I agree with Aurinel, Wasa. I don't think he needs clothing at all. Beautiful faceup. You did a wonderful job! Did you do the blushing on the legs as well? They look fantastic!

I could not be happier with the eyes. I tripped across them on a tumblr post after giving up. Exactly the color I wanted, a subtle goat pupil, and just a little bit of metallic shimmer.

I did! I figured it was good way to learn how pastel and paint work on resin since fur would be more forgiving. His human butt has freckles on it for the same reason. Figure try it there first before on the chest and face. As for clothes, I want to make him a little vest at the least, maybe a waist cord. I don't think he'd ever consent to pants.

The legs were a lot of fun! The hooves especially. Used heavily thinned down acrylic to give them a striated look and then painted the undersides with curly-q's. They make me squee

Yay, new thread! I see there are newcomers since the last time I visited, they're all so cute! My personal favourite is your Pano, Wovenflame, he's great, congrats on the face-up and blushing!

I think you must be referring to Wasa's Pano as I don't have a Pano. At the moment my only Realfee is a faceless girl body. My Soso head seems to have gotten stuck somewhere along the delivery route. I'm starting to panic! The last update on tracking was on the 13th when it said the parcel had cleared Customs. Usually that is immediately followed by a statement that it has been turned over to Canada Post for delivery, but nope, not this time! My poor little Soso!

Your Realfees look great. I especially love the little sweater your Pano is wearing. Do your two have names yet?

 

i think christmas mail started early this year. i have a doll shipping from texas and i got the shipping notice on the 5th and she didn't get out of texas till the 14th! im hoping she may finally arrive this week. thank goodness for tracking so at least i can see each place she stalls. hope your soso arrives soon too

 

I hope that's all it is. The thing about it being stuck in that particular spot is that I don't know if it's still in Customs Canada's hands even though it has cleared Customs, or if it was picked up by Canada Post and left sitting somewhere unrecorded. I don't know who to contact to check if it becomes more than just a delayed delivery!

Meanwhile, I'm burning off fretting energy by sewing and knitting for my two incoming Realfees (a Mari is on order too). This is a dress for the Mari girl:



I thought those sewing for Realfee girls might be interested in the observations I have made. This dress was sewn using MyOwnLittleWorld's pattern, "The Little Dress" in Lati Yellow SP size, but I've made modifications to the pattern so that the fit is better on Realfee. I've added 1/8" to the depth of the shoulders (top of the shoulder), added a 1/4" to length at the bottom edge of the bodice, and another 1/4" to the length of the ruffle.

The shoes are Lati Yellow Sp size, but they are a tight fit. I initially dipped them in scalding hot water to soften the vinyl and then stretched the instep area before cramming them on the foot and leaving them to dry.

i feel bad that so many people are having problems with those shoes after i recommended them. they must have changed them since the first batch i got (a couple of years ago) were snug but not tight at all. i ordered more just to get the black and white ones so good to know there is a fix if the new ones are smaller.

 

that dress is adorable wovenflame! I just got some cute xmas themed fabric and I'm hoping to draft some patterns for my girls as well.

speaking of, here's a bit of spam for the new thread! I won't have new photos for a little while as Cinnamon (my pano) just went off for a new faceup thats a bit more feminine.

 

Hey, no need to feel bad! They are useable, it just takes a little extra effort initially. Even knowing what I know now I'd still order them. I'm even thinking of ordering a batch of the more feminine "mary jane" style shoes in that size. The only problem is that I already have two of the colours that are included in the batch and likely wouldn't use the third. That leaves only 3 out of 6 that I would use and the rest would have to be resold. Ugh. I'd buy individual pairs but the colours I'm after are only available right now in a grouping of 6.

The little striped fabric in the dress is about the only small enough Christmas print I could find locally. I like to dress my entire resin crew in Christmas outfits and put them on display during December. The older dolls all have outfits that they use each year. New dolls (and anticipated new dolls, just in case I get lucky and they arrive before Christmas!) always have to have an themed outfit so they can participate too.

My faceless Realfee body wants to tell your Pano that there is no need to be shy about appearing in public with no faceplate. She says we all have our differences and need to love each other, as is.

Update: Yay! The tracking on the Soso faceplate has finally moved. I would imagine that means I'll get it in the next day or two.

Also, the eBay seller has finally updated their stock with the individual colours I was after. Yay!

Now all I need is for Fairyland to update my order status to "shipped" or at least "before shipping".

The shoes were from the same seller, BssKid. Look up "Lati Yellow SP" in his shop. The "SP" is important because regular Lati Yellow shoes are way too small.

 

that i knew. the shoes i got were originally ordered for my pukifees and i missed the "sp" designation so they were way too big . luckily i am terrible at closet clearing/reselling so i had never got around to rehoming them and still had them for my realfees to wear.

