    3. Oh, dear ..... June is more adorable than I first thought ..... Oh dear .....

    4. I just cannot decide which sculpt I like better! They're both so cute~

    5. Haru's face has me entranced... it's rather like the RealPuki Pupu in mouth shape. Tini's mouth is similar too. I like both those sculpts so it's not surprising I like this one too.

    6. I like June but I also like the blue Rus. What to do.

    7. I'm pretty new to Fairyland as a company, so I have a question about the upcoming release. A post in the last thread said that the event would run June 10th ~ July 20th and that Fairyland "will ensure that there is plenty of stock allocated for both FairyLand website and Denver Doll Emporium." Does this mean it's a number limited release or can you order up until July 20th?

    8. Fullsets are limited in number, basics are unlimited until the event ends.

    9. Ahh! That makes much more sense~ Do the fullsets tend to go pretty quick? I'm sure it depends on the popularity of the new sculpt, of course.

    10. It depends on the popularity but also the price. Many people will balk at a really expensive set, or else order only the basic doll.

    11. How many sets do you think they will release? I'm nervous they won't do many because of how complicated the hippogriff's mechanics might be. I know they reassured us they would have plenty between DDE and Fairyland, but I'm still nervous. So what are we thinking? How many full sets?

    12. I am really torn on what I think I might like to order with this release - I eagerly await seeing how they will group things together and the pricing for various sets.

    13. i missed that they changed the release date from june 7th to 10th. i've been haunting the site the last couple of days wondering what was going to happen. did anyone notice that they are releasing pics on the fairyland site on the 10th but you can only buy from dde until the 13th. wonder if that means the first set of dde orders will come in faster then the direct to fairyland this time?

    14. I would just like to know if there was any consensus on who June, the girl, looks like. I feel like she has elements of some of CP's realpukis but I can't identify it as easily as the little guy's mouth.

    15. Ahhhh, sold a doll and I am now set to get my basic June!
Juniper and Flynn are looking forward to a new fantasy sister :D

    16. will she be getting the hippogriff body? or do you think they will have the other fantasy legs open again?

    17. This realfees will get the hippogrif art pet only. But as I got this time it will be the whole animal not just a parts.
Previous times they made the human fullsets with price around 370 and all animal parts were additional and +price. This time the hippo will be the additional full doll. It could be expensive.

    18. Seeing so many of us have spare legs, it would be great if FL would give the option of buying the June or Haru top body only, but I guess that would be too much to expect. :wiggle

      • x 1
    19. that would be a great idea. i could get a couple of new dolls at a lower price that way

    20. Yes me too and we wouldn't have all that resin going to waste! ;)

    21. i bet they won't though, just cause the resins might not match? the reason a lot of companies give for not selling heads separately. it's really too bad though, cause what do you do with those extra legs?

    22. I think that's an excuse they use, not a reason. Even if the resin was slightly off, when you dress them you'd hardly see the legs at all, and with the clothing in between who but an expert would ever notice? Bit different to putting a head on a neck where it would be noticable.

    23. actually it's usually pretty easy to cover up minor differences between the head and neck, just by blushing. i think it is just an excuse too. they just don't want to deal in parts...

    24. Yes I guess so, still we can all dream,. :)

    25. Dunno -- for the last couple of releases, it seemed like the DDE and company-direct orders were coming in more or less at the same time. There were people who got their DDE dolls faster than others who'd ordered directly, but that seemed to be because DDE had pre-paid for a few "stock" full-sets & basic dolls, so those who weren't customizing had a slight advantage there.

I thought June was using the same faceplate as May, when the first video came out. At least one or two other people have said she looks like May's sister.

    26. No, it's cute and seems very well made but not for me. Besides, I'm pretty sure it is out of my budget. I don't see them releasing prior fantasy legs though, which is a shame 'cause I'm sure they'd make money. Just like the next quote...
Exactly - I have a pair of mint legs that are wrapped up doing nothing and I have a fantasy character that needs a torso of her own... I understand wanting to create demand but that only works to your benefit if you later release those limited items. Then you can rake in the $$$. If you NEVER re-release them, only the collectors who managed to get them the first time stand to make any $$$ Look at how much limited head sculpts go for...

    27. Ah, the bunny girl, OK that makes sense thanks.

    28. Another whole day to get through before we'll finally know the answers. :)

Odd name selections I find though, especially Haru. Did he help FL in some way, I wonder?

    29. I can tell I'm hooked when I start picking out names for dolls I haven't even ordered yet!

I like the name June well enough to keep it for my (soon to be ordered) June girl, and I'm thinking I'll name her blue Hippogriff girl companion "July" to continue the month sequence in the girl names. As a bonus, both names work well with Jack, my Pano boy's name.

And the more I look at how well the Hippogriffs pose in the videos, the more I'm thinking Jack needs a boy Hippogriff companion named Cyrus. (A high school friend of mine named Cyrus went by Rus. He was such a sweetheart that I've always loved both names.)

