Oh that's a fancy Hallowe'en outfit @pepperonipizza ! You have skills. My tan Toki is home and I think I have her colour palette picked out but still not sure what the end result will be. Toki's costume fitting on Flickr I love the green eyes she came with.
@nancy_schroeder_ca and @InkNLionsTeeth = thank you! @Aether Coffee thank you! Congrats on your tan Toki! I can't wait to see what you make for her! And here's Turnip's second outfit. The pants and shirt are the same pattern as his Halloween outfit - I just added the ruff and hat because, why not? I had a wee but of trouble with the ruff at first, and had to take out what I had done and started over. It's been many years since I made a ruff. But I love it. He's just so much fun to sew for. I can't wait to make him another outfit! 20240526_204702 by PepperoniPizza 13BlackCats, on Flickr
@pepperonipizza Great outfits and great job sewing! ACK! I forgot: those 3 Realpuki patterns (dress, pants, sweater) are also in DoA's Workshop: Patterns: Knitting! Concerning free patterns: when I first started with BJDs, VERY generous people posted free clothing patterns on DoA and I was so grateful. Now I post free knitting patterns to give back and I'm having a lot of fun doing it! Here's a pic from my knit pants trials:
Wow….such darling outfits @pepperonipizza Adorable knits @Answer42 . How kind of you to share your patterns!
@pepperonipizza You've done a great job, both outfits are really cute and quite different from what we usually see on the RP's. @Answer42 OMG they look so cute all lined up there. I bet you had fun trying to get them all to stand.
Oh I love Turnip, @pepperonipizza , what an adorable pierro in that outfitt! @Answer42 you're making knitting look tempting I have to say.
@pepperonipizza I love, love, love your sewing for these little ones. These two outfits are pure adorableness!
@Xanadu Dolls Yes, trying to get Realpukis to pose together is like herding cats! Without their magnetic feet and a big metal plate under the paper they're standing on, we'd be looking at a pile of prone Pukis!
@Answer42 @Jonlyn @Xanadu Dolls @PoeticSoul - thank you everyone! Now I have to figure out what to sew for Turnip next! Of course, he does have a friend in the mail..... My NS Obi should be here early next week! I'm really excited to see him in person since I ended up falling in fall with the sculpt thanks to all of you Obi owners who shared pics!
Great job, @pepperonipizza - I'll go look for those patterns. I already have small needles, as I used to knit for my dollhouse dolls - but that was a long time ago, before reading glasses... I'll have to see how it goes now. My blue-grey Obi should be in the mail as well. I'm so excited to finally have him home. I never liked Obi when he was available, and then by the time you all made me change my mind about him I could not longer find one. I'm also excited about the colour. I don't have these little guys in fantasy colours yet, and I love the grey.
If it helps, I have a VERY simple Realpuki felt vest in DoA's Workshop: Patterns: Sewing. It's a one-page PDF with 5 different styles to choose from. It took 8 tries to get the fit right!
Thank you so much for sharing. I have downloaded the pattern but whether I make it is anyone’s guess. Sewing is not my forte but my little Soso, Bee, needs something to wear!
@pepperonipizza @Fairy Milliner So pleased you are bringing an Obi home, he's such a sweetheart and I look forward to seeing pictures soon. @Answer42 Thanks for the waistcoat pattern, it will come in handy when my guys need a change of clothes.
My Obi is home. He doesn't have a name yet, and no wig or shoes - but he did find an outfit. And then there were five... I told myself "no more". And then I told myself "well, maybe one more..."
@Fairy Milliner - OMG how cute is your lineup! I now have to have an Obi in the blue grey skin. I totally did the same thing. I got my NS Obi. And then I ended up with a WS Soso on layaway. Add them to my NS Soso at home and my WS Toki that has FINALLY shipped from DDE and that gives me 4!!! They are addicting. And so much fun to sew for.
I was in Michael’s today and they have undecorated miniature rooms you can put together now! I’m not 100% sure because I don’t have her yet, but I think they’re going to be the perfect size for a realpuki.
Oh Obi is really cute in blue! I had time to get photos of my tan Toki in her kelp sprite costume. Meet Kelpy! I used scrap wool and the gold edging to give her a seaweed looking wig/hat combo.