 

That is EXACTLY how I ended up with my first two pairs of Mary Janes. They were purchased quite a long time ago so I'm hoping that there hasn't been any changes in the fit since then. The two pairs of Mary Janes I have here already are a perfect fit. They go on effortlessly, unlike the laceup style shown in the photo above.

 

If Sendell meant me, thank you very much *blush* He is loving the attention. Personally I smile whenever I see Wovenflame's googley eyed Realfees XD That red black and green dress is AMAZING. I hope my first attempts at doll clothes are even half as good.

Thank you ^o^ Calliburn is such a perfect name for your Pano and I love the full on poof of your May's wig. Makes me think of a beautiful forest witch, brewing potions and telling fortunes to brave younglings who venture to her hut.

They still have a few more supplies to collect before they begin the dangerous trek to their winter cabin.

 

did panos wig come with the tiny braids in it @El BJD or did you do it yourself? i love the look

 

Thanks auntbear! Pano's wig was such a poor fit that I couldn't even tell the front from the back. It's way too huge as well. To cope while I decided whether to soak it and fit it to my Pano's head, I put some braids in it, so I'd know where the perceived front is. With the horns, it doesn't seem quite so bad. May's wig, on the other hand, is a total delight!

 

Oh yes sorry I got it all wrong, it was Wasa's Pano I had seen. I really hope you'll receive your Soso head soon, I can relate to your anguish, it happens all the time with French Customs.
The dress you've made is lovely though, and I really like the...face you did

My boys have names yes, Soso is named Pips, and my Pano is my interpretation of Mr Tumnus from Narnia ^^

 

haha! I would join in the headless fun but Cinnamon is getting her face-up done by a local artist who's also a dollie friend so I dropped off her whole body since my friend has been considering getting a pano and wanted to play with the size for herself and I'm all for enabling others.

The holiday fabric I have that I was considering using is actually a red cotton that has a sort of metallic threading thru it? it gleams in the light so beautifully. I also got a similar fabric with a plaid print but that one might be a bigger scale than I want to use for my realfees. The plan for my may, Clover, is a red dress and a black knitted little cardigan (that hopefully works out as it'll be my first doll size knitted project *fingers crossed*). I'm thinking some sort of matching puffy shorts overalls for Cinnamon. Maybe a bit of embroidered holly on both of their outfits...

I could be getting a bit ambitious with my plans but we'll see. lol

 

if you start with a blythe sized pattern for the cardi it should give you the right number of stitches and there are a fair number of those floating around, even a few free ones especially if you check ravelry

 

What a great idea. I have a weaving friend that is desperately trying to avoid taking on yet another hobby but my dolls are drawing her in. Should I tell her resistance is futile?

That's actually a great idea. I've managed to figure out a pretty good stitch count at fingering weight, but it was a lot of trial and error.

clochette, I'd complain that you were causing your poor Pano some future gender identification issues if it wasn't for the fact that my male Soso is currently borrowing a female body. He won't be getting his male body until my Mari arrives.

 

well technically the fantasy parts are "angel" bodies or genderless aren't they? so once they get they switch from human they can be anything they want!

Flame styled himself. He really knows what he does and doesn't want and isn't afraid to make his opinion known. In a friendly way of course.

The faceup was done by Ban Sidhe. I love her work. The wig I got through DDE. It's slippery and needs eye putty to stay on, but the fit is good. I just can't get enough of this little guy. He really makes me smile.

Checking out all the new pics I'm waiting on my Mari. It might be awhile yet, since I ordered the full option package. I decided to go big or go home this event.

 

After seeing all these blank Mari's fly home, I have to say... I'm in love and pining for my own Mari now!! She already has a name and I haven't even ordered her yet... On the same topic, did anyone order her in mint?

 

Mine has a name too, despite the fact that she's not home yet. Meanwhile my Pano has only given me the hint is that it's a nature related noun.

My Mari came today, but I worked a double so I haven't had the time to play with her fully. I love her sculpt even more now that I see her in person. Her size is super fun too! I can't wait to start on her wig and faceup in the next few days. I'll hopefully get to post some pictures of her tomorrow.

Don't worry I'm sure Fairyland will release Realfees again with fun colors for you. Plus it doesn't sound like Mari is a limited time sculpt.

yeah I orderd her in mint...so it was more expensive compared to the fullset, but fullset didn't have mint, and I really wanted a mint skin. love to see her in all colors

 

no and its really nice to see that the kept the basics open after the event this time. i thought i'd missed out on mari but i'll probably break down and order one yet. i'm just kicking myself for not getting a pupu to go with my soso. seeing him/her done up custom i really wish i'd taken a chance and got one. i was hoping they'd do what they did with the realpuki pupus and release the sculpt for each event all year instead of just the once

 

Ahh! Flame is the cutest thing I've ever seen! I'd love to see him with Elfonda sometime, Wovenflame. They'd make a dazzlingly colorful pair.

I'm getting a Mari in mint - I remembered tan for some reason, but I checked and she's mint. People kept talking about dragon Maris in the last thread and the idea kind of got stuck...