<sigh> I'll have to see the pricing before deciding whether there is a 2nd Hippogriff (Cyrus) in my future, but hopefully RealFee June and Hippogriff July are a lock for me. My first girl RealFees - I can't wait!

    30. I'm pretty much committed to a hippogriff and girl realfee that I'm sure that when I see the price the only debate is full set vs. Basic. That hippogriff engineering is just simply too amazing to pass up.
I'm worried if I don't but it during this release, who knows the next time you'll be able to get one.
I'm just wondering if they are actually normal skin/white skin with blushing or actually a base blue/purple with same color blushing. Either way they are just too awesome

    31. They look like pink and purple resin with blushing - they may or may not have the normal shades (NS, WS, Tan) available to choose from.

    32. I wondered about the standard colors too, but (for what it's worth) the blank Hippogriff in the first video Fairyland posted looks to be in Fairyland "Natural" resin:

    33. I'm not sure yet if I'm getting both RF or one RF and the hippogriff. Depends on the pricing. There is a girl nearby who's had an airbrush for a few years now. Her work samples look pretty good. I was thinking about getting her to do my 2 sets of satyr legs.

    34. Arg ..... the DDE sale starts right in the middle of the time frame when we are having appliances delivered tomorrow. :;crossing fingers::

      • x 1
    35. Do we think they will sell out quickly?

      • x 1
    36. I'm in the same boat as you about not knowing what I will get until I see the prices. Ideally I would love to get a Realfee and a Hippagriff but I might just get a Realfee in this round.

Hope your appliance arrive without delays or problems and that you are capable of picking the Realfee of your choice. June? Did I guess right? Or are you planning on getting June, Haru, and Rus?

It's hard to say at this point if the fullsets will sell out because we don't know the pricing. In the past Realfee releases - Fairyland sells about 160 to 200 fullsets on their home site and they provide the same amount to DDE. If DDE does sell out their allotment, don't panic because you could just wait for Fairyland to release their Realfees. The worst that can happen is you don't get a fullset and just get the basic version of the Realfee. Since this is the first Art Line we don't know if Fairyland will limit the quantity or if there will be options such as face up for the Hippogriffs. Hope that answers your questions.

    37. @Charm505 thanks. Yeah...best of luck to everyone tomorrow. Feels like waiting for Christmas. I still don't know what I'm doing. Have to wait and see what the damage ($$$$) is first.

    38. @Charm505 I want to get the hippogriff foremost and possibly June if both aren't too terribly expensive. I'm crossing my fingers that Rus will be available blank in NS. If not, I may have to reconsider since my gryphon character (that Rus will stand in for) has natural coloring.

    39. Hi all sorry if I'm just missing it but what time do these little guys go on sale tomorrow? Thanks ^_^

    40. This is the link to the schedule: FairyLand Ball Joint Doll Shopping Mall

Art Line will be available for purchase at FairyLand from June 13th, 5PM KST.
Art Line will be available for purchase at Denver Doll Emporium from June 10th, 8AM MST (Mountain Time Zone).

Whether or not I buy one, depends on how much it costs to make a Hippogriff centaur. :) I'm really not interested in them on their own. Umm well... that's not entirely true, I'm interested in just the Hippogriff... but not enough to spend hundreds. I just have to make a centaur.

I hope we get to choose skin colors. So excited... and so is my husband. He showed the video to his friends at work.

    41. Thank you so much my phone keeps freaking out when I try and pull up fairylands site :)

    42. The listings are being uploaded on fairyland website (without the links on the first page)

White, normal, agra tan, violet and pink are available, the hippogryphs weren't up a few minutes ago...

    43. Strange, I can't see them, maybe different servers or something?

    44. It's just that I went on the last listing and changed the last number of the link... Hippogryphs are up and sold separately.

    45. I'm looking at the Fairyland listing for the Hippogriff Full Option package, and it looks like body blushing is not an option. Can that be true? I'll be really bummed if so.

    46. Ahhh they posted them on the website and they do offer the fantasy skin for the regular realfees! I was planning tan skin but now pink and violet are an option and I don't know what to chose

    47. Oh, and the girl RealFee is Haru, and the boy is June. (I had assumed the opposite.)

    48. So if you buy both full sets you get the wing and tail connectors. I understand the wind connectors but what exactly is the tail connector?
It also seems like the basic realfees will be available to buy as well, in the same fantasy colors as the new realfees too!!

I have to say I'm torn between Haru and Mari

    49. I'd really love to see examples of those resin colors next to other colors to really gauge what they look like. Hm.

    50. As the hippogriffs are available as basics, does that mean that the number is not limited, and they will be available during the whole ordering period? If I calculated the prices right, the basic with wings is more expensive than the full package! Does this make sense?

    51. Yes, the basics are not limited and will be available throughout the event period.

Yep, if you plan on getting all the options, the full package is a much better deal than the basic package + all the options. If you want a more stripped down Hippogriff, the basic package without (some or all all of) the options might be a better choice.

