not one to take any chances. But if u like them i suppose go for it.
Buy extra elastic for stringing, though--they are a little kicky. The girl, Nina, is absolutely gorgeous, IMO--waay better than the website pics. The little Kemi's and Glens are cute as buttons. I'm not hugely fond of Tobias but he's a nice workable, heavy body (his head is silly, and a tad small, but at least you can tell he's a guy). They have pretty nice hands, too--feet aren't real detailed, but the proportions are good if you want to get in there and nertle around the toes for more detail. The NS resin is a good match for Jolly Plus, it's a little yellower than DollZone and a little yellower than AoD.
OH! The Tobias body looks so good! Could you put a Delf head on that one? like a Dreaming El? that would be to cool. ah, sorry i'm a newbie and don't know things like that.. ;__;
Thanks for the opinions and especially the review! I feel alot better about this now... I also showed them to my friend who wants her fisrt doll (we have a head in mind, but unfortunately it's ONLY a head) ... Which brings me to a separate question... Does anybody know if this or anything else for that matter is a good resin match for the mini mee heads? (I think they're called Mini mee... the one where you send them pictures and they sculpt a couple heads for you?)
CP heads work well on FD bods... I bought a couple of them for my "rolling heads", and the only issue has been resin color. (The Fantasy Doll NS is much, much paler than the resin of my NS CP Juri '06 head. Their BW is a perfect match for my Elf Yders and Nanuri '07 girl, though-)
That's look great body!! but Fdoll.com didn't sell world wide... sad of me... I want to get their body to use with my doll head.
The latest doll I bought- who is also my first- was FDoll's Kemi. While they aren't wrapped very securely, they're of very good quality- comparing them to what I've seen and felt of other dolls. Quality resin, good poseability. Can't answer for the larger dolls as I don't own one, but from what I've seen first-hand of them, they're equally as nice.
Alright. ^,^ My fears have been calmed and my mind made up. Christmas next year is planned! So, just so this thread doesn't go to waste, how about some pic spam of the Fdolls in here? does anybody have a full Tobias? or anybody else for that matter?
One of Fdoll Ninas' hands are an exact replica of a CP doll-- not sure why/what happened but just letting everyone know I noticd the similarity on my girl.... The light-skinned one is a CP B(green, cough)W girl and the FDoll hand is the darker one, because it is NS
Well, that is not good--does the palm match as well? And what is the protocol for something like a copied hand? I was going to get a Nina body to go with a rolling head I have, but if the hands aren't original I'll have to look for other hands, like a set of CP ones.
Huh... I didn't even look at the hands that came on Autumn's bod, since I was switching them out for a pair of CP hands anyway, but you're right... From the back at least that's pretty darn close.
I always feel that their body is a modded replica of CP boy bodies. The comparison photos of these 2 bodies, fdoll and CP just makes me even more convinced. How can one sculpt a body until 85% similar without 'taking reference' of existing one? >_<
Well, in my opinion, even if they were 'based' on CP, the posing of the dolls is nowhere near a CP. They definitely have $150 worth of posing. The arms have the worst pose-ability I've seen so far on a doll. I have AODs and they pose like a dream except for shoulder movement, and that is even better than the Fantasy doll. I am going to get brave and start sanding to see if I can improve the movement of the elbows. When you go to move the arms to an outward position they slip out of joint and look stupid. You have to keep them crossed on the front of the doll, slightly down in the lap, or straight on the sides. And you can't get the knees to 'close' on the dolls when they sit. The girls have the most unladylike pose when sitting. You must keep undies on them if they wear a dress/skirt, or rubber band their knees together! The boy isn't quite as bad, but boys sit that way to begin with.
Has anyone tried a SOOM head on an FDoll body? How do they fit? (I'm not too worried about resin matching, since he's getting dyed anyway]
Restringing and sueding them helps a lot. They come strung tight beyond all rationality and that makes the arms an absolute pain in the rear to do anything with... They do have weird-looking elbows, though. 8P Over-all, with corrected stringing, I'd actually put their posing somewhere between the Delfs and the MiniFees, but that's probably a reflection of what I'm used to working with. (I've never been able to get a Fee to do half the things my Delfs will.) Either way, they're way ahead of my Hound, who holds the title for "biggest pain in the butt to pose" over here.