Thank you! I'm pretty smitten myself I thought I would be good with two Realpuki friends but ... would three be better??
My Kaka came today, and y’all were not kidding about them being addicting…the temptation I have to immediately add another one is SO strong! She is seriously the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen I can’t believe how sweet she is ahhhhhh
I agree that Realpukis are addicting and there's no such thing as too many RPs. Jonlyn, your little girl is beautiful! I love her dress and especially her eyes!
@Jonlyn - your dolls are so cute! For some reason, the girl in the petal dress reminds me of Mary from Hocus Pocus. She's got an endearing little crooked smile! @InkNLionsTeeth - they are addicting! I have a 4th one on layaway and I had zero intention of gathering that many... The justification is that they aren't as expensive as some other dolls AND they are small! I know if the opportunity presented itself I would easily had double that many. Or maybe an even dozen!
CAUTION: naked dolls below! Here are my new Realpukis from CP/Fairyland's latest run. They're deciding on whether they'll let me put clothes on them. 2 said yes but the Kakas are still debating!
@Jonlyn Love your photos! Your RP's look so cute. @Answer42 Those Kakas are so mischievous and will only give you more grief you know. Great photo!
Thank you @Lemon Balm Sprite , @Fairy Milliner ,@pepperonipizza & @Xanadu Dolls for your kind compliments. @Answer42 LOVE your naked babies! Great to see this thread getting active again!
Got my shipping notice! (After I went and made an order from DDE for other things) Incoming Toki sometime next week. Hope your inboxes are full of good news!
If (when) I end up getting another one I will definitely be blaming this thread! Here is my Tamia pretending to be a statue and then playing in the ferns I really love my Toki buddy, but Obi's face sculpt is so. cute. I think it's my fave.
My Toki got here yesterday and immediately said no to the wig I got them and stole my Soso's wig. So there's been a drastic shift in personalities that what I planned on. Suddenly Soso is more boyish and Toki is more girly, but both are super cute.
@Lemon Balm Sprite YES, let's hope Fairyland does more releases of previous face sculpts! Oh, for a Realpuki Titi! So sweet!
Titi is really cute... I'm hoping for Aki myself, but yes, I could go for Titi. Meanwhile, though, I'm feeling like a bad RP-mom. Poor Toby broke an ear - I have no idea how, I couldn't find the piece, and I realised I can't even fix it by filing the ear down a bit, because the resin is horribly white on the inside.... I guess I'm just going to blush it a bit and live with it. Poor baby is the second broken ear I discovered this year. I'm not sure what's going on in my doll cabinet - maybe they're fighting when I'm not looking???
@Fairy Milliner do you have any experience with Apoxie Sculpt? I've seen some amazing customization work; maybe you could use it to reform the ear. I just made my final layaway payment to add some tan cuties to my crew!!
Dolls magazine asked for submissions for doll Halloween or fall photos. Here's mine: Ara is trying to scare trick-or-treaters, completely forgetting he's dressed as a chicken and not a dragon! Sira finds Ara's confusion hilarious!
@Fairy Milliner , poor little Toby! Hope you find the ear tip. @Answer42 , your two are darling . Hope this cute picture is chosen for the magazine.
I had some Milliput, and it seems to have worked, but I have an issue with my MSC - now Toby has a shiny ear. It's very annoying. Also, I think I should paint it with acrylics instead of trying to blush it, because the pastels just don't "take". All in all I'm just very annoyed at myself. I still don't know how it got broken. Anyway, congrats on your final layaway payment, I hope your new tan babies arrive soon!
Such a sweet picture of your girl, @Jonlyn !! I love her face-up - it makes you wonder what she's thinking, and whether she's maybe laughing at us in secret. Meanwhile, I keep telling myself I absolutely do NOT want more dolls, but I can't help looking, so I checked out the MP a few days ago and found this little fellow at the top of the list: Of course I pounced on the poor seller, and he's here now. Aki was the last one on my wish list. (Can't really promise he's going to be the last one I will buy... ) He needs a new name, and a face-up, and a wig... Maybe some shoes? I really wish FL would bring back the RP magic items. I loved those elf shoes!!