    52. I was going to say what does "tail connector" mean? Can someone clarify what that is when you are looking at the realfee full sets. And wow...I hadn't even thought of an Agra tan hippogriff. That changes everything for me. Sigh...I have no idea what I am doing now. I was so into the fantastical colors, but the Agra tan could be made to look super realistic. Although the wording is kind of dubious since it says the hippogriff body comes unpainted? Hmmmm...but I do love that I can get the realfees in Agra as well or the colors. Decisions...ahhhh!
Also for June-when it asks about the winking face-is that like asking if you want an additional SP head? So you would get two heads? Or you just choose the winking head instead? I'm assuming two heads, correct? I wish I had the option to save money and just choose the winking head. I don't need two heads really, but I think the winking head is cuter.
How do we all feel about the prices? I am actually ok. I thought they would be a lot higher. I think when you add it all up, it is worth a bit of heart attack, but still less damage or about equal to the damage I had imagined. I do wish there was a super deal if you bought a full set of all three though. Haha.

    53. If there is indeed not an option for paying an "art fee" and having Fairyland to do the body blushing for the Hippogriffs, this may change my plans.

Because Fairyland has posted pretty strong warnings advising users not to disassemble the Hippogriffs, I'm concerned about how difficult it might be to do the body blushing myself or to have someone else do it. For me, step one in doing this kind of thing would be disassembling the doll... And I would not be able to do shading nearly as smooth as the FL art regardless.

I think this is pushing me more towards getting a Hippgriff in Agra Tan, which I think would look pretty good without blushing and/or with minimal blushing which I think I could do myself.

    54. Yeah...I'm kind of hesitating now that I know there will be no body blushing. Cause I know I can't make the hippogriffs look like that. But maybe an Agra tan one would look alright on its own. Never good when I start hesitating though.

Edit** since they aren't doing the body blushing for the hippogriffs, I wish they would post pictures of the hippogriff bodies without the blushing so we could get an idea of what they look like sans make-up. I'm having a hard time visualizing them without it.

    55. Yep. And ideally I'd like to see June and Haru in the various resin colors too.

To me the base color of the pink Hippogriff looks lighter than the pink resin offered as a Mari option. But surely if it were different shade of pink, FL would give it a different resin color name (like Agra Tan as opposed to regular Tan)? Some resin swatches or side by side comparisons would be super helpful.

    56. Yes, a tan hippogriff would look cool without elaborate blushing. Just painting the beak, hooves and talons would give a quite natural look.

    57. I'm pleasantly surprised by the prices; looks like you can get both the "full package" (with wings) hippogriff & a fullset Haru or June for $820, as long as you don't worry about sleeping faceplates or eye upgrades. Still pricey, but I didn't think they could keep the hippogriff under $500. Of course that's still a steep price "by the inch", as my DH says, but if the engineering is as exquisite as it looks in the video, well worth it!

I *think* the 'tail connector' means you'll get the second 'lion' tail as well as the stubby little basic bob-tail -- anybody want to confirm? (I'm sure DenverDoll will have the answer tomorrow; this is why I think DDE gets a head start on orders, so that they can answer questions like this before Fairyland 'goes live'.)

If I'm reading it correctly, June's 'winking face' is a substitute for the usual sleep-face. (Notice the photos don't include a sleeping June, or a winking Haru.) Again, I'm sure DDE will be able to answer this for sure by tomorrow evening.

They are amazing little works of art, but this once my wallet is safe. If (when) Fairyland releases a proper griffon (lion body & paws, eagle head & wings), I'll be tearing my hair out trying to choose just one color, but the birdclaw/horse hoof combo never made sense to me, not even when I was a little kid haunting the Cloisters. And the new RL faces are perfectly fine, but not my style. So I can wait for the next release (be nice if they release the other 'fantasy parts' again)... and enjoy the creativity that you all will display with these new treasures!

Just found a note on Fairyland's 'news' page:

So that's the choice they made -- that it would be too expensive & time-consuming to offer hippogriff blushing. But they go on to state that they have a list of suggested artists, if you want their advice.

    58. Aaah there's so many options! I'm going a bit insane xD

I went over the hippogriff video again, and I think I may know what they mean with the tail connector
Video is here, you can see the tail at around 1:15

The base of the tail on the hippogriff is a peg, which would mean that the parts you put on there would not work on other dolls, since the magnet inside the tail parts would be too far away from the body. Does that make sense?
So I think they made a special extra peg part to use with regular dolls.

    59. Well I estimated a $900 spend and my two come to $905 so I am happy. Still sticking with the lilac blue hippogriff and the normal skin boy, as it works out perfect for my character Ruggerio. The hg will be called Fleetwood.

Like most of you, I was disappointed not to have the blushing, however I'm sure I can cope with it. I will only blush the wing tips and feet with pastels myself if it really needs it.

    60. Okay, looks like I'll just be getting Rus. Haru is adorable, but I think my husband would disown me if I spent that much again right after buying Rendia, and Rus is less expensive by himself than I feared. I just can't decide if I want him normal skin or the Agra tan......
